About this cottage rental
Family Beach Cottage with perennial flower garden (cutting allowed), screened porch and small open deck with plenty of seating. Two bedrooms, lovely décor. South bedroom holds a beautiful cast-iron canopy QUEEN bed custom-made for the Pink House by Levin's Brass Beds of Virginia. North room holds FULL-size bed with a SINGLE-size roll-away underneath, new mattresses and pillows. Total, the cottage should be able to sleep a family of 5 comfortably, depending on the size and needs of the individuals. Linens are provided and beds made for you for your arrival so you don't have to do anything. *Be aware that full-size bed may not fit larger guests comfortably. The house might only then fit 3. We count on your experience to know your own needs. Each room has a dresser and the second room has a small closet with portable racks for hanging wet clothes and towels. Appliance-equipped kitchen for cooking complete meals (no ice-maker or dish-washer), microwave, crock pot, and 2 types of coffee maker, handy for those traveling with special diet restrictions or busy families. Small backyard, no fence. Dining/living areas, tv, high-speed internet, Netflix and cable, central air, fireplace for off-season. Games, books, and drawing items for use. Grocery store and coin laundry just 1/2 mile away towards the north. Permit parking only (we provide Guest Pass. Fee only if you lose it.) Flowers almost all year 'round. It changes by the Owner's whim or Mother Nature's mood swings. Most of cleaning fee is included in the rent, (small minimum fee added to guarantee maid income). Cozy 100% cotton linens provided with one fee per stay, beds will be made for arrival, one bath and one beach towel per guest. Kitchen linens provided. Some toilet paper and soap as well (We supply enough for most but do not guarantee supply for stay, especially since we now have to portion it out as a valuable commodity. We are trying to supply our guests with the best available). This cottage is like having an aunt with a beach house. Please enjoy yourselves and say hello to the neighbors. It's the Virginia thing to do!
*CLEANING: Since the Covid-19 shut-down, we have been cleaning and painting at the cottage. Our housekeeper has asthma so we do not make a habit of using harsh chemicals in the house unless absolutely needed. In addition to our normal system of using mild cleansers, we are finishing all guest preparation by wiping down 'touchy' surfaces like handles and light switches with alcohol disinfectant as we walk out the door and lock it behind us. Sheets, towels, and pillowcases will be washed. Blankets and coverlets will be run through a hot dryer, just for sanitation (they don't typically need to be washed after every use). We have removed most of the rugs in the house to make it easier to clean. Chairs were switched out to hard surfaces that are easier to wipe down. Be aware that there is no dishwasher in the house. If you feel uncomfortable using the supplied housewares, please bring paper plates, etc.

Such a lovely cottage! The house is stocked with everything you need and things you didn’t know you needed until the situation arises, like band aids, pizza cutter, and sandwich bags! Ten-minute leisurely walk to the beach and very close to all the attractions. Great communication with the host, but I didn’t feel micromanaged like I have at other places. Highly recommend!

I love this beautiful pink house, it is so clean, comfortable, and adorable, I love the garden, well equipped you just need to bring your clothes and yourself, I planned this trip to have quality time with my mom and my 3 sisters, I felt like I was home, we created great memories, and the host was extremely nice and great communication, make me feel like I know her for a long time, I recommend this place for an unforgivable vacation, if I have the opportunity to go back to Virginia I will choose this place again with no regrets. A++++++

My family loved our stay here. Denise was very responsive if you need anything. She had a book with a detailed history of the cottage which I loved. The flowers were beautiful. The cottage was so cute and cozy, plenty big enough for my family of 4. It was very clean and the personal touches were awesome! The Old Beach area was quiet but yet a short walk to the beach and boardwalk if you want to be busy. If I come back to this area I would definitely stay here again.

This was the most delightful experience we've had on vacation! The check-in was easy and everything was clean and charming - even more than seen in the photos. We all loved the walking convenience to the beach and coffee shops and grocery store. The owner's personal story about this pink house was nice. Best of all, the porch and flower garden were so nice that we changed our plans and stayed around the house rather than eat out. I even invited my cousin to visits - something I'd never do at a hotel. This whole experience set a new standard for our whole family!

This property is perfect for enjoying beach amenities but without beach chaos. Location is peaceful and relaxing. Attention to detail by the host is over the top--fresh flowers from the garden, a snack basket for people and pets, and anything you might need to feel at home and comfortable. If more stars were available, this place would have earned them.

My husband, 8 month old daughter, and I loved our stay at the pink cottage. Just like the description states, it truly does feel like you’re staying at your aunt’s beach house! It was extremely clean, tidy, and well stocked with any necessities you might forget. It unfortunately rained the majority of our stay, so we didn’t do much walking, but it is in a very central location. Denise is extremely responsive via text with any questions which is much appreciated! We will definitely be back to the pink cottage 😊

Owner Denise is super sweet and accommodating! We arrived late in the evening and extremely tired from a 9 hour drive for day 1 and totally missed the clearly written instructions on parking passes and more. I texted Denise and within a few minutes she got back to me with assistance. The property is darling and the backyard is fabulous! First time I did not cook on a vacation due to the schedule for 5 days In Virginia. But….Denise has everything and more needed to bake, cook, bbq and more! I am a food fanatic and professional pastry and culinary chef and recommend to families that want cook like we usually do - stay here! And….this is a 5 minute walk to the Boardwalk and beach along with grocery stores (love Harris Teeter), convenience stores, pharmacies and seafood restaurants galore! I was there for work, catering the desserts for a wedding and will comeback to take advantage of the location, accommodations and the beach when I do not have to work. Mary

The whole family loved the Pink House. Clean and tidy with decorative touches throughout (and a beautiful garden outside), this was an oasis for a fun early spring beach weekend. Denise was very communicative and helpfully double-checked that there would be enough space for our family. We would happily stay here again.

We visited on a chilly weekend with some rain. We were close to the Convention Center and all the shops and restaurants close to the beach. We have a one-year-old who is very busy and gets into everything. We blocked off the kitchen area and problem solved! We enjoyed our stay and would visit the Pink House again in the future. I really appreciated the flower arrangements inside which were very pretty. Inside is peaceful and quiet even though the area is busy. The house had everything we needed! Thank you!

Great experience - the hosts thought of everything. Immaculately maintained and location couldn't be better. Be sure and check out the "Little Red House Book of Stuff", which contains not only tons of information about what to see and do, but provides a charming background on the property. Stay was very comfortable and convienent to the heart of Virginia Beach. Within walking distance to about anything needed for a stay. Restuarants, Bars, Shopping, etc. The plant growth shown in the front of the house is the same as in the back which made us uncomfortable with what could be in hiding. There was no yard in which to step outside with your pet for them to relieve themselves. Not really pet friendly

This cozy little house is conveniently located near the beach and arts district. It is perfectly laid out and beautifully decorated- we had everything we needed. The garden is lovely and there was a vase of fresh flowers in our bedroom. Denise, the owner, was super helpful and worked it so we could check in early. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at the Pink House while attending a family wedding. The cottage is located within short walking distance to the beach, coffee shops, and restaurants. We arrived to fresh flower arrangements from the beautiful gardens on the property! The cottage was immaculately clean, cozy and beautifully decorated. Denise responded quickly and was thorough with all the information we needed for our stay. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Visiting Virginia Beach for the Neptune Festival, we felt so lucky to have found this little gem! The house was perfect! It had everything the two of us needed and was within walking distance of the festival as well as the awesome Vibe District where we spent time exploring. The house and Denise make you feel like family- all the little personal touches and information in the binders really makes this a one of a kind stay. Our favorite of all time by far. We wish we could have stayed longer just to spend more time in the house. Thank you Denise! We hope to return and book again! So much love this little perfect place.

The little pink house is cozy and super charming. I took my mom and six-year-old daughter for a beach vacation and it was the perfect size for all three of us. My daughter dubbed it “the fairy cottage” and she’s not wrong! Very clean, and comfortable with a lovely garden. It is by far the cutest house in the neighborhood, with lots of pretty and artistic details inside and out. It was only 4 blocks to the ocean, and a close very easy drive over to the quieter Sandbridge area, and the even closer aquarium. Parking was always easy to get right in front of the house. The host was friendly and communicative via text. Highly recommend!

My family (and dogs) had a wonderful stay at the pink beach house. While our trip was a short one, to enjoy the Oceana NAS airshow, this beach house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The property is in a safe location (where I felt safe to walk my dogs around the streets alone) and in close distance to conveniences such as the beach (maybe 4 blocks), grocery shopping (2 min drive), Oceana NAS (15 min drive), Norfolk Tides game (20 min drive), and the highway (5 minute drive). The property was as described and loaded with creature comforts to make your stay that much more comfortable. The property owner was very responsive and was kind enough to leave us a treat basket for us and our dogs that did not disappoint! My family would definitely recommend this property for families and their dogs!

Myself and colleagues stayed here for 5 nights Aug 2023. We were in town for a training and wanted to have comforts of home. It is SO cute. She sent a very detailed doc before our stay that told us everything the kitchen had for our use and tons of property info. It was very helpful in planning what groceries we could buy. Very cozy and not decorated like a lot of rentals that are exclusively decorated from hobby lobby ;) Very convenient to grocery store, beach, and restaurants. Lovely porch and garden provides some privacy from the street.

Our little one loved exploring the cottage and all the wonderful artistic touches everywhere. We had the most wonderful time at this sweet home. My mom, sister, and I came for a girls' weekend, and we couldn't have imagined a better place. It's beautifully decorated, and Denise had thought of everything. We loved reading about the history of the home, and her recommendation book was super helpful. There were oohs and aahs every day as we discovered something new. Breakfast out in the back garden was the perfect way to start every day. We can't wait to book a trip back next year!

Adorable little house that is only a couple minute walk from the beach and boardwalk! Anything you could need is right there— the location is really excellent. The owner is super kind and quick to respond to any issues you may have, and even gave us some suggestions for things to do when the weather during our stay wasn’t great. The house is definitely cozy, but that suited our little party just fine. Such a beautiful home, would absolutely recommend!
