About this house rental
Welcome to my Maltese townhouse which I recently renovated in the historical city of Senglea (Isla) in the Three Cities area of Valletta Grand Harbour. It is really spacious with a medieval room.
The house comprises a fully equipped new kitchen with fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob. Breakfast items (coffee, tea, milk, bread, butter, cheese, cornflakes, fruit juice, jam, biscuits, hot chocolate etc.) are provided free to guests. There is a living room with a Smart TV and cable service, a medieval dining room and 3 double bedrooms. There are also 2 bathrooms and a spare guest toilet.
Upstairs there are 2 great, sunny terraces with lovely views across to Valletta Grand Harbour and Fort Saint Angelo. The ferry boat from/to Senglea and Valletta only takes 5 minutes. A pharmacy, newsagent, confectionery, pizzeria, butcher, grocer, cash machines & city bus terminus are close by. Airport is just 15 minutes away by taxi.
IMPORTANT
Please note that the standard price is only for 2 bedrooms which can take up to 4 persons. An extra charge of EUR 50 per person per day will be applied if the third bedroom is needed for bookings of 4 persons or less.

Enjoyed our stay and the property had everything we needed. Joanne was a generous and thoughtful host!

My group and I had a great time at Jo's vacation home. The house was beautiful and charming.
We appreciated the outdoor space (terasses), and that there was a small extra kitchen and bathroom next to it, so it was not necessary to go all the way downstairs to get refreshments or take a cold shower after a sunbath.
The house was equipped with everything we needed (a big variety of kitchen utensils/ towels/ patio furniture/ etc.) so that we felt comfortable from the start.
We moved around the island by Uber/Bolt, but little markets or restaurants could be reached by feet. There even was a little place where you could take a bath in the water, however it was next to the harbour and not very spacious so i'd only recommend for a short cooling.
The old streets around the accommodation were very beautiful and well preserved so definetly worth a walk if you are into vintage architecture.
The communication with Jo was always friendly, reliable and fast and she made sure, that we had/knew everything we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

This house is very nice...decorated with taste and very large. All facilities were running smoothly, We were 4 adults and all of us were very happy. Very well located, I have only one regret: I had to come back to work.

The townhouse was exactly as I expected - neat and tidy with a great view from the roof terasse. For me it has been very comfortable and well equipped. The communication with Joanne has been always very friendly, prompt and helpful. Can recommend the appartment.

This vacation rental is exactly as described! Has beautiful features that bring touches of Maltese culture. A lovely home. Our host was so great about communicating and providing helpful suggestions. We were greeted by our friendly host who also provided us breakfast items. Yum! The neighborhood is very quite and welcoming. Had a great chat with one of her neighbors. View from upper terraces were a plus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and encourage you to book this one for your next trip to Malta!

We loved Malta. The unit is 5 minutes walk from the bus stop. The buses, which almost always run on time, allow you to get almost anywhere in Malta. The unit was as described and the hostess was very responsive. We had no problems finding or accessing the unit. Unfortunately during our time there, Malta was so hot and humid, we couldn't fully enjoy the rooftop decks. We did watch some fireworks from up there. There were plenty of fans in the bedrooms, which was good because of the temperature and lack of AC. The kitchen had all the essentials. We cooked the majority of our dinners in the kitchen, which has a glass stovetop, microwave, and oven. The refrigerator and freezer were adequate for our needs. The hostess left us some beverages and food in the refrigerator, which was very sweet of her. Because we were so busy touring, we did not use the TV or living room. There were plenty of small shops for food nearby, but they were only open early in the morning and in the evening. All of the locals we met were very friendly and we felt very safe in the neighborhood. Most Maltese recommended that we use bottle water, which we did. This is because the water is extremely hard, not because of any sanitary reasons. I drank the water frequently, with no ill effects. We used the washer frequently as our clothes got sweaty from all our touring. They dried quickly on the clothesline, despite the humidity. I really loved the fact that the unit was so historic. The floor tiles, the stairs, even the limestone walls; it was all so quaint. All in all, it was a great trip and we plan on coming back to Malta in the future.

Our time in Malta was enhanced by this home. It’s location was ideal with the mobile produce man out front in the morning to the little grocery stores nearby and the transit hub 100 meters away. The boat taxes at the bottom of the hill were charming and romantic. Our host, Joanne was a joy. She responded to our every need and we all hope to one day see her again. Patty

Had an amazing few days in this wonderful property. Senglea is a great location to explore Valletta and the remainder of the Maltese island(s) and Jo’s property gives you everything you need for a relaxing stay. Well furnished, clean and tidy with everything you will need for your stay. The house has been excellently refurbished and one of the highlights is the roof terrace to catch the sun and have alfresco meals.
The property is close to shops and the ferry to Valletta and has on street parking nearby. It certainly met our needs and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend to others.

I was in Senglea for two weeks, and this was the second place I stayed at because I needed a 2-bedroom to accommodate friends coming from Italy to stay with me. What a beautiful place! Lovely medievel space with stone walls, beautiful tile floors, fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms, a great rooftop view of Vittoriosa and the harbor in between.
The property is situated on the square of St. Philip's Church, with an easy and pleasant walk to the waterfront on either side of the peninsula and to the ferry to Valletta.
Senglea is a mostly residential area, somewhat sleepy compared to Valletta or especially Sliema and St.Julian which are busier and more commercial and tourist-y.
The host Joanne was very helpful and friendly, and communication was excellent! The goodies she left in the kitchen were delicious and much appreciated. After I left I realized I'd forgotten some laundry in the washing machine and Joanne kept it for me and met me to hand it off - very accommodating.
Very highly recommend this place!

We very much enjoyed the location of this property, being convenient for a walk to catch the water taxi to Valletta. There was a good selection of waterfront restaurants within walking distance of the house. The immediate area where the house was situated was very peaceful, particularly in the evenings.
When we wanted to travel further afield eg. to Mdina and to Marsaxlokk we used Bolt (like Uber) and were picked up at the house. This was reasonably priced and worked very well.
We appreciated the fact that the house has an outdoor space- it was good to be able to read outside: although we were not very lucky with the weather.
Our host was helpful and responded promptly to any communications from us.
We felt that the house itself could have been improved easily and cheaply with some new mattress covers, comfortable cotton bed linen and new towels. The showers would have benefitted from replacement of old sealant.
Overall the house was well equipped and represented good value for money.

Excellent property in ideal location for those not wishing to stay in a ‘typical’ holiday location.
Jo was a good host.

If you want to get the feel of staying in "Real Malta" this is the house for you. A perfect base for visiting historic sites with great access to Valletta using ferries across Grand Harbour.
At the end of the day nothing better than relaxing in the cool of the evening on roof terraces. These have great views over the harbour and if you are lucky see amazing firework displays.
The house is very we equipped and was comfortable to live in despite the very hot weather.
We loved the medieval feel to the property especially the dining room and the stairs.
Restaurants are are down the hill along the sea front and there are a few little local shops to buy essential items such as bread and milk.
A few minutes away is the Gardiola Garden with amazing views over Grand Harbour -- great to see the shipping and private yachts coming in and out.
One big mention is the host Jo who was so easy to deal with even when booking and was lovely to meet in person.
We spent a fantastic holiday here and would like to return again.

This place was amazing and exactly like the pictures! Location wise the bus stop is right down the road and it’s a short walk to the ferries to access Valletta. There are several good local restaurants within a 5min walk and a few shops close by too. A true Maltese experience!

As Canadians we felt so fortunate to experience a month living like locals in historic Senglea. The home was large enough and well equipped for us to enjoy visits from family. Particularly memorable were our dinners in the beautiful dining room. The roof top terrace was a wonderful spot to read and visit. We never tired of walking (and dining) on the waterfront. Both the Three Cities and Valletta have excellent museums, forts and historic houses that interpret the fascinating overlapping history of the successive occupations. Both this property and the Grand Harbour area are highly recommended.Thank you, Jo, for your warm and generous hospitality.

Our travelling trio spent holiday time in Italy, Sicily and Malta staying at various BnB's, hotels and villas and it was unanimous that this one in Senglea was the standout amongst them all. A 3 bedroom home in a convenient and historic city at the top of Victoria Street. Close to local stores and transport and walking distances to transport (ferry/bus) and dining options. The character of the home and the street gave it a village feel that you don't normally get in a capital city. Our host that we did not get to meet looked after us with provisions for the first day and an open invitation to contact her if there was a need to. The roof top level was fantastic as it was a great place to unwind after a big day of walking, touring the many sights that Malta offers. A regular spot for us to watch the sun go down, a cruise ship leave the Grand Harbour while relaxing over food and drink. Breakfast at the Alice Springs cafe on Dockyard Creek was a regular haunt. The home can get a bit hot but the house comes equipped with a number of pedestal fans that can get cooler air circulating and help guests get a good night's sleep.
