About this house rental
Nestled in a true wildlife sanctuary, Kiskadee Casa is a 3 bedroom home that offers quiet seclusion within Manuel Antonio Estates-- one of the most accessible and beautiful gated communities in the area. This gem is situated just minutes away from downtown Quepos, the white sand beaches of the Manuel Antonio National Park, and the new world-class Marina Pez Vela. The quality of the building materials and the detailed workmanship of Kiskadee Casa is exquisite. Imported Italian tiles, wooden French doors with ornate stained glass panels leading to the master bedroom, a spacious, elegant master bathroom, and the local hardwood finishes are just a few of the incredible features. Because of its location at the end of the cul-de-sac, the house enjoys privacy, as well as safety, with 24 hour security. The three comfortable bedrooms can easily accommodate 4 - 6 residents. Each bedroom is equipped with its own quiet AC unit with remote control. Why rent two or three hotel rooms, when you can rent an entire, family-friendly house for the price of one hotel room? With a full kitchen and a gas grill, feel free to take advantage of the local markets, including the farmers market on Saturdays, to prepare your own meals with fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables and freshly caught fish, or have our concierge book a chef to cook while you sit back and relax. Or, just outside the estates you will find an abundant variety of restaurants from casual, ethnic, and al fresco, to 4 & 5-star gourmet dining with beautiful ocean views.
Kiskadee Casa is ideal for families who love the surroundings of the lush rain forest and can’t get enough of the pure sounds of the jungle. Step outside and be entertained by visitors such as bright, colorful toucans and macaws, playful monkeys and adorable sloths. Fruit trees and flowers are abundant on the property. Relax on the balcony in our hammock chairs that covert to full hammocks. Keep cool in our new pool and be on the lookout for sloths in the trees nearby. Green areas cover a large portion of the estates with 5 km of hiking trails with small creeks and waterfalls. Have our concierge book a dreamy massage at the house or at a spa. In to yoga or pilates? He can arrange sessions for you.
There is so much to do in this area, plan to spend at least 5 nights with us. Our friendly and knowledgeable concierge will help you plan and book all your tours and transportation. With various modes of transportation easily accessible, you can enjoy a multitude of exciting activities in the area including zip-lining, whale and dolphin watching, boating, para-sailing, bird watching, eco-tourism, tennis, golf, and huge, wild crocodiles at Carrara National Park, just to name a few. Not only are there tours of the park but many other local tours for which pick up can be arranged. Recommended examples are Damas Island, a canopy tour in Rainmaker Park where you can swim and stand under a waterfall, Horseback tour to waterfall, Night-time Jungle tour.
Day trips can, also, be arranged from Kiskadee Casa for snorkeling at Caño Island, whale and dolphin watching, Corcovado National Park, and other exciting tours leaving from Marino Bellena National Park.
Shuttle or bus service is available to and from San Jose airport. One could rent a car at the airport and drive approximately 3.5 hours to Quepos/Manuel Antonio on good roads or fly Nature Air from San Jose to Quepos and arrange for car rental after arrival at one of the local agencies. Flights take about 25 minutes. Or choose to use local shuttle or taxi service once you arrive.
Here is a quote from Forbes Magazine about Manuel Antonio Park: “Here is a stunning combination of beaches and coral reefs, perfect for snorkeling and exploring the area’s famous tangle of mangroves. Rainforest jungles remain untouched habitats for Brown-throated Three-toed Sloths, iguanas, Central American squirrel monkeys and birds of extraordinary colors. One of Costa Rica’s smallest national parks, Manuel Antonio is nevertheless one of its most popular, with activities ranging from white-water rafting and sea kayaking to horseback riding on one of the park’s four beaches.”
From Broadwayworld: “Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, has had its debut, and is now becoming one of the top 'boutique' travel destinations in the world. Forbes called Manuel Antonio National Park one of the '12 Most Beautiful National Parks of the World'.
Costa Rica is fast becoming one of the top vacation spots for families. Manuel Antonio has much to offer including beautiful white sand beaches, calm waters, kid-friendly tours, National Park, and abundant, exotic wildlife. The house was awesome. Check in/out was very easy, and there was a very fast response to any questions I had throughout the stay. I don't think you can beat the views, we had breakfast on the porch every morning and just enjoyed looking out into the jungle/valley. It is in a very convenient location which made getting to the various actives we booked pretty easily. Most were under a half hour drive. Its only 5-10 mins to some shops for groceries, restaurants and souvenirs. The pool was very relaxing and nice to get into after getting back from the days adventure. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to say in the Manual Antonio/Quepos area.

We saw howler monkeys, capuchins, agoutis, toucans and macaws. Home was clean and caretakers were very friendly. There is a small error in listing that wasn’t a problem for us. There are 2 full baths-1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. The listing mentions 2 additional half baths. The downstairs unit can be rented separately and is not connected internally to upstairs.

If you need place to stay in Quepos, look no further. This house is perfect. It has everything you need. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our time in Quepos, always staying busy - what a pleasure it was to come back to this home at the end of the day. It was so cool, clean, spacious, open and comfortable. The outside deck is huge and we enjoyed our coffee on it in the mornings with the monkeys. In the late afternoons, we spent our time at the pool and on the deck listening to all the sounds of the birds. The kitchen has the all the basics of what you need for meal preparation and cooking. The hill leading up the home is quite a steep drive so be aware of that. When we felt like walking in town, we would drive the car down to the bottom of the hill and park by the main office and then walk all over town. The house is so close to the town, yet far enough up the hill where you are "secluded" and it is extremely peaceful and quiet. Brendon is very helpful in answering all questions and answers immediately. If returning to Quepos, I would absolutely rent again.

We spent three nights at Kiskadee Casa. It was perfect. The wildlife is amazing. We saw: monkeys, agouti, spiders, lizards, frogs, a lot of different birds including falcons. The communication with the owner and the property manager was perfect. Without hesitation, we recommend.

We loved the location and the view! Right in the rain forest with monkeys visiting us. Three babies and their mom. 10 minutes from everywhere we wanted to go. Excellent communication!

We just returned home from our 5 week stay at Casa Kaskadee! Our stay was a nature lovers delight! We would get up early sit out on the deck and watch for something exciting to show up. It could be macaws, monkeys, various bird sitings or howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys and then the capuchin with their entertaining antics and won’t spoil the fun by telling more. We got to know the caretakers and all were wonderful! We would walk into the town and the people were all very friendly and proud of their Costa Rican heritage! I encourage a visit to see for yourself! Pure Vida!!!!!

We’re on our final day at Kiskadee Casa and I don’t even know how to begin explaining how amazing it is here. As I write this I’m watching a sloth and a large iguana climb trees right next to the house, amazing sight! We were hoping to see a white faced capuchin monkey while staying here and we got so much more. Every day a family of capuchin or squirrel monkeys visited us on the porch, sometimes both in a day. They love the hammock swings on the porch and are so much fun to watch. We saw howler monkeys, agouti, 3 colors of hummingbirds, blue morpho butterflies, toucans, scarlet macaws, lots of small lizards, and so many monkeys. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable, with large windows and an amazing view. The pool is great after a hot day of sightseeing and feels like you’re swimming in the jungle. We have loved every minute of our time here and will definitely come back one day.

This is a very cool and unique property.
The owner and caretaker were responsive. Lots of wildlife and privacy. Close to the national park. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The house was very comfortable with individual air conditioning units in the rooms. The kitchen was well stocked.

Beautiful home located in a quiet gated neighborhood in the Manuel Antonio/Quepos area. Cozy/comfortable home that had an authentic Cost Rican feel! House sits atop a hill and tucked away in the jungle. Peaceful/quiet area away from the busy-ness of Quepos/Man. Ant., great pool. Beautiful patio where we could watch/listen to the jungle and we were fortunate to be visited by a groups of squirrel monkeys! One thing to consider for sleeping arrangements…The downstairs (ground floor) bedroom/bath is separate from main home(2nd floor) but convenient to pool/carport area. However, our kids didn’t want to sleep down there so parents slept there and kids stayed in main house bedrooms upstairs…worked out fine for our family of 5 just something to consider depending upon the group. Would definitely recommend this home and we would stay here again!

Had lots of monkeys as a welcoming party! Saw more here than in Antonio Manuel. Also saw some macaws, and the rainforest setting was really awesome. Loved the pool too. Great to have the laundry to catch up on cleaning clothes for my family of 6, also kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Drove down to play at Catarata Uvita and saw a sloth.

Kiskadee Casa was perfect for our recovery from a week of constant activity all over Costa Rica. It's peaceful (the emerald cicadas and macaws are very loud, but only for a minute!) and gives you plenty of opportunity to watch the wildlife. We spent a lot of time on the deck with binoculars. The bedrooms upstairs are comfortable (hooray for good pillows!) and quick to cool with the heat pumps. There's another bedroom/studio apartment downstairs with a bar fridge, tiny microwave, coffee maker. The kitchen had almost all the equipment we needed and a decent amount of prep space. I found the counters a bit high, but my taller companions were comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked reliably. The pool was a such a welcome relief any time of day! Be prepared for semi-regular power outages overnight (there are flash lights in the house).
The house is only a kilometre from downtown Quepos and just under 2K from the malecon. We didn't have a car, so the steep approach was a daily workout coming home from grocery shopping/wandering/beaching. The farmers market (behind the bus station) is definitely worth visiting on Friday night or Saturday morning. There's a well-stocked corner store and the bus stop to/from Manuel Antonio Park (390 colones and the driver gives change) are about 100 m from the estate gatehouse.
We really appreciated having Johan only an email or phone call away--and having a land-line in the house to use to call him!
This is a lovely spot. Enjoy! Pura vida :-)

Better than advertised, this spot was a perfect little getaway on the fringes of jungle and not far from great dining and fantastic beaches. The residence is a beautiful spot, well suited to multiple couples or small families. With a great pool and a short drive or walk from the town and many perfect beaches. My partner and I had an amazing stay. Could not recommend more.

The house was at the end of a road on the edge of the forest. The homes we passed were nearby, tucked away, quiet without any light pollution. Early morning on the balcony and later in the afternoon was a great time for birdwatching and viewing monkeys and other wildlife. The home was clean, well maintained and stocked. Even the knives were sharp. Like everywhere else in the area there are steep hills. We would stay there again.

Our stay at Casa Kiskadee was fantastic. The place was clean and located in an amazing location, literally nestled in the forest.
We had an opportunity to see many animals, especially a whole troop of squirrel monkeys that came through the trees and on our porch in the afternoon.
Having the laundry room with adequate supplies was great.
Communication with the concierge was very good.
Overall we loved our stay here.

We loved our time at Casa Kiskadee! Tucked up above Quepos and away from the busy hustle you find yourself surrounded by an oasis!! First morning we woke to the wonderful sound of the howler monkeys. They went through the canopy first followed a bit later by Capuchins and then, in the evening, the squirrel monkeys. We loved the days that we stayed put and relaxed because there was so much to hear and watch! Most amazing I think was the capuchins harassing a couple of toucans.... and the toucans won!!!
Clean, well stocked - absolutely everything you might need and more. Johan, the property manager was so friendly and helpful. We would go back in a heartbeat.
To the owners - thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven!!

The home was exactly as promised in the listing and very much to our liking.. We actually received more than we expected as far as the location was concerned. The home is privately nestled into the jungle which gave us the opportunity to observe many animals all throughout the stay.
5.0 / 5.0
We enjoyed this house but I would say the porch upstairs isn’t very safe for small children! Also third bedroom is separate from the house! However the house was very cozy and never hot! We did feel like we were home!

We stayed 3 nights here and loved it. Our teenage daughter loved hanging out on the hammocks on the balcony/deck every day, even when it poured rain outside. The house is supplied with everything you need in the kitchen. Large shared bathroom. We didn't use the downstairs bedroom, as there was only 3 of us. Having the washer and dryer was a plus! We loved all of the wildlife we saw on the property- geckos, frogs, toads, birds, and white faced monkeys. Property manager was easy to communicate with.

Check in was easy. Johan, the concierge, is great. He communicates well and knows the area and attractions. He recommended a good restaurant and set up out Zip Lining tour. The house is very secluded and the road to get to the property is a little daunting, if you aren’t comfortable traversing slopes. The only negative was the upstairs shower had almost no water pressure, so I would use the shower downstairs, as it was fine. I wish I had figured this out before the third night, lol. Pura Vida! Enjoy Costa Rica!

This property is beautiful and just as described. The property manager, Johna, was wonderful and super responsive. We loved having coffee on the balcony and swimming in the very private pool. It was a nice surprise to have monkeys visit us one afternoon. I would definitely stay here again!

Incredible place, great location
This place was bright, spacious, fun, well equipped with spices, the outdoor grill patio pool etc. it was fantastic. It was private with birds and other wildlife. Johan was very helpful and connected us with two fantastic guides for a mangrove kayak and Manuel Antonio tour. Highly recommend going with a guide in Manuel Antonio despite all the reviews that may say otherwise, you will need your own guide for focusing on the wildlife otherwise you just will not see it.

Don’t wait, just book it
We had the BEST experience here! We traveled with myself, my husband, our 15 year old son and my husbands cousin. It was perfect to have the little apartment downstairs so that she could have her privacy! We loved this house. Spent time every day in the pool. Enjoyed the monkeys that came to visit as well as the pair of macaws that flew every day. Johan the concierge took care of alllll our needs. From arranging transport and tours to arranging an incredible private chef to come in and cook for us one night. He was helpful in every way. We will definitely be back!

Great stay!
Great location. Walk to downtown Quepos and short drive to Manuel Antonio. House has two bedrooms up and a third bedroom down. The downstairs bedroom not connected through the inside of the house. Upstairs is very comfortable. Fast internet, everything worked. Place was clean upon arrival. Washer/Dryer is downstairs. BBQ on balcony (we didn't use). Pool is a great relief. The place had awesome wildlife. Monkeys on the porch (even a baby monkey riding mommies back), iguanas, toucan, etc... After the first day there were a lot of harmless sugar ants (I think) on the countertops. We are very clean and could not keep them away...but that is probably resolved by now. Host was responsive. If you are not a skilled driver I would recommend a 4x4 to get up the driveway. We had a 2 wheel manual transmission and needed a running start to get up before the wheels began to spin. Doable with a 2 wheel drive but would be much easier with a 4x4 automatic. I would stay here again without question.

Magical place tucked into the jungle with spectacular views of the mountains
Truly one of a kind location, feels like you're in the trees surrounded by all the monkeys and birds you can imagine. Driving around Costa Rica you see signs for tours and experiences that can all be found from the comfort of home at the Kiskadee. Looked out one morning from our coffees to see a literal ball of squirrel monkeys playing in the hammocks. Hard to explain the crazy enjoyment of that right outside your window. Daily dips in the pool to cool down and every comfort of home possible to be found in Quepos at the foot of the community. Need hiking boots? They're there, charging cables? Check. It's actually amazing that you can get anything you forgot at home steps away. Property manager Johan is always attentive and available.

Squirrel monkey sightings every day!
Our favorite thing about the property was having squirrel monkeys pass through the trees on the property every late afternoon, sometimes even going across the house and balcony railing!
Everything was extremely clean when we arrived and they had lots of useful kid cups/plates/popsicle molds/etc!
The pool was very nice and separate downstairs living space was perfect for our multi-generational family - the grandparents stayed on their own!
Only downsides for us was the balcony railing has very wide spaces so my 1 year old couldn't go out there without being held, and the driveway and all of estate property (and most of the surrounding area) was very steep so we drove everywhere. We rented a car so it was ok, but wouldn't have been manageable otherwise for the olders in our group - one of our excursion shuttles couldn't make it up and we had to walk down to the gates. Fine for me, but not for my parents.
Overall, we loved the place and would definitely go back to the house again once the kids are older!!
