Unlike the heavily populated East Coast and the Keys, the West Coast of Florida offers its residents and guests some of the most scenic, relaxed, and beautiful coastline available. White sand beaches, turquoise waters, abundant wildlife, and enchanting warm coastal breezes makes the Englewood area one of the most prized vacation spots for travelers from throughout the world.
Directions to property -- R775/Placida Road south 5 miles from SR776/McCall Rd in Englewood. Turn at Cape Haze Marina sign at 6950 Placida Rd, right. House located at the end of Bay Pointe on waterway.
Additional Details on the Surrounding Area:
Located on Florida's famous SW Suncoast, this townhome in Englewood, only 4 miles from Boca Grande Pass, is part of the old Florida lifestyle that is missing in many areas now. Charlotte County has uniquely banned high-rises near the Gulf waters, meaning your views won't be interrupted! With the home located in a marina area at Marker 8 on the lower Lemon Bay Intercoastal Waterway, you have access to boating, kayaking, and fishing practically at your door. Pristine Gulf beaches with white sand await you by boat ride, bicycle, or car, including beautiful Stump Pass State Park and Don Pedro Island State Park. Additionally numerous area golf courses, some within golf cart ride distance, accommodate your active lifestyle.
While small (2000 census - 14,000), Englewood has several big box stores for ease of shopping, plus Port Charlotte, Venice, and Sarasota are just minutes away. With the smaller population you learn to love the lack of traffic, slower-paced lifestyle revolving around friendships made, and safer neighborhoods. The school system is one of the highest ranked in Florida, which exceeds national standards in all areas. A sense of community abounds, including many houses of faith for all denominations, and much volunteer work to give back to the community.
No detail has been overlooked in this 2668 square foot, four-story townhouse. With three bedrooms and four baths, the unit comfortably sleeps 6-8.
The bright and airy master suite boasts a private balcony, walk-in closet, and a five-piece bath complete with jetted spa tub, glass surround shower, double sinks, and solid wood cabinets, walk in huge closet, and washer/dryer. Twin beds in the second bedroom also has a full en suite bath. The 3rd bedroom we consider as a second master sits on the top floor. It has its own private balcony and en suite full bathroom as well. A double sofa-bed provides additional sleeping facility for up to 8. Additional mattress pads are available and can be added for extra comfort. The third floor open-concept living area offers a stunning gourmet kitchen with wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances, solid surface countertops, and breakfast bar. Throughout the house you will find fine detailing, ceiling fans, recessed can lighting, tray ceilings, and ceramic tile.
Situated at Cape Haze Marina, this property offers the perfect opportunity for boaters and anglers who appreciate the convenience of a full-service marina. This ideal location offers immediate access to the Intracoastal Waterway and bridgeless, deep water access to the Gulf of Mexico within five minutes. Some of the richest inshore, near-shore, and deep-sea fishing grounds in the World are found here in Southwest Florida--now is your chance to jump on the boat from your back door and immerse yourself in them. If you’d rather spend your days on the sandy white beaches, Stump Pass, Palm Island, Boca Grande, and Englewood beaches are all mere minutes away.

If you are looking for a good value home in an interesting location, then this may be for you. The home is on 4 levels - garage/ground; 2nd floor has 2 bedrooms each with own full bath and laundry room; 3rd floor has main living area - living room, kitchen, dining area, and 1/2 bath; 4th floor bedroom with full bath. Yes - there is an elevator so don't worry about the 4 levels! The main living area and 2 of the bedrooms have balconies overlooking the marina with a view to the east so you get the sunrise (but no sunset) views. We enjoyed watching all the activities in the marina during the day and the peacefulness during the evening. The business part of the marina shuts down by 6 pm so there is not a lot of noise or activity in the evening or night. We had access to the owner's electric golf cart which was nice to ride to the swim pool which is located at the other end of the Marina complex. We had access to the kayak although we did not use it. We did bring our bikes and enjoyed riding on the nearby Pioneer Trail and Boca Grande trails - as well as nearby neighborhoods. There is essentially no traffic issues in this part of Florida which is unusual for the winter season. Easy drive to Boca Grande and Manasota Key beach areas and restuarants.
Sadly, this area was affected by hurricane Ian so vegetation in the area had been damaged and many homes and businesses needed repair and new roofs. We spent a day on Don Pedro Island on our bikes via the ferry and saw lots more hurricane damage on the barrier islands than on the mainland. It will take some time for all activities and businesses in the area to be restored. Fortunately, our condo had no noticable damage.
We all enjoyed the space provided by the condo and the location at the marina. I would suggest taking a couple hour boat tour with Captain Blake Tours and his boat "HydroTherapy" which you can literally walk to from the condo. He does a great job and you will experience dolphins, manatees, and lots of birds.
In summary, this is an interesting home and location at a great value in a not so busy part of Florida. We really did enjoy it more than we thought we would.

Like staying at a friend's home
The 4-floor condo layout was perfect for our group of 2 pair of married adults plus kids; plenty of room to be together or spread out. Likely the most stocked rental of any we’ve ever used; provided amenities were a huge help in making our stay go smoothly. We cooked almost every meal at home in the spacious, well-equipped kitchen. Owner was super-responsive. The marina staff was very helpful and it was so convenient to have them drop the boat in, gas and ice it for trips, then wash it & flush the motors as it came out. We love the area, and as usual saw dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, stingrays, etc. Went offshore fishing, paddle boarding, and wakeboarding. We beached at Stump Pass, Manasota Key, Boca Grande, Don Pedro/Palm Island, & Cayo Costa. During our stay, the pool was closed, but that is not on the owner - it was a result of the exorbitant cost of current COVID compliance procedures for the marina facility. Highly recommend! Under the Hargaden's ownership, you'll feel like a friend getting to use their house while they're away.

Rotonda golf trip
Great setup. With beds on different floors, you can spread out and have privacy. The third floor kitchen/dining room/TV room was a great place for all to meet up. Pat was very accommodating and very quick to respond to any questions. We’d highly recommend and will be going back again!

Perfect Staycation
We've been staying at this condo for the past several summers (with previous host and now with Patrick)
We live about 90 minutes away and this is perfect staycation!
We bring our boat and dock at the adjacent Cape Haze Marina. Even if you don't bring your boat, you can sit on one of the 4 outdoor decks/patios to watch the activity around the marina. We saw the 2 "resident" manatees several times on our recent visit.
There is ample room in the condo to have guests, yet also have some privacy.
The kitchen is well equipped - you could make anything from a family Sunday dinner to just warming up take out.
New furniture in the living room area - plenty of seating!
The in-home elevator makes "moving in" an ease. Also helps when bringing back groceries.
Each bedroom has ample closet space to hang your clothes and store away your luggage.
Plenty of linens are available.
There is a Publix (grocery) about a mile away. Several great restaurants - Leverocks & Lighthouse Grill are our favorites and both are waterfront.
Patrick is a most gracious as a host. I feel like he is a family friend!
