About this apartment rental

Beautifully restored apartment overlooking beautiful downtown Bardstown, KY. Experience all that Bardstown has to offer with shopping, great food and a vibrant nightlife. Spend a relaxing night in your completely private 1200 sq. ft. apartment above our quaint Soap & Candle Shop (Making Good Scentz). Enjoy a brand new spa-like bathroom and newly designed layout featuring private bedrooms with queen beds as well as a pull out convertible couch that creates a full-size bed. Each room has Televisions with Cable TV. Complimentary wifi is also available. Designated parking in back. Coffee, tea, water and light snacks provided. Living room also includes a work desk for our business travelers.

Just a short walk to many amenities including food, bars, nightlife, drug stores, groceries as well as many local historical and Kentucky Bourbon Trail activities.

The apartment is located on the second floor above our soap and candle shop. Each booking will receive a guest sample pack of items (soaps/lotions/lip balms, sugar scrubs and lotion bars) as part of your nights stay as a complimentary gift. Amenities include: Soap/shampoo, coffee, tea, water and light snacks. Keyless entry alleviates the need to get "checked in".

Very convenient location. We walked everywhere with our little dog. Beautifully decorated. Wish we had stayed longer.

Great downtown location, clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was nice. Fully equipped kitchen. The gift basket was a nice touch. The only drawback is the stairs, there is no easy way to get into this property. The fire escape stairs in the back are rusty and scary and hard to navigate and the front wooden stairs have no rail. The patio could also use an update. We really did enjoy our stay overall.

Very clean, well equipped, spacious modern apartment in a great location downtown. The stairs to the second floor apartment are metal and outdoors although it appears another indoor entrance is being rennovated. Good value and comfortable place to stay.

Perfect for our stay! Plenty of room, and right in town, walking distance to the tavern, Mammy’s Kitchen and a liquor/tasting store as well as many cute shops. Checked in after an amazing tour at Maker’s Mark Distillery. Would definitely stay again.

We had no idea what Bardstown was, only that it was a central town in between the distilleries we planned to visit. The town is adorable and this apartment is right in the heart of it all. Very clean and well appointed. Enjoyed our stay and would absolutely consider staying again.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay in the heart of Bardstown. Conveniently located within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and a brewery. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. It was very nice to have a washer and dryer so we could do our laundry prior to returning home. We would definitely stay here again.

Cutest little apartment above the cutest soap and candle shop! Owner was a lovely host, gifting us with goodies from their soap and candle store. Apartment is in the heart of downtown Bardstown, with walkable access to everything. HIGHLY recommend!

Weekend getaway for bourbon tasting and Churchill Downs. We loved getting back to the property and being steps away from dining and bar options. We started as a party of two but another couple we were traveling with had a reservation at a different property that canceled on them and we were easily able to have them stay with us in this apartment. Apartment was roomy for four of us. We’ll look this place up first the next time we stay in Bardstown!

The apartment was very clean and well stocked with all of the needed necessities for our visit. Owner always responded quickly for any questions we had during the booking process and visit. Bardstown was very convenient for distillery visits, restaurants and shops. Great breakfast place beneath the apartment. Short drive to our final destination in downtown Louisville for the Derby. Highly recommend this property for an enjoyable stay in Bardstown.

This is such a great property. Stayed after hitting the races at Keeneland. Great location, walkable to so much and very short drive to numerous distilleries. The space was beautiful and the hosts go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. No question this will be my go to staying in Bardstown!

We love our bourbon trail home base to be in bardstown. Steves unit is in the perfect spot right downtown. Very clean and has all you need for your stay. He even leaves a sample box of special soaps and scents from his store in bardstown. Easy walking distance to all of the restaurants and bars.

The apartment was very nice and comfortable. So cute, above a store front. They gave us adequate supplies to get through our stay, Clean up/check out could not have been easier. We could walk to all of our activities from our apartment.

Accommodations were as described and had everything needed for a long weekend trip. The location is in the heart of town and central to all the restaurants and shops but is still very quiet. It is a perfect home base if you’re planning to visit the local distilleries. I highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

The property was very clean!! We had a great two days on the Bourbon Trail and this rental was the perfect location!! Make sure you swing downstairs and check out the soap, lotions, and wax melts!

My best friend & I loved this apartment! The 2 bedrooms perfectly suited our needs & the space was very well done. It was clean, easily accessible via stairs, & right in the middle of downtown Bardstown within easy walking distance of restaurants, bars, & shops. We loved the products provided by the owners from their store below the apartment & had to stop in to buy more! Communication with the owner was great...quick & detailed responses with lots of local recommendations. We would definitely stay here again, if we're ever in the area!

This apartment was ideal for touring Bardstown. It was beautiful, clean, and perfectly situated right on the downtown strip with immediate walking access to all downtown amenities. Steve, the owner, was very helpful and communicative. I'd definitely recommend this location and would rent from Steve again : )

While not a large apartment, the design and galley layout of this property was surprisingly bigger than the pictures made it appear and that, coupled with the location of being right in the middle of the main drag and a short walk to many restaurants, bars, etc. of Bardstown, gave it a big-city vibe. I would’ve given a bit more than 4 stars if I could but there were a couple small wrinkles here and there with the biggest being the WiFi. In a nutshell, it was inconsistent and spotty. Phones had the biggest difficulty (which obviously is easily overcome) but would give us the warning “Weak security” so we switched to our tablets, which struggled too unfortunately. It would say “Incorrect password” on one but then immediately log in the other using the same code. At various times, I would be reading an email but the next minute lose connection and not be able to open links or attachments more than once for 15-30 minutes at a time. We were glad we didn’t come here a day early as working remotely from a laptop on Friday would’ve been out of the question. All in all, it is a great place in a wonderful location and well worth booking if you don’t plan/need to work from here or have companions with WiFi-reliant devices.
