'The Clifftop' is set in an unparalleled position on the cliff edge towering above the Paleokastritsa coastline with “one of the best views in the Mediterranean” according to cruise ship itineraries. However, from The Clifftop, the scenery and wild herb scented air is yours alone to take in and enjoy. Evenings, watch the awe-inspiring Santorini-like sunset, as the last day tripping boats leave Paradise Beach and the sea caves below. The Clifftop is approached through an ancient olive grove offering shaded green, privacy, tranquility and the sound of warm breezes rustling through the olive branches.
At your doorstep are miles of unmade track ideal for exploring by foot, mountain bike or 4x4, plus easy access to the Corfu Trail. Despite the privacy and seclusion, Corfu Town is only a 20 minute drive away.
The Clifftop is designed with wide sliding doors on three sides of the large 14m x 5.5m living area. When opened, the indoors merge with the outside terraces to the northeast plus the pool terrace to the west, making one huge space from which to enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle. In addition to a modern, well equipped kitchen a grill is provided for your outdoor bbqs. WIFI broadband means that you can stay in touch while relaxing in nature. The Clifftop is ideal for family celebrations, romantic getaways and gatherings with friends.
The infinity pool perched on the edge of the rugged cliffs offers views over some of the best beaches in Corfu. In addition to the sparkling blue and turquoise waters, you may also spot falcons and hawks swooping among the rocky outcrops. Lying in the waters immediately to the front of the villa is the small, wild, uninhabited island of Koliviri, above which birds can be seen soaring on the warm thermals.
Giannades village, approximately 2km away, has two coffee shops, two tavernas serving tasty locally sourced food, a cafe/creperie, post office, two kiosks, several small grocery shops and a local butcher. The village square is a very pleasant place to watch the world go by as you take in the views over the green valley below.
Some of the outer village roads around Giannades, including a 1km stretch leading to the property, do not have tarmac surfaces. This is common in many areas of Corfu and preserves the villa's quiet seclusion and rural charm. Guests may prefer to hire a 4x4 vehicle for additional comfort while visiting, which would also allow them to explore deeper into the unspoiled surrounding countryside.
The villa stands on towering cliffs 250 meters above the sea. This fabulous position, crafted by nature, provides awe-inspiring views and great privacy, but please keep everyone safe, especially children, by staying away from the cliff edge which although guarded still needs to be treated with respect.
'The Clifftop' has been inspected and certificated by the E.O.T. (Greek Tourism Organisation). Registration number 0829K10000263501.
Additional Information:
Waves can be heard lapping on the shores of the Bay of Krouza, which is situated directly below The Clifftop. From Krouza there are many kilometers of crystal clear beaches which extend onwards to the turquoise bays of Paleokastritsa. The beaches along this stretch have been ranked in the Top 10 Best Beaches in Greece. The main beaches of Paleokastrisa can be reached by car in around 15 minutes as can the pebbly beaches at Liapades and Rovinia, the latter made famous by Emma Tennant's book 'A House in Corfu.' The Blue Flag beach at Ermones is a 10 minute drive and just a few minutes further on are the extensive sandy beaches of the west coast of Corfu, including Glyfada, Pelekas and Agios Gordios. These latter beaches are popular with families due to the safe and gentle slope of the sand bar.
Liapades, the village just north of the villa, is located in a deep-cut bay, its view out to the sea fringed by forested hillsides. As you gaze along the Paleokastritsa coastline, few buildings are in sight, which might constrain your sense of time and place. Boats can be rented in Liapades and Paleokastritsa which will allow you to explore the long coastline visible from The Clifftop, including its many fine beaches and caves. One example includes, Limni, a spectacular double-sided beach which links a small promontory with the coast. More generally, you will experience beautiful golden sand beaches tucked beneath jagged limestone cliffs and hillsides blanketed in a patchwork of green.
Other nearby attractions include Corfu Town, a world heritage site, exuding warmth and charm with its cobble stoned streets, bougainvillea filled squares, awe-inspiring Venetian architecture, significant historical sites, chic boutiques, and noteworthy restaurant scene. For golfers, there is a respected 18 hole Championship course near Ermones and for children (or adults who are kids at heart), there is the nearby Aqualand Water Park.

The location, views, and villa were stunning. The owner and property manager were very friendly and accommodating. A remarkable place where we felt well cared for.

Stunning views and secluded location
We recently spent two weeks at this house. The location and views were stunning and the villa as displayed. The owner and the property manager were very friendly and accomodating. As the house is surrounded by nature there are a lot of wasps and I recommend that people who have an allergy to wasps should be careful when going outside at the pool area during day time. The beds are not the most comfortable but it is made up by a nice gym, with pool and ping pong table. The kitchen is well equipped with all what you need. The next supermarket / town is around 10 min drive. I recommend only more experienced drivers to drive as the road to the villa is bumpy. The only beach closeby requires a 30 min hike down a steep hill and the cliffs, but the beach (Yalli beach) is worth it and the workout during the ascent makes it even more rewarding.
