We had a very enjoyable stay at the villa - it is rustic but charming with a very relaxing feel to it. The price is very fair as the villa was spotless and well equipped. We loved hanging out on the deck cooking on the BBQ. The owners are on the property, while this may put some people off, we found it a very positive experience. The young couple and their two boys were so welcoming and friendly and could not do enough to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. A huge thanks to them as without this accommodation we would not have been able to go to Soundsplash with our kids.

We love Raglan and loved being back. The good points about the property: convenient for town and beaches; rooms good sizes; beds comfortable; large verandah with good seating; plenty of hot water; easy parking; friendly hosts. The less good bits: (1) The house is a bit more ‘tired’ than we’d expected. For example, carpets very old and stained in places. (2) Outside area overgrown and untended, particularly along the driveway, making the property appear scruffy and run down. (3) It was not made clear before booking that the hosts would be living in a sleep-out in the garden while we lived in their house. We found this uncomfortable. This also meant that, for some of our stay, we did not have the privacy that we had expected to have, with the children playing in the garden and people walking back and forth to cars. We appreciated that the family spent some of our booking elsewhere. The property was very private and peaceful during this time. Overall, we had a great month in the sun, visiting family and friends. We would not book this property again, for the reasons noted, but enjoyed our stay and it (mostly) met our needs.
