About this cottage rental
Mid 19th century, recently restored cottage, next to church in the centre of the beautiful village of Dunster with its castle and medieval yarn market. It is situated ideally in the village on a quiet, residential street but within a couple of minutes walk of all the facilities in Dunster, including the Castle.
Floral Cottage has been decorated in keeping with its age but to give a light, airy feeling and finished with quality and antique furnishings.
The ground floor consists of living area with large fireplace (a wood burning stove will be fitted from mid September 2020), underfloor heating, dining area and fully fitted kitchen leading out to a walled patio area with garden table and chairs.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, the front bedroom has a kingsized bed and the smaller back bedroom is fitted with two single beds. There is a family bathroom with over bath power shower. Gas central heating via radiators is provided upstairs.
Parking is available on the road opposite the cottage, further up the road and around the corner.
Use of a shared communal garden is also available
A welcome pack of grocery essentials together with a homemade cake and fresh flowers will be provided in the cottage on arrival.

Delightful Dunster, a beautiful village located at the gateway to Exmoor National Park. The cottage was homely and we were made to feel very welcome. The location is perfect for walking into the village and to Dunster Castle, and well placed for exploring Exmoor. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect cottage for a weekend away. Great location. Very comfy beds and delicious cake on arrival!

This an extremely well appointed cottage in a delightful village. The owner, Janet, is very attentive available and quick too respond to the smallest issue - and we had only one very minor thing to contact her about.
On arrival, cake and tea were provided which was lovely after a long day of travel. The cottage has everything you could imagine for a comfortable stay basic food stuffs like tea, coffee, fresh milk salt pepper salad dressing, oils and so on - all there.
Dunster itself is as we remember it from a previous visit. As Canadians we love the English village experience and this is quintessentially English to be sure. The pubs we remember have all suffered from COVID and some - the Stags Head - are closed despite the website saying it isn’t and all pubs require bookings for meals. So no more ambling about without a plan and popping into a pub for a beer and a ploughmans. A first world problem really but for a short stay one to keep in mind. Book your meals at the Luttrell Arms in advance is my tip.
Thanks you Janet for another fantastic stay in your lovely cottage.

Everything about our stay was excellent. The moment we walked through the door we were relaxed. The cottage was beautifully clean, it smelt amazing and there were extra touches to make us feel welcome. The log basket was full; there was cake left on the dining table; the Christmas tree lights were on; there was a loaf of bread, teabags, milk and butter to get us started. Janet has simply thought of everything.

Lovely small cottage.
We spent four wonderful days in the cottage, which was very comfortable and fully equipped. The homemade cake on arrival was a thoughtful gesture. The cottage was a good base for us to explore the local area. We ate in the restaurants in Dunster and on each evening had delicious meals.

Very helpful host, I had some bad news whilst I was away and she was very sympathetic and helpful to us.

We had to cut our journey short, but plan to go back again as soon as life is settled down again.

Very nice cottage, very clean with nice furniture and a comfy bed. All as described by the owner, who was excellent in her communications with us , a small courtyard garden but it had a table and seats and as we were very lucky with the weather we did use it, small communal garden at the end of the cottages was slightly odd as not sure if we were using some other families seating. Loads of places to go in and around Dunster we love this area and would certainly use this cottage again. Good WiFi if you need that, we would have liked a smart tv to access iplayer etc but we used our iPad instead. And thank you Janet for a lovely cake and things you left to welcome us

Better than 'home from home'
Review title reflects much was better/more interesting than home - eg comfy bed and bedlinen, shape of dinner plates!
Couldn't have been cleaner or better equipped. Great atmosphere as if you could tell the owners loved their cottage and they wanted you to as well.

Lovely cosy cottage
Stayed for a few days with our young granddaughter. Absolutely loved the cottage, lovingly refurbished and decorated and furnished in keeping with its age. It was not long after lockdown but we felt very safe, the place was spotless, with cleaning materials and sanitizers there for your use. Felt very welcome, the owner added lovely touches like home made cake, flowers and other goodies and responded very quickly to any queries. The cottage backs on to the church and we loved hearing the church bells, but they didn't keep us awake, we all slept like babies, it was so comfy and cosy. There was a small back yard with a table and chairs and plants, plus a shared pretty private garden is just along the road if you want to sit out on the grass. Very well appointed accommodation, everything you could need was there. Free WiFi was the cherry on top!

Amazing little cottage in a wonderful village!
Floral cottage was fantastic! I stayed here on my first ever solo travel experience and Janet could not have been more helpful. To say she went about and beyond would be an understatement! The cottage was perfectly formed, comfortable and adorably decorated. Dunster itself is amazing! Having traveled to a lot of places around the world it quickly won my heart and is nowmy favority place in the world. The people were unbelievably friendly, from the volunteers and staff at the castle to the shop keepers and even local people I met on the bus. Floral cottage is located right in the middle of the village so it is an easy walk to the castle (2 min) and to the little shops on the main street (3 min). I cannot recommend this place highly enough and will be returning very soon :)

Comfortable cottage in historic village
We have just returned from a very relaxing 10 days at Floral cottage. The cottage provided everything we needed and it was an excellent base from which to explore North Somerset. It was great to be just two minutes walk from the Castle and very close (but not too close ...) to various places to eat out. Recommend.

Floral Cottage
Lovely well equipped cottage , walking distance to Dunster centre, cake , flowers, milk left for us even though we were only staying 3 nights. Only issue might be with the parking, but we never used our car and were able to park outside the cottage. Certainly will be back for a longer stay next time

Lovely cottage, great location, perfect for our weekend
Beautifully presented cottage - it has a traditional feel but the benefit of modern amenities. Great location, easy walking distance to village centre and multitude of restaurants and bars, and easy driving distance to Minehead. Extra little touches little yummy cake, flowers and tea/coffee/milk, bread and butter on arrival made all the difference. Thank-you for a lovely stay in your beautiful cottage - highly recommend this charming cottage.

A beautiful cottage in a lovely part of the world.
We had three nights at the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's very cosy - especially the beds - and tastefully furnished. The owners left flowers and a delicious lemon cake on our arrival - which was a lovely touch - as well as a small grocery starter pack.
Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they were easily contactable and quick to respond. Dunster is a delightful village, and we had a great day at the castle and mill, and another walking on Exmoor where we saw the famous wild ponies.
We'll definitely be going back to Dunster, and I'd have no hesitation in staying at this cottage again or recommending it to others.
