About this apartment rental
This elegant Victorian Period three bedroom flat is located in Hyndland in the heart of Glasgow’s fashionable and historic West End. Hyndland is the true gem of the West End; a virtually intact neighbourhood of Victorian tenements that is like traveling back in time. Located at the top of the hill in a quiet tree lined street above Hyndland Bowling Green, the apartment has unrivalled breathtaking views across the Westend skyline and, further afield, landmarks on the river Clyde, the Campsie Fells and the hills of Dumgoyne. This stunning traditional red sandstone flat of over 1900 square feet comprises of six spacious rooms retaining many original features, including period fireplaces in each room, hardwood floors, and corniced high ceilings. All rooms in this elegant flat are wonderfully peaceful and private, and the flat has been included as a filming location for a BBC4 programme.
The lounge features dramatic views from an enchanting five window turret where you can watch the day start in this peaceful neighbourhood. The room is handsomely decorated with period furniture throughout and includes a television, multi-region DVD player and cd player. The recently renovated kitchen is very spacious and features a two sided cooking/preparation area, dishwasher, Nespresso and Delonghi coffee machines, panini maker, and a large kitchen/dining table which can seat four. An adjacent utility room includes a large fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/dryer. In addition, a separate formal dining room provides a lovely atmosphere for evenings, and can also serve as an office space for visiting professionals. Each comfortable and quiet double bedroom is fully carpeted and a long hallway leads to all of the rooms in the apartment, making each very private. All of the three bedrooms are uniquely themed and attractively furnished. Guests are provided with luxurious down comforters and pillows (non-allergen available on request) and plush bath towels. Free wifi is provided throughout the flat, and there is an extensive library of books, including regional guidebooks, for you to enjoy during your stay.

We loved our stay here! Close to transport, restaurants, pubs and the Uni! Great place to walk about and get lost. Margaret met us and made us feel very welcome. Also met the neighbours across the way at #5. Classic very friendly Glaswegians! Invited me in for a wee glass.

I am currently traveling through Scotland and England with my wife and two adult children. We just stayed at the Hyndland flat; we checked out of there this morning. Overall, our stay was very good. The flat is in a nice, quiet neighborhood that is close to a lot of restaurants and shops, and it’s only a 6-8 minute walk to the train station. We used the train several times to get to City Center and to Edinburgh. There are lots of things to see and do in those two places alone. In addition to places to eat, there are a couple of bars and a small grocery store in the immediate area. Multiple restaurants, bars, and Kelvingrove Art Museum are all within a 15-20 minute walk. The flat is set up nice. There’s a fully furnished kitchen to those that want to prepare a meal or two, and the place is comfortable. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat, but there are two issues that came up with my wife and kids. First, you’ll have to climb three flights of stairs to get to the flat. People with mobility issues, or people carrying large bags of luggage, or groceries, might have a problem with that. I knew what I was getting when I booked this- I read the reviews- but the stairs, multiple times a day, always carrying something, can be a pain. The only other thing I can, or will, document, is the amount of noise the floors make. There are hard wood floors pretty much throughout the flat, and other than a few spots, every step you take will creek. If you’re staying alone, it’s not a big deal, but If there are others that like to sleep in a bit, they won’t get the extra sleep (unless you pick a spot and stay there). I’m an early riser, and just walking to the bathroom or kitchen to make coffee, it felt like I was waking everyone in the flat with me, and probably those below. Other than these two things, I’d say the place is perfect. It really is. If you don’t mind climbing stairs several times a day, after walking all day, or squeaky floors, this place really is for you.

Superb
Wonderful accommodation in a lovely part of Glasgow. Comfortable, clean and spacious. Quiet at night. Near to tube station for easy access. Went to Loch Lomand and Stirling by train.
Botanic gardens in Glasgow are a lovely place to visit.
Thank you to Margaret for her introduction to the property.
Highly recommend.

First time in Glasgow
Apartment is in a good location in the west end. We thoroughly enjoyed the mix of old world charm and updated kitchen/bathroom. Very spacious and charming. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful space and location
Overall this property was really special. There were a few minor items that could do with improvement (non working radios, blunt kitchen knives, weak shower pressure) but the important things were between good and spectacular.

A happy visit.
The apartment was spacious and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and cosy. Local shops nearby as well as good transport links into the city.
The views from the lounge window were amazing - - chimney tops close by and all the way to mountains in the distance when looking in two directions. The dusk skies offering a variety of changing colours.

Lovely Flat
My husband and I came to Glasgow with our 2 daughters from Canada. We’ll recommend this flat to our friends. The hosts were lovely, the location is central to activities and public transportation. It’s a quick walk to the Hop On Hop Off tourist Bus and trains. We loved the flat. It was clean and comforting to come home to after a long day out! Everything you need is available, and it’s quiet. Perfect.

Perfectly located luxury flat
We enjoyed our stay at this Hyndland flat. It is beautiful and spacious. The flat has 3 lovely, well appointed bedrooms. The kitchen fits the era of the home, yet it’s completely new with everything one would need and sparkling clean. This home feels like a real home, with the lovingly cared for antiques and books, not just a rental property.
The views are amazing. From the living room we could watch the sunset and see the lights go on in the flats around us, which makes one feel a part of this lovely neighborhood.
We walked to shops and restaurants and always felt comfortable and safe.
I would recommend you stay here to feel like you actually live in Glasgow!
One warning: you may end up just staying in one day, (as we did), to laze around and enjoy this luxurious, homey, & comfortable flat...and miss a few sights of Glasgow!

Lovely Property in a Terrific Neighbourhood
Everything was as advertised and more! Beds were very comfortable and common space for sharing our day was great. There were great restaurants within a 10 minute walk and the train station made getting around quite easy. Really enjoyed our stay!

A wonderful period apartment in a beautiful area
A relaxing week here in a comfortable and well equipped apartment. We especially liked the views from the lovely large sitting room. We found the area of Hyndland very pleasant and we were able to travel into the city centre many times as the local railway station was only a 5 minute walk. The reason for us awarding the accommodation 4 rather than 5 stars is that the only toilet is in the bathroom!

Fantastic stay
A large, airy, clean apartment, full of character in a beautiful Glasgow area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is located brilliantly for both local strolls and exploring further afield.

Lovely period apartment
We had a lovely stay at the queensborough apartment. It was a beautiful period home and was clean, spacious and comfortable. All rooms were well appointed. The stairs were a bit tough on us seniors but i believe that had been mentioned in the ad so it was a small inconvenience compared to everything else being wonderful!

We had lovely stay. The flat is in beautiful area close to shops and some nice cafes and restaurants. Walking distance to Kelvingrove Park, Botanical Gardens etc. Train station is 5min walk away. We arrived little bit late, but were warmly welcomed and showed around. Flat is beautifully decorated and we loved the little details. Views from windows are stunning and it was lovely and relaxing to chill after day of exploring Glasgow. I would definitely recommend and stay again. Thank you for having us.

Picturesque
A beautiful example of a period home in a wonderful neighborhood that provided easy access to all the city had to offer.
The home was perfect for my family, and provided all the comforts of home.
(Margaret was also very helpful and gracious).
If you are going to Glasgow this home would be a perfect supplement to your 18/19th century Glasgow experience.
