Very spacious accommodation. Dog friendly. We stayed on a chilly autumn night and the central heating was easy to work and very warm. Comfortable lounge with smart tv. Everything very clean. Good pub next door. We had evening meal there and enjoyed it. The pub and accommodation are tucked away in a picturesque quiet corner and the pub is not rowdy. We had no noise from the pub next door. Overall excellent.
Nothing really. Some of the furnishings are a bit dated, but as long as you can survive without a brand new kitchen, this is clean and comfortable dog friendly accommodation that is nicely placed for the south lakes. The staff are great and its super value for money.

Comfy, big bedroom. Cosy downstairs. Big kitchen table to sit round playing games (provided). Downstairs bathroom as well as upstairs. Kids loved tv in bedroom. 10 mins away from safari park.
Only white blinds, no curtains.

The location we had dogs it was ideal for them
As it was an old property not I deal for an someone with walking issues or an elderly person who had a walking issue and needed a stick . there was a step between bathroom and bedroom the same and kitchen & lounge which you could easily fall over if you were not used to the step being there.

Very dog friendly. Very spacious cottage. Great pub with excellent food next door

The location is really nice and the cottage is bigger than it looks from the outside, the wow factor hit as soon as we got inside ,very clean and spacious ,we all slept really well the beds are very comfortable rooms are really big a bathroom up and down stairs plus tv in every room
This place is really amazing
Check in was easy and the host and staff at the pub next door are brilliant
Only thing I didn't like was the fact we had to leave and go home haha

The cottage was fabulous and had everything we needed plus lots of extras! Within 10 minutes of entering we were looking to see if we could book for next summer but was already sold out. Unsurprising as the property really is a hidden gem! We only stayed for one night at ate in the pub, the food was a lovely and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. If we can find availability we hope to come back!

Great location, garden, rooms, was very dog-friendly, and a pub that serves real ales on the door-step 👍!

Location is perfect with good pub next door.
Kitchen and Bathrooms look newly refurbished and were very good.
Double Bed was very squeaky. Getting on and off it or rolling onto other side made a lot of creaking noises that would wake others in the room

Absolutely beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Had everything you needed and more. It was clean and comfortable in a lovely traditional cottage with modern touches.

Great cottage right next door to the pub, yet not noisy even on a sunny Friday night.
Food is excellent quality and great value.

Garden was lovely in the sun watching the birds nesting, the cottage was lovely and well equipped.
The double bed was comfortable but the wooden frame had loose bolts and was quite squeaky.

location was lovely, easy enough to find. Parking was fine in the pub car park tho you will need to check if you need a code to get out of it on a morning if you intend going out early.
The upstairs shower was amazing - has to be the worlds most powerful shower ever.
Large lawned garden ideal for kids to play out in, have dinner or chill
If you were a large family this would hit a good price point - not so much for a lone traveller on this occasion.
The main big bed was super comfy with a topper on it all the other single beds looked a bit saggy in the middle - glad i am the grown up..
bathroom upstairs and downstairs so great for families or if you dont want to keep going upstairs to the loo!
I thought the kitchen needed either a really good clean or a really good make over - very tired looking making it look grubby.
The tap was broken as someone else has said, the cooker oven didn't work either. Tho, that maybe my ineptitude and a lack of instructions.
The pans/cooking tins need replacing and one actually the handle fell off when it was full as they are a bit past their best - sorry put it in the bin.
If you do have a dog be aware that the garden is not secure at the far end but its a lovely space to let your four legged friend out.
None of the TVs upstairs works - would be better just to remove them - kids wont miss them and will be fine on tablets/phones as the wifi was fab.
Step in the kitchen needs some warning tape on it that's big drop down if your not ready for it - young children will need to be watched

Great, characterful place to stay for family + dog. Ideal little grassed space with table out the back to sit and for the dog to relax. Clean, modern sleeping spaces with great shower and good heating. It had everything you could want on a stay away. Location was great and Dalton has some easy to walk to takeaways and eat out places from The Brown Cow.
Beds were too soft for us and perhaps the kitchen could do with a wee clean up in the cupboards.

Location to the Safari Zoo
Train station nearby
We wanted accommodation for a night only as we was visiting the local safari zoo. The Brown Cow was a property able to accommodate 5 of us for our stay. Two adults, a teenager & two young people.
The accommodation on the pictures do do this please justice. It looks small from outside bur wow once you enter you realise you've got a bargain. We was immediately at home, felt relaxed & got settled.
With a cosy lounge, fully equipped kitchen (amazing oven) with access to a small garden space & a bonus downstairs toilet/shower/bath.
Upstairs was the lovely sized master bedroom with a double & single bedroom with a little balcony. The main bathroom with walk in shower & separate bedroom with twin beds.
The hosts were fantastic with communication & resolved an issue with the sky TV sending a staff member round to amend the problem.
The owners even agreed to looking after our luggage whilst we went to the zoo after check out.
Fantastic accommodation for a family of 5, in a great location to explore the surrounding areas & a bonus pub/restaurant next door.
Would definitely recommend & we was disappointed we couldn't of done a couple more days.
Thanks to the owners if you read this & the tvs in the bedroom is only constructive criticism on a fantastic little thing you have.
Loved everything
Exceeded expectations
Only negative was tvs in bedrooms had no signal & couldn't use - this did not detract from our stay & would definitely return.

The size of the property was great looks small from the outside but is massive inside. Has everything you need for a nice break away. Home from home.

The cottage was warm and welcoming, would recommend and stay again.
