Absolutely what the doctor ordered! We wanted peace and quiet, and that's exactly what we got. Our host, Cash, is a most interesting gentleman. He offered us any amenities around the property, including the use of his fly rods. This place is NOT amongst the hustle and bustle of a town/city, but if you want to get away from everything, this is the place to go. Ideal launching pad for various hikes. We even saw 4 moose on one of our drives.
Another highlight was Nikkii. There were some food items in the fridge with a note that said, 'For Nikkii'. We asked, 'Who's Nikkii'? Cash's reply was, 'You'll see'. Soon after we were greeted by a mother fox with 3 kits. Nikkii will take the food right out of your hand.
Bear Cabin certainly isn't fancy, but it's homey.
Another bonus point: You get to brush up on all the various subspecies of hummingbirds (piranhas with wings) that Colorado has to offer. :)
Definitely would stay again!

Cash (Host) was really great and more then willing to help us with anything we needed. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the cabin but, it was more than sufficient for us. We will definitely stay again. Thank you Cash for making us feel at home and giving us a perfect little cabin while we were there.

We had the opportunity to spend a long weekend in this beautiful spot. The river, wild life, location and Mr. Cash’s guidance made for a wonderful experience. The cabin’s quaint charm had everything you might need or forgot to bring. We highly recommend staying here and hopefully plan on returning soon!
Such a relaxing beautiful place!

Really enjoyed the stay. The timing was just as the colors were starting to change. The temperatures were great. The scenery up to the cabin was great. Best thing for me was how peaceful it was. The stars at night relly put on a show when the moon was not out. We had a full moon at the end of our week. Plenty of things to do in thr area. Hiking, fishing, biking , horse riding and Aspen and Glenwood Springs close by if you felt the need for Civilization. The cabin was comfortable and came equipped with anything you may have forgotten. Fish were plentiful, foxes come to visit a couple times a day. Chipmunks are a constant, as are birds. Deer and sheep were out during or drives, owls were out durind our riverside fires in the fire pit. Cash (owner) was genuinely friendly and nice. Definitely would do this again!

I wanted to end my two-week visit to Colorado with a time for unplugging, contemplation, relaxation, and enjoying the beauty of Colorado. I found that at Clear Water Cabins and more. The flowing river, beautiful pines and aspens, flowers, hummingbirds, foxes, hawks, fish, made for a rejuvenating and fulfilling stay. My host, Cash, was so welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. Bear Cabin was fully equipped, clean and cozy and I slept like a baby in the dark and quiet forest. This is a perfect location for a getaway like mine, or for fishing and hunting nearby.

If you are looking for a cabin off the beaten path on a trout stream, this is the place for you. Our stay was very relaxing and we caught fish. It is a place where you can unwind. The property has beautiful gardens. There are four hummingbird feeders that keep you entertained. The host respects your privacy, but at the same time is very responsive to your needs. I miss the spectacular view out the kitchen window of the aspens, columbine and trout stream.

Cash is a great host and provides cabins with full amenities! His manicured property is covered with flowers and swarmed by hummingbirds. A fox family visits the cabins throughout the day, and the sound of the river makes you forget about the worries of civilization!
If you are in the area for any of its outdoor adventures, I highly recommend staying here… but you may not want to leave the property!

The setting and cabin were beyond expectations. Special thanks to our host, Cash. He was especially generous with his time. He shared the history of the area along with a tour of his property. We sat for hours along the river, just soaking it all in. Can’t wait to go back!

Our stay was a very peaceful and relaxing experience and a nice and cozy cabin with everything we needed to stay in. Cash is an excellent host and it was a pleasure to meet him and be reassured that he is close by if we needed anything. Seeing and feeding the fox was an added bonus. The property is in a very picturesque area with wildlife and plenty of natural beauty.

This place is absolutely beautiful and the owner is so welcoming and nice! We stayed for our Anniversary and loved it! The river next to the cabin is beautiful to sit and listen to with coffee or a glass of wine. You will also see plenty of wildlife in this area. Foxes and plenty of hummingbirds! We will definitely be back!

Check in was easy! Thank you to Cash for being very hospitable. The cabin was perfect for a getaway. Amazing views on the way. Kitchen stocked with utensils, there’s detergent, heater + everything you need is there!! Managed to get a fox that visits on video, from the front porch, he had taken an egg. So cute. Good fishing and hunting spots near location, with National Forest nearby and beautiful scenery. First time in CO. Don’t get me started on the stars. Great spots for stargazing up in the mountains. Small towns nearby for stock ups or night out. Wonderful experience!!

Beautifully landscaped main grounds around the cabin and toward the river. Very quiet, you can hear the river all night long. 8,000 feet and no light pollution = amazing views of the night sky - make a point of looking up!
Property is fairly remote - neighbors nearby but NO cell service. That's a plus in my mind, but be prepared for it.

My wife and I just left this wonderful property after two days and wished we had booked for more. The comfortable rustic cabin (Bear Cabin) is only 60' or so from a fairly fast-running river that has that hypnotic sound that we all love. The cabin is located about 25 miles off the grid and is perfect for a quiet time. We didn't have cell service, but we didn't care! The wildlife (deer, mink, chipmunks, and more) was exactly what a nature lover would love. As if that wasn't enough, there are hummingbirds EVERYWHERE and, as others have mentioned, a beautiful and friendly fox named "Gravy" who pops by for visits every day (for us, at least). Lastly, the owner, "Cash", is simply a joy to be around, a very interesting man, and a great host. Don't miss this "diamond in the rough".

My wife and I stayed two nights in early July. The cabin and property are excellent. Our host, Cash, was even better. He checked on us when we arrived and again the next day. He was friendly, hospitable and a joy to get to know. The cabin had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay, including cooking dinner both nights. The river was beautiful. The area was super quiet. Local Fox "Gravy" visited both nights. We took a short drive during the day into the national forest and got even more remote. We didn't stray from the SUV very long because we didn't bring bear spray. Wish we would have remembered that. We can't recommend this place and Cash enough!!

If you’re even considering booking, don’t wait another second. This was the best vacation rental experience I’ve ever had. The property itself was idyllic, like something out of a fairy tale—dozens of hummingbirds around the cabin, wild foxes coming to visit, the river running past—all incredible. The landscape is beautifully put together, quaking aspens and delightful wildflowers. Our host, Cash, was amazing—a joy to talk to and there for anything we needed. We’re excited to come back and see this beautiful place during another season!

Little Piece of Heaven
This was a little piece of heaven ! It was quiet and remote. The property was lovely and our host, Cash, was kind and an amazing host.
The hummingbirds (which were everywhere), the nightly visit of the fox "Gravy" and the river that ran by the property, were the highlights of our stay.
The cabin had EVERYTHING you could possibly need.
We hope to visit again .
