This delightful cottage was perfect for us. We loved the quiet location and felt very relaxed as soon as we arrived. All the rooms were spotless and very tastefully decorated with some lovely pieces of local art. Also very close to nice cafes, restaurants and shops.

Lovely cottage, modern fittings and original features blended well. Well equipped and a convenient location. Shame the galleries in the village weren’t open as it was out of season and limited eating out options. Local people friendly and helpful. Would go again

First time in Pittenweem. The flat was small but we didn’t need anything bigger. Space had been used carefully and was well furnished. When the wood burning stove got going it made for a cosy experience. Pleasant seafront area nearby and Anstruther is only half a mile or so away. St. Andrews is about 20 minutes by car. Well worth a short visit (three nights for us).

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, tips on how too get the most out of the wood burner would have been good and an explanation on how heating worked.

We love Pittenweem. The Kirkgate Cottage is right around the corner from High Street, just a few steps to two cafes, two pubs, an upscale restaurant, pharmacy/grocery and several art galleries. It's a perfect location for walking the Fife Coastal Path or catching a bus.

The cottage was spotless, bed was very comfortable, lovely shower, very quiet area. A small dining table would have been welcome ( the folded one in the kitchen is wobbly) and there’s not much room in the kitchen for cooking but it’s a nice place for a short break.

Lovely comfortable cottage, good location and quality amenities and facilities in the cottage however not suitable for people with walking difficulties, elderly or people who are unsteady on your feet due to the steep narrow stairs.

Absolutely exquisite. Beautifully cosy. High end furnishings and soft linens. Like a mini boutique hotel. Everything you need has been thought of. The village is gorgeous, both cafes excellent for gluten free food we needed. A visit to Anstruther is a must and the ‘wee chippy’. Thanks for a lovely restful stay

The cottage was lovely, full of charm, cozy, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Very well located in terms of the local amenities and for exploring the East Neuk as a whole. I'd definitely recommend the log package for the wood burning stove in the colder months, as the fire adds to the cozy atmosphere. Had a wonderful dinner at the Dory Bistro, which is just a few minutes walk down the hill. The dogs loved the whole experience too! Would definitely recommend.

I’m REALLY fussy about where I stay. It has to be as nice as, or nicer than, home. And this place easily passed the test.

Lovely cosy, tastefully appointed cottage. Ideal location for exploring the local area. Wood burner was a bonus and especially welcome as weather outside was awful! Perfect spot to coorie in!

We loved this little gem of a house in such a beautiful part of the world. It is well equipped and beautifully furnished with attention to detail. We walked to Crail one day and to Elie the next. Both lovely walk. The Dory Bistro was a treat. Thank you!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kirkgate cottage. Beautifully renovated & well equipped - perfect for a couple. The log burner was easy to use and swiftly warmed up the whole of the upper floor.
Situated in the heart of the village it is only around the corner from two small cafes - perfect for breakfast out. There is also an artisan Baker. The harbour is just a short walk down the hill and we enjoyed watching the fishing boats. There is also an excellent restaurant which makes the most of fresh fish and locally grown vegetables. Not to forget the paintings by various artists displayed on the walls.
A great base to explore the nearby fishing ports

Lovely cottage, small & compact, perfect for two people. We also had our pet dog with us. Good location in the village, if you don't mind steep lanes down to the harbour. Parking spaces not always available outside the property.

Wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has mobility issues, like myself found stairs outside and inside difficult, would recommend it though.

Kirkgate Cottage (A dream come true)
The four days we spent in Pittenweem were made perfect by staying in this excellent cottage. It felt like we were there longer than the four days.
Can’t praise the cottage enough as it has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. This combined with the village of Pittenweem made for one of the best holidays we have had in Scotland.

Lovley little place
We had a great few nights here. The property was clean and homely and very well stocked. The only thing would have been if there was firewood waiting for you. I know the owners would like a financial contribution for the firewood through an advanced order and that was the reason it was not there but the same could have been achieved if it was provided with a pay box similar to how they handle wine. We found it very difficult to find places to buy the wood locally and it took a couple of trips out to various shops. But all in all, this is only a very minor thing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

October Break
Lovely little cottage, everything you would need. Only problem was the Television, upstairs reception was not great, only a select few channels, obviously in Summer time this would not be a problem

Communication from first contact was clear and prompt. Property was superb. Everything you could think of was provided. Basically just turn up and enjoy. An ideal property for a cosy romantic break. Village is quaint, very picturesque and locals really friendly. One pub with restaurant, several other restaurants, sweetie/ ice cream shop. The hub provides groceries, pharmacy, newsagents and a whole range of other services and bits and pieces. Village has a couple of gallery/ craft shops and an excellent wool shop. Harbour is beautiful with a coastal path in both directions with nearby villages in walking distance. Cannot recommend enough.
