About this cottage rental
Kilbaha cottage is uniquely perched on one end of Kilbaha Bay in Loop Head, with panoramic views over the Atlantic and the ships and fishing boats that pass it's door. Set in ten acres just off the Wild Atlantic Way, it has a rocky cove on the shore and endless scope for exploration, be it with bucket and spade or binoculars.
Loop Head is still a well kept secret and visitors find it unspoilt and deserving of it's many awards. A recent one being the European Destination of Excellence.
The house has recently had an extensive refit, which kept all that makes it special, but adding a wet room, wood burning stove and a new shower area near the sauna.
The three bedrooms are double with the master suite having it's own bathroom.
A separate loft room over the kitchen is a quiet space to read or watch a movie and usually a gathering place for the children.
While there is a wonderful sense of remoteness in Loop Head you are never far from a great meal or a small harbour to pick up your lobster and crab for dinner.
You can see the lobster pots being emptied outside the house by the local fishermen, and drive to the harbour to get the freshest catch imaginable.
Please note our changeover day is Saturday.

Unbelievable views, beautiful home, amazing host. This was our first time getting away as a family in a few years, and it was by far our best vacation ever! Everyone unplugged, relaxed and unwound.
The house does not disappoint. Ocean views from all the windows. There are not enough superlatives to describe it.
We will be back again!

We really enjoyed staying here in this fabulous place. The setting is beautiful - crashing waves below and a gorgeous view to the sea. The house is wonderful, large with many amenities. It was great to be met by the host's mother to show us around the house. The owners are very responsive to any inquiries. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the Ireland.

We were so impressed by this property. The house is much bigger than appears in the photos, and beautifully decorated. Despite being isolated on a high cliffside with the dramatic Atlantic swells bashing against the rocks just below, the house is very calm and cosy, with a toasty fire for rainy days. Kitchen is well appointed and beds very comfortable. And the sauna was an unexpected perk after battling the wind and rain on Loop Head. We loved our week here, opening the curtains in the morning to a constantly changing seascape, with Kerry and the mountains of Dingle (we think) sometimes visible across the Shannon. The nearest shops are in Kilkee, about 20 minutes drive, and Tesco is 35 minutes away in Kilrush. Not many hiking trails, but the cliff walk from Kilkee and Bridges of Ross is stunning on a clear day. There aren’t otherwise many things to do in this part of Clare - and the beaches around Loop Head are distressingly filthy, including St Senan’s well, a small spring that runs through the property - but if you’re happy just to curl up with a book and a view of the sea, this place is magically restorative.

Our first time to Ireland, and I was very happy with my choice to rent this lovely cottage by the sea. The views from the cottage are truly breathtaking and the cottage is so cozy. Loved sitting by the wood stove at night after a long day of sight seeing. County Clare is beautiful and peaceful. Ciara was a wonderful hostess. If you are looking to see the beautiful country side of Ireland, this is the place to go.

Of course you must be aware that the place is very remote. So no spontaneous walk to the next pub or restaurant. But if you like a relaxing vacation, this is just the right spot no matter what time of the year. We spent a very cosy Christmas time in the cottage.
After windy walks around the peninsula we enjoyed sitting in front of the fireplace with a cup of tea or a glas of wine. Would have enjoyed the sauna too (it was one of the reasons we booked this cottage) but unfortunately it was out of order. Nontheless we had an absolut wonderful time. The kitchen is very well equipped. Everything in the cottage is spotless clean. Would recommend the cottage anytime.

Just a beautiful cottage and location. We’ve stayed at Kilbaha Cottage on several occasions, but each time we are still amazed at the beauty of Kilcloher.
The cottage is lovely as well. Clean, well supplied and tastefully decorated.
Thanks for a brilliant holiday!

Our second visit here. A beautiful house that has everything. The most spectacular of views, peaceful seclusion, with a comfy and cozy interior.

This house is an extraordinary place to spend your holidays. The view to the sea and the cliffs is spectacular. We even enjoyed the stormy times by watching the waves through the windows and by using the sauna. The house is spacious (even for 6 persons there is enough space to enjoy and relax). It's very tasteful and beautiful furnished and well equipped. We enioyed every minute of our stay there and can highly recommend it.

This property has everything. Initial impression as you walk in the door is great living area, lovely fireplace. It is also warm and cozy. Views from all the windows in the house are breath taking. That is a major highlight of the house, views are beautiful. Also, the house has great shower facilities and a sauna. It is well stocked with all the household necessities. Would book this house again. It is also very close to Kilkee and Kilrush. It makes it easy to live life as a local.

Kilbaha cottage was perfect. We wanted a holiday home that provided a relaxing getaway and it gave us that and so much more. Comfy beds, beautiful showers, cute sauna. A fully stocked kitchen with every utensil you could need. We even found an allen key when the saddle on one of the e-bikes fell down 😊 The cottage was so warm and welcoming we hardly wanted to leave. I loved to sit and eat my breakfast with the door open and see the sea. I felt like I was on the deck of a ship. It’s a very special place, thank you so much for sharing and making our stay so easy and pleasurable.

Kilbaha Cottage is incredible. The views cannot be described and photos do not begin to capture the beauty. We were lucky enough to experience beautiful sunny days and also a few rainy and blustery days to see the majesty of the Irish Atlantic. The cottage itself is well appointed, clean and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back.

WOW!! This property is amazing! Our first attempt at visiting this place was for May of 2020. Well we all know how that went. For the last three years we just kept our eyes on it trying to find the right time. I was totally grabbed by the photos and description of the place, and as beautiful as they are, don’t do it justice! The location is purely magical. Perched on a spit of land at the edge of the sea. Very private with views in all directions. If you’re looking for that city life vibe, this place ain’t it, but if you want to get outside and experience the beauty of the rural side of the Emerald Isle you are HOME! Great hikes and sites are just virtually out the front door. The people we met were warm and inviting. The Kilbaha Gallery is a must visit if for nothing more than the conversation! Keatings, a seaside Pub just a 5 minute drive. Everyone raves about the Cliffs of Mohr. Yes, we went but don’t miss the cliff walk at Kilkee! Just 20 minutes away vs an hour and a half. Truly stunning!
Now the house itself. Perfect! You can tell this isn’t just a rental. It’s their home. The personal touches, comfortable beds and furniture make this lovely place a true gem. Great showers! (Kinda my thing 🙂) plus a sauna! The open concept, well stocked, kitchen was great!
Ciara was a great host! Check in was a breeze. On our last day my wife and I looked at each other with the same thought. We weren’t ready to leave. So we already booked our return for next year!

Is an amazing location. Beautiful property. Lovely home. Fell in love with the area after staying in the hustle and bustle of Dublin. Left Kilbaha Cottage with a heavy heart. Wanted to stay forever.

5 STARS TO THE HOST AND THE Cottage.
We celebrated my 60th Birthday at the Kilbaha Cottage on St. Patricks Day and stayed for a week & what a week of memories we will have forever. We toured the villages by day and slept soundly and comfortably at the Cottage. The cottage was like our Home away from Home. Ciara is a superb host, kind, considerate, compassionate and very generous with her time, prior to our arrival till to our departure.
Blessings to you and your family
From PK & DK from Az. We will definitely be back very soon. 🥰

This is the most wonderful property! The views are breathtaking. Once you figure out driving on the roads (I’m American) it’s a piece of cake. We enjoyed the pub, 2.25 miles down the road. Our favorite part of our trip to Ireland was this piece of heaven. Could not recommend this cottage enough. Definitely worth the stay.

This property is in a spectacular location but also inside it is really well equipped and full of lovely features. The sea and the wind batter the cottage one minute and then out comes the sun and all is forgiven. It is very snug and beds very comfortable and warm. The owner even put up Christmas decorations and a tree for us. How good is that ?

The location of this cottage is phenomenal. Out on Kilcloher Head with cliffs and ocean in front and beside, and green farms behind, the beauty is unbelievable. The cottage itself is up to date, beautifully decorated, clean, and cozy. The week here went by much too quickly. Now we have to wait for next year!

Absolutely loved our stay here!

We could not have enjoyed our stay more and the home was absolutely perfect, equipped with anything a family would need. The house is remote on a gorgeous cliff so you are truly surrounded by the sea, but it is also close to good restaurants and all the glorious sites and people of West Clare. Some highlights - waking to the sound of the sea in the world’s most comfortable beds, coffee and toasted brown bread in the morning overlooking the waves, long walks through the country and along the shore, day trips to the lighthouse and surrounding towns, movies in the evening in the lovely upstairs loft, swimming in the cove below followed by a steamy sauna, and making friends and finding treasures at the gorgeous Kilbaha Gallery. Thank you Ciara and Helen for making our stay perfect. We will return!

A Western Ireland Treat
The house was well-equipped for reading, DVD and cooking and we did a lot of each.
The gorgeous oceanside location which has to be experienced to be believed, everyone enjoyed the area with daily walks.
Don’t miss nearby Keatings pub, Kilbaha gallery, Loop Head lighthouse and cliffs, and the oceanside drive to Kilkee.
Don’t miss the great seafood and service at the Long Dock in Carrigaholt to top off a great holiday home and experience.

Best rural Ireland experience!
We chose the Kilbaha Bay Cottage for 2 reasons; it is very remote but also somewhat close to many of the areas we wanted to visit on the west coast. The property sits high on Kilcloher Head in Kilbaha Bay and we got to experience the real Wild Atlantic Way!
When we arrived, the seas were relatively calm and by the end of the week we experienced 30 MPH winds for 2 days and waves were crashing with sea spray covering the house!
The cottage it very comfortable and well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and the house is quite silent at night. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals of all sorts. The living room and loft were great for reading and conversing. There is no Wi-Fi, which we actually loved as it was great to be unplugged for a week!
The bathrooms are all very clean and well stocked. The showers seem pretty newly tiled and were quite nice. The sauna is a really great bonus in this home! We would start many of our days with a quick sauna and a cold shower and be invigorated and ready for our day!
Although it feels that you are in the middle of nowhere, it took us only about 25 minutes to get to Kilkee. It is very helpful to have a GPS since there are several ways to get to the house.
Ciara is a great host! She is most responsive and helpful with general questions about the house and surrounding area. Damien met us at the house when we got there and showed us all through it. He got us settled in nicely, answered all our questions and was quite nice.
We will be back for another week of true rest and relaxation! Thank you!

Took my two daughters and granddaughters on this trip to the country of my late husband's ancestors. We were even able to spend a couple of priceless days with extended family there. If there were to be one word for this location it would have to be "magical." The home is absolutely perfect with its mindful share of modern day comfort coupled with the quaintness that I desired when booking it. This is a very rural area and not for anyone who is seeking anything other than pure, peaceful and joyful solitude. I am in the hospitality business and surrounded by people more days than not. For me and my family this was a perfect location to escape all the madness of the last two years of life and the chance to reconnect with each other while searching for shells, rocks and whatever else we could find. We were fortunate with the weather and spent large amounts of time outdoors. We did go on a couple of tours that required some driving but, for the most part, we were content just being there. My only hope is that life will allow me to return to this magical place again and again to create even more memories in for myself and my family. Thank you for sharing this extraordinary home.

What a view!
A wonderful cottage, clean, maintained and beautifully decorated. But even more than that, the location is prime. Perched on the rocks above the sea, you could spend days simply enjoying the views. The hosts were great. Easy to communicate with. You really couldn’t ask for more for a holiday cottage.
