A satisfied married couple from Kansas

We love the location, the comfortable beds, the way the rooms are arranged, and the cleanliness. The Manager and staff at this motel are great. We enjoy being able to walk from our room to the Garden of the God's to hike.

No complaints at all.

Sweet stay for the price.

Very clean. Nice bed. Loved the hardwood floors. Plenty of parking. Nice fridge and TV. Alexander at front desk friendly and helpful.

Bathroom very small. No ice machine. No one answered (machine or human) when dialed 0 for wake-up call. Some road noise.

Nice motel

We had wonderful stay at this motel. Nice location, good value. 3 beds (2 queen 1 sofa bed) were great for 4 people. The room was clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. After we told him that the stove didn't work, he brought a portable stove right away.

No breakfast, which we were aware of.

Old facility with few amenities in a rather shady neighborhood, but the room was spacious and clean

TV is wonky, with few channels, and very hard to hear.

The size of the room was great for our family. We really liked having the kitchen and dining area. It makes it feel more like a home. Having two separate rooms made sleeping easier with the children. The location in the city was probably the best feature. You are close to so many of the tourist areas. Which were were a very typical family just having a vacation to enjoy the area.

The fan for the bathroom was loud, but luckily that was not on for very long. The couch was well used, and was not the most comfortatable. That really is just knit picking. Honestly, there really was not any major complaints.

Ok- wouldnt stay again.

No food. Very clean, friendly but in a sketchy neighborhood.

They charged me full amount 24 hrs before i arrived and then when i signed in they copied my card number on a separate sheet of paper. Room smelled.

Not choosing Mel Haven if we go to COS again.

Location and person who tried to take care of us.

Outside weeds everywhere...no ice; no soft drink machine. Inside...rug by table tripped us several times; did not furnish towels regularly; .

Comfortable stay and close to many attractions.

A very quiet and convenient location. The property is old and the building we stayed in looked like a heritage. The rooms were very thoughtfully furnished and equipped. The owners are very friendly and eager to take care of any needs we had. had a memorable stay.

Nice room but web page needs updating to accurately reflect amenities.

Worth a stay

Everything else. It was very clean. Service was awesome. Although we didn't pick it for the location, that was great too. Would stay here again.

I think others mentioned...it's not the most updated place. Also, the bathrooms were tiny.

This is a gem of a find. Worth every penny.

The person that checked us in was great... met us at the door and held the door open for and was so helpful. As others have said, don't expect the property to look like the Marriott. It is an a motel built in the 50's that has been restored. But don't get me wrong, it is very rustic and quaint. You can't beat the view! The Garden of the God's out your window or Manitou Peak out the other... depending which room you get. You park right outside your room which was great for us because we where there for a Hockey Tournament. The rooms are charming and comfortable and clean. Its like stepping back in time. There are plenty of local restaurants with great food and your standard chain fast-food. Everything you need is right there in town. You are right across the road from a hiking and biking trail that is really nice. This is a gem of a place. During hockey season we are there a lot from Feb to May. We won't be staying at the big chain Hotels anymore... this is our new place to stay.

Nothing to mention... had a leaking shower head... but easily fixed.

Great stay! Loved the overall retro feel of the motel on the outside, but the room was updated.

Very clean room and friendly staff!! Really enjoyed our stay at the Mel Haven Motel and will stay there again.

Could use more shelves/places to set stuff in bathroom, but very minor.
