This was our third stay with Bart and Carol at Linden Hill Farm. You can’t ask for more gracious hosts, nor a more beautiful, welcome setting! We are immediately relaxed in the surroundings, and all of the amenities are a plus. We weren’t far from family in Harper’s Ferry, so they were able to visit us as well to enjoy the back porch and the critters who make the farm their home. We love it!

We stayed here when we went to drop our daughter off to college. The place was great and the owners even gave us farm fresh eggs and other food. They were very friendly and the property was amazing. I enthusiastically give it 5 stars.

The grandkids would come during the day and they loved seeing the animals and feeding the donkey. They also enjoyed playing in the pool. Us grownups enjoyed the fresh eggs we had daily and the beautiful view we had while watching the kids in the pool. Nice garden to walk through and lots of land to go explore. Beds were comfy too.

First off, Bart and Carol counldn't be more accomodating and friendly. We arrived amd were greeted will well wishes for Our stay. When i needed a nice place to celebrate Our 19yr Wedding Anniversary, they gave me three choices but one stuck out; the Wine Kitchen on the Creek in Fredrick. The he was a beautiful welcome to tje staet of the Vacation, mornings on the front porch drinking coffee and relaxing before the start of the day. Also some nights on the back porch sipping my whiskey, I invited Bart over for a drink. We enjoyed the animals and the beauty, it was just the right spot to unwind from all the other stuff.
So Thank You Bart & Carol for letting my family be a part of yours for a short stay.

This is the second time we stayed at Linden Hill, using this beautiful farm as a base for visiting family in Harper’s Ferry and for exploring the countryside. We love it! Hosts Bart and Carol make you feel welcome by providing for any needs you might have, including breakfast goodies to start your day. The pastoral setting, all of the critters and the feeling of privacy, create your own little haven. Our relatives, who actually live nearby, said Linden Hill would even be a great weekend getaway!

Relaxing and Beautiful Getaway
My family stayed at Linden Hall Farms for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful and fun experience. The hosts have thought of everything you could possibly need and provided it. They were also very attentive to any other accomodations we needed. The farm is absolutely gorgeous and the house is charming and clean. We loved having farm fresh eggs, hearing the chickens in the morning and watching the farm animals roam. With so many things to do, it was our kids favorite vacation. They had a blast playing with the donkeys, swimming and playing on the tire swing. It is the perfect location to be close to Washington DC yet be away from the busy city. It is close to an abundance of vineyards, beautiful hiking spots, waterfalls and the historic Harpers Ferry. This farm is the perfect mix of being able to visit the nearby city and enjoy the quiet peace of the home and farm. I definitely recommend this wonderful getaway for your vacation.

A Farmhouse Getaway
An especially family focus Thanksgiving that brought back days of old when kids on the farm enjoyed life in its simplicity. This was the feeling and comment that ran across the family. A comfortable and warmly decorated retreat that encouraged one to slow down, smell the roses and pet the animals.

Beyond our expectations
This farm was paradise. So beautiful and peaceful. The guest house was decorated is a classic homey farm style that complimented the historic property. We used this farm as home base while visiting Washington DC, Baltimore and the Amish country but we could have spent the whole week there and been blessed. Best vacation money we have spent in a long time.

Wonderful stay! So relaxing. Panoramic views from the two private porches.
Wonderfully maintained home with every amenity I needed — including a strong shower, gas stove, air conditioning, large clothes washer and dryer, and a large dishwasher. Absolutely beautiful farm where they lovingly take care of the animals. My stay flew by as I spent many days on the two guesthouse porches I had to myself just looking at the beauty of it all. I felt very safe staying on my own, as the guesthouse is attached to the main house, but I had complete privacy. Property owners were available if I needed anything, but they were not intrusive. Still feeling relaxed after my stay. The eggs from the chickens were delicious, and I enjoyed feeding the donkeys.

Great place & lovely hosts
We very much enjoyed our stay at the farm. The rental is a "guest house" attached to the main farmhouse, but it is completely private. The owners brought some lovely breakfast makings including fresh milk, sausage, eggs from the farm, and fruit, and also brought some cereal and other food. We took full advantage of the forever pool and enjoyed visiting the farm animals and and feeding apples to the donkeys. It's also close by to Harpers Ferry, Leesburg, and local wineries. A+++

Wonderful
This was a awesome vacation with our family. Bart and Carol were wonderful hosts. They supplied us with fresh eggs sausage fruit yogurt and milk for our breakfast. The kitchen was fully stocked with staple items. The house was awesome. You were out in nature but close to many things to see and do. There are many wineries close by . We visited one. Harper's Ferry is very close and we went in there several times and visited some historic places and battlefields. Our grandson enjoyed the animals on the farm and the pool. Bart and Carol graciously supplied us with everything we needed. I highly recommend this home.

Beautiful escape to the country
We had such a tremendous stay at Linden Hall. The guest house is beautiful and has everything you need. The kids loved playing on the tire swing, collecting eggs, playing in the pool and watching the birds from the back porch. Bart & Carol are perfect hosts. Lovettsville is a good base for Harper’s Ferry and there are lots of outstanding breweries and restaurants nearby. I wish we could have stayed for longer.

A welcome retreat
This is a farm setting in a rural part of our county. My family and I got to live there over the winter for 4 months while our new home was being built. I can’t call it anything other than idyllic. It was a safe and peaceful space and we enjoyed making lasting family memories while there. Bart and Carol (owners) were consummate hosts and there is literally nothing I can think of to express concern over. The home was clean, well maintained and comfortable. We enjoyed every last moment we spent there. Thank you!

Peaceful Farm Retreat
We had a pleasant experience at Linden Hill Farm. The owner greeted us upon arrival and made sure we were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and even had fresh eggs from the farm and other starter breakfast items. The only issue we had was that we encountered quite a few of stinkbugs in the house, but we just used a hand vacuum to get rid of them. We were allowed to feed the chickens and donkeys, the kids loved that. The owners were very helpful and we felt very welcomed! We stayed in December so unfortunately the pool wasn't available, maybe we'll come back one summer. Close proximity to Harper's Ferry and c&o trail.

Heaven!
We had a wonderful week at Linden Hall Farm. As soon as we turned into the driveway, everywhere we looked was just beautiful, serene and welcoming. There were donkeys in the field, sheep, roosters and their companions, cats and dogs to greet us. The owner showed us around the cottage, which is attached to the main house, but very private. He told us a bit of the history of the farm, and provided a notebook which went into more detail. Each room is comfortable and homey, and we loved having meals on the back porch overlooking the pool and gardens. The owners, Bart and Carol, have thought of everything, and even left a delicious surprise in the fridge!

Great sanctuary!
My family and I (two of us with 6 month old and 4 year old) had a great time at Linden Hall Farms. We were trying to find a place to get away from stay-at-home orders and enjoy some time away from chores, etc. The added bonus was a place that had a private pool! Linden Hall Farms had all of this, peaceful nights with beautiful sunset, private pool, lots to do and explore. My son loved to feed the donkeys and chickens. He gave them all names. Bart and Carol were very accommodating and conscientious during this time of COVID. We appreciate everything.

Perfect Summer Retreat
We were fortunate enough to have a long term stay at this beautiful property. My husband was able to work remotely from the house with wifi strong enough to support his constant video meetings throughout the day. The kids and I easily filled our days either on the farm (feeding the animals, picking wild flowers, fishing, exploring) or in the surrounding area. Trails along the Potomac are five minutes away, Harper's Ferry is only 15 minutes. The area is gorgeous with mountains, river banks, and lots of history to explore. (There are several hiking trails within a short drive of the property, ranging from easy for the little ones to moderately difficult.) We would all convine at the end of the day for a swim in the pool.
Carol and Bart are wonderful hosts. They made us feel welcome and encouraged us to treat their beautiful property as our own. The house is situated in the middle of the farm with acres of fields in every direction. We enjoyed cups of coffee on the back porch every morning and views of the sunset as we put the kids to bed at night. There are several farm stands where you can buy fresh produce to supplement the delicious and farm fresh dairy, meat, and eggs provided by our hosts. The kids loved the tire swing, feeding the donkeys, spying local wildlife (a family of turkeys, a humming bird, a red fox, and lots of catepillars). No one wanted to leave when it came time. We all still wish we were back at Linden Hall Farm.

Beautiful, clean, safe place to visit right now!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. Bart and Carol are gracious hosts. It felt like they were tailoring the visit just for us. My daughters loved the pool, the lawn games, catching fireflies, gathering eggs and especially the dogs. We loved relaxing on the porch and the beautiful view. The home was perfect for us with 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 down. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the foot that we had brought with us and we were able to eat out safely at some local restaurants and we also had some takeout. We were able to easily get all 7 breakfasts out of the yogurt, fruit, sausage, muffins and eggs provided. They even invited us to take some extra farm fresh eggs home with us! The location worked great for us. We were able to do zip lining, biking riding on the tow path, blueberry picking, hiking all within 15-20 minutes. The house is immaculately clean, and they were taking even more coronavirus precautions than we expected. We have been diligent to follow rules and staying here did not feel unsafe at all. It was wonderful. We are already thinking about when we can return!

Beautiful farm, great hosts!
The owners are wonderful hosts! The farm and it’s surrounding are lovely. It’s a very comfortable three bedroom with everything you need. The kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs. Our kids enjoyed feeding the donkeys everyday and playing in the private pool. Farm fresh eggs everyday for breakfast was a perk. We would definitely visit again.

Idyllic get away
Bart and Carol are the luckiest people to be able to call Linden Hall Farm their home and we were treated with a level of kindness and generosity that is rarely encountered in this world anymore. Carol gave my son carrots and taught him how to feed the donkeys and she took the time to go into the chicken coop with him to gather eggs. He was even allowed to sit on the tractor! We were very generously given fresh eggs and sausage and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were some of the most cozy I have ever slept in. The property itself is gorgeous and is perfectly situated to experience all that the area has to offer. I wholeheartedly recommend. Everyone should be able to experience such a place where people are kind, the land is beautiful, and life is uncomplicated. Thank you Bart and Carol for your military service and for welcoming us into your home!

Quiet Peaceful Farm! with everything you need!
We had a great stay at Linden Hall Farm. It is a beautiful place that is very relaxing. Bart and Carol have the cleanest and best stocked house anywhere on VRBO, from farm fresh eggs to local sausage and several other food items and bottled water. If you forget something it is there, from kids car seat to all laundry item. The farm is really cool for adults and kids alike from the miniature donkeys to the sheep and chickens. Our little one loved the tire swing in the front yard and our son caught a few bass in the pond. We found several places to take great outdoor family photos. I can't say enough good things about this place, and after talking to Bart and finding out he is a Veteran I recommend it even more.
Thanks again Bart and Carol we will be back!
