Apartment completely renovated in 2011 in the heart of old Lisbon, near the historical center of Lisbon. Set in a typical neighborhood in a quiet and peaceful street, is the historic center of Lisbon to less than 5 minutes walk, can visit the Rossio, Restauradores, Avenida da Liberdade, Marques de Pombal, Chiado, Bairro Alto, Camões, Castle St. Jorge. In the area there are several monuments, churches, sights to see, Clubs, Bars, and still experience the famous Ginginha Rossio. The apartment is about 200 meters from the historic center of Lisbon, Rossio, Restauradores. At the center will have available all necessary transport to enjoy your stay: Metro, Bus, Train, Taxi. It's really close. The apartment is equipped to make our guests feel at home. In the apartment there are many maps available to help our guests to visit: Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, and surrounding areas. The apartment is about 10 minutes by taxi from the airport. The apartment is on the center of the city, but nearby (200 mts of the apartment) can be park the car. There are beautiful beaches around Lisbon like Estoril or Cascais (around 15 kms – 30 minutes by train) We have Wi-Fi connection. We have a comfortable extra bed.

This is a wonderful apartment, fitting for the neighborhood, and so near most things you want to do in this magnificent city! About a five minute walk to the metro, which is convenient, extensive, cheap, and safe, but have to admit it’s about 12 minutes back (uphill). Very clean and has a fantastic kitchen with not only a gas stove but a dishwasher and laundry washer as well. Interesting barrio street with several good restaurants and small independent markets. Neighborhood is multicultural but seems very safe and everyone was super friendly.
Is this place perfect? No, but for an inexpensive lodging in a genuine neighborhood with the locals it is truly wonderful.
Now, let’s talk about the proprietor. From the very start, Carla was kind, responsive, and helpful in every way. She was the best part of our booking overall. So, book this jewel as your home base and go out and enjoy Lisboa!

Place is clean. The bed is a bit too soft. The street is steep and is not suited to people with walking issue.

Perfect for us in every way. Location, very clean, cozy, everything we needed for our 3 night stay.
Communication was top notch, from check in to any questions we had. Easy walk to town, shops and restaurants, as well as sights, public transportation and E28 tram. We would definitely recommend.

Situated close to the city centre of Lisbon and the old city area of Alfama, walked to all locations without need for transport, A lovely welcome basket on arrival the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Communication was fantastic and any questions were answered in a timely manner. Highly recommend this apartment for anyone wishing to explore Lisbon by foot but do expect to walk up and down the many hills. We had 3 days and saw a lot but will return again as so much more to explore. Thank you Carla

very dated property, no air conditioner, hot as hell, uncomfortable bed, steep stairs to apartment, apartment had musty smell, sketchy neighborhood, lousy access

The apartment is comfortable and fully equipped for staying and cooking in but restaurant’s abound nearby.
Old Lisbon - can walk to important sights.The old stone road is steep but there is view of the river from the little step out balcony.

Carla was great with communication and the house is exactly as described. Beds were comfy and her basket of treats was very sweet.
The apartment is a decent ascent uphill from the Rossio Metro station.
Our only issue was not with Carla.
Lisbon is a huge city. We were approached numerous times about purchasing hash and coke, saw a robbery & watched a coke deal go down. Some areas near the apartment were unsafe after dark.

The property is very down to earth and humble. One feels comfortable a typical Portuguese home with lots of good vibes. Clean, close to amenities and quiet. Thanks Carla for the goodies that you left on the table, it was a nice touch, you really care for your guest.

My wife and I spent 4 nights in this flat. We had a wonderful time, Carla was great to work with. She even left us some special treats as we were celebrating an anniversary. The location was near train, Metro and bus stations as well as many great sites!We had a wonderful time and we highly recommend!

As this was our third stay in Carla's apartment we can confidently recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the heart of Lisbon. The apartment is very clean, well maintained and fully equipped for a short or longer stay. The location is within easy walking distance of restaurants, metro lines, buses and rail station. The neighbourhood is lively and friendly with a number of small local restaurants and shops.
Carla is always helpful and treats guests with a generous welcome back including wine and fresh bread etc.

Our apartment was close to Rossio Square and train station. Hosts were amazing. Responsive. Friendly. It was fun and interesting to stay in a neighborhood and use local markets and eateries. It can be a little loud and it is an uphill walk from tourist areas.

The apartment is charming - "old Portuguese" with modern amenities. Clear, prompt communication with super helpful hosts. Extra touches - lovely bottle of wine, delicious bread, pates/cheese jams left for us. Great info booklet in apartment pointing us to excellent mini-mart 2 mins away. The apartment is excellently located between Rossio and Martim Moniz (short walks). We ate locally every night - I mean a few minutes from the apartment. We used 2 traditional Portuguese cafe/restaurants (under £30 for 2 meals and litre of wine!) and then the superb Solar 31 where we ate twice (exceptional quality - about £60 but so worth it).
If we return to Lisbon will definitely book this apartment again.

Perfectly situated in the older Baixa neighborhood downtown and close to attractions and public transport you can see the waterfront when you step outside the door or balcony and just look down the street.
Good and very good restaurants right on the street and at the end of the street don't miss Mae's Kitchen!
Carla & Paolo accommodated us multiple times and were very responsive.
We left Lisbon with fond memories.
Note: this apt is not for those that have problems walking up and down steep hills. Otherwise, it's great exercise!

We loved our stay! This was our first time in Lisbon and my friend and I really enjoyed the location - quiet neighborhood, but close to all the historical sites, restaurants and nightlife. The apartment was cozy, and had all the amenities. I reached out to Carla twice with simple questions - once before our stay and once during our stay and she was quick to respond.
A nice surprise to find fresh bread, wine and goodies on the table when we arrived. Thank you!

Simple, sweet, and perfect! Very clean and well equipped apartment. The location could not be any better! You are right in the center of the historical district. The area always felt extremely safe. The host left us a welcome basket of fresh bread, two bottles of wine, and an assortment of jams and spreads. It was absolutely lovely! The host was alway very friendly, and easily accessible. We never had a single problem during our 10 day stay. My two children and I were sad to leave Lisbon. I recommend this listing. I give it 5 stars! It was a wonderful trip for us.

I really enjoyed staying at this apartment. Everything was clean, nicely decorated and equipped with all things you need to live comfortably. Its also just a 15-25min walk to most things in downtown Lisbon area and port. Would recommend!

Not big by USA standard but certainly adequate. After the first day I got use to the size. Loved the location and character of the neighborhood with the mixed ethnicities. Would have loved a capsule coffee maker as most apartments have but a good cup of joe was close by. Over all I would stay there again.

My husband and I came to stay here for our honeymoon and it was so perfect! The location is unbeatable for exploring Lisbon. The neighbourhood doesn’t feel too touristy and is mostly occupied by locals. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, holes in the wall that are visited by locals.
The apartment itself is perfect! It has everything you need and we were greeted with delicious bread, spreads and wine!
We also rented a scooter and Carla let us know where to park near the apartment!
We cannot wait to come back!

The overall experience was difficult due to not knowing how to use European appliances such as washing machine- no instructions- or the stove, we were not able to turn it on. Maybe another European could
One of the owners came the 2 nd nite to turn on the TV for us. And asked why we had to use the washing machine on our first nite?
Directions and instructions were so limited it frustrated us, that we did never called about the stove, it was not worth the effort.
We had read all the reviews for this property and were excited about the stay and the owners. Our experience did not match up at all with the reviews, but this could cultural.

Carla, thank you for the stay. The home was beautiful, it had everything we needed and more. Anything you may need on holiday was stocked: the pantry, the toiletries, blankets/fans. The location was around the block from the main squares. A lively neighborhood with delicious coffee and restaurants.. I would recommend to anyone and would absolutely stay again if I found myself in Lisbon.

Great location
The apartment was located in a great location. Carla was lovely and easy to connect with. There was a wonderful welcome basket with delicious bread, jams, spreads and wine when we arrived to start our holiday right. Only this missing was air-conditioning, as after a very hilly walk up to the apartment in 34 degrees a shower was needed to cool down. Carla did supply fans which helped some. All in all, it was a great space and very convenient to get right into the heart of Lisbon. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great apartment in a fabulous location
The apartment was larger than I expected. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cutlery, pots, etc. It was great to have the balcony door open to cool things down. The location was fantastic- a short 5 minute walk to Rossio square and Restauradores square. There were so many fantastic restaurants, coffee shops and stores a few minutes away. Check out the restaurants on the street- there are some good ones! Carla was easy to deal with and very accommodating and she left us a lovely welcome gift. I would absolutely stay here again!

Local apartment in prime location!
Live like a local at this cute and tidy apartment and enjoy Carla’s gracious welcome basket. Amazingly located, you are just steps away from the local coffee shop and corner deli. Hoof it down to the Rossio, Plaza de Restaudores or the Figeuroa Plaza where you will find convenient transport options (funicular, trolley, subway and bus) to each and every of Lisbon’s sights. We mostly got around on foot but were very glad to find easy ways back after a long day. And after that long day of exploring Lisbon’s hills, there are several delicious and nearby restaurants including a standout seafood one - Solar 31- and even a Seneglaese one.
We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this apartment. The washer was handy and check-in and out a breeze.
