Short but memorable stay. The owners and staffs are very attentitive, helpful and lovely.

Very hospitable and caring hosts and staff, in contrast to state of the property.

Breakfast is excellent, variety of choice with home made muffins, quiche, jams... Maria, the owner makes sure that one eats and that it is truly to their liking. Cleaning ladies and support staff are nice and helpful. Lodge is within a walking distance (3 min) from Brooklyn mall.

The interior, rooms furniture, does need upgrading as well as the whole building. Room doors does not fit very well, which effects feeling of privacy.

Location relative to where I was going

No hot water, aircon not working. Asked if o counts be picked from airport and yes was the answer only to realize I was booked a meter taxi and was given a bill of R650 for that taxi. Hotel should have been transparent on shuttle costs. Really disappointed

Charming and memorable!

I loved staying at the Brooklyn Lodge! It's got a real charm and character. The room I stayed in was light, spotlessly clean and huge with a lovely balcony overlooking the quiet street and treetops. The owners run the hotel and are very kind, as are all the staff in the kitchen, security and cleaning. I felt at home. There is a restaurant/cafe attached to the hotel, which is yummy and a sweet place to eat or work in. The hotel is also a short walk to Brooklyn Mall which has lots of shops, restaurants and grocery stores. I would definitely recommend and have already planned to stay again! :)

There were some issues with the power in the neighbourhood, but this was not the fault of the hotel and affected the whole block - there was still wifi and power in the restaurant and the staff did all they could to mitigate the inconvenience.

I just loved it!

It was so nice and the staff was really warm and welcoming. Breakfasts were always delicious and freshly prepared as well. It's a place I would recommend to anyone looking for good customer service there. ☺️

General power cuts happened quite often while I was there.

Im not happy at all, dissappointed

The food was too oily, serve the same food at breakfast. The location is quite no much noise.

The staff, if you have a problem they all interfere, disrespectful & annoying. I complained about my food, everyone had a say. To make it worse i was approached by the Chef herself. I opted to stand up & leave even without apology or rectified meal, at least from the Manager. Blackouts for hours. One sheet was stained not properly washed, i put it aside but later found it in the same order in the room.

My room had noise and outside light coming from the back area, that could not be closed, which kept me awake.
