I loved the Christmas decorations, the tranquility of the creek, the quiet and most of all we loved not having any wifi or cell phones.

We love this place! We return year after year and we love it more each time! The serenity, the quiet, and the local hospitality is unmatched. No cell service and wifi are a blessing if you are looking to get away from the world.
Should have some lounge chairs down by the 'beach' area to sit a relax for some time.

Everything! from the warm welcome of a sign and their thoughtfulness for my boyfriends birthday with a birthday banner to hearing the creek rushing so close
Cleanliness, comfort, remote location , the being able to unplug from the world! the little signs on things to let you know things about them like a small light under the sink that said just tap!

The setting of this cabin is so beautiful, peaceful, secluded, cozy…everything we hoped for and MORE! The view and the sound of the river was almost unreal…like something you see in TV but it’s REAL!!!
The cabin did not feel tiny at all. Everything had its place and we were very comfortable but you’re going to want to spend most of your time in the huge deck which is covered and keeps you completely dry from rain. We didn’t even mind the rain we had it was actually very peaceful!
The gravel road follows the river and was so nice to walk along in the morning while it was nice and cool.
A short little walk to the edge of the property goes to a “beach” area where we took a cooler for the evening and hubby tried some fishing while I sat with my feet in the water and explored the rocky area. It’s such a nice private spot.
If you are looking for a quiet place to escape, work, kids, humans in general…this is it! 🙂
Honestly- everything was great! There wasn’t a single thing I would change. They thought of everything and provided great instructions and details for anything you might need! If you’re a person who cannot deal with NOT having WIFI then this isn’t for you, but for us-it was a perfect escape.

When Stephen and I arrived at The Junction, we were amazed at the remote beauty. Stephen sat down on the porch overlooking Squally Creek and stayed there for 4-5 hours without moving. A truly unique location and a fantastic, magical, remote setting.

Everything, this place is exceptional!!! This is the best rental my girlfriend and I have ever found. Was exactly what we’ve been looking for.
Could have used a little more hot water, but she got her warm shower and that is all that matters to me.

It was adorable and so welcoming. Had everything you could possibly need and yet was so tidy and gave you extra space to place all your things. The creeks were beautiful and lovely to listen to.

Peaceful and serene. The sounds of the water were soothing. Definitely will go back.
Getting there can be a chore...but oh so worth it when you get there. Follow the directions from Alice .

The Junction is a beautiful private cabin, that was perfect for our romantic getaway. We were celebrating our anniversary with a week long backpacking trip @ GSMNP and wanted a secluded place to spend a night before hitting the trail. The Junction did not disappoint. The scenic drive in along the Nantahala byway was so beautiful, we stopped at nearly every scenic overlook for spectacular views of the Appalachian mountains. Alice gave us very detailed directions, and we were easily able to navigate to get there, even though it's location is very secluded. When we finally reached the cabin it was exactly as advertised. A very cute cabin overlooking a tranquil stream in a nearly hidden location. The cabin was very clean, and had everything we could have needed for our stay, there was even a personalised welcome sign for us. It is obvious that Doug and Alice have put a lot of thought and energy into this location, and really go out of their way to ensure their guests have a great visit. We also enjoyed reading the guestbook and the many glowing comments penned on the covered porch. My only regret is that we got in pretty late, due to our many stops along the byway, and didnt get as much time to spend at the Junction as I would have liked. We will definetly be back!
