The space
This is a beautiful Victorian house built in 1908, with delightful vintage details throughout, and recently luxurious upgrades from top to bottom. It is decorated with French Country theme. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and welcoming. House is equipped with high speed internet (free wifi), flat screen TV, and wash/dryer.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire house and the garden.
Interaction with guests
I am a very easy going person. Every guest will be respected and be cared for during their stay. Absolutely no problem if you break a dish, a glass, or accidentally scratch a table or spill something on the carpet. Things are meant to be used and guests should live freely during their visit.
I live in Santa Clara, 45mins south of Alameda. Not onsite most days, but always available by phone or text, and will give guests immediate attention. My kind neighbors Dean and Stacy offered to help in emergency situations. My grown up son, Sean (25), lives half miles away from the property is able to help as well.
Other things to note
Party is not allowed and quiet time is 9:30pm.

This was a great space for our family to spread out, in a quiet, walkable neighborhood on Alameda. Diana was wonderfully responsive and a great host!

We were a group of seven: 4 adults and 3 children (all under 8). The house was lovely, with plenty of room for our group. It was very well supplied with everything we needed for cooking and housekeeping. The location is great for small children with two playgrounds and the beach within walking distance. For the adults, there is a friendly coffee shop just a few blocks away. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We would look forward to staying here again.

Host was very quick to respond to messages. Very nice walkable neighborhood. We had a minivan so had to park on the street but there was always space available on the same block. Beds were very comfortable. House was clean. Having a back porch was a plus for the young adults in the group to escape from the old fogeys. Having a couple of desks in the place was very useful. Pictures might not be 100% up to date - I believe room four now has two twin beds rather than a twin plus a full futon (Better imo). There is also a spare twin in one of the closets. We made the right choice with this place.

The house is adorable. The pictures don’t do it justice. Plenty of room, comfortable beds, lots of space for multigenerational family. We love Alameda. The house was very well cleaned. Lots of towels and blankets. Heat worked well to keep us comfortable during the cool nights. Loved walking around the neighborhood. The homes are gorgeous in the area. We were able to make our Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen (although some items were purchased pre-cooked). We played cards around the table in the evenings. Everyone was comfortable. (Please check the legs on the kitchen table chairs, a couple may not last much longer). Note: the wifi works better towards the back of the house so the tv in the front room wasn’t able to connect. The kitchen could use a regular toaster.

This house is exactly as listed in the ad. It is beautiful and in a great location. We were able to walk to the water and to some local parks. Everything was clean and Diane was easy to communicate with. She even brought in a pack n play and high chair for my daughter. I will definitely be staying again.

This house was great for our group of 9. The house is decorated with many cute accents that makes it feel very homey. The kitchen is a nice size and could accommodate our group. The neighborhood is quiet. Parking on the street was easy. The front porch and backyard have nice outside seating after a busy day in the city.

Wonderful place
Easy to check in, super good location: safe, quiet and on street parking. Kitchen well equipped, very comfy beds, spacious and lovely back yard. Host replies quickly to all questions. Alameda is a beautiful place to stay, great alternative to San Fran if you want a quieter and safer spot.

This is probably the best vacation rental I've used. My grandkids loved it! The beds are very comfortable, the bath towels are good quality and the attention to details were great. The neighborhood is adorable and the neighbors were friendly. The ferry terminal into San Francisco is close by and it was so convenient! I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

This house looks better in person. The beds were comfortable and it seemed well cleaned. Although the outside seating was nice, the guest felt uncomfortable using it, because there was a bit of a privacy issue. Since our group consisted of all women, getting ready for a formal event we noticed that the home did not have a full length mirror. Which isn't a bad thing, but it would be a nice touch to add for future guest.

It's a beautifully staged home with luxurious beds and linens. Our family, ages 3-77 was finally together again for the first time in two years. There was space for the 4 younger ones to run and chase and comfortable seats for the 7 older ones to sit and chat.
Parking space and laundry access were definite perks. Diana was quick to respond to questions . Be sure to check ALL closets for extra, comfy blankets.

We loved this house a great deal. We're local but wanted a night away, and this place was fantastic. It's on a dead-end road in a very quiet part of Alameda. There are three rooms with comfortable beds, with one room opening up to an enclosed porch with a single bed. the two front rooms share a jack & jill bathroom. There were plenty of places to just lounge and chat. There were two of the Edwardian-type bay windows with a couple chairs and a small table, which was perfect for sitting around & reading, plus some chairs on the porch, which was fun to hang out on. The back yard also has a lovely place to sit in the garden. The kitchen had great appliances, plenty of tableware/plates/cups/etc., and things like a coffee maker, along with emergency supplies like salt & spices in case you forgot any. The kitchen also had a table that seats 6, along with a tall table in the breakfast nook that seated 4. If you came with enough people to fill all the beds (there were only 5 of us), you'd still have plenty of places to be where you're not all crammed into one spot.
We loved it and will very likely come back.

My family and I (ages 9-69) stayed at this beautiful home for two nights, and we couldn't have been more comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. The furnishings were beautiful as well. We felt safe in the neighborhood and there were many eating places within 2 miles of the house. Parking would not have been a problem except that someone had parked in front of the driveway for the entire time we were there. However, we did find street parking a few houses down, so it worked out. I highly recommend this home for everyone .

wonderful extended family getaway
Diana's house is perfect for extended families! The rooms are all separated by at least two doors, so nap time was a lot easier. It's a comfortable house with all the amenities that we needed, well-stocked kitchen. Diana and Eric are also very laid back, responsive hosts. Thanks for the excellent stay! (Donut Petit is a short walk and a must try, check out the crullers in particular!)

Both the front and back houses on this property are great, the extra mattresses available in the basement are real mattresses, not flimsy futons, very comfortable place!

Beautiful, Peaceful, and Perfect
My family of 15 rented the front house and this cottage located at the back of this house. 11 people stayed in the front house and 4 people stayed in this cottage. Both the cottage and the house were more beautiful in person. The pictures here did not do them justice. Both have a charm and personality that have been preserved beautifully over the years. They were clean and spacious with beautiful decor. They were spacious and a perfect fit for our family. We drove daily into San Francisco, Stanford, Palo Alto, Oakland etc. The drive was not bad at all (about 30-60 minutes, depending on traffic). Some family members flew into Oakland airport, which is 6 miles or 17 minutes from the house. Parking all our cars on the street was a very simple process. We did not have AC but it was not needed at all, even though we were there in the summer. Every room has a fan, but we did not need that either. That's how close we were to the water. The owner Diana was a very attentive landlord, yet very professional. We did not meet her in person, but she was always available via phone. We would totally stay here again and highly recommend both houses to anyone who wants to stay in a quiet and relaxing neighborhood. We absolutely loved it <3
