Beautiful place, surrounded by trees. Would have stayed longer.

I stayed at this adorable house for 5 weeks while I worked nearby. I always felt happy (and lucky!) to come "home" after work and sit among the trees out on the back deck.
The host (Natalie) was wonderfully attentive and super helpful if I needed anything fixed or taken care of. Couldn't have asked for a nicer host.
I highly recommend this place for a lovely, middle-of-the-woods respite. Here are my pros/cons broken down (with pros far outweighing any cons)
Pros: Great location; incredibly comfortable beds/linens; very relaxing, quiet, pretty location; everything you would need for a pleasant stay was provided; very kind and communicative host.
Cons: As I was there for 5 weeks over the summer it was HOT. If you are someone who can't manage the heat, it might be hard for you to use the upstairs bedroom (which was normally lovely.) Even with provided box fans, it was so hot at night, there were several times I needed to move downstairs so I could sleep.
Also, the house is oddly lit. I would come home from work and need to do work on my laptop and the only real place to do that was at the kitchen table. There was NO overhead light. The chandelier was all candles and there were no light sources of any kind. When I had a guest over to eat, we had to bring battery powered lanterns to the table in order to see our food. I found this odd. Not a dealbreaker at all, but it was strange to be in this adorable, modern home which was so minimally lit in the kitchen/DR

My friends and I enjoyed our girls' getaway in Becket. The home is lovely, spacious, full of light and beautiful views of the trees. There was snow and we had fun snowshoeing the trails behind the house. We especially loved the fireplace and cozied up to it almost every night. It was a chilly week, but each bedroom and bathroom have their own thermostat so everyone could stay warm. The kitchen is well stocked.

The house & particularly the property were outstanding and a huge plus was a play set for our toddler grandson. The deck was fantastic overlooking the pond and surrounding forest. The house was spacious and a particularly special feature was the double jacuzzi in the master bathroom. We did feel the living room furniture was a bit shabby and could use replacing. Also there was no lighting in the indoor dining area.
The location was beautiful but shopping and all activities were more than ten miles away.
Although The owner did communicate promptly at the beginning and responded to two of four questions I asked by email she failed to answer several subsequent calls and messages.
We overall had a good time and would consider coming back.

Very secluded, peaceful & quiet. You don’t hear anything but the sounds of the forest… the wind rustling through the trees is mesmerizing.
Spent most of my stay on the deck looking out to the pond… coffee at 5:30 in the morning is perfect! Must stay here again 🙌😍

We rented this home as a winter getaway last month, with the promise of a fireplace, pellet stove, hot tub and beautiful views. Although the wooded view from the downstairs windows are lovely, it was bitter cold outside and we arrived to find the house thermostats set to 50 degrees. With very little wood for the fireplace, we stacked some snow covered wood from the outdoor stack, turned up the electric heat and needed to contact the owner to locate information regarding the house. The welcome letter was tucked in a drawer, out of sight, but assured us of enough pellets and wood to heat the house. Unfortunately there were only enough pellets to last about an hour, so we used that hour to try to dry the wood for the fireplace. There was no usable kindling or newspaper to start the fire. We reached out several times to notify the owner of the heating issue, and although she responded, there was no action promised or taken to bring pellets, kindling or dry wood, or to address the heating issue. Each room has a separate thermostat. After several hours, we were able to heat only the upstairs room to an acceptable temperature, but the entire downstairs of the house never stayed above 55 degrees once the pellet stove ran out of fuel. When morning came, we informed the owner that we would be leaving, since the main floor of the house was not reasonably habitable. She fairly agreed to give us a partial refund for the nights not used, however, this has not yet been provided.
It has now been a month since our abbreviated stay with no resolution and no further communication about when we might expect our partial refund. We have since contacted her through VRBO, text and voice mail, with no response and still no resolution. We are laid back, seasoned travelers who recognize that there are quirks to every home, but the lack of responsiveness is unacceptable. This rental wound up being a waste of our money, our time and our vacation. At this time, we unfortunately would not recommend this home.

My wife and I with our two best friends truly enjoyed our 6 night stay at this charming quiet home in a gorgeous natural setting in the Becket woodlands. The house was extremely clean, well equipped, and comfortable at every level. The small pond in back was very cool and enchanting and access to a larger lake (Center Pond) a few miles away for swimming and fishing was also included in the rental. The location is great with reasonable driving access to nearby Lee, Stockbridge, Lenox and Pittsfield. The hostess was extremely accomodating.
Absolutely looking forward to coming back again to this piece of heaven on earth!

We spent a week in Becket and loved the location, the property, and the amenities. The owner was super friendly and accommodating and I was able to work remotely for 1 week without incident. Also it was perfectly laid out for my 9 month old and 2 year old to enjoy. There was even a playground for our little one who was in heaven. Cannot recommend our stay enough and got to have a home base to explore Stockbridge, Great Barrington, Pittsfield, and Lenox.

We had a really wonderful time in the Becket house. Our family of 5 , 2 adults. & 3 kids (9, 7, 5) stayed there for a week.
The house exceeded our expectations in comfort and location. The kids loved the small pond, the playground and their rooms.
We hope to return again.

We really enjoyed our time in Becket. The house was great. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking meals. It was exactly as pictured, clean, serene, cozy, beautiful views, and so quiet. All Natalie’s suggestions/instructions were really helpful. The land surrounding the house and the pond were picture-perfect and we snow-shoed in the woods behind the house and on a nearby trail. We also went cross-country skiing right down the road and had a private tour of Herman Melville’s home Arrowhead, which is nearby. And being able to come in from the cold to a glass of wine by the fire was perfect. Highly recommended!

This charming house was exactly what we were hoping for. Tucked back off the road it felt magically isolated in the snow while still providing quick access to local cross country and downhill ski areas. It was thoroughly clean, cozy, and comfortable, and it was clear that the host had thought through the little details that really enhanced our stay. She was also very helpful and easy to reach via text throughout the week. Would absolutely stay here again!

This is a cozy, contemporary house on a small pond near Becket. It was easy to find and just a short way off Route 20, yet felt tucked back in the woods. We were within 15 minutes of a supermarket and Lee but also close to fun hiking and sites like The Mount. We were about 45 minutes from MassMoCa, which was open and well regulated. Beds were comfortable and nicely appointed. Three bathrooms were luxury! We would absolutely rent this again either for hiking or perhaps cross-country skiing.

Our family of 4 adults spent a week in August in Becket. With stone fences, Jacob's Ladder, The Western Railway, and the history of the Snows and their roles in the settling of the Western Reserve and the founding of the Church of Latter Day Saints, Becket takes one back to a quiet time. The home was perfect for a family, comfortable, clean, and with a large deck overlooking a pond that is perfect for swimming on a warm day. Natalie was tremendous in helping us get settled. At an elevation of 1800 feet, I imagine this home and the surrounding trails would be fabulous in winter, too. We would love to return.

This home was immaculate and simply gorgeous with oversized windows in every room. The fireplace was perfect for our needs and fully stocked with wood for the week. We enjoyed the hot tub as well. Everything was extremely clean. We also had no issues communicating with Natalie during the stay. At one point we needed the driveway to be salted and sanded and that was handled very quickly. We would love to stay again in the near future!

Upon arrival, we were given a very helpful and thorough tour of the house by one of the owners. We felt immediately at home and stunned by the beauty and comfort of the home that was accentuated by large windows providing multiple view of the woods surrounding the property and making it a magical setting during daylight hours when we could observe the wildlife and woods surrounding the property.
The dining room contained a variety of large beautiful plants decorated with lights and ornaments giving the room a festive flair. Each room contained interesting antiques and pictures that added to the cozy feel of a rustic environment.
The bedrooms were lovely with comfortable beds and comforters and three full bathrooms filled with many side towels. The bathroom off the master bedroom upstairs included a delightful jacuzzi.
The kitchen was modern and centrally located and in close proximity of the charming dining room and elegant recessed living room. A fireplace in the living room and a pellet wood stove in the downstairs area kept us warm and cozy during our entire stay.
Our children/grandchildren loved their room with bunk beds and spent happy hours outside playing in the snow.
We enjoyed all the amenities that the house had to offer and felt comfortable and warm during our entire stay.
We appreciated the receptiveness of our hosts to our needs and their welcoming gestures upon our arrival.
We forgot an item upon leaving and they were very kind in their willingness to ship it to our home.
It was overall just the loveliest time, and we can't imagine having stayed anywhere else in the Berkshires over the Christmas holiday.
We appreciated everything that our hosts provided to make it such a wonderful experience.
Thank you for everything! We would love to come back for another stay!
