Guests highlighted the great location, spacious rooms with plenty of beds, perfect outdoor spaces for meals and fires, and the helpfulness of the owner. Highly recommended for families and groups.

We had a great time. The location was perfect and we were able to travel around the island by car as well as many places that were within walking distance. The house was clean with the option to use sheets/towels left at the house or bring our own. The best part though was that we were able to bring out 2 dogs. They loved the house and there were so many places for them to go when it was walk time. Ellen was easy to communicate with and ready to take care of any issues that might arise (although none did-our vacation was perfect in every way!).

Ellen is an excellent host!
1.0 / 5.0
I want to say that I have stayed at probably 20 places over the past five years and have never left a bad review.
I will start by saying that Ellen the host was very friendly and called before we arrived to help us with check in.
When we arrived, there was trash all over the deck, food stuck to the table, globs of conditioner in the outdoor shower and pine needles all over everything. I spent probably an hour tidying and sweeping the outdoor area because it was our family’s vacation and I was going to make the best of it. The yard was full of old brush and logs, trash barrels, and broken grills overgrown with weeds. The cushions were covered in stains and dog hair.
The house is about 20 feet from the main Edgartown to Vineyard Haven road which meant cars constantly going by at about 50 mph so even tho the bike lane is there, I was nervous to send my kids out.
Finally, there was so much clutter everywhere. When we walked in the door there was cleaning stuff for miles (but no usable broom), lobster pots, just so much random stuff and in a fairly small house it made the place feel very cluttered. The sofa nearly obstructs the front door. The bathrooms are old with moldy caulking and mirrors that are rusty. The toilet paper and dish holders are rusty too.
This house was loved sometime in the early 2000s, but needs a strong decluttering and updating. Disappointing given the huge expense for our family and time we won’t get back.

Loved our stay in this cozy home! Really enjoyed using the bike path and exploring the woods nearby.
So many amenities.. beach chairs, boogie boards, games, books.. and we used them all.
Great stay in this home walking distance to restaurants, the movie theater and shops.

We spent the perfect week in Edgartown!
This our second year staying at this and it was even better than last year.
The location is perfect! South Beach and the Jaws Bridge in Oak Bluffs are a short drive or bike ride away. With 6 kids between the ages of 12 and 17, this was very important to us. You can walk into Edgartown center or over to Stop and Shop which is also a huge plus. Don’t feel like driving or riding? The bus stop is right down the street.
The house has plenty of bedrooms and beds and is absolutely charming. It is set back from the road and a fence and large flower bushes provide plenty of privacy. There is a large front and back yard. I spent every morning on the deck enjoying my coffee and the hydrangeas.
The house is stocked with everything a family could need. Tons of beach towels, beach chairs , linens, a fully stocked kitchen, and board games and puzzles. I mentioned to Ellen how much the kids enjoyed all the games last year and she sent 5 new ones!
Ellen is friendly and attentive. She quickly answered any questions I had and checked in to make sure we were having a great time.
We will definitely be back and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

The home was comfortable, the kitchen had all the tools we needed to prep meals for a family, and the location was ideal. The home owner was also in touch to ensure any questions that we had were answered. We loved our time there.

This is a great location. You can easily walk to Edgartown town center and it has easy access to some beautiful trails through the island preserve. Plenty of room for everyone in this house. Though we didn't use the outside space much (with the exception of coffee on the deck in the morning), it is perfect for hanging and grilling out.
The house can hold a lot of guests with the way the bed are arranged. The master has it's own bathroom which was a big bonus. The rest of the rooms share it's own bath.
Because we came before the high season, we were allotted some flexibility regarding check out. This was really nice b/c getting the bedding/towels washed before 10:00 would be a challenge (lots of beds!). We brought our dog and were pleasantly surprised that there was a long dog line already attached to the deck outside. The house is on a busy island road with fast moving traffic but there is some privacy due to a fence and the fact that the house is set back a bit. Make sure your littles and your dogs don't wander too far!
There were a couple of small items I needed to discuss with the owner and she could not have been more accessible.
We plan to stay here again at the same time next year (HS graduation) and would recommend this home to anyone coming to the island.

The home had all the amenities you could ever ask for. The rooms were spacious and had more than enough beds for everyone. The location was perfect. We could bike to downtown Edgartown and walk to nearby restaurants. It was a short drive to Oak Bluffs. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm everyday, so we ate most of our meals out on the large deck. It was cool enough at nights to have a nice fire in the fire pit and make smores. Highly recommend renting from this host.

We had a wonderful week on the Vineyard. Ellen, the owner of the property, connected with me before we left, so the check-in process was flawless. The minute we walked into her house we felt right at home. Even our dog, Blue, settled in right away. The location is perfect- a nice walk into Edgartown and within a short drive of the other Vineyard towns and beaches. The night time fires in the cozy living room doing a puzzle or playing games was our family favorite. We loved every moment of our stay and hope to return.

We enjoyed our stay at Ellen’s house. It’s conveniently located to beaches and bike paths. We took advantage of both during our stay. The house is spotlessly clean, well supplied with a big kitchen and comfy sofas. We stayed in November when weather was too chilly to use the deck but we grilled a Bluefish my husband caught off Chappaquidick. We recommend this house to other groups visiting the Vineyard.

Delightfully welcoming, perfectly located, clean, (with comfortable beds for all!!!) and fully equipped cottage stay for our family of four at this spot at the Vineyard. This long weekend, in spite of weather, was spectacular. The owner was warm, generous, and available when we had questions! Hope to stay there again and again!

The house was cute, cozy, comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well-appointed with dishware, cooking equipment and gadgets. The location was great as far as being central to everything. The owner was very nice, and we very much enjoyed our stay. Note: if you search for a market or grocery, one might not turn up in your app, but there is a Stop and Shop just a half mile down the road.

We had 4 adults and this property had ample space for everyone. it was clean, cozy and had great deck space for family bbq. I would stay there again without hesitation. Ellen was right on time whenever we had a question, and we were right in the middle of going anywhere on the Island.

My wife and I stayed at Ellen’s house for a week. The house was perfect for our summer vacation as it provided easy access to Edgartown, short drive to Oaks Bluff and the rest of the island. In addition, if you forgot any items or wanted to talk a walk in the morning for a coffee, but stores and coffee shops were very close. Not to mention access to the bus right outside the property.
Ellen’s house was also great because it was puppy friendly which allowed us to bring our Boston terrier and while we brought our own lead, Ellen also had provided one. In addition, the house was spacious and would be great for a family as well with outdoor space and tons of games!

Ellen is a great host. Very communicative and helpful. The home was perfect for our family and we planned for more to come but they had to cancel. It would have still been plenty of room. Due to a family emergency, had to cancel the vehicle ferry and we dreaded taking the bus and carrying all of our luggage, beach chairs, coolers, etc. However, Ellen assured us she had beach chairs, cooler, umbrella, beach towels AND the bus stop was basically in the front yard. The only reason we won’t be back next year is the number in our party will be too big. Looking forward to staying there again.

This house has everything you need for a great vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. Close to Edgartown center, the beaches, and the supermarket. We appreciated all of the beach chairs, towels, and games to help keep the kids happy. Nice deck, grill, and plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. Ellen is a joy to work with and we hope to return for another vacation. This is a great place for families!

We have family on the island and we rent so that our dog can stay with us since our family has cats. This property was exactly what we needed and what it was advertised to be. The pre-season timeframe (5/7-5/17) was perfect because there was not much traffic at all on the Edgartown Vineyard Haven Road. Even when there were cars there it didn't bother us because the home has a nice privacy fence that separates the front yard from the street. The backyard is a good size and the deck is really nice and new/newer. We were the first to use the home in the season and there was a brand new grill which we didn't use but the next booking would be lucky to have it. We would definitely return to this property in the future.

We stayed in this charming home in Edgartown for my daughter’s wedding in September. Communication with the Host was terrific! Ellen was available to answer questions not only about the VRBO property but about the island, ferry information and places to visit if time allowed.
The house was exactly what we needed - plenty of room for our guests, so close to downtown where the wedding took place, and easy access to and from the ferry terminals. Everything we needed, and more was at the house. Dishes, glasses, pots, pans etc. The ice maker in the freezer worked perfectly which helped with our toasts for the bride and groom! The large deck was perfect for morning coffee and evening chats. Although we only had two cars, there is plenty of room for parking as needed. The home was very clean, and everything worked as expected. Some of the other wedding guests stopped by on the way to the ceremony and loved the house too!
Recommended. Will stay again if the opportunity comes. Everything was perfect!
Thank you Ellen!

Upon entering the house there was a distinct odor. The house was not clean. Odor also in master bedroom bathroom. Main bathroom shower doesn’t drain. Outside furniture aged. Sweeping deck daily didn’t stop the pine needles from falling off roof.

Good house for family of 6. Great location, easy access to state beach, grocery store and restaurants in Edgartown. Bike path right out your front door! Enough beach chairs, yard/board games great for the kids!!!!! Great deck area with patio furniture and grill. Couple large pots big enough to cook 4 lobsters in at same time left the other for our steamers!!! All cookware that you need for your stay
House could use a good deep cleaning & organization of cleaning products/paper towels/toilet paper/ odds & ends. Lacking space to place your grocery’s/snacks. Hard to tell what you brought and what was suppose to stay. No available cabinets or pantry(cleaned off top of washer/dryer to use as a pantry. Cob webs in corners and under beds.
Had to wash sheets/towels day of departure. Wasn’t bad got them done in 2 loads oversized washer & dryer in house, Worked well
Overall good property & great location!!!!

Wonderful Vineyard Home!
We have regularly visited the Vineyard and wanted to stay in Edgarton this year so we chose Ellen's home. The house is perfect for a family with a dog, as it is clean and well taken care of. It is on a busy road, but is set off sufficiently from it and has a nice fence around the front of the home so my dog had lots of room to play and run around. The rooms are large and comfortable, with lots of light and air conditioning so it was great. Ellen stocks the home with lots of games and activities so you will never be bored. She was also incredible kind and made herself available throughout our stay. It was very convenient to be on the bike path, and it was a quick walk into town with some good restaurants and Stop and Shop within walking distance. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck, eating meals and enjoying the beautiful weather. Thank you for a great summer vacation and it was a pleasure to stay in your home!

This was the best stocked house, ever! It was very comfortable, more than enough space for everyone to sleep. It was close to Edgartown, on a main road and easily accessible to the island.

We had a great time
The location was great. Walking to some local restaurants and able to bike most places. Ellen was very nice and made herself available if/when needed. We had 4 adults and 4 children which was kind of crowded. The house could be a bit cleaner - cobwebs in corners and under furniture, but overall was a great experience. Did not realize the throw pillows on couch were filled with down and could've been a problem if allergic.

Home away from Home
We came to Martha's because it was on our bucket list but this home and island gave us more than we could have ever expected. I see why people live here. The home from Martha's Vineyard at it's best. Had everything you could need plus close to everything. The home owner was so wonderful. Always helpful and gave us some wonderful places to visit and Eat. Fabulous Food and everyone on Martha's Vineyard was spectacular. Nice, friendly and inviting. Loved every minute. Hope to return again.

Perfect Location!
We had a great stay! The house is very comfortable and is in a GREAT location. Could use a deep cleaning and some de-cluttering but has everything you need. Newer washer/dryer. Yard, deck and outdoor furniture is lovely! AC in bedrooms was a bonus. Would rent again!

Good location and comfortable home.
We enjoyed our stay, home is warm
And comfortable and 3 bedrooms was a real bonus, place could use some
TLC. It was April so we didn’t use outdoor space. Kitchen is very well equipped. I recommend people bring their own bedlinen and towels as rushing to do laundry on departure day to catch ferry was a real bummer.

A Great Base Camp
Although it's on a more main road, don't let that deter you. This house feels cozy and secluded and is an absolutely fabulous location to walk to Edgartown Beach and Caroline Tuthill Preserve. It's got great water pressure, comfy sofas if you're feeling like movie night, and is a great basecamp for an MV Trip. Thank you Ellen!!
