Now to the finca itself:
This lovingly constructed and very well maintained finca is located in the southern Aridane Valley at an altitude of about 550m. Its appearance is dominated by an ancient and vast cypress (El Ciprés) which donates the entire house shadow that you can make good use especially in summer. This tree also has given the estate its name. On the plot grow many exotic plants, including orange, lemon and avocado trees from which guests can avail themselves happy.
The Finca 'El Ciprés' is located on a varied, multi-terraced property with over 1500 square meters, from which one has on each of the terraces a truly magnificent view of the sea and mountains. Beneath the land, within sight of the terraces is related to the plot of green space, play in the children without danger and thereby can be observed. A parking space is located directly on the property.
The building is a perfect mix of ancient and modern ingredients Spanish style elements. It has been renovated several times and expanded over the past 20 years and has grown to its present architecture.
The house has two apartments that are completely separate and have separate entrances and terraces:
The ground floor apartment consists essentially of two centuries-old pajeros which house the living room and the master bedroom with a full double bed. In intervening newly built middle tract, the entrance area, which merges harmoniously located in a dining area with 5 seats and then. In the well-equipped kitchen with a modern cooker, baking oven, refrigerator, coffee maker and many other devices From this central area from all other rooms can be reached, as well as the second bedroom and the new bathroom with shower, bidet and toilet and a large marble vanity. From the living room and the second bedroom you can look out into the conservatory and -Go who always has a pleasant warmth even in the few cooler days. Furthermore, the apartment has a fireplace for cozy evenings and the entire house is equipped with central heating, which can be found rarely on La Palma.
For the hot days this apartment is also very well equipped: Through the 70cm thick walls of the old Pajero and the huge cypress, which donates the entire house shadow, it is internally not getting too hot and also on the terraces will always find a shady spot.
The apartment includes three terraces on three different levels: one in the west of the house under the big cypress that you enter from the winter garden. From there you have the best view of the entire environment, from the Atlantic Ocean, over the caldera up to the Cumbre the famous Cloud waterfall. From the kitchen you can reach via a small staircase, the breakfast terrace, surrounded by palm trees and succulents. The third terrace is located in the north of the house and is ideal for really hot summer days, because the building shaded patio complete this.
The upstairs apartment has its own entrance directly from the parking lot. About a small staircase with 7 steps to reach the front door, through which one enters an approximately 40 square meters large studio. On the left side is the sleeping area, furnished with a large double bed with a width of 150cm and a large bedroom closet, where takes even the contents of a royal journey chest.
With a half-height room divider separated from the sleeping area is located in the right half of the kitchen, also generously equipped with ceramic hob and baking oven and various other accessories, and the seating area with table and chairs. From here you also have access to a small balcony where you can sit with 2 people. The entrance to the shower toilet is located just to the right of the entrance door.
To this apartment belongs a roof terrace with an area of more than 40 square meters, from which the complete all-round views over the whole valley of Aridane, from the Atlantic via Caldera, Cumbre to the Roque de Nambroque in the East is possible. You can reach this roof terrace on the continuation of its own staircase leading to the entrance of the apartment.
The equipment of the house includes central heating for all rooms and a washing machine that can use free of charge to guests. An Internet connection can be provided on request.
You can also rent these apartments individually or together as a holiday home. The lower apartment is 'exclusively' reserve, ie the upper apartment will be free, so you have the whole land for themselves.
In the immediate vicinity, only a few hundred meters away, is a small shop where you can buy practically anything except fresh meat, what you need for everyday life, of course, fresh bread. Almost every day comes a van selling fresh fish to the house.

Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt in der Finca mehr als nur zufrieden, die Habekosts waren sehr zuvorkommend und haben uns sehr gut vor der Anreise über jegliches Wissenswertes informiert, die Schlüsselvergabe durch die Haushälterin hat auch problemlos funktioniert, das Haus wurde sauber übergeben. Das Objekt ist wirklich sehr schön mit direktem Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang, woran man sich echt gewöhnen könnte. Hinzu kommt der stets gepflegte und wunderschöne Garten in dem man sich als Gast mehr als nur wohl fühlt. Wir haben den Urlaub in der Finca El Cypres sehr genossen und können es nur weiterempfehlen.

We had a very pleasant stay at "El Ciprés". The property is very comfortable and has plenty of space. We particularly enjoyed the bright conservatory that has lovely views to the west. Perfect for watching the sunsets.
The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything needed for preparing meals. We enjoyed making a fire in the evening and relaxing in the lounge.
The location of the property is also excellent. There are many walks within easy reach, including a super hike from St Nicolas (5 minutes drive away) up to the lava fields.The coast is also close by as are the local towns of El Paso and Los Llanos. The National Park is just past El Paso where there are many more hiking options.
There are a number of guides and books in the property although these were all in German. Maybe a few in English would be helpful to non German speaking clients.
All in all we would highly recommend this property for anyone looking to stay on La Palma.

We enjoyed our stay in this generously laid out and spacious finca. The terraces are lovely, the inside space is also very nice, although the weather was so good that we didn't spend much time inside. The finca is very well situated for exploring the South, but it is central enough to also see the north of the island on day trips. The owners were very helpful and we would not hesitate to recommend El Cypres to others.
