Perfect location for us. High Trestle Trail and the Uptown neighborhood right outside our door. Bikes, bites, beer. And a float down the Des Moines River to cap it off. Great summer getaway.

We had a lot of fun for our family of 6. The beds were awesome, very comfortable for a good nights sleep. The hot tub was great in the evenings. We did spend a little time figuring out the light switches. We loved the wide open area with the table and the living room area, made it nice for playing board games and having the tv on to watch so we were all together. We could have used another couch or more seating by the tv to watch movies together. It was a very nice neighborhood and the directions were very clear as to how to enter the house and the hot tub house. Great hosts!!!!

We had a great stay at this lovely property located mere steps from the high trestle trail! The owner Natalie was great to work with and very responsive to our questions. The house was clean with very nice furnishings, and a well stocked kitchen. Bedrooms were very comfortable, and we spent lots of time on the deck, and the big hot tub was great after a chilly rainy day of bikingThe AMP park was right next door with a summer weekly Thursday night band, food trucks, a little train for the kiddos, and on Saturday a farmers market. Uptown was minutes away on foot with restaurants and some boutique shopping too. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Overall, the place is in a great location; Uptown Ankeny has a lot of nice little shops, cafes, breweries, and a lot of activities at the nearby "AMP". Ankeny itself is in a good position between Des Moines and Ames, so traveling to both is pretty easy to navigate. Another good point is that the hot tub is positively massive and well maintained.
The place, however, needs a little bit of a love. When we checked in, we noticed a couple of lightbulbs out. However, by the end of the first day, we needed to wash dishes as the dishes there were in a bit of a need-to-be-cleaned condition. The dishwasher was broken, we learned, and during our stay was replaced with a brand new one. The owner was very communicative but it didn't change the fact that the dishwasher clearly had been broken a while. In addition, one of the stove knobs was broken and the dryer only worked on a "high" cycle due to pending maintenance issues.
The part we regret the most is that there isn't a lot of comfortable lounging places in the house. There's not a good chair to just sit in and read a book, and the beds and couches all were a bit uncomfortable. It made our getaway a bit more difficult to do leisure activities with.
Overall, it's a nice place in a great location that needs a little attention to bring it up to a great value for the trip. However, for any issues, the owner is right to it with text messages, so things get fixed and handled quickly.

The accommodations were great, just what we needed for our stay. Natalie and Aaron let us check in early which was a blessing and we had everything we needed for the duration of our stay.

My 3 friends and our daughters really enjoyed our stay here! We did a lot of shopping at the outlet mall and indoor mall and came back in the evenings to enjoy time together hanging out in the hot tub and watching movies. Natalie was wonderfully responsive and helpful. Thanks so much for contributing to our fantastic weekend!

Overall, the property was well-kept and served us well for our weekend trip. However, there were some hiccups in communication with the property manager and appropriate bedding for all guests. When we arrived at the property for check-in, the code that was provided to us did not work. We reached out to the property manager multiple times using the phone number they gave with no response. Ultimately, we reached out the Vrbo directly and they were able to provide the phone number of the co-owner of the property who was able to give us the correct code to unlock the door. Once inside, we realized that the two futons on the main level did not have any bedding. We had to reach out to the co-owner again who was finally able to get a hold of the property manager to tell us how to unlock the linen closet. We were able to find sheets for the futons, but no extra pillows or blankets so we had to share from the beds upstairs. While a slightly inconvenient start, the property is in a great location and all guests still thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Property is located in the uptown part of Ankeny, IA but only a 5 or 10 minute drive to all the new developments around including the TOAST wedding venue. The cute little downtown has a great pizza and ice cream place and a nice bar/restaurant with rooftop dining available. This is all next to an extensive trail system that goes thru the downtown so if you want to jog, walk, or bike you are all set. The property was as advertised and was very comfortable for our family (all adults) with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and a half bathroom downstairs. Would definitely stay there again.

The house was perfect for our week with family. Had a wedding to go to and a reunion so we needed to make some food to take and share. This house was well stocked with cooking utensils so we were set! Only wish the hot tub had been a bit warmer.

This property is a real gem. It’s so clean and comfortable with just about everything you could need and expect in a vacation home. The location was better than we thought with the Ankeny Farmers Market on Saturday, and wonderful eatery’s & boutiques just around the corner. The owners are amazingly responsive to any and all of our requests and questions. Please don’t hesitate to rent this home, it made for a wonderful stay.

We were 2 small families in town for Iowa State graduation/commencement. The house provided us with plenty of room to gather & socialize, was clean, centrally located between Ames for the commencement & Des Moines for the celebration dinner. We were able to enjoy the hot tub in small increments because we over heated in the enclosed room too quickly! It would be perfect in cold weather though. If we needed to be back in this area we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Place was everything we expected and owners were very responsive to any needs. Would recommend to others and for sure stay again.

We stayed here for Iowa State’s family weekend. Perfect spot for our family to gather and not too far from Ames to be able to spend plenty of time on campus.

We rented this space in snowy December and had a wonderful time! The giant hot tub was everyone’s favorite. We cooked happily in the well stocked kitchen and played board games, etc for 5 days. We would gladly rent this place again.
There was one glitch: the wi-fi went out on day 3, but the owners responded quickly. It was a holiday weekend and we ended up not getting the internet back, but we didn’t miss it: we just went back to the hot tub!

This was a double booking no one knows how it happened. But it did. My party arrived 1st to location is only reason why we were told we got to stay. The other party arrived and their reservation was canceled at their arrival. They were upset with us. I reached out to owner who said not sure what happened you were their 1st. The code has not been changed other party revealed they stayed here before months prior and code was the same. . The owner did come it get code changed. In evening of 1st night. reached out to owner and VRBO. And asked for a discount for the stress and inconvenience I have reached out to VRBO twice and they state they will get back to me. No response as of yet. The house was roomy and comfortable. The 1st night very stressful. We only stayed two nights. Poor customer service responses

We had a wonderful weekend with friends and family from all over the country. Getting into the property was not exactly easy but we finally did but never found the garage remote. Several were disappointed that hot tub was so dirty it was unusable. Many were confused about entering the property since it was only from the driveway behind a fence.. Plenty of linens and bedding. Stairs made it a little hard for the elderly. Just FYI we did not stay on Sunday night. I think we left town soon after one on Sunday afternoon. We left part of a melon in the frig since it's a little hard to take that on the plane. Thank you for everything. We loved seeing Ankeny again after all these years.

Very charming house in the perfect area of Ankeny
The house was very spacious, clean and charming. Walking distance to lots of cute shops, restaurants and parks. The nice big Hy-Vee grocery store is right down the street. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are big. We will stay again the next time we are in town visiting family.

Family Fun in Ankeny
Our entire family enjoyed staying at this nicely renovated home. The hot tub was huge and provided a relaxing soak. Natalie answered any questions I had quickly and called to make sure our check in went smoothly. The location was ideal for us and we could walk to great restaurants and the downtown area.

Very cozy older home that has been updated. Everything we needed and really appreciated the fenced in yard for our small dog. Will stay again in the need arises.

Practically perfect
This house was absolutely wonderful. We did a ladies staycation. The layout is great. The kitchen has just about everything you could need. The hot tub was great. The owners are quick to respond & great to work with. (No issues with the house, some of the people got Covid and we had to reschedule last minute). The only thing I can say would make it better would be thicker curtains in the master bedroom. I highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed.

Weekend Getaway
We are special needs parents to medically fragile children and couldn’t risk being too far from home but still needed some respite time so we chose this place not far from us for a parent only stay-cation and I am so glad we did.
We had a slight hiccup trying to get into the property, which the owners responded to quickly and had us in and settled, but after that small issue the stay was perfect. The owners were kind enough to help us add a night to the stay when we found we had extra child care. The house is cozy and CLEAN. Large enough for a family and well stocked. Plenty of space for a family to eat, watch TV, hang out. The bedrooms and bathrooms were nice sized too. It’s decorated nicely.
But the real story for us was the bed (amazing), the primary shower (very nice) and the hot tub. Did I mention the HOT TUB? Love! I’m sad I am not still sitting in that hot tub. Big enough for a large group. We didn’t have any trouble using it or putting the cover back on but the cover is bulky because the hot tub is so large so it might be difficult for anyone who might have physical limitations.
This property is close to nice restaurants /bars/entertainment and boutique shopping. We ate out all weekend and had a big variety of options. A movie theater/ bowling ally is close as well. But the house is also set up to cook and has lots of amenities in the kitchen. It also has a cute deck and grill but it was too cold for us to use that weekend.
The house is divided up and has retail properties at the front. It wasn’t a problem for us. The retail business was super quiet and parking wasn’t an issue at all. They were not in the retail space past 5pm. The back yard is fenced and private.
So relaxing. So glad we went. Would go again in a heart beat.

Great place to stay with a family near Adventureland!
I stayed at this house with my husband and two teenagers- 14 and 17. This house was so beautiful on the inside it had everything we needed. The house was right next to the trails and waking up each morning and walking was such a wonderful surprise! The hot tub room was so nice, it was so big! Would definitely stay at this house again next time we visit Adventureland.

Girl’s Weekend
My college girlfriends and I used this property for our yearly get together. The house itself is VERY spacious, clean and comfortable. The deck was great for sitting outdoors and the hot tub is HUGE and if it wasn’t close to 100 degrees outside, we would have spent much more time in it! The owners were wonderful to work with and easy to get ahold of. The refrigerator was not working when we arrived. They were in touch with the maintenance man and made sure to get us some coolers and ice until it could be fixed. Highly recommended!!

Nice home tucked away!
Great place to stay! Home was located in a centralized location and close to everything. The swim spa was huge and was nice to utilize rain or shine because of it being in it's own room with many windows. The owners had fantastic communication and responded quickly!
