About this house rental

Jamieson Bay is the perfect place for your next holiday or short break. So close to Auckland yet you feel so far away. The minute you turn off the main highway and wind up the small country road feel the stress melt away and enjoy the amazing views as you approach the tranquility of the bay.

The bach, recently renovated by its interior designer owner is stylish and well appointed with quality new furniture and beds but still retains that bachy relaxed holiday feeling. Lounge on the deck or under a tree in the beanbags and watch the kids swimming in the safe, sheltered waters. Enjoy the evenings gazing at the view, soaking in the spa and listening to the Tui, Kereru and Fantails playing in the pohutakawas. In winter snuggle up by the pot belly fire.

There is a kayak if you feel like a bit of action on the water, and a tree swing on the beach for the kids.

Or, bring your own boat. There’s plenty of parking and a boat ramp 100m from the front lawn, and its generally calm enough to anchor in the bay. The sheltered waters are also great for water skiing and biscuiting and the fishing is fabulous too. There are many places to visit in a boat including going up the river to the historic town of Warkworth, or out to the islands of Motuora or Kawau.

At low tide you can walk around the coast to numerous beautiful bays including Sullivans Bay regional park or if your feeling more energetic you can walk over the hill via the road. You can also drive to Sullivans Bay (3 min) and do the walking trails that meander through the farmland to secluded bays.

There are many fabulous places to visit nearby including Puhoi, Matakana, Omaha, Snells Beach where you will find markets, historic villages, vineyards, pubs, cafes, shops, and movie theaters.

There are two televisions, a DVD player and plenty of board games and cards if the weather is unkind.

Property was as described, plenty of crockery, cutlery and other essential utensils, especially important for (in our case) a group of 6, great location, peaceful and relaxing. Only issue, not under the owner’s control, was the uneven hill up to the property, regularly catching the underside of our hire cars despite careful driving. Everything else ideal, thank you.

We had the privilege of staying in this little slice of paradise over a rainy queen's birthday weekend. The home had a warm fire and large spa so we were cozy! Our host was so helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our stay. This is a great home for families and groups as the bunkroom provides plenty of bedding options and the multi bathrooms meant no queues!

Really great kiwi Bach in an amazing location. Beautiful views and a well appointed home. My kids really enjoyed use of the kayak and the hot tub. Great comms from the owner. Would love to revisit in the future.

Incredible view and beautiful house. Tastefully furnished, not your normal holiday Bach. Well equipped and Road access to Jamieson’s Bay is not for nervous drivers. You may need to reverse if meeting oncoming vehicles on one section. Steep pathways to the house from parking areas maybe not suitable for the less mobile. We hope we can return as it is such a relaxing place.

Great spot to relax

Amazing outlook, spent the early mornings and evenings on bean bags watching the world go by. Spent our 15 year wedding anniversary here and had an amazing time. Took bikes and double kayak and did the Matakana to Omaha Trail (recommended) and kayaked as far as Beehive Island, but spent most of our time swimming at Saddleback Island. Great spot to relax or explore.

location was mint, the renovation of the traditional bach is impeccable, well stocked kitchen (though small it was really useable) incredible views and plenty of decking for a largish party to spill out into. great weather made the space very useable. Spa a bonus!

The ebb and flow of the tide. The fantails in the kowhai tree. What a beautiful and peaceful place and space. We had such a lovely stay. Not one aspect was overlooked from the owners in ensuring their guests had a comfortable stay. The linen, the well-equipped and perfectly formed kitchen, the board-games, the books (especially Love Letters to the Landscape - we all fought over that), that amazingly spacious and efficient wee dishwasher, the outdoor fire, that incredible view... this property is on our top 10 for sure.

This is a lovely bach in a gorgeous, quiet bay. The view is beautiful and the walks around the area are stunning. Our group of 10 enjoyed a winter break with the fire on and the spa pool available which was lovely.. nice and big and clean. The house is well set up, especially the kitchen for foodies! There were plenty of nice blankets and bean bags. All very cosy. Highly recommend.
