About this house rental
Spacious, comfortable vacation home located on Love Point, the northern tip of Kent Island, in the heart of the upper Chesapeake Bay. This beachfront property is adjacent to the former grounds of the historic Love Point Hotel grand resort, where well-to-do families once took steamboats from Baltimore piers to vacation in style (now Love Point State Park). On the coveted northeastern side of Kent Island, you have views of pleasure craft, fishing vessels, and an array of wildlife (including dolphins on occasion) – no commercial ship traffic/anchorage in view from here.
The Home: Large master suite w/private Jacuzzi and shower. Five bedrooms with a large 3rd floor dorm, sleeps 21-23 (options for up to 37). One full bedroom requires no stairs. Fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, a chef’s delight! Can seat 50 for dinner indoors in dining room, sun room, and two screened sun porches, all with beautiful views. Gorgeous living room with fireplace with heat exchange/blower.
The Property: The grounds are nearly four acres: high ground around the house & courtyard, 1/2 acre tidal pond and wetlands toward the shore, and 240 feet of sandy beachfront. Offshore jetties create a protected lagoon by the beach, providing safety for kids swimming and those learning to kayak or paddle board. There is outstanding bird watching from the sun room and from the northeast sun porch, 40 yards from the half-acre tidal pond on the grounds. The property is directly across the water from Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge. Bird watching is peak over morning coffee or at dusk, depending on the species. Spectacular sunrises over the water. Plenty of space to play and wander. Catch fish and crabs right from the property, and prepare a feast for the group.
The Location & Area: Ten minutes to the seafood restaurants, bars, marinas, and many other activities of Kent Narrows. It is right across the Bay Bridge from Annapolis and 40 miles to St. Michaels. Close to DC and Baltimore, it is only 60 miles from Springfield, VA. Coming across from the Western Shore, you will part with any shore traffic immediately, taking the first exit after the Bay Bridge. It seems like the other side of the world, though, once you arrive on the Island and you immediately feel your blood pressure drop.
As isolated as Love Point is, itself, there is a wide range of activities close by, especially water and nature activities. Or shop at nearby outlets. See “ATTRACTIONS”, “LEISURE & ACTIVITIES”, and “SPORTS & ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES” sections for detail.
Special Notes: Six kayaks and six paddle boards provided, with paddles and life jackets. Large grass field for group sporting activities or RV/boat/trailer parking (100’ x 50’). Four wedding venues on island.
Linens, towels, beach towels, basic toiletries provided. See the AMENITIES sections for many more details on this gem, and hints on the local area.
VRBO/Homeaway Story: Rented repeatedly from VRBO/Homeaway, arranging extended family & friend get-togethers at the shore, in the mountains, etc. Everyone kept asking me to go back to this property each year. Fell in love with it and bought it.
Perfect for group accommodations for Annapolis Boat Shows, U.S. Naval Academy Graduation, Ring Dance, and other events.

I can not express how lovely our stay was at Hal’s gorgeous house! From the well stocked large kitchen, to the oversized bedrooms, the wonderful screened in porch for our morning coffee, the beautiful TWO fire pits for s’mores and laughter! The property itself is so large you feel like you are in your own private oasis. The amazing thing you are also only 15 minutes away from a target & a supermarket! The private beach is a slice of heaven, honestly. Watching all my grandkids swim, paddle board, Kayak and fish was a great joy, for all of us. As if the house is not enough, there is an adorable winery 5 minutes down the road. Hal himself was so kind and helpful, extremely quick to respond. Our family highly recommends Hal’s Hidden Hideaway Oasis for your next family vacation!

For a family of 18 (10 adults & 8 children of varying ages) who love swimming, kayaking, fishing, crabbing, golfing, eating, playing games and just being together, this home checked all the boxes. Set in a quiet neighborhood just down the road from farm fields and vineyards with views from the house looking out over the water, the location is ideal. The wildlife (deer, foxes, eagles and osprey) was spectacular and the homeowner Hal was friendly, helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for a fun, wonderful and unforgettable family vacation.

Not only is the island a great place to vacation but this particular house can’t be beat. Beautiful house. Well maintained. So many little extras! Hal also helped us find our second rental across the street. Having the whole family near each other was wonderful. We had a great experience!

This property had everything we needed for a multigenerational family gathering of 15. Space for everyone to gather for meals or games, and spaces for getting away to read, think, or just watch the birds and rabbits forage. All basic supplies are in place and plenty of room for our own grocery overstock. Host is available, friendly and helpful.
We were in a perfect spot for our DC and Baltimore explorations, but I really wish we had a few more days to just stay onsite and enjoy the beach area, firepit, and quiet porch sitting.
We will be back...
One tip: do NOT buy ice at the liquor store beside the Food Lion

Hal was great! House was great! The boats were amazing! The students could not stop raving and said we should book the house now for next year!

Had an awesome stay over Memorial Day weekend at Love Point. The house comfortably fit our large group - there is tons of space indoors and outdoors. We had a blast all weekend. Hal was super friendly and answered all our questions right away. I would definitely come back

Whaat a nice property this is. A group of 10 of us stayed at the house & it was perfect, more beds than we needed actually. House was clean, tons on towels. We forgot coffee but owner supplies Keurig k-cups & to go cups. This was a nice touch. Firepit is great, screened in porch was awesome. We cooked a lot & kitchen had everything we needed. Owner was great & we can't wait to do it again next year.

Fantastic property for multi-generational family fun. Beach lovers got their fill and land lovers enjoyed inside play time and bird watching from the all-season sunroom. Hal is a great host. Everything was as expected or better.

The home was clean and spacious. We felt very comfortable and had plenty of room to visit and enjoy each other's company. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The homeowner was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. Highly recommend this home for a getaway.

I planned a relaxing get-away retreat for myself and 23 other people, and this house could not have been more perfect! The wildlife and ambiance of the location is great to expereince, and we were all able to comfortably relax for the weekend. Thank you very much, Hal!

This was our second stay at Love Point Idyll and I cannot wait to return. This place has everything and a host that is beyond compare. If only I could give it a rating higher than 5 stars! Thanks again Hal!

Beautiful location on the bay, with tons of space and privacy. The owner was great to work with and very helpful in the lead-up to the vacation. Great, well appointed kitchen, with plenty of dining and lounging areas. We would definitely go back.

We needed a “home base” for my niece’s wedding on Kent Island and one suitable for a post wedding family brunch. This house on love point was perfect. Plenty of room, amazing views, and convenient location. The many porches to take in the views, and the fire pit on a chilly night added to the experience. While the wedding was a highlight, the visit from a peahen was pretty nice too.

Hal and this rental properly were incredible and perfect start to finish. I rented this property with my now wife and our entire wedding party (21 people total) and from the day I booked Hal was an incredible communicator both reaching out and responding to any questions we had. In addition, he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed for our wedding weekend and accommodating us having family and friends over during the day. The property itself was incredible, especially the private beach. The advertised/posted photos and descriptions are accurate.

Our family was gathered in the area for a wedding. Although we only had nine people sleeping here, we accommodated other relatives for meals and a crab feast. The house has several seating areas, including the beach area, where people could sit down and catch up. Had it been warmer weather, we would have also enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. Overall, it suited our needs perfectly.

This was definitely one of our best vacation rentals! Hal was wonderful to work with. Very responsive, helpful. and super accommodating. The house was large enough to work for our 6 person family, plus our 2 married children. The house is organized and very well stocked. We particularly liked that kitchen was clearly labeled. We loved the beach, especially the boats and paddle boards. Hal even arranged the perfect weather!! It was 80 degrees and sunny. The fire pit was perfect for our night time activity.
Overall, we really appreciated our stay, and would highly recommend.

We have a large group of 15 people plus 3 dogs, age from 10 to 90+. The house is large enough to fit everyone comfortably. The grandparents spent a lot of times in the screened front porch playing card games. The children were in the playroom next to dinning area when they are inside the house. Rest of us were hanging out in kitchen and living room. The dogs enjoyed the shallow beach (there were few jelly fish, but no one got stringed). Hal was very pleasant to deal with. He sent out detailed instructions ahead of arrival and answered all our questions quickly. He even had a 30 min call with us to provide additional tips and information. Everyone enjoyed the stay. Thanks Hal!

This is the second year that we've enjoyed a great house in a lovely, secluded location with its own beach. Wonderful for adults and small children.

First of all, the owner, Hal, was super to work with, very accommodating and quick to respond to all needs.
The property was quiet, out of the way and beautiful with its own beach, a pond and large lawn. The house was large and roomy for our family of 11 and full of amenities.
We spent a lot of time at the beach. The five grandkids, aged 11 to 3 loved kayaking, paddle boarding and building sandcastles. All the watercraft were provided by the owner along with PFDs of every size. We even tried crabbing with the crab pots provided. The children were fascinated seeing live crabs up close which prompted us to go to a restaurant where they served crabs! The kids really loved seeing the wildlife.
The kids really had fun with the various musical instruments. The older grandkids learned to play piano from our son-in-law. The whole family enjoyed playing bingo and doing puzzles mostly provided with the house.
The grandkids slept in the spacious attic area and woke up one morning to a nice surprise of a neighbor’s peacock looking in the window!
Love Point Idyll was a fantastic place for our family to get together. We had a lot of fun and good memories were made.

We had a wonderful gathering of friends and family for the week and got to spend quality time in the private beach and at all the great restaurants on Kent Island. The house sleeps so many people and was a great location for home base lounging on the porches or as a jump off spot for Annapolis and Baltimore. Would definitely recommend!

The property was great for the kids and to be able to spread out. The house was fully stocked and it was really nice to not have to bring towels, sheets, papertowels, toilet paper etc. Hal was very communicative and responded promptly to any questions we had. There were some jellyfish in the river the week we were there, but other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

Top floor is one big room where all kids can sleep. Varied configurations of beds in other 4 bedrooms. Large living, eating and kitchen area with own private beach and pond. Great for families with young children....sheltered jetty area, shallow water. Adequately clean accomodations but not luxury so good for average families with kids.

We have a large family and this home suited us perfectly. The location really works as it is close to BWI airport and Lyft will transport the people who needed to fly in. The location right on the water really worked as kids could run down and play in the sand and catch guppies, we all enjoy he Adirondack chairs and large umbrellas…kayaks were used constantly..we kayaked over to the winery for an adventure…and up the little creek to the pond. The fire circle with Adirondack chairs was fun for s’mores and kids running around the large lawns catching fireflies.
The inside space really worked for us…the extra freezer and fridge and large pantry areas really helped with the size of our group. We had 2 babies so the outside porch Day bed in the screened room was in demand…the other screened porch with dining table and outside living room was used all day long as was the front patio area with the swing…the glassed in other dining room and sitting room was used for meals and games…the living room attached to the kitchen was in constant use.
This is just a nice comfortable home and Hal could not have been more responsive with any questions…so glad we stayed here!

Milestone birthday celebrated with my lifelong BFFs at Love Point Idyll! It was a magical stay! We crammed so much into 2 days! Beautiful setting! Lovely views ! We really didn’t need to leave the property! We had everything we wanted right there! And the owner could not have been nicer! A beautiful memory that will last forever.

This house was amazing and had absolutely everything we needed for a fun-filled weekend trip. We had packed weekend with kayaking, yard games, and sitting by the fire. Hal (host) was great and was even willing to give us a tour of the property when we arrived. I’d love to stay here again!

The communication with Hal (the host) before and during our visit was amazing! He was extremely responsive & helpful, which was key in ensuring we had an amazing stay on property.
We had 16 friends from all over the country gather for a 3-night stay at this great property. The space was large enough to run at least 4 different board game tables inside without interfering with each other. The flow was spacious and open enough to support 16 people who don't normally live together and not have them get on each other's nerves too.
Everyone had terrific time, and the consensus was that this will be our first annual board gaming event. The only adjustment the group will make next time is possibly scheduling our visit for later in the year when temperatures are warmer. Many did take walks outside within the large, beautiful property, but the cold March temperatures didn't let us experience all that this amazing place has to offer. Will certainly rent this property from Hal again in the future.

We had a group of 12 to 16 including three generations for a family Thanksgiving get-together. This house, the location, accommodations and the whole experience could not have been better. Owner Hal was very responsive from the first communication throughout the stay and beyond. He sent us detailed instructions prior to our arrival. The house is large, comfortable, and well stocked with all the essentials. We felt so at home. I highly recommend this home for any kind of a large group or family gathering.
