The house was nice. It wasn't quite as secluded as we had expected. Getting checked into the gated community took some time as there was a long line of people waiting to register.
The property manager was very helpful and quick to get back to us.

This was our 4th or 5th year staying at this property, and we again had a great stay. They layout is perfect for a multi-generational group. The massive kitchen table allowed us to eat all meals together, and the multiple levels allowed us to spread out when we needed to.
The owner was extremely helpful when we were trying to figure out the fireplace controls, as was the property manager.
We definitely recommend!

The house is spacious and well-maintained. House was spotless. Location was quiet but close to amenities. Property manager couldn’t have been more responsive.
We would absolutely stay again.

Amazing wood work through the home made it feel like a cabin. Such fun juke box, pool table and shuffle board to thwart any boredom in a rain storm! Lake was so close with nice beach and pool (oh and a tiki bar)!!
We even went to 10th hole on the golf course and had lunch at the pub and mini-golfed!
Recommend for a family getaway!

My wife and I were the first to arrive.
We found the 3 bathrooms dirty. We hand to shop for cleaning supplies and spend the next 2 hours cleaning the bathroom floors, toilets, showers, and counter tops.
The entire kitchen including the oven needed to be cleaned, not to mention the BBQ grill was filthy.
After agreeing to the stipulations of the contract, a week before we were to arrive they told us to bring our own sheets or be charged an additional $75. Half way through our stay the WiFi stopped working. I contacted the management company and their response was that there was an outage in the area. Finally with more callers to the management company and 2 days with no service a repairman showed up and it was working in a few minutes.
I am requesting a refund of the cleaning charges

Home's location is great. Guests can see the end of Brookfield Lake and have easy access to stroll around it. Home was large enough to accommodate our party of 8 for both dining and sleeping needs.

The property needs some upgrades but the location was excellent. The house was spacious enough for 6 adults and four small children.

The house was amazing and the host Bob was beyond what I expected! There was so much to do in the house, around the community and areas around Pennsylvania. The only disappointment was the beds, not that comfy, but other than that it was perfect, can't wait to come back!!!!

Nice roomy house in a good location. Close to Scranton and Lake Wallenpaupack for other activities. However, 1 TV remote did not work, the A/C filter in LR had not been cleaned and the red light was blinking until we cleaned it ourselves and there were many cobwebs in the lower level bedroom. The mattresses on the main level were not comfortable to sleep on. Sitting on the deck was wonderful. I had my morning coffee there every morning and we also sat out in the evening. House has many games available to play and lots of kitchen dishes, glasses and all kinds of utensils. The Ice maker in the refrigerator did not work and we had to go out to buy ice and ice cube trays. We left the trays for the next people. I feel since there was no ice maker, at least provide a couple of trays for the ice. WiFi worked well. The basement game room was a hit for all.

Location is great, and the house has plenty of room for a large group. It's an older home, and there appears to be some deferred maintenance, but we were comfortable in it for the week. It definitely could have been cleaner upon arrival. Most of the mattresses are very hard, so we piled blankets under the sheets to soften them up a bit. The teenagers loved the game room! The owner and management agency were responsive when I had problems with the wifi and when one of the kids accidentally locked us out of one of the bedrooms. All in all, it was a nice stay.

This home was furnished with the most unique wood carved furniture. Bedrooms were as shown on pictures and for the most part comfortable. We had 11 family members with us one of which was 9 months pregnant. She had the baby the day after we returned from vacation. Outside of home could use some TLC. The Beaches were open, but the pools were closed which was a disappointment. First time at a gated community and the paperwork was 20 pages long. Probably won't be going back - mostly because we like to explore new places.

We had ten adults stay here for a long weekend. The house provided lots of comfortable places to hang out and watch movies, eat, and play games - exactly what we wanted and needed.
The house isn't the fanciest place you can rent - it's a bit dated, and shows some wear. But it's not bad at all, and the price matches what you'd expect to get. The biggest thing we wanted was comfortable places to hang out, and it had lots of that!
A few notable things: The master bath whirlpool wasn't working. The pool table sticks were all missing cue tips. The canopy over the outside grills was broken and in the way (but that may be due to recent ice storms).
Other than that, everything was great.

Had an amazing weekend in bobs property. There was plenty of sleep space and unlike many of the other homes this house had 4 bedrooms with queen sized beds which was perfect for us since we had 4 couples and didn’t have to pick straws to sleep on a bunk bed. The house has a pool table and shuffle board table in the game room. 3 bathrooms was also a big plus and a huge dinning table. The community ski slopes are only a 4 minute drive we had a blast can’t wait to go back.

We love that the place had three levels and the amount of games, and fireplace, and heating. The only issue we had was the snow storm where they could've removed the ice and salted it before we arrived. We had a few guess that fell, and we had a hard time getting the cars up the driveway. But the cabin was awesome!

We had a ladies weekend at this property. The house was perfect for our group of 11. We had space for everyone and didn’t feel crowded. There were lots of games that we didn’t have a chance to use, pool table, indoor shuffle board and air hockey. The juke box was a fun addition to have. It rained the whole weekend, so we weren’t able to sit out on the deck. Over all a great stay.

The area and home are perfect for a quiet getaway. The basement is man cave ready and there are tons of family board games to play. Everton was simply and the team was super polite.

The Hideout was a beautiful location for a relaxed family vacation and this home was spacious and our family of 9 fit comfortably. We found some issues with the cleanliness of the house (grass clippings in basement bedrooms, cobwebs in corners of bedrooms, broken window that leaked slightly with rain, moldy bathroom rug), although it didn’t feel dirty, just not properly maintained and the grill was just about unusable due to build up of food residue and grease, but overall it was a comfortable home that suited our needs.

Had a wonderful time. Lots to do in the house itself for entertainment. Would stay again! I was bummed that the jukebox was out of order, but it didn't really matter when all was said and done.

We enjoyed a family vacation with kids and grandkids. The house was spacious and comfortable. Bob answered questions quickly and installed extra air conditioning units when I inquired. The lake and pools were nice. The only down side is the size of the kitchen and lack of space for food items. The cabinets were full. The chairs around the table were very top heavy and fell a few times with a grandkid sitting in it. The table itself was a great size. We had the kids sit on the bench to be safe. The deck was well equipped with tables and chairs . We will definitely stay at this house again.

It was an amazing experience m. Minor things were wrong but we still enjoyed the overall experience very much and we understand things happen. The zoo was the best especially being right up the road. On arrival my aunt had to wipe down services with Lysol wipes and they were coming up black after being used but this is not property owners fault. The cleaning service needs to up their game a bit if they are being paid to do a service. So I highly recommend this placefpr a really awesome family vacation!

Bob's place is a perfect quiet getaway. The house was clean and well maintained. Plenty of activities in the house to keep you entertained. Kids loved the pool table, arcade game and corn hole. The house had plenty of parking for our 3 vehicles. House sits across the street from a little lake which is a nice fishing spot. The community is very nice, plenty of activities to do without having to leave. Saw some wildlife well at the hideout like deer, turkey, red fox and a few hawks. Very nice peaceful community in the mountains.

I rented this place with several other moms for a weekend away. We had a great time. The place was just as it was listed. The owner was responsive and we would definitely stay again. Beds were super comfortable and there were many games and activities to do just inside the home.

We very much enjoyed our week with our children and grandchildren! The rental was very clean, warm, and had everything we needed to cook meals, play games, and relax in comfort and a beautiful property. We enjoyed a scenic train ride in nearby Hawley and went skiing and tubing at Montage Mountain. Highly recommend for a family gathering or get-a-way!

We’ve been to the hideout once before during the winter months. Mostly we visit during the summer to get some time out on the lake. But we needed to get away since we hadn’t gone anywhere since summer of 19’. We’re so glad we decided to come to The Hideout. The house we chose this time was perfect. It was exactly what we needed. The game room downstairs kept the kids busy while the adults enjoyed drinks and music upstairs on our first night. The rooms were spotless. Actually, the entire house was. The kitchen had everything we needed. Both fireplaces were roaring and warmed us up after a long morning of sledding. We’re looking forward to the summer and hopefully getting this house again since it’s close to the lake. What made it even better is the owner. Bob was quick to answer any questions we had. If you have kids and want a great place to stay for a few days then look no further. The only problem we had was we didn’t book an extra day. Won’t happen again. We’re staying longer next time. Oh and it snowed the entire time we were there. We walked across the street to the lake and the view was amazing. See you soon, Bob. God bless.

We enjoyed our short stay. Bob answered all of my questions in a thorough & timely manner. All pictures accurately depicted the house. Plenty of beds for everyone to choose from and we enjoyed the rustic furniture decor. All appliances we used worked well. My family enjoyed the games in the den and our kids got a kick out of making song selections on the juke box. We skied both days of our stay and thought the mountain was terrific for our children as beginner skiers. Check in and departure were easy as well. We would stay here again!

Bob's home is perfect for groups of all ages. We did a last minute family getaway, which included ages 2-70, and we had such a wonderful time. The house is equipped with the essentials and more (juke box! pacman!), and the setup is perfect for groups or kids- lots of separate spaces for working and playing.
On top of that, Bob is responsive, friendly, and lovely to rent from. Look no further, your search is over.
We weren't able to use the Hideout amenities because of Covid, but we hope to be back and take advantage of the year round amenities the community offers.
Thank you, Bob! You gave us reprieve and a much needed change of scenery.
