About this cottage rental
All prices do not include a $139 housekeeping fee paid to the resort at checkout. I have a 4 night minimum stay requirement Mid May to Mid September. I have access to cottages 2br 1 bth and Timbers 2 br 2bth with screened in porch and jean-air grill and in unit Washer/Dryer.
The rental rate on the Timbers is 30% more. Both units sleep 6. This is a resort in which I have access to units. I DO NOT control the specific unit in which my vacationers will stay. Both the cottages and the Timbers have units with either a queen or 2 twins in the 2nd so let me know if you have a preference as I can request the type of configuration. Most often that is better handled at checking by my guests.
II do also have limited access to the Log Cabins, Villas and Town Homes at Christmas Mountain and the Odyssey Resort in the Dells if that is of interest.
Checkin days for cottages are Friday/Saturday for up to 7 nights while the Timbers are Saturday checkin.
There are no private fire pits next to any of the units I have.
There are a limited number of handicap accessible units. Some cottages have stairs up or down to the cottage. I also have 2 br/2bth Timbers available. My calendar stays open and I have some dates reserved and will check if anyone requests dates I don't have reserved. Memorial Day to Labor Day is a popular season for the resort so request early.
Christmas Mountain Village is a family vacation destination. The resort is located in heavily wooded, undulating countryside. The twenty-seven hole golf course winds through the middle of the resort offering great views and recreation during the summer season. Four outdoor pools and hot tubs are situated throughout the resort and the ski hill provides a perfect backdrop and winter recreation for all ages. Access to our vacation homes are via walkways ranging in distance from 20' to 100' from parking spaces. All vacation homes have private entryways with multiple steps.
The resort amenities include a downhill ski and tubing hill with 10 runs, 27 hole golf course, a lake with boats and fishing, 4 outdoor and 1 indoor pools, 5 outdoor hottubs, a sports bar, restaurant, fitness center, and miniature golfing. Everything but golfing, skiing and arts/crafts are free to use by my guests.
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have.

The owner was great and answered any questions we had immediately. The actual resort seemed to not know much and seemed annoyed whenever we asked questions. I think they need new people working at the front desk!
The cottage and duplex we stayed in were amazing! My kids enjoyed the amenities. Nice place to go during the winter.

The property is great! For being there over MLk weekend due to the size of the resort it didn’t seem as full and busy as it actually was from an occupancy level. I feel as though the booking process was easy. The VRBO rental owner William was extremely responsive and helpful.

We were very impressed with the property and what it offered. The only thing was that when I booked I thought we were getting a cabin, but ended up in a cottage. It was very clean upon arrival which was very important to us and any time we needed items, the staff was very prompt in bringing, Example is coffee. Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay! This is a nice resort and the owner was great to work with. Highly recommend this for a vacation to the Dells.

Owner was great. Cottage was renovated, but floor was dirty and there was an ant issue in the kitchen. (Resort did address when complaint was made.). Staff could not find reservation at check-in. Material received at check-in was inaccurate. Material said pool opened at 9, did not open until 10. No staff in clubhouse to buy snacks. Indoor “splash pad” was not turned on and special request had to be made. Slides did not open until noon. This was disappointing for our children, as expectations set in the materials received at check-in stated otherwise. Also, we left some items behind. I was able to describe item and exact location of item. Resort claim item was “not found” through a 3rd party service. I would not stay at Christmas Mountain Resort again.

The beds were amazingly comfortable, slept like a baby, and I couldn't be happier with all the amenities and little things that often go ignored in a traditional hotel room rental. Thank you for a wonderful vacation experience we are truly grateful for everything.

The cottage was PERFECT. Right on the golf course which with the snow was perfect for the kids to go run and play. Christmas Mountain Village in the winter is a really good (inexpensive) venue to get away with the family and do some winter sports.

When booking this reservation, the floor plan showed the layout of the Christmas Mountain Log Cabins, including a spiral staircase and loft. That is what I desired and that is not what I got. Before my arrival, I asked the owner for the specific cabin I would be staying in and he said that he cannot reserve a specific cabin for us. We would be assigned a random place to stay when we arrived. The owner did use the word "cottage" in all of his communication, but I didn't think much of it. I still expected the floor plan that was pictured at the top of each of our correspondences. When we arrived at Christmas Mountain, the front desk assigned us to a "cottage". And now I know that a "cottage" is not a "cabin". At first impression, the cottage looked like a dud. The exteriors of all the "Cottages" are dated and run-down looking. The driveway, deck and sidewalks were covered in snow when we arrived so we had to shovel it out ourselves; however, we were allowed to check-in 4 hours early, so that may be why our property had not been shoveled. Upon entry of the cottage, we were pleasantly surprised that it was completely renovated with brand new everything in every room except for the fireplace doors which were old, dated, and less than desirable to operate. The interior is perfectly clean and beautiful, but each of the rooms are very cramped. The bottom drawer of the master dresser was broken and unusable. The outlet cover was broken, leaving the outlet exposed to my 2 year old. The kitchen table and chairs were awkward. The large "log" chairs would not all tuck away under the table at the same time so it always left a random chair sticking out somewhere taking up space in an already cramped area. I have stayed in the Christmas Mountain Cabins and the Christmas Mountain Timbers and they are much more comfortable and well appointed in comparison with the Christmas Mountain Cottage. The owner was very responsive and very communicative.
We had a nice time overall. The front desk called to check-in on us, which was nice, so I was able to mention the shoveling, the open outlet and the broken dresser to them at that time....so it seems the owner does not maintain the building, but perhaps the staff at Christmas Mountain.

The cottage was lovely. It had a screened porch with a table and chairs where the early risers ate breakfast. The only negative was the WiFi which required a reset every day and didn't work at all the last couple of days. Great setting and a very quick trip into town.

We had an excellent time at Christmas Mountain. We did get one of the recently renovated cottages and it was perfect! Great size, cozy, gas fireplace, cable, DVD player, updated kitchen with all the essentials for cooking and it worked really well for our family (2 adults, 1 toddler, 1 baby). Everything was super clean and comfortable. We spent plenty of time at the pool which was perfect for our toddler since it has lots of toddler-sized fun. However, there were lots of older kids on the deep end of the pool having a blast as well. The outdoor jacuzzi was fantastic! We did head into the Dells, but given the time of year (early Spring), our main plan was to relax at the cottage and pool. They also offer activities for kids at the clubhouse during weekdays, some are free, others have a fee. We took our daughter to finger painting. Most of those activities are probably best for young school-aged kids. We did go to Knuckleheads in the Dells which also had some good indoor fun for a very active toddler.
Bottom line: it was perfect for our family! And, it would've been a great place for a get-away kid-free too.
There was a bit of confusion the first time I called the resort to verify my reservation. When I called the owner he was quick to respond and straightened things out quickly. He was very helpful and answered all of my questions about the resort prior to deciding to book with him. Everything was as we had been informed it would be. The property is beautiful and they do have activities year round.
