* Nestled on 100 acres on the northern side of the Bucketts with panoramic views of the of the Barrington and Gloucester River Valleys and overlooking the township of Gloucester.The Ridge provides the ulimate in a luxury getaway holiday.
* The house consists of two pavilions with north facing aspects providing a different panorama from every room. With sleeping for up to 12 people in 5 bedrooms (plus sofa bed) and 3 beautifully appointed bathrooms, the house is perfectly suited to accommodate groups of friends and/or families and is large enough for small conferences.
* The Ridge is designed with a passive solar layout and materials by award winning Sydney architect, Gareth Cole. The Ridge is fully powered by a stand-alone solar power system. In fact the entire house is off the grid!
* The modern fully equipped kitchen boasts a 4mtr X 1.2mtr stainless steel island bench housing a gas cooktop, dishwasher and double sink.

This was our second time staying at The Ridge and for good reason. If you are looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city living I can definitely recommend this outstanding oasis. Tranquility, birds, Wallaroos, and a winding pathway leads you to a superbly designed house which can accommodate 2 families with ease. I love this place. Green frogs, the fire pit, relaxing outdoor setting overlooking the mountain ranges and Gloucester which is only 5-10 minutes away by car. Do nothing or do plenty with scenic drives, waterholes, and the famous Barrington Tops for those who like adventure. My favourite part was waking up every morning and seeing a different weather pattern. Some days were really foggy and other days were so clear. Being up so high felt like heaven. I’m sure we’ll see you again.

We had a fantastic stay at The Ridge. From the very beginning, communication with Dan was exceptional. Check-in was easy and the house was well equipped and far exceeded our expectations.
We especially liked that we could bring our dogs along, the amazing shower in the main bedroom, multiple outdoor areas to relax, evenings by the fire pit, and incredible views across the surrounding areas. We all agreed that we didn’t want to leave and should have booked an extra night!
We highly recommend staying at The Ridge, and will likely be making another reservations soon as other family and friends want to join us for the next stay. Thanks again for having us!

Fantastic property located in a very peaceful and beautiful setting close to town. Property would be well suited to family groups. We brought our dog and she loved it. Fence is barbed wire so had to keep an eye on her but that was fine. Dan was very helpful and responded promptly to questions. Beds were comfy and shower amazing. Would definitely stay again

Glorious Gloucester
The Ridge is a fabulous home! Stunning views from perfect fire pit in the evenings. Easy access to town and great spot to explore walks/mountain bike tracks. Home is well fit out with lovely linen/towels and kitchen with everything you need. Great location for a real escape.

Terrific holiday
We were very pleased with how clean the house was and the landscape views. Along the way there were many exciting opportunities to see the cows and kangaroos around the house. We really appreciated how the price of accommodation remained consistent with previous years despite many other accommodation prices inflating due to the Covid-19 virus. Even though the Adventure Centre was closing, we were still able to enjoy nearby attractions such as the Rainforest bushwalk 15 minutes away. The Ridge is definitely a great place to relax and bond with family, with the campfire and lounge area being perfect with our pet dog. Not only was the accommodation luxurious but its location was ideal. At only a 3-minute drive away, we were able to go to the local town which had many restaurants, cafes, and a Woolworths which made grocery shopping extremely convenient. Our check-in and check-out experience was seamless, with the owner Dan quickly replying to any issues we had. Overall, this vacation home was splendid. We highly recommend The Ridge and we’re hoping we can come again the following year for the third time!

A beautiful escape
From the picturesque surrounds of the countryside, to the luxurious feel of the gorgeous home, we had a wonderful time staying at The Ridge! Highlights were - the main shower with pebble floor and great views; the number of thoughtful inclusions at the property; the fire pit (we used twice, and toasted marshmallows one night)!; the close proximity to town (can recommend the Roundabout Inn for steaks); misty morning view; cows close by and even saw a kangaroo!
Would highly recommend The Ridge for a relaxing getaway.

Brilliant house fabulous location
Fabulous house well fitted out. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need.
Dan is an excellent communicator and extremely helpful.
Fire pit was great fun but you do need to order your wood.

Magical, unique, cathartic
The moment we were approaching the house we could sense something special. The house is perfectly positioned with views as far as the eye can see. Beautiful mountains, hills, valleys and cattle await.
We woke one morning to a Kangaroo outside our bedroom window with a joey in its pouch before hopping away.
The fire pit was a great attraction every evening as we surrounded it mesmerised as the logs burnt away.
This house has everything you really need.
It also appeared to have its own weather pattern as it is so high above the local townships.
We loved that the view with cloud formations, or fog/mist would continuously change never allowing the view to be the same. We loved that the property was off the grid with its own solar panelled electricity and water from the rainwater tanks.
Some added surprises were the Australian King Parrots in abundance and the beautiful Green Tree Frogs which the kids adored.
If you like star gazing go outside with no lights and look up. I doubt you will see more stars than this location particularly if you come from the city.
Dan thank you so much for the experiences we encountered at The Ridge. It is evident that a lot of thought went into the design of the house. Well done.
The biggest disappointment I suspect which most people would have is leaving. I would have liked to stay longer.
A second visit is on the agenda.

Great place to stay with a large group of family and friends. Cooking facilities great. Outdoor seating is fantastic with a glass of wine watching the sunset over the hills. Short walk to town. Manager very helpful.

Peaceful and beautiful
We loved everything about this beautiful home and our fabulous holiday at The Ridge. The house located at the top of a hill has a tasteful decor. A fantastic house in a fantastic spot. Very clean and a lot of privacy. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials. When you are driving from the bottom up the hill, there are always a few wallabies jumping around. It is also very accessible to the town or bush walking and adventure centre. A huge thanks to the owner Dan for always promptly replying and providing wonderful service. We hope to come back to The Ridges one day!

The Ridge is well located, featuring contemporary design and off-the -grid services.
This property let us enjoy expansive scenic views over the Gloucester Valley with a feeling of being remote but in reality only a short distance from town. While at the house we spent time with friends in the 'great room' - modern kitchen, dining and lounge opening on to the covered deck with BBQ and outdoor lounge. Our winter-time visit ensured use of the fire pit and lengthy catch-up conversations each evening. Gloucester and Barrington Tops have a wealth of things see and explore and we will certainly be back for more. Ideal for groups and family get togethers.

Totally awesome!
This property does not disappoint! It's a prime example of what can be achieved with a totally eco-friendly house that is off-the-grid. The view is magnificent and we did not lack for anything...except maybe some more bug spray! But we are in the countryside! No complaints! And our totally pampered dog settled in without any problems. In fact she was fascinated (and somewhat intimidated) by the cows and kangaroos! The Ridge is totally awesome and we cannot be more enthusiastic in our recommendation. Congratulations Dan on having the vision to create such a luxurious and eco-friendly house! We'll definitely be coming back!

Stunning ......
It's easy to see why The Ridge was awarded Best People's Choice in NSW for 2014. Sitting high on a ridge, overlooking Gloucester, you have spectacular views from all the rooms. The house is beautifully appointed and has underfloor heating for the cooler months. There is quite a lot to see and do around Gloucester and The Ridge is very lucky to have The Buccan Buccan's in its own backyard. Definitely worth the walk to the top. It's breathtaking. We ran out of time to do all things we hoped to, so will definitely be back. It is a very special place.

Tree Change
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Ridge, Gloucester. It was an amazing view of the world and the peace and serenity of it was what we were looking for. Loved waking up to the sounds of nature, had the pleasure of a kookaburra joining me for my shower and between the cows and wallabies you really couldn't be any closer to nature. Have already recommended The Ridge to some friends who will be travelling here soon.

EXCEPTIONAL
This has got to be without a doubt one of the best places i have ever had the pleasure in staying, the perfect family getaway, just wish i had stayed longed but unfortunately we drove to the Top of Gloucester Tops, had a lovely picnic and then the car wouldnt start ( dead battery.. of all places!!) and had to be rescued by the police which pretty much ended our lovely stay ( stuck up the mountain is always fun with two kids!!) !!! Oh well... these the breaks... but we will be back .... The firepit was amazing and the kids loved the openness of the property and so did puppy!!! thanks guys...

So close to perfect!
The house, location, view and inclusions were amazing! Our expectations were definitely met....except....the only downfall was the electricity supply. We understand the house is set up to be environmental, using the sun as much as possible and using the generator when weather does not provide. But even with the generator kicking in we had some issues when using the oven, where we had to turn off most lights and electrical items for it to actually work.

Beautiful property!
This was the second stay at this absolutely amazing property and it won't be our last. What a great place to spend with the family, relaxing inside or enjoying a drink by the outdoor fire. Our little boy absolutely loved running around outside and inside with plenty of space to explore. The only problem was that we wanted to stay longer!

The Ridge at Gloucester exceeded all expectations. We thought the property looked like a great place to stay on the website/stayz. When we got there - we found this incredible super modern spacious home perched high on ridge with a magical outlook. The property is immaculate - well stocked with everything you need - beautiful linen/towels/toletries - sparkling clean and perfect for large groups and families. This property has a fantastic fire pit with great seating which lent itself to long relaxing nights with the whole group in front of the fire.
