Enjoy your own 1 bedroom / 2 full bathroom, 1100 SF residence with DIRECT OCEAN VIEW in a gated resort community. This 1 bedroom has one king size bed with en-suite bathroom, a second full bathroom and a spectacular view overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
This prime unit has a fully equipped kitchen with cook top, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and all necessities to prepare your own meal. The bedroom has down feather duvet and pillows and Egyptian cotton sheets. The master bedroom which overlooks the ocean, has a separate soaker bathtub, a separate shower and a separated toilet area.
The sofa can be converted to a single sleeper bed. A full second bathroom is available for guests. The unit has a washer / dryer and HDTV flat screen TV in the Living Area. The condo and the common areas of the property have wireless internet access throughout.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. A few things could have been better. The unit appears to not have been occupied in awhile. It had a smell pretty much the entire time. Like mildew. But after being there a few days we realized it was likely the garbage disposal. I contacted the property manager and they came out to repair the disposal the same day. The next day the sink in the kitchen backed up and the sink in the primary bath didn’t flow well either. The front door was beat up compared to other units. The tub was missing the back stop. It simply needs some updating. and maintenance. Good parts were the air conditioning was perfect and it was HOT!!! The scenery was gorgeous and the view was supreme.

The condo is such a good size for a couple or a family with small children. Having 2 full bathrooms was a game changer for a vacation. The condo was fully stocked with everything we could need and we would definitely return here anytime. The customer support has been amazing. They answered every question we had and provided us with information on any concerns that we had to try to make sure our vacation was everything that we needed it to be.

This Property is exactly as it looks in the pictures on VRBO. Everything you need for a week or two in Jamaica. This is part of the Jewel Grand Resort - so you can have the best of both worlds when it comes to food and drink. You have the option to buy the all-inclusive package or go to the grocery store and cook in the apartment...or even better - cook some meals and then use the resort restaurants and just pay as you go. The prices are very reasonable. Judith and Ray were extremely attentive hosts. Any issues were quickly resolved. We look forward to our next trip to this place.

The property was a lovely setting, the most beautiful sunsets and view of the ocean. I loved starting and ending my day with the ocean views. The property was clean, quiet, and had all the necessary items to feel comfortable for a weeks vacation. The owners were kind, attentive, and available to assist with any needs such as grocery shopping & transportation- most helpful service. We loved it so much we booked again! Thank you!!

We went to celebrate our 30th anniversary to enjoy time with each other. We were greeted very warmly which continued throughout our stay. Our servers made us feel special each time we went dining. The was a good selection of places to eat.
The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. We enjoyed the non-motorized water activities, the pools, watching volleyball and the spa. Mostly enjoyed sitting out on the oceanfront balcony seeing the sun rise and set and listening to the ocean waves.

Me and my husband booked this apartment for a week. We had such a great time. This apartment is in 4 star Jewels Grand resort and it has amazing restaurants with private beach. It looks exactly like in pictures. I would strongly recommend this place. I would love going back there next week.

This unit was just as it is presented. Clean, well stocked with a beautiful view. Check in was smooth. I slept so comfortably in the bed. The shower had amazing pressure and temp. The television worked perfectly. I wish the bedroom had one. This particular building has less activity than than the others but its a short walk to entertainment and food. Its a stretch for those needing handicapped accessibility as you must take stairs to quickly access beach and restaurants. You can leave through front but its more walking distance that way with no vibe. If I come to Montego Bay again, I would definitely book this unit. I would take advantage of having groceries and drinks prestocked before my arrival. Grocery shopping took time away from the fun. I enjoyed the spa hot tub and salt room the most. There was nightly entertainment and there is some non-motorizedsports. I only saw people take advantage of one of the water activities the entire trip. Its not a party resort from what I experienced. Its relaxing and laid back. Margaritaville is close for the club scene. I found some of the popular activities such as Ricks Cafe, Dunns River Falls and Appleton Estates were a far distance away. Staff were very pleasant, helpful and professional.

Clean room and property, friendly staff and convenient location. Extra bed was not set up, cable set up needed to be corrected and door in bedroom would not open. Annoyed I had to reach out to get them fix but good thing was they were resolved quickly.

Comments about Jewel Grande condo
Cons:
No tv in the bedroom.
Bedroom Balcony door and one of the windows didn’t open
They do offer dishes but the cabinets appear unkempt so it’s a bit concerning to use the Items.
Ceiling fan needs balancing. There’s a new one in the closet that just needs to be installed.
Needs painting to improve the cleanliness and reduce odors. The place smells muggy and “like an old person’s home”.
No cleaning supplies were offered. This Place needs dish washing liquid, laundry detergent, etc. If I had been given cleaning supplies I would have cleaned this place myself. (It needed it badly) all the door surfaces and bathroom floors were visibly dirty.
Bathroom sink also has a slow drain. You have to run the water slowly in order to avoid clogging the sink. There’s also significant amount of calcium buildup on the bathroom sink countertop.
Shower needs to be steam cleaned and the mildew in the bathroom is excessive. Shower head needs some good cleaning to remove the calcium build-up as well.
Not sure how this place would ever be clean enough to be considered a COVID approved facility.
Needs up grading. The musky odors are likely from the furniture. We ended up using one set of towels to have a place to sit on the couch to watch tv. FYI. Replacement towels are $35/set
The Jewel Grande: cons
The food at the Jewel Grande was not very good either. The best meal was the breakfast buffet offered at the Orchids restaurant. The remaining meals were a bit tasteless and at times not worth eating. We aren’t big on alcohol so we noticed the food inconsistencies.
Pros:
Staff that assisted with this individual property were great. Provided assistance with transportation to and from the hotel. Answered questions immediately as well.
The Jewel Grande staff:
The guys with the catamaran rental were awesome. They made the experience so enjoyable.
I had a decent time with the ladies at the Grande Spa. Of course it was resort prices for a couples massage and mani/pedi but overall a good time.
The Jewel Grande staff in general were helpful and extremely friendly.

First time traveling to Jamacia and it was AMAZING! The room was exactly how it is pictured, the views are breathtaking, everyone is SUPER friendly, and we could not have asked for a better trip! The driver who picked us up from the airport was so friendly and helpful. If you want to go anywhere call him, he will take you. The resort is amazing, and the food and drinks are amazing. We did not do the all-inclusive, but even without it, we did not spend much money on food. If you are not a big drinker the all-inclusive personally is not necessary. The owners a very responsive, answered all my questions and were very helpful with setting up the ride to and from the airport. I will be back :)

The driver Cedrick that picked us up at airport was Excellent. We only used him to take us around . Cedrick was always prompt, kind and courteous. We could absolutely count on him to be where we asked him to be when we were ready to leave and go somewhere else . He went above and beyond taking care of us . Had a great time in Jamaica

Romantic Couples Getaway
Our husband and I could not have picked a better place for our romantic getaway in Montero Bay. The “front and center” views of the ocean and the breezes translated to immediate relaxation for us!!
We visit Jamaica every 1-2 years and usually stay in an all-inclusive. This unit provided a better option for us. We liked having the option of preparing our own meals or eating at the resort’s restaurants. All meals at the restaurants were top notch. For our own prepared meals, we opted to have our driver stop at Progressive supermarket. I suspected that the selection would be limited due to pandemic supply shortages, but was surprised that the supermarket was so well-stocked. It had a good selection of wines, beers, rums and liquors.
We were able to enjoy all of the entertainment from the comfort of our own balcony. While we were there, there were steel drum players and various themed musical evenings. All finish at or before 9pm, which we appreciated so that we could get some much needed rest after all-day sun and activities.
The unit had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. Kitchen was well-stocked. It has a toaster, a kettle, and a coffee maker. Microwave oven, plenty of cookware, table settings, and utensils. The unit has a washer and dryer, but we did not use it because our stay was only 4 nights. Purchase detergent at Progressive if you plan use them. The bed is comfortable and we had ample linens for the two of us. The unit has an iron and hairdryers.
The beach was lovely. There are paddle boards, kayaks, and small catamarans that we did not use but saw many families enjoy. Rose Hall Great House is very close by. We highly recommend the tour ($25USD) for historical context and breathtaking garden and ocean views.
The spa is a must for anyone wanting to relax. It is secluded, peaceful, and has a private mineral pool in a lush garden. The spa offers a variety of treatment options.
One of the best things we found out as we arrived, was that the resort has its own COVID antigen testing clinic for the required test needed to return to the US. The test was quick and we received our results within a few hours the same day via email. Wifi is available and strong everywhere even at the beach. Cost of the test is $60USD pp.
To summarize, we would highly recommend this unit for couples looking to relax and feel pampered. Staff is welcoming and friendly. The owner of the unit, Judith, is very responsive. :)

Wonderful stay!
The condo was even nicer in person with a gorgeous ocean view. This place is a steal especially if you compare the pricing to the resorts. It also allowed us to cook our own means as I have ulcerative colitis and have a restricted diet.
Judith was super responsive and made the entire experience easy and less stressful. She was very flexible with fates when I had a flight cancelation due to weather.

Looking for real R & R (with no distractions)
Decided to break the beaten path of all inclusive and chose to rent this condo on the beach. As others have written it's extremely quiet hardly anyone on the beach . Although there is a pool side bar we chose to bring down our drinks in a cooler as we were prepared in advance as we knew what to expect. As owners of a recreational property back home you make your list and come prepared as this is not a hotel and you can't expect all the services and amenities . The beach is a nice sandy beach there is a problem with weeds and they did miss one day therefore it gets quite full in certain areas. You have to be mindful in the water and we did come across some rocks. The concierge service "Dereck" was outstanding tending to our concerns on day of arrival as the network was down so no room keys, no internet service and later came to our room to figure out what was wrong with the cable t.v.. He addressed each and every concern we had promptly and same day. The 1 bedroom condo is spacious and comfortable with a great view of the ocean from the balcony. We enjoyed breakfast and a couple meals from there. Having dinner on the balcony at night was romantic and peaceful. The pillows were a bit uncomfortable so if you can bring yours I would suggest it. We preferred shutting the air conditioner off to sit on the balcony as it's very loud when running. There were a couple of days of super breezes anyways and preferred that sound of the waves crashing the beach. At night we would turn it back on as you will need it to sleep . In regards to groceries our transportation that was arranged for $30.00 made two stops for us the first one for authentic beef patties which was near Scotchies , and the second was Progressive Food supermarket. Be prepared as you may not find all your favourites here and its very expensive . We did dine out a couple of nights and most restaurants do provide complimentary shuttle service to and from. You will find a lot of construction work refurbishing the building as the new owners have a third up which i heard was going to be a hotel and everything has to be ready by June/July. They don't interfere with your stay and we did not find it loud at all. It's a nice property and worth repeating for a different vacation time .

Most relaxing vacation ever
We had a great stay at the Palmyra Residence. Love the cove. We did snorkle a few times and it was very enjoyable. The accommodations were outstanding. A couple hickups when we first arrived but the concierge staff was always friendly and helpful and able to help with all our little problems. We would definitely come back.

A little piece of paradise!
Our stay was fantastic!,the property was so beautiful!.We stayed at room 806 and the views of the ocean where breathtaking! My wife and I wanted somewhere away from the hussle bussel of the city and The Palymra was just what we wanted.It was very quiet and we felt like we where the only people there.The apartment has everything you need and some days we would just stay there all day and enjoy the quiet and beauty of the setting! The pool was very clean and most of the time I had the whole pool to myself,The beach was very nice soft sand and well kept by the staff and everyone there was so friendly and always greeted us with a smile.They tell me they have a new owner and will finish construction of the resort in hopefully 1 year.We had no problens and really enjoyed our stay at the Palmrya Resort and we would like to return someday in the near furture when the construction is complete.Larry & Lou Liedtke.

Beautiful property - Bad Experience
First of all, the property grounds were beautiful. Not misrepresented in pictures, beautiful view, quiet etc. Great balcony. No complaints there. Also, Judith was excellent. Very helpful beforehand setting up arrangements, answering questions. Great service from her. The driver we used from the property set up by Judith was also excellent. However, I was extremely disappointed with the ant / bug problem. I’m not sure what kind of bugs they are but they look like ants but are a lighter color. If I could post pictures here, I would. They are tiny and there were lots of them in the kitchen and living room area. On day one, we arrived with lots of groceries ready to cook. I left the pastries (sealed), chips (also sealed) etc. as well as drinks (closed) on the counter. A few minutes later, we noticed these bugs all over our stuff. On absolutely everything that we purchased. I thought it was an isolated incident but quickly threw away the items they were able to crawl into (bread, pastries etc.) and then put the rest in the fridge. Later when I tried to drink a coke, I put the glass with the coke on the kitchen counter. The bugs were attracted to the coke and were all over the table. I can go on and on. We wiped down the table with Vinegar which seemed to help but we couldn’t eat on the table the entire time we were there. Being that this is a condo and it is expected for you to cook and eat, it was highly disappointing and frustrating. They were even in the refrigerator but I think the cold killed them once they got in. Nothing like finding a least a dozen dead bugs in the fridge. It really made the experience unpleasant. I understand that sometimes these things cannot be controlled. What is more disappointing is the owner's unwillingness to apologize (I am not speaking about Judith but the actual condo owner). He also promised to refund a very small portion of the payment, but after several times reaching out, he has not done so. At this point, I just want this to not happen to another individual. If an owner is not willing to apologize or rectify the situation, you are better off renting from a different condo owner at this location.

Breathtaking views, clean and quiet condo.
I booked this condo over 4 months ago when it became available to rent and I was so excited to finally stay here. My contact Judith was unbelievably helpful both before and during my stay! She helped me arrange airport transportation to The Palmyra with a grocery stop before hand to stock up. Upon arrival I also had a birthday present on the table for me; very thoughtful. The condo itself has an oceanfront view to die for. My camera got a workout for sure!! Sunrise and sunset glisten beautifully off the water. You can see the cruise ships in the distance passing by on the way to port. Unit has a comfy couch with pull out bed. Two full bathrooms with showers in each, and large bedroom with access to the balcony and three giant windows that let the breeze and ocean sounds in. Living room and kitchen are well equipped with everything you need to cook your meals and relax after your long day out on the beach. Unit does have AC but it's not needed, open the sliders and windows and you'll be comfortable. Property has a huge pool and lovely gazebo that puts you out in the water. Plenty of beach loungers and towels provided daily. We literally saw three other guests the entire time we were there; had the whole place to ourselves. Nice quite location for relaxing. We used Richard Woodley as our tour guide and driver all week and he was fantastic; ask for him! The Palmyra is a few minutes from the Hip Strip if you wanna party and immerse yourself in the local culture. Driving in Jamaica is scary lol. Not worth it to rent a car, tours will pick you up at the hotel and the concerige can call a cab for you when you need to go out. I do not have anything negative to report about this whole experience. You will not regret staying in this unit. Thank you for a gorgeous, peaceful vacation! :D

Beautiful beach, private, great service
We had a wonderful stay at this condo. It was clean, well equipped, with a great view from the balcony. We could hear the ocean with the sliding doors wide open. The concerge was very helpful. The beach was excellent - warm, clean, soft sand with adequate loungers. The pool was well appointed as well. The location is quiet, but just a 15 minute taxi ride from Montego Bay. We loved the condo. It was just what we were looking for. We would definitely recommend this rental.
