THE APARTMENT AND THE RESIDENCE: AN IDEAL LOCATION IN THE HEART OF PEREYBERE, A CHARMING AND AUTHENTIC WELL-SERVICED VILLAGE.
Ideally located within 2 to 5 minutes' walk to fabulous beaches, restaurants, shops, excursion agencies and all amenities, this spacious duplex 3 bedroom apartment is fully air-conditioned (all bedrooms & living/dining room) and well furnished. It has 2 bathrooms one of which is ensuite to the master bedroom.
There is a 2mx2m bed in the master bedroom and a 2 wide single beds in each of the two other bedrooms. Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided, and your beds will be made prior to your arrival.
The apartment benefits from unlimited fibre optic wifi as well as all mod cons, including a digital safe, a flat screen television, an alarm system, a DVD/CD player and a washing machine.
The grounds of this private residence boast tropical gardens and a large swimming pool.
On request, we will arrange for free parking at the residence. A concierge resides in a lodge at the entrance to the residence.
SERVICES INCLUDED: DAILY CLEANING DURING THE WEEK
Included in the price, our housekeeper, Aarti, provides a daily cleaning service (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays). She will welcome you on arrival, show you around, give you the keys and ensure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
Books, beach toys, a travel cot and a highchair are available on request.
OPTIONAL SERVICES: TAXI/MINIBUS AIRPORT TRANSFERS
On request, we will organise your airport taxi transfer with our reliable driver, Nanda. If he is not available he will ensure a dependable airport transfer service through his network of reliable drivers. The airport transfer price (each way) is 2,200 Mauritian Rupees, payable to the driver (up to 4 passengers). For more than 4 passengers, minibus airport transfers can be organised if required (approximately 3,000 Roupies each way).
Should you wish to do so, you can also use the taxi or minivan services for half or full day excursions on the island.
Should you prefer to rent your own car, "ARA Tours", a car rental agency, is located less than 5 minutes walk from the apartment.
PEREYBERE: AN AUTHENTIC MAURITIAN VILLAGE WITH GREAT LOCAL AMENITIES:
Our guests are charmed by Pereybere's authentic village atmosphere while benefitting from an array of local amenities within a few minutes' walk from the apartment.
All amenities are 1-5 minutes' walk from the apartment: excellent reasonably priced restaurants serving delicious local and international cuisine, bars, a very well stocked supermarket with a bakery section for breakfast ("Winners" supermarket is only 2 minutes walk from the apartment), several excursion/scuba diving & car/bike hire centres, a taxi stand, bus stops and ATM machines. There is a doctor and beautician/hairdresser nearby. Opposite the apartment is also a chemist.
A GREAT VARIETY OF GORGEOUS BEACHES IN PEREYBERE: THE PUBLIC BEACH WITH MANY AMENITIES AND THE MORE SECLUDED WILDER BEACHES AT "POINTE D'AZUR":
Some of the best beaches on the island are right in Pereybere, all within a few minutes' walk from the apartment, with no roads to cross. These beaches are fabulous with fine white sand and turquoise waters. There is the choice between the more lively Pereybere public beach and more secluded, tranquil beaches and coves of Pointe d'Azur.
At Pereybere public beach, the sea is like a giant swimming pool - fine sand under your feet (no prickly corals or sea urchins) and a nearly waveless turquoise lagoon with no current that makes for very safe swimming. This beach also offers an array of water sports. "Filaos" trees span the entire rear of the beach offering shade throughout the day for those who prefer it. There is also plenty of room on the beach for sun lovers to enjoy. There is a restaurant on the beach with sea views as well as stalls offering very inexpensive delicious local snacks and specialities. One end of the beach offers a variety of water sports, including pedaloes, kayaks, water skiing, towable doughnuts and glass bottom boat tours.
In Pereybere, there is also a series of less frequented, wilder coves and beaches at Pointe d'Azur", again a few minutes' walk in the other direction from the apartment, which have no amenities but are tranquil and beautiful with stupendous views of "Coin de Mire" island. These waters are a delight to snorkle in. You can walk for miles along fabulous stretches of beaches towards Bain Boeuf and then onto Cap Malheureux.
SEA EXCURSIONS AND ACTIVITIES ON OFFER NEARBY:
You will find a great variety of reasonably priced activities to choose from and most of them can be booked through agencies located only a few minutes' walk from the apartment (we particularly recommend Malyra Tours):
- Yacht/trimaran/catamaran/boat day cruises to offshore deserted islands, all with immaculate beaches (with barbecue, stops for swimming and snorkelling); most of the boats depart from Grand-Baie.
- Excursion to the beautiful island of Ile aux Cerfs, with barbecue, swimming and snorkelling or a dolphins visit by catamaran with the option of swimming with dolphins;
- Half day/full day deep sea fishing (marlin, tuna and other species). Line fishing is also possible.
- A trip on the Nessee semi-submersible boat in Grand-Baie, 5 minutes drive from the apartment, is a great way to discover the beautiful marine life without getting wet. At some point during the outing, the semi submarine stops along the reef giving you the opportunity to snorkel along the beautiful coral reef.
- The Captain Nemo’s undersea walk, takes place in the lagoon near Grand-Baie and is a great activity for non-divers and children over 7. A helmet with a transparent visor is placed on your head allowing you to walk 3 to 4 meters deep on the ocean floor to enjoy, the corals and wide variety of fish.
- You can discover the undersea world at a depth of 35 meters aboard the "Blue Safari Submarine" in Trou aux Biches, about 20 minutes drive from the apartment: it's great for anyone over the age of 3. If you prefer, you can also ride an underwater scooter, 3 metres under the sea!
- Scuba diving with the Ocean Spirit Centre located in Pereybere
- You can also kite surf with the Mauritius Kitesurf School, KiteZone Ltd, in Anse-La-Raie, about 10 minutes drive/taxi ride from the apartment.
- For a thrilling sensation, you can enjoy breathtaking views whilst parasailing over Grand-Baie's beautiful lagoon
LAND BASED EXCURSIONS AND ACTIVITIES NEARBY:
- The resort town of Grand-Baie with its charming shopping arcades, restaurants on the water's edge, bars and a market with local souvenirs is 5 minutes away by taxi or bus.
- Quad biking in Anse-La-Raie: we highly recommend this fun and thrilling activity only about 10 minutes drive/taxi ride from the apartment. Enjoy a 2 hour safari on a quad bike across the beautiful rivers and dense forests of Anse La Raie, whilst learning about the history of Mauritius and its flora.
- At "Horse Riding Delights" in Mont Choisy, you will be able to horse ride across the grounds of a sugar estate. The rides last about one and a half hours and riders have the opportunity to learn about the local history and see animals such as deer and farm animals. About 15 minutes away from the apartment
- The Botanical Garden of Pamplemousses is world-renowned. The gardens are spectacular with an enormous variety of tropical plant species. There are also giant indigenous tortoises and a small zoo. It is about 20 minutes' drive away
- "L'Aventure du Sucre", an old sugar mill converted into a stimulating museum retracing the history of Mauritius is also 15 to 20 minutes drive away.
- Visit the restored, grand colonial mansion of "Chateau de Labourdonnais", its lush gardens, old orchards and distillery where you will learn about the old production techniques of agricultural rum. It is about 20 minutes away.
- For another journey into the past, we suggest you visit "La Demeure St. Antoine" in Goodlands. It is an old mansion filled with the elegance of a bygone colonial era. It's also a perfect place to have aperitif in the gardens followed by a lovely meal on the veranda facing the beautiful gardens. Only about 20 minutes drive away.
- The "Maheswarnath Mandir" Hindu temple at Triolet is the largest and oldest hindu shrine in Mauritus dating back to the 19th Century - about 20 minutes drive from the apartment
- The island's capital, Port-Louis and its exotic markets, modern shopping complex and museums, is about 40 minutes bus/taxi drive.
- Nearby luxury hotels with access to their evening entertainment and "sega" dance shows.

Super convenient and very well appointed apartment for a holiday in the north of the island.
Great support and information provided by the hosts to ensure we enjoyed our stay and could take advantage of all the attractions and services.

Sandra and Mark are wonderful hosts and provide excellent tips for eating, shopping, and playing in Pereybere and beyond. For my dive trip to Mauritius, the apartment was perfect. Ocean Spirit Dive Centre (highly recommend it) was a short walk as was the beautiful beaches to watch the sunset. Winners, the grocery store, was more than adequate. Nanda, the taxi driver, provided my airport transfers and Aaarti, the housekeeper, was communicative and lovely. I will definitely stay here again if I make it back to Mauritius for another dive trip! Thanks for a lovely stay in Pereybere!

We are a family of 4 and stayed here for 6 nights. The apartment was really spacious. Every child had their own bedroom.
Marceline is the lady who lives nearby and does the check in and out. She is a very warm and kind person, who can also cook for you on request. Every day from Monday-Friday she cleans the apartment and take care that you have everything you need.
The beaches are really beautiful in this part of Mauritius. It’s a busy area with many tourists. Tip for breakfast or lunch is Bloom, a 10 minutes walk from the apartment. You can do a lot of water sports, rent a catamaran and sight-seeing in the neighbourhood. We had a rental car and then it’s a perfect location to explore the north, north-west, north east.
We would love to come back one day. Thank you for a nice time in a beautiful country.

We had a great holiday starting with Nanda picking us up at the airport and giving us an informative drive to the apartment.
Marceline who showed us around when we got to the apartment explained where everything was and how it worked.
The apartment is huge has everything you might want in it including a washing machine. We liked the fact it also had a safe and an alarm. Every room also has aircon.
We ate at several of the local restaurants in Pereybere and had a couple of meals in Grand Baie as well. Our favorite restaurant was the Wang Thai 2 minutes walk away the food there is amazing with good service all at a reasonable price and the Vanilla Rum afterwards is to die for. Marceline also cooked us a fish curry one night and that was lovely with huge portions.
There are 2 beaches only a short walk form the apartment and a good-sized supermarket just down the road.
Hired a car as well for 2 days and seen a bit of the island as well.

We had a wonderful holiday, the Villas were perfect and in a fantastic location for Winners Supermarket and the beach with a chemist directly opposite.
The Villas were clean,washing machine was a god send, beds huge and comfy, aircon in every bedroom. The master bedroom was HUGE with ensuite and table and chairs, plenty of storage with wardrobes and draws in every room.
Great for a young family with cot and high chair and safety gates at top and bottom of stairs.
Security is 5 star with safe, back to base alarm and deadlocks.
Pereybere Beach is amazing and only a 3 min walk away.
The bus stop is just across the rd and its only a 5 min ride into Grand Bay and only 32rp for adults and 16rp kids. We also caught the bus into Port Louis. The taxi into Grand Bay was only 150rp.
We ate at Pereybere Beach Cafe a few times, and ordered in from Wang Thai once would recommend both , we out in a lot as we were just too tired after our days of exploring and a few times ventured into Grand Bay for dinner.
Marceline was great, and the 2 dishes she made for us were delicious,it was great to come back from a day out to clean floors, beds made and dishes done.
Nanda was waiting at the airport with a big grin on our arrival and boy were we glad to see him! His cars are immaculate and he takes great pride in them.
Herve's day trip was also a great experience, I highly recommend.
We enjoyed a Catamaran trip to Gabriel Island and a speed boat trip to Benitiers Island visiting Crystal Rock and seeing dolphins. We also spent a day discovering the south visiting Chamarel Coloured Earth and Waterfall, Black River Gorge and Casela Nature Park. Visiting the Church at Cap Malheureux is a must it is a beautiful view and only a 10 min bus ride away.
Our 3 weeks went way too fast. We would not hesitate to stay at your Villa's again.
Thank you for being so understanding with all our flight changes, but in the end we didn't have any problems with any of our flight, the transfers or the Villas.
I would not hesitate recommending these Villas to any one and wish I was still there.

Appartement d'un trés bon standing, trés bien décoré, et équipé, 3 chambres dont une suite avec tout le confort nécessaire. Nous avons été reçu par MARCELINE , trés souriante et compétente et à l'écoute. Emplacement de choix à PEREYBERE proche de GRAND BAIE . This was my second visit to the apartment.It is ideally located.The three bedrooms are spascious.The two bathrooms/showers are big and comfortable.The lounge and diningroom comfortable,big and user friendly.The television and cable TV/decoder new and functioning.The kitchen,compact but has ALL the utencils.The airconditioners ALL working.The outside swimming pool is pristinely clean and located in an enclosed and private garden.The facilities are excellent.
The apartment was clean and well kept.The lady Mercaline,is friendly,efficient and reliable.She awaited us on our arrival,made us comfortable,explaining all the functions.She came daily,leaving the apartment clean,tidied and safe...excellent.
I would recommend this apartment anytime.
The apartment is situated ideally...5 min from the beach.There are several restaurants in the area( excellent food ).It is located in a side road off the main road,for use of the bus or if renting a vehicle ( enclosed and safe car park facilities ).

We had a wonderful stay in Pereybere at your apartment.
We were greeted at the airport (after a disastrous start due to the snow in England) to wonderful weather, a gentle breeze and a big smile from the taxi driver waiting to take our cases off us as soon as we stepped out of the airport. He gave us lot's of information on our trip across Mauritius to Perebere, which was very interesting and informative.
The apartment was lovely and inviting after our long journey with Sheila showing us all our facilities on arrival.
By far the best day (although all were wonderful) was with Herve in his traditional fishing boat, crossing the sea to 'Flat Island' and snorkelling on the reef. His homemade rum punch was delicious!! We also had an added bonus of seeing a dolphin on our return.
All-in-all, a wonderful holiday in a lovely, well equipped apartment and Sandra's parents were very helpful and accommodating; sorting trips with Nanada across the island, giving ideas on where to eat and best parts of the beaches to visit.

This was a very well-equipped apartment with a very comfy bed and cheerful decor. Master bedroom was roomy and bright. Location was great with very good restaurants just out the door. Pool was always very clean. Would definitely recommend to others.

The description of the apartment was accurate.We were welcomed at the airport and at the apartment.Sandra provided excellent customer service,connecting us with a driver (who was efficient,amicable and caring ),a caretaker/cook (who prepares deliscious meals and kept the apartment spotless).Unfortunately we didnt get to meet Herva-a local with good knowledge of the water fascilities.Overall,we had a memorable experience.We would gladly recommend it to others.

Just a line to say how much we enjoyed staying at your apartment in Pereybere. What a great location for a holiday! The apartment was just right for the five of us though we didn't use the cooking faciliities as I had promised Maryse that she would not have to cook during the holiday and my cooking abilities are a bit limited.
We enjoyed great service from Nanda and Sheila was always helpful.
We also had the pleasure of meeting your parents. Be grateful if you would pass on our regards and also the attached picture we took at the soiree they hosted for us.
Once again, many thanks for letting us use your apartment, hope you are enjoying your time in it now.

Memories of Mauritius
A family of seven travelled to Mauritius last october full of expectations. We were not diasapointed. The purpose of our trip was to enjoy the sun for three weeks and be a family. The flat was nice, well kept and was cleaned by the lovely Sheila every day.Location was nice because of the short walk to the beach. Pereybere was just perfect. The best attraction in this area are the beaches, By far the best beach in the area if you enjoy beaches that arent't to crowded. We chose to eat at the local restaurants, which offer whatever cuisine you wish for. For lunch we often chose the food stalls - both cheap and delicious. Nanda is unique and we highly recommend him. He was always on time, full of useful information, and recommended good attractions. Another memorable trip was our outing with Herve. Thanks to Sandras parents who helped us with the flat. Our children still talk about Mauritius and we want to come back one time.

What can we say but what a fantastic place to stay, everything was as described(except the cyclone). We highly recommend to everyone wanting to stay at this area, which was great, nice location, beautiful beaches. What we really want to emphisise is the way we were treated, not like guest, but like family, this we can't say enough about. PEREYBERE
After travelling for about 15 hrs we were met at the airport by our driver who took us to our apartment in air conditioned comfort. The drive was steady and assurring, something you dont always get from Mauritian drivers. When we arrived at bthe apartment we were met by our houskeeper for the week , Sheila who showed us around the apartment. It was Sheila who kept the apartment clean and tidy throughout our stay comming in every day except Sunday.
There was plenty to do if required with either a bus trip to Grande Bay to go water ski-ing,diving, undersea walking or just to arrange an excursion. Or if you wanted simply lie on the beach which wa a two minute walk from the apartment.
The resturaunts around the apartment wer good but the fish resturaunts we found were expensive. The local Thai and Maurition resturaunt be ing the most reasonable.
All in we had a wonderful time and would certanly go again and would reccomend it to our friends.

5 star holiday in Pereybere
The best way to appreciate the beauty of the island we feel is to rent an apartment so you do not get yourself confined to the grounds of a hotel. There is so much to do and see that you will return for more holidays
We found that the apartment was in the ideal location, 2 minutes walk to the beach (one of the best on the island) and restaurants.
The apartment was superb, the personal touches around the apartment makes it feel like a home .The first impression we had when we walked through the door was the cleanliness and how spacious the apartment was, which after a long flight gets the holiday off to a best possible start.
The facilities in the apartment are superb and you have everything you need. This is truly home from home. You can relax in the apartment in the evening or by the spacious pool. With 2 children it was great that we all had plenty of space. The master bedroom is an apartment on its own.
We have already passed your details onto a number of friends.
Shelia (the housekeeper) looks after the guest as though they are family, we could not have asked for more ( Shelia's cooking was a delight to sample) Shelia will cook for you at a very reasonable cost and its great to come back after a day out to have a meal prepared for you. (better than most restaurants in the area)
The boat trip with Herve is something else and I highly recommend that you go on this, This is not a trip you will find in the local tourists offices, but details on this and many other trips are all in the apartment.
Do not worry about driving in Mauritius, its so easy and you will get to those wonderful local beeches far easier.

3 wonderful and totally unforgettable weeks in a delighful apartment close to the most beautiful beaches imaginable! The appartment was well equipped, cleaned daily to a high standard and managed by a delightful family who could not have done more to make our stay more comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the trip on the 'Pirogue' with Herve to Flat Island with BBQ lunch and the most wonderful snorkeling experience. We are now regular visitors and are happy to recommend Sandra and Mark's Appartments. Just go, you will not regret it! Tony and Rosemary

This was an excellent location - the stunning beaches were literally minutes walking distance
away. The facilities in the apartment were good overall. We were very impressed with the housekeepers - they really looked after us throughout our time and provided an exceptional service. Grand Bay was 10mins by car. We recommend this to families with children or group getaway. Moreover, some great restaurants nearby.

3 Bedroom Apartment Residence Les Filaos
20th June - 3rd July 08
My wife and I and two grown up children stayed at the apartment during the above period. The apartment was extremely well kept, and was very clean and tidy, and although it was 'winter time' in Mauritius, the a/c was much appreciated at night-time.
We arrived in Pereybere following what the locals said had been the worst weather in 30 - 40 years. Indeed, for the first 3 days it was very wet and very windy, but after that the clouds parted and the sun shone through and it was brilliant until the end of our stay.
Most nights we ate in Grand Baie which had an excellent selection of Indian Chinese and Thai restaurants. Eating out was very reasonable, and at lunch-time it was even cheaper, as we usually ended up having a couple of roti cani and a nice cold beer.
We did most of the usual 'trips', but the highlight of our stay had to be the day-out on the pirogue with Herve. That really was a day to remember! He took us to the north of the island, taking in all the little bays and giving us a commentary on each location. For lunch he found an isolated little cove, and then served the most delicious BBQ ever of marlin, chicken, sausage, salad and dahl, accompanied by chilled wine, beer and soft drinks. To our everlasting shame, we couldn't finish the meal as he had prepared copious amounts of everything!! It was superb.!!!!!
On the sail home he let my wife and I take turns on the tiller. We nearly ran down a turtle !! Herve is also an artisan and makes his own jewellry. We had left the boat trip until the day before we came home so we never got the chance to see any of his designs, which was very sad, as the guy is extremely interesting.
The holiday was very relaxing and we would recommend it to anybody looking for a quiet holiday, but in an excellent location for getting out and doing the 'sights'.
Perhaps the only down side is that the apartment doesn't have a nice balcony with a view to be able to sit out and watch the world go by.
