Wonderful week in Kefalonia
The house was great, very clean, comfortable and with real character too, the view from the front was beautiful, pool was lovely, very peaceful location, comfortable and easy. Athina was very helpful, we would thoroughly recommend. Short drive into Fiskardo, loads of great restaurants and bars, everyone was really welcoming and friendly, a beautiful fishing village, I would definitely go back!

Great location
The house was spacious and very clean , with lots of outside space and off road parking
Athina was only a phone call away and quick to respond to minor issues
This is a good location, as only 15 minutes drive down the road to Fiskardo which has good supermarkets, and an abundance of cafes and restaurants

Wonderful. Beautiful villa in an idyllic location.
Villa Stavros was fully renovated in 2018, and it shows. The house is absolutely beautiful: spacious, well-lit, filled with touches of care and pride. It could easily accommodate six (two double bedrooms and two single), with a study/games room and two airy upstairs drawing rooms as well as a large downstairs sitting room.
Peaceful and secluded, it is located in Touliata about 15 minutes by car from the coastal town of Fiskardo, 5 minutes from the village of Magganos.
Athina is thoughtful: in her delightful presentation of the house, her attentiveness to guests (the house was cleaned and linen and towels changed every three days) and in little touches such as the 'starter pack' of groceries provided on arrival.
But the house, the house. We kept discovering little artefacts and other neat little signs of pride. The gardens were also lovely, giving plenty of exterior space.
The only minor niggles were slow wifi (probably a good thing) and the pool, which was just about big enough for two small children to swim and play. A killer whale would displace all the water - so if you have one, don't bring it.
Our favourite nearby restaurants: Ionion Restaurant in Magganos (which Athina rightly recommended) and Veggera Taverna in Vasilikiades.

Lost for words! Rustic, charming... truly stunning.
Never have I walked in to a villa and been truly speechless! Me and my family stayed in Stavros Villa after its loving refurbishment in July 2018. Upon entry, we recieved a VERY generous welcome pack ... even including a bottle of wine and some chocolate cake! We were thankful to have this after our flight.
The initial exterior of the villa is beautifully grand, surrounded by lush green trees. Every room has been decorated with so much thought and creativity and with an artistic eye. The white and cream walls and flooring contrast beautifully with the rustic dark wood. The house is full of unique antiques and artefacts dating from all ages, and some beautiful pieces of artwork from Athina herself. It is not cluttered. Spacious and light and absolutely SPOTLESS. Athina does an amazing job. My favourite room in the house was upstairs with two large doors leading to a balcony with an impressive sea view. A beautiful area to watch the sunset, or sunrise. There is also a terrace area to the side of the house with an old well and some chairs to sit and eat breakfast.
One of the villas best features is it’s garden for sure. It contains its very own ruins with blue ‘Mamma Mia’ style shutters, an old olive tree and an array of flora and fauna. The rustic, vintage style follows through the garden with the stone walls. I could never get bored in this garden, each day I noticed something special about it.
The villa has all the mod cons, including good WiFi, air conditioning, and a strong hairdryer which is always a plus! The area of Touliata is extremely quiet with little light pollution, meaning on a night you can see every single star in the sky. The only sounds you will hear are cicadas and goat bells. The village of Magganos is a 10 minute walk, the walk is not bad but is dark so you will need to use the torch on your phone. The GORGEOUS Foki Beach is only a 10 minute drive along with Fiscardo bay! Myrtos Beach and Assos are also not far away, Stavros Villa is in the perfect location.
Athina and Stavros were brilliant hosts, they were only a phone call away. We were offered a ride in Stavros’ vintage car, however we unfortunately did not have the time on our trip, so are looking to return so we can experience this, a very kind
If you are looking for vintage rustic charm with the light, airy modern feel this is the place for you.
Peaceful, tranquil.... I would say it was perfection.
We will come back ASAP!!
Thank you!

A rare & wonderful slice of authentic Kefalonia!
Stavros Villa is a beautiful and grand family home set high in the hills of Touliata in northern Kefalonia, with commanding views across the Ionian Sea. Built in 1925, the house has been lovingly preserved by the owner, Stavros. From the beamed high ceilings to the traditionally painted floorboards, from the original shutters to the wrought ironwork on balcony, railings and doors, the architecture of this house is both elegant and substantial. The walls are hung with family portraits, local art and an amazing range of historic artefacts and objets d'art expressing the history of the house and those who have lived there. Stavros, a musician, is clearly an artist too and the house is his canvas. There are three reception rooms ...two upstairs with chaise longue to enjoy the beautiful views from and three bedrooms with original cast iron and brass beds (the only tiny quibble is that the mattresses are quite hard, but we got used to them after a couple of days). There are two shower rooms and - unusually - a traditional bathroom with huge bath. If this sounds like a museum it isnt -it also had all the mod-cons that we wanted including air con, wi-fi, iPod dock, CD player (linked to pool for outside music), DVD, satellite tv, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge freezer etc. The gardens are the owner's passion and we loved them too. its tempting never to go out and just enjoy the spaces he has created. There are several distinct and private areas including a sheltered, sun-dappled terrace just off the kitchen for dining and a very private, good sized pool area, which is a real sun trap. The pool itself, though not a lap pool, was perfectly big enough for us and is great for splashing around and cooling off. The planting is amazing - mature palm trees, vines, apricots, olive and lemon trees and an abundance of flowers and succulents. Perhaps most importantly, we were welcomed with warmth by Stavros and his daughter Athina and it was pleasure meeting them. They are kind, thoughtful and warm and were very generous hosts. The location is perfect - secluded but not isolated. A 15 minute walk or 5 min drive to Maganos with shops and a family run taverna that does a great Greek night on Wednesday, and a 10 minute drive to Fiscardo for an abundance of restaurants and shops (taxi is 10 euro). Highly recommended for the location, the beautiful house and gardens and for the lovely hosts! A rare treasure!

Beautiful, authentic villa. Great location / views
We loved the villa. It is a million miles from soulless modern holiday rentals and full of old Greek (and other) memorabilia. The villa is large so doesn't generally feel cluttered except possibly the kitchen.
All the facilities are well (indeed lovingly) maintained and work well. The shower rooms upstairs are a little basic but perfectly functional.
Considering the water situation, the requirement to hold the shower head yourself is reasonable.
The villa dates back to the 20s with high ceilings, painted wooden floors and other traditional decoration. It feels (and is!) completely authentic. The small rooms of the period are not ideal for modern living but there's enough space anyway. One quibble was that in bad weather there is a shortage of comfortable inside seating.
It has the ruins of an earlier earthquake casualty on the grounds. This is a feature of the island's character and really adds to the established feel of the place.
There are lots of places to sit outside with fantastic views from the sterna (rainwater collection well) and front porch. The pool is great for a plunge but too small for swimming.
The hosts were attentive but very discrete. Lots of nice touches like homemade olive oil on arrival.
Thanks Athina and Stavros for a lovely week!

Peace and perfection
This place is an idyll. The peace and pace of local life is a real tonic. We've stayed here every May for several years and always wish we could stay longer. Athina and her father are very discrete hosts that take pride in their wonderful villa and the enjoyment of their guests.

Unique and stunning property a real find!
We had the pleasure of staying at Stavros mansion, last year. This really is a special place, beautiful house full of antiques, with stunning sea views from balconies and large outside courtyard with shady trees and beautiful flowers. The swimming pool is very private and the owners made us feel most welcome. Ideal location for exploring northern kefalonia, Assos, Fiscardo and there are some lovely hideaway beaches close at hand, like Alaties, Ierusalim, easy drive to famous Myrtos bay. Highly recommend to those who like to stay in individual properties with a sense of place, and history. This is a villa like no other! well equipped and full of character. Thankyou Athena and Stavros!
