Perfect location with easy access to ski slopes and amenities. The chalet is spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable. Great for families and groups.

Great location for both amenities and ski lifts. Would definitely recommend

Second year, and have already booked next year! The chalet is in such a great location in Plagne Centre and perfect for small groups/families. Hosts are responsive and really friendly. Amenities are fairly basic though so do come prepared to be completely self catering (we had no bin bags, toilet roll, oven gloves, tea towels etc). Very spacious and rooms are all a really good size. This year parking isn’t available outside the chalet though either, so be careful. It says it’s Meter Pay but there isn’t anywhere to pay and you just get a ticket from Muncipal Police who patrol the area.
If you’re looking for ski in/ski out, this is almost as good as you can get in Plagne Centre. The slope out of the back of the chalet is also so fun if you have children… great for sledging, snowball games and general fun!
Thoroughly recommend for Plagne Centre. 10/10 :)

Location was perfect for us… walking distance to ski school for the kids and close enough to have lunch at home and head out on the slopes again…family area was great …

This Chalet was absolutely perfect for our family of 6. The owners were incredibly helpful and so responsive with anything we needed. It’s a great size Chalet; we’ve been to ones before where you can’t swing a cat, and this one was so much more comfortable and spacious. Location for Plagne Centre/ ski school/ lifts etc was fabulous, especially with young children. Great space at the back for snowmen building! Good sized bathrooms and plenty of storage space. We brought all our meals and food from home for the week and room for it all (*although we did use our own cool box as well as the fridge /freezer as this was just a normal sized fridge /freezer you’d expect in a Chalet). We almost don’t want to share the secret of this great find!

I am a host with 13 holiday let properties so we based our review on both a personal and professional basis.
The good bits:
The communication with the owners was very good, even to the point of directing us up the mountain which was a great help. Their housekeeper met us at the chalet to show us around.
The bedrooms were a reasonable size and had good storage. The living/dining room was a good size with lovely views and made cosy by the Woodburner. The kitchen was small but had a full size oven, hob and fridge freezer. We made much use of the raclette which made for an easy supper after skiing.
The chalet was about 100m from the nearest ski slope, so whilst it's not possible to ski in/out, it was a very easy walk, as were the shops and bars. We all slept well! We managed to park both cars opposite the chalet which was great.
The not so good bits:
* For the cost of the chalet, we were very disappointed that the basics of self catering were not provided, this included hand soap, salt, pepper, oil, and washing up liquid. Some toilet rolls were provided.
* The two sofas in the living room were extremely uncomfortable to sit and relax on, we appreciate that they are sofa beds but I know (because I have them), that there are far more comfortable sofa beds available.
* It would have been nice to have been provided with a basket of kindling and logs for the first night.
* The kitchen was not as well stocked as it could be, there was no grater and no covered roasting dishes.
* In the wardrobes there was a complete mismatch of wire and plastic hangers, not essential to a holiday, but it would feel much more like a professional unit if there were, for example, just 8 matching hangers.
* The deposit scheme was awkward if you don't have access to a bank issuing euros. We paid cash which meant we had to wait for the housekeeper to turn up at the end of the holiday rather than shooting off as early as we would have liked to. A card machine would be so much easier to collect and return the large deposit.
* The ski locker was very snug for 6 people, I doubt 10 sets of skis would be able to fit in.
* There was only one set of keys for the lower door, which is the first one you come to when arriving at the house and the last one to leave from - a second set would have been helpful.
The points raised are in relation to the cost of the property and the comfort level, overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider staying again.

Stayed in February half term 2019 and as a party of 4 adults and 3 children, we were very happy with where we chose to stay.
The location is very convenient for getting into the main shopping and eating areas of La Plagne Centre via the Le France building and to getting onto the slopes (small hill to climb to get to the ski school locations and the Funiplagne lift area). It is a maze under there but once you know where you are going it is dead easy to get around. The parking is limited around there so in busy periods you have to get lucky with a space nearby or book an underground place. There are two lots of steps to get to the entrance of the building from the road as you don't get a key from the lower door, bare this in mind if you have young children as buggies are not an option in reality and nannies will not use a sling.
The chalet is very comfortable, has everything you really need. There isn't however a washing machine which is a little limiting, either more pairs of socks or washing manually. There is a launderette in the main shopping area but we got away without needing it. Cooking utensils are sufficient and the raclette machine is always a lovely treat when you get it out.
It was wonderfully quiet in the chalet, the road and chairlift noise didn't make it into the building.
All in all a great place to stay, thank you Annie.
Regards,
James and Family

Plenty of room for a family of 7 adults and 1 teenager. Well equipped and comfortable. Owners were really helpful answering all our questions really quickly. Would definitely recommend.

The chalet was perfect for us - 2 families with 4 children under 6. Clean, spacious, with a nice view of the mountains, and close to the pistes and shops. The owners were really accommodating with any queries we had before or during our stay.
I would definjtely recommend the chalet!!!

We had an excellent time staying at Chalet Marmot with plenty of room for the 6 adults and 4 children. We took logs for the fire but we didn't need to as the chalet was really warm, too warm at times, even with just the existing heating. However having a real fire made it that much more cosy. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and equipment to cook for all 10 guests. The view at breakfast is stunning either over the valley as the sun hits the mountain tops or up to the pistes. Access to the pistes and the ski schools was just a 200m walk to "Le France" where a short flight of steps lead down onto the snow. We were there in the Paris school holiday so we had free local buses, a big show with music and skiing displays by the instructors on the Thursday night. Despite this the queues for the lifts were much shorter than in some of the other local villages (although we were always there early for our local lifts but hitting the other villages about an hours later). Parking was tight for us, due to the huge amount of snow that had fallen meaning cars in the parking in front of the chalet were further apart than usual. We still managed to get a space for unloading the luggage and loading again at the end of the week. There are a large number of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. We had a great meal at Domino Pizza where, somehow, they managed to seat all 19 of our extended group all of whom returned to the Chalet for a drink afterwards with no issues with space for seating everyone. There is plenty to do for the non skiers in the group with easy access to the other villages on the free bus and walking routes that were clearly marked. Communication with the owner was great with them keeping us up to date and all our questions answered. There was nothing really to complain about. The ski cupboard was a little full with 5 pairs of skis and 2 snowboards, I don't think you'd get 10 boards in if you were a party of snowboarders. And 7 pairs of ski/board boots use up way more space than the shoe rack in the hall has although there is space in the bathroom by the radiator to dry/warm your boots at the end of the day. Be sure to take some newspaper or something to soak up the melting snow from your shoes. Overall a great place to stay and we'd recommend it. We had a memorable and enjoyable holiday.

We were a group of 9 friends all visiting La Plagne on a ski trip for the first time.
The Chalet is located in an excellent spot really close to the piste and it's not much further to walk to the shops, restaurants and ski school. The view from the balcony is lovely too.
Chalet Marmotte has everything you need and expect in a self-catered chalet. The kitchen is small but well equipped and the chalet in general is clean and well looked after. The owners Annie and Bruno were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
We hope the next people to stay here enjoy the igloo we built outside the back door!
