This was a lovely place to stay in Maine and we would most definitely return!
POSITIVES:
varying and generous water views; great birding to enjoy; both outside tables had umbrellas - a “must” when the sun is out; great coffee maker; lots of pillows in living room - helps when reading in bed; lovely flowers in flower boxes; lots of windows; easy to work combination door access; clean & pleasant bathroom; Hosts very responsive & timely in responding to questions.
NEGATIVES:
Sliding glass door needs a screen - it diminishes pleasure, comfort & air-flow in the Great Room without a sliding-screen door; TV directions: step by step directions should be provided- not all guests are tech savvy; exterior door handle is loose, wobbly & inner part of handle appears to be separating from outer part; both sides of bed need lighting for reading; recessed ceiling lights on one side in Great Room don’t turn all the way off (on the “hammock” side of room); kitchen needs: wax paper, foil, a garlic press, sharpened knives for cooking, more trays for “lap dining”, real dishes VS plastic , although pretty, plastic is plastic.
THANK YOU!
Thank You for sharing your water-side cottage… it gives those of us who don’t live there, opportunity to experience a bit of Maine! We enjoyed it immensely!

What a perfect cottage for getting away from our busy lives! Cove cottage was everything we hoped for--a simple yet beautiful cabin with everything we needed, gorgeous inside and out. It was exceptionally clean and well-stocked with kitchen, bathroom, and entertainment needs. The linens were so comfortable and the fans and a/c unit kept air moving through the cabin despite the heat of summer. The wide paneled wood walls and floors, natural light in every room, lovely loft design, two outdoor porches with dining tables, a comfortable hammock, all overlooking a serene cove--we found it to be even lovelier than the original description! We spent hours observing three bald eagles flying over the cove and perching a short distance from our porch. We visited area beaches (nestled in coves along midcoast Maine), hiked local trails with magnificent views, and explored bookstores and cafes in charming towns that are all only a short drive from this cottage. We ended most days with a fire pit, looking out on the cove. There is a sweet general store and a bakery nearby, and larger grocery stores in a neighboring town. Our family of four included two college aged sons who were grateful for this perfect week enjoying nature and unstructured time with each other. Many thanks to our hosts, who communicated clearly and always responded kindly and immediately to our questions. All in all we're grateful for the week we spent at this cottage, and we hope to return next year!

We loved how quiet and secluded the cabin was while still having easy access to explore all of the little towns nearby. It felt like we were on our own little peninsula. The views of the cove were beautiful. Marshall Point/Drift Inn Beach were close by. Vanessa and Paul made great recommendations, and our family of four was quite comfortable. Thank you, again, for a peaceful visit.

If you are looking for a quiet secluded spot surrounded by the beauty of Maine then this little cottage is perfect. There are many cute towns surrounding Tenant Harbor. The cabin was clean and cozy. We had a problem with the electrical system in the master bedroom (the breaker box just needed to be flipped) and the property owner was quick to help. Such a nice lady. My girlfriend and I didn’t want to leave!

There isn’t a negative about this property. The hospitality from the hosts, the location, and the location are all 5/5. Were Maine natives. If youre visiting the state or born and raised here this is plane to have the full experience. Thank you guys for everything and we’ll be visiting again next year.
All the best,
Mike and Julia

Such a peaceful, beautiful place to relax and unwind. Lots of beautiful shore bids to watch. Vanessa was great with communication and very nice to rent from. Would love to return in the future.

A beautiful spot! It is on a tidal cove and watching the birds and animals are quite entertaining. From deer walking across the mud flats, ospreys, geese, and gulls to observing a duck's nest. The cottage has everything you need and the owners are very easy to communicate with. I will definitely be returning next year!

The house provide everything we needed. The location is off a quiet dirt road and neighboring house can barely be seen. Nice quiet piece of land next to the water.

We loved our stay at Cove Cottage. The location is ideal for a quiet, peaceful getaway - the property felt private and secluded with fantastic water views and nature all around - while also being a great launching pad to towns and activities in the surrounding area. The cottage itself was nice and clean with rustic charm. We had a great stay here!

Wonderful cabin in a private area. Quiet and peaceful. Loved watching the tide go in and out. The owners were very easy to communicate with and helpful with giving recommendations in the area. Would stay here again.

The setting is very serene and secluded. If you want to be isolated, remote, and rustic, you'd find that here.
BUT ... there is no central working heat, and inadequate electrical service of tripping breakers from having to use numerous space heaters.
As someone with a necessary medical device, reliable electrical service is critical.
The property posting as of when we booked months prior, and as of this review, says: "We have a Heat Pump that regulates air temperature. We also provide small portable electric heating for the bedrooms, if needed." Furthermore the check-out instructions as of today state: "8) Make sure the temperature is set at 68 on the heat pump."
A very old note on the fridge says that the heat pump no longer works, yet again, that wasn't mentioned at any point leading-up to our stay.
We had to choose either, a.) working medical device and no heat; or b.) heat (if the breakers didn't trip), and no medical device.
It is difficult not to question the integrity of the owners (Vanessa and Paul) to not mention this leading-up to our stay. We feel like $1,500 was stolen from us. My wife cried and we actually left early to go to a hotel.
I received a message from the owner thanking us for the great care that we took of the place and how clean and kept it was after our check-out. That is how we are ... respectful of everything and everyone. Unfortunately that wasn't reciprocated, here.
Also, the bed is like sleeping on wood, and the pricing is absurd.

This cabin and location need to be seen to be believed! Beautiful views and an incredibly tranquil environment. We loved everything about our week here and hope to come back again in the future.

We've stayed at several rentals in the mid-coast region and this location was incredible! A few steps to a perch on a rock and the week produced a few thousand pictures of all the birds and other wildlife visiting all day long. The rustic cabin was perfect for the two of us and our dog. Nearby to great local restaurants and an awesome ferry trip to Monhegan Island. We can't wait to return!

Cozy rustic cabin surrounded by water, wildlife and beautiful views! We loved this peaceful gem on the water.
The hosts are wonderful, and very responsive to any questions/needs. We highly recommend this cabin for anyone who is looking for a idyllic Maine experience!

We had a beautiful stay in tenants harbor. The cabin was cozy with incredible cross breezes making it the perfect temperature. We saw bald eagles, loons, great blue herons, osprey, oyster catchers and more. We brought our kayak so everyday was an easy launch from the yard adding more adventures in fishing. The master bedroom provides an amazing view of the sunrise. It also provides incredible stargazing opportunities from the comfort of the bed. We saw 3 shooting stars. The house is perfect! As for the location again perfect! Great for exploring surrounding towns and it’s a quick ride to the 2 local general stores and ferry to Monhegan Island (which we did and greatly enjoyed). It was a wonderful stay and we hope to visit again in the future!

Cove Cottage is, as stated, a cottage. It is in a stunning location. It is not a luxury VRBO but has everything you need for cooking, sleeping, good WiFi, is very comfortable (the queen bed was great!) and returns you to a time when getting away meant not expecting granite counters and Viking ranges at your vacation rental.
Our first evening we were out on one of the two decks (a morning and afternoon deck depending on how much sun or shade you want) and watched a bald eagle hunting. We don't get that at home. We marveled at Maine's extreme tides as the cove emptied and refilled. We took advantage of mid- and high tide to launch kayaks we had delivered to the house (Port Clyde Kayaks) and explore the cove and well beyond.
We made good use of the grill for fresh seafood (Port Clyde Fresh Catch!) and had all the basic cooking supplies needed. If the weather turns iffy there are comfortable chairs in the living area for reading (loved the rocker!) and even a TV if you need it. There is no central heat or AC but there is a window unit and space heaters (we did not need any of them). Lots of windows open to a great view and let in lots of air.
A couple would enjoy Cove Cottage. Or a young family with a couple of kids in the loft area (they would love it up there!) and running around outside. It would be a great Maine vacation. If you want a true Maine experience, but still with good comforts, Cove Cottage!

We arrived after a week at the family cabin. It was a perfect spot to explore the Maine coast. From the deck and our kayaks, we watched the tides come in and out and arctic terns swoop and fish! It was beautiful. The sunrise was stunning. We also took the puffin tour, visited the lighthouse, and made note of the local spots from the binder/owners suggestions. The Clark Island preserve and quarry are worth the hike. The cozy cottage is reminiscent of the cottage I grew up visiting each summer in NH built in the 1940's. It's rustic and the views beautiful. The owners were lovely and responsive and the area incredibly welcoming. We would love to visit again.

We stayed for a week and had a wonderful experience. The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything that we needed. Best of all were the amazing views of water and wildlife. We would certainly return again!

This was our second vacation at this lovely, charming, and very clean and neat cabin. It is a special place at an extraordinary and convenient location with easy access to other midcoast towns and sights. One can watch the tide rise and fall at the cove that's just a few feet from the cabin. Our host is highly responsive, good natured and saw to it that we had everything we needed. We can't wait to go back!

Sealy Cove is such a beautiful spot, and this cabin is literally surrounded on three sides by water. I wasn't expecting the tides to move 10' at a time, so during high tide, the water was surrounding us, and at low tide, the whole cove became tidal mud. We saw bald eagles, herons, and other coastal birds. My son was very happy exploring the mud, seaweed, and woods. We brought our dog, and we appreciated having the large, secluded property for her to wander and walks together down the dirt lane.
The rental was very clean and stocked with kitchen and bathroom basics. With the exception of the hammock and a different family room layout, the cabin is as pictured. I think having newer, updated furniture (beds, couch, chairs) would go a long way to improving the overall comfort for guests.
I would highly recommend bringing or renting a sea kayak. Launching right from the property to explore the islands in the protected waters was incredible. Visit nearby Clark Island (walk across the causeway) for great hiking trails, beaches, and a saltwater quarry. Another favorite was Drift Inn Beach for a a huge sandy beach at low tide. The location of this cabin is easy to access points south towards Port Clyde or to head north or south on Route 1 to other towns.

This property was the quintessential Maine experience! The layout was perfect for myself, husband, and two girls. The location was ideal to the day trips we planned to take (Camden, Rockport, Owls Head, Rockland, Freeport, and whale watch tour out of Boothbay). The views just can’t be beat! Overall, I would stay here again but I would have preferred a rental that included linens and towels. We also had electrical nuisances and became good friends with the breaker box from switches tripping. I would have liked to have known that the heat wasn’t working prior to checking in (we were provided space heaters which worked, but kept tripping the breaker and blew out dust). The kitchen is functional, but nothing luxurious (I could tell it was an old range oven and microwave from the photo). We cooked a lot and packed picnics and I felt the fridge was too small but we made it work. Also, there’s currently not a hammock despite photos showing one, but my girls had their Eno hammocks so that wasn’t a big deal! The owners were very quick to respond to my concerns and were excellent hosts!

We absolutely enjoyed staying there. Unique, charming and cozy. A very nice place to spend your vacation.
Thank you for sharing!

We absolutely loved our stay. It was so relaxing to sit on the deck and watch the bay with the osprey and bald eagles fishing and geese with their babies. It was the perfect spot to kayak and paddle board. It was a great home base to visit Pemaquid, Booths Bay, Camden and Belfast. We loved Marshall’s Point lighthouse which was so close and got a chance to chat with locals at the Black Harpoon. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.

Clean, quintessential Maine cabin

This property, although on a road with other houses, feels very private. There is very little neighbor or road noise, allowing us to enjoy bird song, waves lapping, etc. The owners were very responsive to inquiries and kept us informed of any issues/changes. The cabin is somewhat rustic but accurately represented in the description. The location is convenient to many small towns, hiking trails, and restaurants. The sunrises were spectacular, and we enjoyed watching the changing of the scenery with the tides and time of day.

Wonderful chance to disconnect from the business of life and enjoy Mother Nature at its finest.

The cabin is a minimalist sanctuary. No frills, but comfortable, well-lit, and ideally situated on its own tiny spit of land on Seavey Cove. It made for a delightful, restful getaway for me and my husband and our 10-year-old rescue hound.

Location, location, location. On cove fed by the ocean. Plenty of avian life. Eagles, ospreys, terns, kingfishers, on and on. Superb viewing indoor or out. Everything represented was 100% accurate. Very comfortable. Do drive south a few miles to Port Clyde for relatively tourist free dining (Dip Net) Day trip north to Acadia National Park.

We had a wonderful end of summer vacation at the Cabin in Tenant's Harbor. To say the view was amazing doesn't do the it justice. It is stunning and breathtaking, and one of the most beautiful locations I have ever been. We loved sitting on the rocks and watching the birds. Eagles every day, osprey, gulls, terns, heron, egrets, greater yellow legs, loons... My nature loving 10-year old had a blast tramping through the mud at low tide, exploring

I would be happy sitting on the couch and looking out the picture window all day- watching the tide move in and out and the sun rise and set. It's a great place to get away and enjoy all the mid-coast of Maine has to offer, or just curl up with a good book and nice beverage. The hosts were super helpful and easy to communicate with.

The cabin is charming and immaculate and the setting is heavenly. It runs due east and west so the sunrise occurs on one side of the cabin and sunset on the other. It is a truly beautiful cove where you can see the fishing boats head to the sea around dawn and the tides rise and fall during the day. The property manager was very responsive and such a pleasure to communicate with. We can't wait to go back.

Perfect
We loved our stay at Cove Cottage. The cabin was clean, comfortable, quiet, and well stocked. We could not have asked for more. We particularly loved watching the sun rise, and the tides roll in and ou - the smell of salt air is not to be missed! Vanessa and Paul were very responsive but, frankly, we didn't need anything - they thought of everything!

Magical week in Maine!
The location of this cottage is amazing! We were able to paddle our kayaks right from the cottage during high tide. It's also very private, which was wonderful for our dogs. Osprey, an eagle and great blue heron were daily visitors. We were very comfortable during our stay. The cottage is adorable and the seating and beds are comfortable. The only change that would have made our stay perfect would be a larger refrigerator and better stocked kitchen. Otherwise, A+ and we look forward to returning for future stays. It was really hard to leave!

I rented this property for my mother's 70th surprise birthday. She always wanted to stay on the Maine seacoast and what a perfect location to do so!! I cannot rave about this piece of property enough. Vanessa was prompt in communication and accommodated us at check-in.
Things to keep in mind: As stated in the description- there is no sandy beach but at high tide its very easy to go swimming which we enjoyed! (And there was a beach a short driving distance away). The sunrise directly shines into the cabin so perhaps darkening eye mask if you're sensitive to morning light. Top floor of the cabin is sometimes squeaky, but we all thought that added to the charm.
All 5 adults, and our Golden Retriever, had a fantastic time and would definitely rent and recommend this stay to others!
