About this villa rental

Beautiful villa with an exceptional seaside location, with full view of Cassis Bay, the small port and Cap Canaille, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe. It is located 2 minutes from the village, and its port and beaches.

You'll love waking up to the sound of the waves, as if you were in a boat. Discover the comings and goings of the small port of Cassis, beyond the large terrace. You'll enjoy going to the village, to its restaurant or Provençal market, just a 2-minute walk away. Cassis is difficult to get to by car, the house's proximity is a considerable advantage. Thanks to its seaside location, the villa enjoys the fresh air of the sea breezes during the hot summer months. You will have a front-row seat for the fireworks of July 14th and August 15th.

The villa can accommodate 6 people, with 3 bedrooms, a bathroom and two separate WC.
All the bedrooms have exceptional sea views over Cassis Bay.

The villa has a very well-equipped kitchen, right next to the dining room and living room that give onto the exterior terrace that overlooks the sea.
Outside, you can enjoy a barbecue and a grill, according to your culinary desires. There is also a large teak table and deck chairs that allow you to enjoy the natural spectacle that you are being offered.
You'll admire the Cassis castle, right in front of you, as you are comfortably lying on the terrace.

This villa is in a small shared property with a common garden, a swing set and a boules green, all for your enjoyment.

There are numerous activities possible. The beach and the sea offer numerous nautical activities: paddleboarding, scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing canoe-kayak, surfing, rowing, walks, and renting motorboats and fishing boats. You can also take a 3-minute walk to the charming Provençal market, held on Wednesday and Friday mornings. On Saturday mornings, there is a small organic market.
Hikes are organised by guides in Cassis to the Calanques Conservation Area, where you can practice climbing. You can reach the calanques on foot from the house. The calanques can also be visited by sea.
Furthermore, Cassis village has a tree-climbing park, tennis courts, a paddleboating area, and a large modern municipal pool, with a swimming area and shallow pools with water jets for young and old alike.

You can also discover the wines of Cassis, which you can taste in the surrounding estates.

The Fregate Golf Club, with is dazzling view of the sea, is a few kilometres away from the village.
The summer evenings are enlivened with free outdoor concerts, and the night markets with their handicrafts.
By Cassis harbour, there are many welcoming restaurants and cafés with their terraces all the way down to the traditional coloured Marseille boats and the castle of Cassis, which blends in with the cliff.
A cinema, 4 minutes away from the villa, broadcasts various films for children and adults.

A water park is located 10 km away from the village. Marseille, the European Capital of Culture for 2013, is 20 km from Cassis and boasts 2600 years of cultural heritage.

Cassis is wonderful, and the villa is perfectly situated to enjoy the benefits and amenities of this lovely town. The villa is nestled on the edge of the harbor, and it is a very short walk to the town, restaurants and beach. There have been a number of improvements made at the villa. Reading prior comments, mirrors have been added and the bathroom modernized. But some of the upgrades “look” great but a not entirely successful from a usage situation. For example, there are two sinks in the bathroom, but both of a very modern design that make them virtually unusable as sinks. There is an excellent shower, but the owner has removed the facility to have the shower on the wall so you have to shower one-handed which is not ideal. There is no pool at the villa as was in the description when we booked. There are steps through a private gate down the small cliff face too the sea – but it is too dangerous and steep for young children or the elderly to be able to use. My main criticism is with what I can only describe as a highly money making attitude of the owner. This is an expensive villa to rent – with its great positioning understandably so. But I have never been asked to pay extra to hire bedding and towels – we were told a few days before we travelled that these were not included and we would have to pay extra – or pay to have the villa cleaned and asked to pay on arrival. These were not on the UK page when we booked. The representative said this was a translation issue and the fault of Homeaway. But it speaks to the attitude of the owner who seems intent to take as much money from visitors as possible with hidden costs. I would definitely recommend Cassis and am likely to visit again. Just not to this villa.

We really enjoyed our stay in Villa Cassis. The apartment was so comfortable, made especially fabulous by the terrace and the view, truly extraordinary. The bedrooms are upstairs and are plain but very comfortable. There is only one bathroom, but two toilets, one upstairs (separate from the bathroom) and one downstairs. There are stairs outside also, not so accessible for anyone with mobility problems. The kitchen is modern and nice. We greatly recommend to the owners to add mirrors in each of the bedrooms to do hair and make-up, as there is no outlet for hair dryers, etc., in the bathroom. The floor, tile, needs a good steam cleaning throughout. BUT, this is a truly remarkable place! Do not hesitate to stay here. It is great! Benedicte is a darling, too! We loved it.
