About this house rental
This Spanish style house sits atop a cobblestone street in the historic Edgewater neighborhood. Designed in the 1920s by Rockford s most famous architect, Jessie Barloga, Barloga homes represent the finest in Spanish-style, English Tudor and Art Deco architecture throughout Rockford proper. With a fully modernized, gourmet stocked kitchen, this lovely three-bedroom home sleeps 6. Whether you need a place to stay for work or pleasure, you will feel right at home in this cozy gem. The cathedral-like living room, with its arched barrel ceilings and hardwood floors, is flooded with natural light and an original fireplace. Throughout the home, the furniture was carefully chosen to be comfortable and sheek, accented with art pieces, books, and Rockford memorabilia. The environment created serves as a unique and interesting experience, as well as meeting the need for a great visual backdrop for your family vacation photographs and everlasting memories. The fully renovated kitchen, equipped with black stainless gas stove-top and oven, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, Whirly Pop popcorn machine and huge refrigerator, is the perfect place to fix full meals for you and your hungry family. There is a kitchen table as well as a full dining room. A front load washer and dryer are also available for your convenience. The home is a block from the beautiful and serene Rock River and walking path, and a brisk walk to the nearby Nicholas Conservatory, University of Illinois School of Medicine, and famous Japanese Anderson Gardens. The house is located two miles from downtown restaurants and shops, and is a 5 minute drive to Rockford University, Mercy Hospital, Sundstrand and Woodward Governor. There is so much to see in Rockford! To get some exercise, consider going on a walking tour of the Rock River, or the 320 mile Rock River Trail is available for your pleasure. While you snuggle up in the main area to watch a movie, the second story bedroom is perfect for the kids to get away and enjoy themselves (and their popcorn!). With two futons and lots of space to play and work, you can be assured that every person s needs for privacy will be met. You will never want to leave the Clinton House after your visit, but the experience will create memories worth repeating.

We enjoyed the living spaces in this house which is in a lovely old neighborhood near the river. It's a good place to wander around, especially if you appreciate old architecture. The living room windows are beautiful and we enjoyed them on our sunny Saturday. Both beds were comfortable. We love all the color in the place!
Some repairs would be good: the bathroom door doesn't shut; one of the dining room chairs has a sunken seat; the overhead light in the front bedroom is either burnt out or needs wiring repaired.
The location and aesthetics of this home make for a lovely stay.

We absolutely loved this house. Filled with lots of unique charm from the 1920’s and pop culture it was a wonderful place to stay. We walked across the bridge to Sinisippi Park and walked along the river. It is a beautiful neighborhood from the turn of the last century, so I highly recommend taking a walk around the neighborhood too.
The neighbors were friendly and welcoming. The back yard was a great place to sit and read a book.

We wanted a comfortable place to be a hangout for our family reunion with our elderly father who lives in Wesley Willows. The living room was great- a beautiful room with nice light and high ceilings, impeccably decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed for making coffee and snacking. The bedrooms were well appointed. Our only problem was the loft room has 2 box springs, not mattresses and we could not use that room. Thankfully we had read some reviews from past guests so we had a contingent plan for our 5th family member.

This home was fantastic. Beautifully designed with comfort in mind. We will definitely stay there again.

We absolutely loved the place and how conveniently located it was to where we needed to go. We love the colors and the arched windows! If we ever need somewhere to stay in Rockford again we wouldnt hesitate to reach out to see if this house is available. Thank you so much!

This is our 2nd time staying at this property. The first time was in November 21 for my son’s basketball game at RU. This visit was for his graduation. There were no hand towels, the original 32” tv is still there and it is was the subject of my complaint from the first visit and finally the cleanliness wasn’t on point this go around. We made the best of it. I recommend installing a larger tv for the living area and two additional tvs for the bedrooms.

It is our third time staying at this home and was just enjoyable as it was the first time around! Great neighborhood and easy to get to from around town. Definitely plan to stay again when back to visit family!

We had a great stay at George's place. My family and I were in town for my bridal shower and this home was the perfect spot for us to stay. The house is decorated so cutely and was bigger than we expected. It was also well stocked and we had everything we needed. The location by the river is also great and we loved exploring the neighborhood. We will definitely stay again!

We stayed in Rockford just one night for a family wedding, but this property was such a gorgeous little gem, I really wish we had more time there. The coved ceilings, the arched windows, the fireplace, the newly updated kitchen with navy cabinets, the thoughtful and stunning decor throughout -- it was all superb.

The perfect home away from home!
What a beautiful home in the heart of a historic area of Rockford. It was the perfect place for us to stay while in town as it was centrally located to our family living in the area, and close to the river to enjoy morning and evening walks. The home had everything you could possibly need and was beautifully decorated with fun, vibrant art and decor throughout. Wish we could have stayed longer but plan to be back in the spring, and hope to stay here again!

What a great family getaway! The house is so beautiful inside and out! It's extremely interesting to roam inside and see something new every time you look around. The neighborhood was quiet and pretty. Just a short walk to the river and a short ride to plenty of shops and restaurants.

It’s very hard for me to write a bad review but the experience was hard to forget. We checked in around 11:30 PM and immediately noticed towels on the kitchen floor and random items on the tables. We initially were confused, until we walked the whole house. That’s when we noticed that all the beds were undone and dishes from the previous guests were still in the sink. At that point, we noticed that the house hadn’t been cleaned from the guests before us. We tried to get ahold of the owner that night, and had no luck. The Vrbo app was the only form of communication we had with the owner. We were about 2-3 hours away from home and some of us were in no condition to drive. We tried to make the best of it and found new (hopefully clean) sheets. We changed out the bedding ourselves and discovered the mattress protector was supposed to be white and it was yellow. At that point, we double wrapped our bed/pillows with the new sheets. After an hour of being in bed, the front door slammed open out of no where. We thought the owner was trying to get inside. After that happened, we were definitely not comfortable staying there. I then started questioning where the second bathroom was since it wasn’t on the main floor or upstairs. So clearly there was a whole section of the house we hadn’t explored and the door slamming open the way that it did left us very uneasy. We ended up leaving at about 2 AM, and having to come back for our cars the next day. Since then, I have been trying to get my refund for the stay. The owner was texting me & messaging me through the app and asking for my PayPal to send the refund. The refund process hasn’t been a walk in the park. Vrbo is telling me it’s up to the owner and the owner is saying it’s partially up to Vrbo. At this point, I just want my money back.

My friends and I needed a last minute place to stay and George was so helpful! He really went above and beyond to help us out and communicated very efficiently. Additionally, the space itself was beautiful and such a wonderful house that is wonderfully decorated. The town has close by grocery stores and all the convenience it needs to allow a great stay. Would 100% stay again, thanks!

We enjoyed our stay and were very pleased. The house is bright, clean, and cozy! George is very responsive to questions.
My only 2 comments for improvement would be that 1) we couldn't find hand soap for the bathroom, and 2) it took us some time to find the towels. Would be nice if a hand towel were put out at least in the bathroom.
Thanks for a great stay, George!

Pros and Cons
I wish I could say we had a pleasant stay, but for us that wasn't the case in the end.
The good, and some undesirable cons:
Stylish remodeled home.
Remodeled kitchen.
Nice couch and living space.
Good neighborhood (crazy loud next door neighbor though - yelling at her dog way too much).
Good pillows, two queen fluffy beds, but very rough sheets and uncomfortable small children's beds in the attic room. And none of the indoor doors could latch or lock properly.
Full furnished kitchen, but everything could fit in the dishwasher. We were very short on plates and normal sized bowls.
Good selection of other kitchen hand tools.
Nice new appliances. Kuerig with coffee and cocoa.
Some things could be improved to make this a wonderful stay. Overpriced for two comfortable rooms.
What could have been a great stay was made much worse in the end, because the owner accused us of stealing kitchen dishes, which were placed in either the dishwasher (per owner's request), or in one of the kitchen cupboards. Not great customer service in the end, and zero apology after we can only assume the overlooked dishes were discovered.

Rockford Visit
George is a very good host and was very quick to respond to our questions and needs. The Clinton property’s decor is amazing. Very eclectic and chic but also very comfortable. The only few things I would add is a larger TV in the living room, maybe televisions in the bedrooms (not as important), and definitely a more comfortable bed in the upstairs bedroom. Everything else was perfect.

Cozy home in older, well-maintained neighborhood
This home is situated in a cute, well-maintained older neighborhood. It has pretty, high ceilings, a newly updated kitchen, and modern decor. The 2 BD on the main floor are across the hall from one another with a small bath between the two. The bath is small and there's only one, which is one of the downsides. George was great to work with! :)

Beautiful Home; Beautiful Neighborhood
We truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, modern, fun property. We never found the third BR, but the other two BR’s and loft space sufficed for us. The futon beds in the loft space are small and would work perfectly for kids. We would visit here again!

Wonderful Stay!
My bridesmaids and I stayed here over my wedding weekend and had a wonderful time. It was a perfect place for us to stay and get ready on the wedding day--good neighborhood, spacious, very clean, nicely decorated, and lots of gorgeous windows! Our only issue was that the bed in the upstairs, third bedroom, seemed to be a foldout futon with sheets on it and was very hard to sleep on. We put some blankets on for extra padding, which helped. But other than that, everything was great!
