Elia House was the perfect location for our family Christmas. Beatrice went to so much trouble to decorate the house with a Christmas tree, Christmas decorations and a multitude of candles, which added to the warm, festive atmosphere. The house itself is very spacious, with comfortable bedrooms, an extremely well equipped kitchen and very pleasant living spaces for relaxing and reading. Just a few minutes walk brings you to the local bars, well stocked épicerie, greengrocer and boulangerie. An excellent base for lovely walks and visiting the many beautiful Luberon villages. Thank you Beatrice for making us feel so welcome in your lovely home.

A cozy and well-appointed home in an idyllic corner of the world. This was the perfect launching point to explore the Luberon and Beatrice was a communicative, welcoming and super helpful host. We enjoyed kicking back by the fire every evening after exploring the countryside and Goult feels like an under-the-radar gem. Was sad to leave!

We stayed in Elia House for two weeks and loved every moment. The house is large, comfortable and well-equipped. Beatrice has thought of everything! The beds are fantastic. The view from the top floor terrace is mesmerizing. And the pool is a welcome respite on hot afternoons. The kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal, although you may not want to because of all the fabulous restaurants in Goult and the surrounding villages.
Thank you, Beatrice, for sharing this gem of a place with us. It was the perfect central location for exploring the Luberon. We fell in love with Goult and it's sweet, welcoming people and were always happy to return there after being out and about in the beauty that surrounds it.

Elia House has everything you need to make your stay special. The bedrooms are spacious with beautiful authentic furniture and the beds were comfortable. If you're lucky enough to sleep in the top left-hand room you have direct access to the top terrace giving spectacular views across the countryside and you can see Mont Ventoux on a clear day.
The lower terrace accessed directly from the kitchen was perfect for having our meals and we ate out there most of the time. It might have been a bit of a squeeze if there were 8 people but it would definitely be manageable.
The swimming pool is a good size and was cleaned twice a week. Sunloungers were comfortable and the pool shower/toilet room was useful.
The kitchen was extremely well equipped - every utensil etc that we thought we might need, we found!
Beatrice kept in contact regarding checking in/out and was very helpful in offering us any advice we needed.
Yes, there is no toilet on the top, floor but it's just a few stairs down to the middle floor bathroom and the view from the toilet window was fabulous! Thank you Beatrice for letting us experience your wonderful house if only for a week!

Great location, great house, impeccable service from our host Carole, recommended +++

Elia house was lovely. Most well appointed rental we have ever experienced. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need. Around the corner from downtown restaurants which are very good. We loved the upper deck and spent most evenings there sipping wine and enjoying the view and sunset. Beatrice was very attentive to our needs and checked in a couple times during our stay. Overall wonderful experience. (Bathroom features are a little funky, so be sure to pay attention to how they are described on her website. For us there was no problem, and we ended up liking the arrangement.)

We were painters on a plein air holiday. For a week and loved every minute. Goult’s local epicerie and wonderful local restaurants provided us with all we needed. We didn’t have a car and so we’re reliant on the very busy schedules of taxi drivers, so I’d recommend a car. The only thing that’s a drawback is that there are only two toilets in the house, and none to accommodate the two bedrooms on the third floor. Still, I’d come back in a heartbeat.

Staying in the town of Goult but having a view out over the valley and mountains was fantastic. The location is amazing for sightseeing in the Luberon and being able to walk 100m to the shops and restaurants. The house is very well equipped with very generous spaces. We had breakfast on the rooftop patio with a view of the mountains every morning. It was too cold to enjoy the outdoor pool and garden spaces during this cold May. The welcome to the property and communication with the owner were perfect. Thank you!

We could not have been happier with Beatrice’s home in Goult. We stayed for three weeks in April, and had the joy of watching spring unfold. When we arrived, the vines on the front of house were mostly bare; when we left, they were lush and green, and climbing roses covered the house next door. April is too cool for the pool, and we didn’t care about that anyway (no kids), but it’s a nice one, with plenty of loungers, a pool-shed shower and toilet, and a ping-pong table.
The bedrooms are large and nicely furnished, with comfortable beds. Some people might have a hard time with there being no toilet on the top floor, where two of the bedrooms are, but that’s life in an old European house, and we were fine with it. The upstairs sitting room is a quiet bonus space to work or read. As everyone has said, the top-floor terrace has a dreamy view and is gorgeous in the early evening. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, and the living room has room for everyone to get comfortable.
Because we had the luxury of three weeks here, we explored most of the notable villages of the Luberon (don't miss the lesser-known Saignon, Caseneuve, and Joucas, and Oppède-le-Vieux is amazing), and Goult is hands-down the best to "live" in. Within a four-minute walk are a first-rate boulangerie, fromagerie/glacier, butcher, presse/tabac/cafe, and small but fully stocked market, plus three upscale (but not too frou-frou) restaurants, a casual Italian place, an excellent pizzeria, and two outdoor cafes, although the famous Cafe de la Poste was mysteriously closed (it appears to have changed hands a second time), so for now everyone is having their coffee and rosé at Le Goultois next door. There’s also a tiny but delightful market on Thursdays. Most of the small villages in the Luberon don't have all those amenities, and the larger ones (Gordes, Roussillon, Bonnieux) have to deal with tour buses and some tourist schlock.
Le Carillon was our favorite restaurant in Goult, but we had good meals at all of them (except a so-so lunch at Le Goultois, which really isn't a restaurant). Other favorite meals in the region included: simple lunches with killer views at Cafe de France in Lacoste and Bistrot la Terrasse in Joucas; Cafe de France in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue; rustic Bistrot de Pays l’Authentic in Caseneuve (thanks to pool guy Rolland for the tip!), and L’Insolite in Lourmarin. Favorite market was in Curcuron.
In sum: Elia House is wonderful!

A wonderful house in our favorite village in the Luberon. Great restaurants, one bakery, one fromagerie, one wine shop, one grocer. That’s all you need! Great base for exploring the Luberon. (Beatrice, the tuning on the piano has generally slipped a half step, eg, A is half way to Ab. When you have it tuned, , tune a half step low else you may snap strings.)

Great house in the centre of Goult
We loved our stay at the house in Goult. Beatrice was great to deal with and it is in the perfect location of the village of Goult, with easy access to other sights nearby. The village itself has several great restaurants, good for lazy days by the pool when you don't want to go out on a drive.

Beatrice was a pleasure to meet and help us get situated, including a welcoming bottle of local wine and cheese. We spent many lovely evenings on the balcony overlooking other hill top towns in Provence with glorious sunsets.

Great stay!
We had a truly wonderful family vacation in Goult. The village was beautiful and quiet. All the restaurants within walking distance were excellent! We had our toddler with us, and she loved the house with all its many rooms and toys!

quick escape
this is a lovely property on the edge of the village on a quiet street. The owner was amazing and extremely thoughtful, the house comfortable and welcoming. I was working while there and the central location worked well for my needs, plus it was always a pleasure to return home after a long day.

Elia-House is very spacious, well taken care of and beautifully decorated. The view from the roof terrace is pretty spectacular. Some of our group regularly met up there to watch the sun go up.
An ideal house to enjoy a vacation with family and/ or friends.

Magnificant home in Goult
Amazing property in the heart of Goult with beautifully decorated rooms and a well-stocked professional kitchen. The garden is an idyllic hideaway when you just want to relax. Spectacular view of Ventoux.

Great place for a relaxing stay in a historic setting
We had a great stay at Elia House in early September. The house has loads of historic charm and is super relaxing. My husband and I and 2 close friends enjoyed the house and the village so much that we didn't stray too far from home, despite the attractions of the Ventoux. We enjoyed eating at Cafe de la Poste in Goult, watching the world go by. Also the pizza take- away in Goult is good. Elia House is not best suited to families with toddlers because of the steep steps, but I would thoroughly recommend it to others.

Perfection in Provence
Maison Elia is a near-perfect rental property in the heart of the Luberon: spacious and well-appointed, and perfectly situated in both the village of Goult and in Provence overall.
The house itself is spacious and nicely decorated, with a large dining room, kitchen, and living room on the ground floor, and 4 spacious bedrooms on the ground and upper floors; as well as a piano, ping pong table, TV and other activities. But the real selling points are the lovely backyard, with an elevated deck, paved patio, and in-ground pool that is a lush and private oasis after a morning in the bustling markets, perfect for lounging in the sun or cooling off in the pool; and the 3rd floor terrace overlooking the Luberon valley and Mont Ventoux in the distance, which is the ideal setting to steal away to read in peace, or enjoy a kir royale at dusk.
The house sits just a block or so from the village square, within easy walking distance of the grocery store, bakery, butcher, cafe, 4-5 excellent restaurants, and a host of other shops and attractions in Goult, but far enough away that the noise and bustle of the town is barely noticeable (especially on nights when there are town events).
Goult is also ideally situated for exploring all that Provence has to offer. It is within 10-20 minutes of many of the most popular villages to visit, including Gordes, Menerbes, Bonnieux, and Roussillon, and is within an hour of many others, including Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Apt, and Avignon. Marseille is less than 90 minutes, and Montpellier is a couple hours, among many others. The town itself is a wonderful place to stay: it's not quite as pretty or spectacular as say, Gordes or Menerbes, and so doesn't draw the same volume of visitors; but it is still a beautiful, ancient village, and so offers the best of both worlds.
The only blemishes on an otherwise perfect property are aging dishwasher and washing machines, and a lack of a drying machine (though clothes air dry rapidly in the dry provence air); and a lack of reserved parking (though there are plenty of spots within a block). We've stayed twice, and on both occasions the owner, Beatrice, has been responsive and helpful, both leading up to our stay (helping to secure dinner reservations, giving advice, etc.) , and in helping to troubleshoot problems while we were there (for example, a clogged drain in the shower was fixed within a day).
We love Goult and we love Maison Elia, and we hope you will too!

Elia House
We had a wonderful vacation in Goult! We were a family of 8 from ages 7-70 ! The house is beautiful and the location is perfect. The children enjoyed. the pool for. the wether was very hot ! European heat wave during our visit Béatrice was so helpful with planning!

A great stay in spite of the canicule (heatwave)
We stayed at Maison Elia for three weeks and had a delightful time. Check-in went smoothly, and there was cheese, olives, and wine waiting for us. I made sure I understood the washing machine and the stove, but I neglected to ask about the TV. It took a while, but we figured it out and enjoyed watching the women's World Cup matches.
Common space: The house has the best kitchen I've ever encountered in a rental house, with two coffee makers, a food processor, a blender, and all the pots and dishes you could ever need. The living room is spacious, and the two uncomfortable looking chairs in the photos have been replaced with a long sofa. A room not included in the photos is a second large living room on the first (Fr) floor, providing another place for people to spread out for different activities. As other reviews have mentioned, the rooftop terrace is delightful. During the day it provides a view of Mt. Ventoux and the valley between Goult and the Monts de Vaucluse. At night the stars were magnificent!
Bedrooms and baths: The arrangement was somewhat unusual and would probably work better for a family than for several couples traveling together. An additional shower and toilet are next to the pool. The bedrooms were large and had ample storage space, the linens were nice, but the lighting was somewhat dim.
Area information: The owner, Beatrice, sent us a very nice information package about the area before we arrived, and there were many brochures in baskets in the living room.
Maintenance: Various people came to clean the pool, care for the landscaping, and to change the linens, but they had their own access and didn't intrude. Plumbers spent several hours replacing a fixture in one of the showers.
Coping with the canicule: Beatrice advised us open the shutters and windows at night and to close them during the day to retain the cool air. The building has thick stone walls, and that approach would be fine during normal summer heat, but the canicule with temps of 105-111F was extreme. We managed to stay cool with the pool, but it would have been nice to have had a few fans in the house. (At least one is shown in the photos.)
Owner: I had asked about boules so we could play pétangue just down the street, and Beatrice very kindly supplied two sets for us. We appreciated that she checked in several timed during our stay to ensure that everything was going well.
It was a wonderful stay, and we would return in a heartbeat!

PerfectProperty
Well located in a delightful village.....and one of the best equipped homes we
have enjoyed over the years......Attentive owner and staff responded quickly to
minor problems.....but most of all, it is a most pleasant home to return to at the
end of a touring day. Surrounding countryside provides quaint hilltop villages with pretty fountains, interesting architecture, breathtaking views.... and weekly markets.
Visit Gordes, Bonnieux, Roussillon, La Coste, Menerbe...Avignon, Fontaine de Vaucluse,
...and further afield ...StRemy de Provence and Les Baux... and make some of your own
discoveries!
Highly recommend Elia House in Goult for anyone visiting the Luberon.

A perfect Christmas in Goult
Beatrice was the most wonderful host, the house was decorated, warm, cozy and homely, a home away from home. A wonderful week away.
4.8
The owner and house were fantastic
This beautiful house in the village of Goult was perfect for our group of six as a base for a week exploring the nearby villages of Provence. At three floors, the house is large enough to give everyone enough space for privacy or time alone, while having ample space to sit down together as a group at the end of a day exploring the area. Usually I can find at least one fault with a place I rent, but not here. The owner was wonderful to work with and I have no hesitations at all in recommending this house to anyone interested in exploring Provence from a beautiful house in a wonderful village.
4.8
Magical location and fabulous house
As you will have seen from other reviews this is a brilliant property in a magical little village, just a short drive away from many of the Luberon’s most scenic villages and features. And Beatrice was very easy to contact and always very helpful.
The house itself is very spacious with places to eat both inside and out. The kitchen is well appointed and full of all types of dishes and pans etc. The sitting room was again, very spacious.
We slept on the top floor so had to walk down a flight of stairs to visit the loo but this was not a problem for us. Especially as we had an amazing view to wake up to!
The only slight moan was about the very antiquated sink in the bathroom on the first floor. As this could be used by quite a number of people as they used the loo next to it, it could have been more modern.
But overall we had a super stay. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing!!!!
What a special village!!! I almost hate to tell anyone about this amazing home and village because I do not want it to become overrun with tourists! Five ladies decided to take a trip to the Provenance and found this wonderful home!!! We each had our own space that fit all our needs perfectly. The owner, Beatrice, is very charming and accommodating and has put special touches on a beautiful home. She made sure to give us lots of information on the area as this was our 1st time in Provenance. Goult is the most welcoming village and a very special place. Beatrice recommended a private Chef and he cooked the most amazing dinner. I celebrated my birthday while I was in Goult and it made it that much more special. We couldn’t have asked for more. The internet was spotty but who needs that when you are in a beautiful home and village. Beatrice, thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful home!

Beautiful property in the quaint and picturesque village of Goult in the heart of Provence
The property was perfect for three couples (retired) with spacious bedrooms and a comfortable and cozy living area. The kitchen was well equipped where we prepared our evening meals with all our spoils from local markets. We spent happy hour on the third floor terrace overlooking the hills of the Luberon. We found Goult to be a typical and charming village, not as crowded as neighboring Gordes and Roussillon, but still lively with smart little shops, a grocery store located two minutes from the house, a cheese shop and a butcher, and the Cafe de la Poste where many of the locals hang out. We spent a wonderful week in Goult and made daily excursions to nearby sights. We wish to thank Béatrice and Dany for making our stay in Goult the perfect Provençal holiday.
4.8
Wonderful home; wonderful location.
The Elia House is a gem. Comfortable living room and dining room with a very functional kitchen and four bedrooms and two WC’s. Each bedroom has a sink and most a shower so everyone has their own space. The terrace is a perfect place for sundowners and the pool looks very inviting. We were here in late March so were unable to use the pool and its deck and spaces.
The village of Goult is a well kept secret of the region boasting fabulous restaurants and a renowned cafe. As well as an epicerie, fromagerie, and a boulangerie all within a five minute walk.
Beatrice is a delight to deal with and she ensured our stay was perfect - and it was. Cannot wait to return.
Merci beaucoup!

Absolutely perfect! A magical Christmas, fabulous house in a village with soul.
Our family had an incredible stay. The owner Beatrice is warm, attentive, knowledgable and caring. She prepared the house for us at Christmas with so many special touches. The 3 story manor village house has been renovated with such care and inspiration. It functions really well and was a joy to live in for a month. Parking is on the street out front and always was available. Walk to the left around the corner and you reach the village Petanque courts then the bakery, hairdresser and Post office. Walk around the corner to the right and you reach the little friendly epicerie, cheese shop , butcher, the cafe, church and town square where the little farmers market happens each week. Within a 10 minute drive there are many other charming villages to visit. We had so many great adventures in this lovely area of vineyards, orchards and caves!
Thank you Beatrice for having us, what a wonderful memory. We 100% recommend this loved for house!

Spacious and graceful house located in a hidden gem of a village in the Luberon
Our stay in Beatrice's lovely home in Goult was a dream come true. The home is spacious, very comfortable for a family. We had another couple come to visit and there was more than enough room to accomodate everyone. This is truly a special home, with everything you would need to have a comfortable stay. Our trip was very special as it was a celebration of my mother's 85th birthday. Beatrice went over and above, helping secure a chef to prepare a special birthday meal, staging the house to have decorations ready, as we arrived on my mother's birthday, arranging to make sure the kitchen was stocked, as we didn't have time to shop, and checking on us to make sure our every need was met. She made us feel like family. As for Goult itself, this is a truly charming village, with everything one would need, a local shop, boucherie, fromagerie, boulangerie, all within a few blocks of the house. Lovely restaurants in the town, with the Cafe de Poste being the central meeting place for your morning expresso or a delicious lunch. All of Beatrice's tips on good places to eat and places to visit were so helpful. We traveled almost exclusively around the Luberon area and didn't even get to see it all during our two weeks, but know that must see places like Gordes and Rousillion are only 15 minutes away. There aren't dozens of tourists in the town of Goult, so you avoid the crowds from the more crowded tourist spots, while being able to get to them within a short drive. The countryside abounds with vineyards, local produce from markets held every day in different villages, and it is easy to sink into the laid back Provencal style of living. After touring around during the day, the house pool offered a lovely respite and is well maintained by Beatrice's pool man, who pays regular visits to clean and maintain it. Look through the photos on the site and you can see the incredible view from the terrace off of the master bedroom. We couldn't get enough of that breathtaking view, and at night, the stars are glorious. We felt truly lucky getting to stay here. We have stayed at many places, and we can truly say that we have never stayed at a place with a more gracious, generous and kind host as Beatrice. How we got so lucky, I don't know. But I do know we are very grateful.

Perfect location to explore the Luberon
We stayed at Maison Elia for a week in mid May, using it as a base to explore the area. The house was ideal: well appointed with plenty of space and providing both privacy on the lower terrace and also an incredible view from the top terrace. Goult itself suited my elderly parents perfectly, offering everything we needed while being more tranquil, less steep to explore and less visited than most of the other villages. Beatrice, the owner made the effort to speak to us by phone on arrival and departure and was keen to ensure our stay was a success.

A beautiful house in the heart of the village
We had a really wonderful week at Elia House - it's a beautiful old house, with lovely period features but a modern living space and kitchen that fits in really well. The bedrooms are all huge, as is the lounge area and the kitchen is very well equipped. The garden is an oasis with a big pool (albeit too chilly for us in April!). The village itself is known as the "secret" village of the Luberon - hidden from the main roads but an authentic and beautiful village, full of history but lived in all year round with its own boulangerie, fromagerie, boucherie and epicerie, as well as several excellent restaurants and homewares shops. It was fantastic walking just a few minutes to get a pastry and bread every morning. It's also a great base to explore the Luberon's charms. We arrived expecting to visit Arles, Nimes and Avignon but we found so much beauty and fascination in the local villages (loved Menerbes, Bonnieux, Roussillon at sunset, and Gordes) without needing to spend hours in the car. You will not regret choosing this house or the area! A special word for the owner, Beatrice, who was truly wonderful with her thoughtful suggestions, help and her responsiveness. An absolute pleasure to deal with and she ensured our holiday was entirely stress-free. We really hope to be back one day...

Amazing house in an amazing village!
My husband and I spent two incredible weeks at Beatrice's house in Goult. The first week we had a family reunion and the second a reunion with friends and their children. The house is large and beautifully decorated. Every bedroom as everything you need. There is a huge kitchen/dining area perfect for large gatherings and we spent many evenings sitting on the terrace overlooking the pool. The pool area is perfect with an adjoining area for BBQs and ping pong which provided much great entertainment. Danielle who manages the property lives across the street and couldn't have been more delightful and helpful - tears were shed when we had to say goodbye!
The house is situated on a quiet street in the heart of the beautiful village of Goult - walking distance to everything you need in the village. We made several trips to neighboring villages to explore the markets, however, Goult was by far our favorite village! It was a truly magical vacation and we hope very much to return one day.
Definitely giving this property and it's management team 5 stars!

Great place for a family holiday
We loved our stay here in Goult. Beatrice was a wonderful host and met us at the property and could not do enough to help us with any query or challenge we had. The whole house is great - typical French character and each bedroom is unique and cosy. The roof terrace is where we spent most of our evenings and such an added bonus to any holiday property. The kitchen and outdoor space is wonderful and we really felt like it was a home away from home. We would highly recommend to anyone!

Amazing
My family (3 children 6,8,9) and parents finished a wonderful trip to Europe staying in this beautiful villa back in June 2012. It was perfect in every possible way - gorgeous village, fantastic views, refreshing pool to relax while sipping the wine we purchased at nearby wineries. I have only positive memories of our time in Goult.

What a joy!
For many years I have dreamt of renting a villa in Provence. After convincing family members we set a date and researched the many beautiful areas before deciding on the gorgeous village of Goult. We chose the villa based on the amazing photos and the fact there was 5 bedrooms. When we arrived our jaws dropped. What an amazing property! We raced from room to room, they just kept getting better. Ingrid welcomed us and was gracious and warm, and we instantly felt at home. With 2 young children the outdoor area was bliss, complete with shower and toilet, and what they termed 'the cave' where we loved to relax at night. The villa was situated a short walk from the town, which was picture perfect and full of amazing restaurants. We became regulars at the wine shop, cafe and grocery store where everyone was so friendly. Each day we travelled to 2 or 3 villages in our area, each had their own feel and were amazing to explore, but we felt we had struck gold with Goult and loved returning at the end of a busy day. The villa and Goult exceeded all of our expectations, I cannot recommend this property enough. Pure bliss and we hope one day to return.
