About this cabin rental
This is a great secluded cabin in a gated community. The peacefulness of this mountain will bring serenity to even the busiest of those among us.
Stop in, enjoy a cup of Joe on the spacious porch in the morning and the coziness of a warm fire at night.
Our cabin is located within 25 minutes from the Nantahala Outdoor Center, the Appalachian Trail, Tsali Recreation Area and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We are also located less than 30 miles from Hwy 129, The Tail of the Dragon, motorcycle run.
Check out Bryson City's Numerous attractions:
Whitewater kayaking and rafting. World class mountain biking, Fly Fishing, The Appalachian Trail, Great Smoky Mountain Railway.
Truly, there is something for everyone!
The Cabin includes a master bedroom with king size bed downstairs, and a loft with 2 queen size beds. All the comforts of home and then some. There is a completely remodeled kitchen with all Stainless appliances, gas stove, dishwasher, and even a heated tiled floor to keep those barefoot toes warm in the morning. It is all topped off with Oronoko Granite from Brazil.
Newly updated bathroom with new washer and dryer, all tile with heated floors and 2 person MTI Jacuzzi!
In the living area you will enjoy the beauty and warmth of a wood burning stove, large screen TV, DVD player and 100s of movies to choose from. Brazilian Teak graces the floors for a beautiful warm feeling. Sit and Enjoy the "G" Scale train as it runs around the cabin and even through the walls.
A note about pricing: VRBO keeps saying I should raise my rates, especially during peak seasons, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, e.t.c.
It has always irritated me that hotels e.t.c. do that. So if I want to enjoy my family during the holidays, I have to pay a premium???
I'm sorry, I think that's just wrong, so why would I do that to my guest? Prices are the same EVERY DAY of the year. If you want a holiday, summer dates, e.t.c. just book early before someone else does, and enjoy your family at the regular prices.

Most beautiful scenery and the cabin was clean, stocked and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Very affordablle. Would definitely come back and stay again.

This was the perfect place for our weekend getaway, and my husband and I had the best time! Everything was just as described and pictured in the listing, was spic and span when we arrived, and had every convenience we would’ve needed or wanted. We’ll definitely be back!!

Everything was really nice and cozy....felt like home! The only downfall was the winding roads leading up to the cabin....especially in the dark after the fireworks. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great house, beautiful view. Host has house well-stacked with helpful kitchen accessories. Directions to home we're spot on. Overall great.

Well stocked Kitchen. Place was clean. Plenty of firewood available. Felt the springs in the bed while sleeping. Amazing view of the mountains. Our kids love the model train. Lots of games to play too.

This place was absolutely amazing! The pictures in no way do justice to the view from the front porch and master bedroom, and waking to silence but for the sound of birds and the small creek running beside the property, was priceless! We spent the bulk of our trip in our PJ's lounging on porch enjoying the view. The switch from fighting the commute into Charlotte every day to a fun, twisty, zero-traffic drive along the beautifully engineered NC mountain roads was the breath of (literal) fresh air that we desperately needed. We found the cabin to be immaculately clean and quite comfy/cozy. The heated tile floors in the kitchen and bath were a pleasant bonus! I read the other reviews and was nervous about the drive up due to one bad comment, but we scheduled our trip to arrive before nightfall and followed the owners directions with no issues. Good idea to arrive during the day on your first trip up so you can see where you're going, but once you know the lay of the land, it's really no problem. We would absolutely recommend staying here, and hope to return in the future!

The cabin had all of the amenities! Everything was updated and very clean.
Beautiful view for coffee on the deck.
They aren’t lying when they say remote. The host provides great directions.

It was amazing. So quite and peaceful. Like a little bit of Heaven here on Earth. Didnt want to leave.

The cabin was just as described, very cute inside, clean and comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom especially were very modern. But by far the view was the best part. Pictures don’t do it justice, it was amazing and worth the drive up from Florida. We’d stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks!

Great view. So quiet. Beautiful cabin. Hope you get to watch a thunderstorm go through, truly awesome. Going to try to rent it for the fall colors!

This is a very nice, clean place. We really enjoyed staying there, but the road to get there is scary. It has very steep climbs with very high drops and its one lane once you get to the gate. It is paved, but everytime we had to go or come from there, I was scared the whole way up or down the mountain. There is also no cell sevice for about 5 miles around until you get to the cabin

This home was just that, a true home in every sense of the word. It was warm and loving and quaint. We enjoyed the fire and the train around the rooms. This trip was just what my family needed and the home was perfect in every way. The owner was exceptionally responsive and welcoming. Can’t wait to return! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We had a great time. The cabin is so nice with so many high end extras. We loved the heated tile floors and the jetted tub. The view was beautiful! We enjoyed going on the Smokey Mountain railroad! It is quite a drive up to it but we loved the privacy and it was well worth it!

We loved the cabin. Very clean. My 3 year old grandson loved the train that ran in the cabin. I think he liked it more than the Polar Express. LOL. Only suggestion would be to upgrade the mattresses.

We had an awesome getaway! Cabin was clean, updated, secluded and had the most beautiful views! We will definitely be back, by far my most favorite cabin we’ve stayed in!

We had a quiet and pleasant stay for a couple of nights at this cabin. The toy train going around the walls of the house is the most unique feature of the house. The front porch opening up to uninterrupted view of mountains is the most beautiful part of this cabin. The kitchen appliances and bathroom amenities were modern and all new. The cabin was clean. No cellphone coverage but the wi-fi worked fine. As advised on the online description, rely on the youtube video for the driving directions . Google map does not work correctly once you start driving up the hill.

Just the place we were looking for! Off the beaten path, exceptional views, and a time to just chill and relax! Will definitely visit again! Thanks for sharing the get-a-way!

All the other great reviews of this property are accurate. The view is to die for, the driveway is a little sketchy if you don't know how to back down a steep hill. Pay attention to the driving directions you get sent because GPS doesn't send you to the right place.

The house was as advertised, well appointed and stocked with all the kitchen cookware you could want. Beds were firm but comfortable. WIFI was easy to access and fast. The view was great from the front porch and the area was quiet and very relaxing. Just what we all needed! On the negative side, the water had a "sulfur" smell to it, typical of off-grid sourced and treated water. Taste was fine but still recommend bringing some bottled water. That aside, would definitely stay again!

We will be going back again.

My family loved our stay at the Smoky Mountain Depot. Everything was as advertised. My wife and I loved sitting on the porch and enjoying the view. Our two kids (6 and 4) loved their lofted bedroom and Mark’s train.

If you REALLY want to get away from it all , Smokey Mountain Depot cannot be beat! The views are amazing. Everything was as shown on verbo listing. No issues whatsoever

Smokey Mountain Depot was the perfect stay for us and our four children. Pride of ownership of the host is evident in every detail. The kitchen is well equipped with top end appliances and everything needed in meal prep. The beds are comfortable and the cabin is clean to the details. We highly recommend considering this cabin for your stay! The view is stunning and ever changing!

We loved this house. The views are gorgeous. The road up the mountain to the house is very impressionable. Inside the house is well thought out with taste and appliances are first class. Fire pit in the evening is a must 🙂. Very secluded and perfect for family time together or even a couple get away. Very romantic. Definitely would recommend this place.

Smoky Mountain Depot was EXCELLENT. Extremely clean and very well stocked with a lot of extras! The views from the porch or even the couch were gorgeous. Marks cabin is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the unbelievable peacefulness of the mountains. It’s nice to stay some place where you feel at home and this is that place! Marks directions (and video) to the cabin we’re very helpful.

My wife and I stayed here celebrating our twentieth anniversary, we could not have picked a better place. It is so pretty and peaceful sitting on the front porch, drinking coffee and looking out. Cooking is something that my wife and I love to do together, the kitchen was well stocked with utilities, cookware, and spices which made cooking easy. The heated bathroom and kitchen floor were a nice surprise, and the jetted tub was wonderful to relax in. Mark was very responsive when there was a maintenance issue that arose in the cabin. The driveway is steep and skinny, we found that backing down it was much easier than backing up, as there is no place for turn around once you get down the drive. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The cabin was located in a wonderful location. The facilities were top notch. The views were great. The response from the host was prompt. I would recommend this cabin!

Excellent view, very private, cozy, well-appointed cabin. New kitchen/bath. The loft area is awesome! Great video selection! The wood stove is an awesome feature in the main room! Would recommend to anyone. Will stay again if we are in the area!

Cabin was large but very cozy with the woodburning stove. We enjoyed the large kitchen to cook and comfy couch. The best thing about the cabin other than the view, is the jetted tub. That was so relaxing! The climb up to the cabin is steep and winding but absolutely worth the view and the cabin.

The cabin's view is amazing. I just wish I had the view from the inside of the cabin too. You need to exit the cabin to enjoy the view. Other than that, we had an amazing time.

Our 7 yr old boys loved the train at the cabin. The cabin was very neat, clean and organized.
