We loved our stay. The house was wonderful for our family. Nice neighborhood, and close to everything. We saw wildlife everyday.

Clean home, with nice living areas and bedrooms. Perfect for our weekend ski trip. Close to Sugar Mountain and Boone.

We had a wonderful time!

The home was as described and we enjoyed the Creekside firepit the most. Very relaxing!

We enjoyed a weekend in this beautiful spot with a roaring creek behind the house and the setting in quiet woodsy neighborhood. The house is well equipped and comfortable, welcoming for children and pets. While it feels remote, it's an easy drive to Blowing Rock, Boone, and Banner Elk. Just note that the house has dampness with some odor and smells like there may have been smoking in the house at some point. Still, we loved our stay!

We wanted a place to meet for thanksgiving and it is exactly what we wanted and had everything we needed! It was a great week and we will definitely be coming back!

Nothing fancy, but warm, cozy and inviting. In fact, we returned to stay twice in October! Loved the fact that we were able to bring along the dogs. Few things to note: Bathooms are tight, space between toilets and bathtub. (And we're pretty small folks!) There are both a Keurig and auto drip coffee maker, (when I called Foscoe, rental agency, they said there wasn't a Keurig.) There's only a charcoal grill so bring your own charcoal. They have lighters there. Many games, were fun! Many windows are not operable, don't crank out. This last trip we didn't care, but one before, it was warm and would've liked fresh air as entire house, with exception of kitchen and bath, is WTW carpeting. For age of home, was in fine shape and pretty clean. We'll we back again!

We had a great weekend and really enjoyed the creek and the firepit! Thanks for sharing your home.

The carpet was very dirty. When I mentioned it to the Foscoe Realty rep she said the spring cleaning of the carpets has not yet happened. No apology, just that's the way it is. I also mentioned the somkey smell in the unit. She said all the houses with wood burning fireplaces smell like that. To bad, live with it.

The property was great. The check in process was somewhat confusing. Never received my check in email. First property was not up to standards. Called management and they were able to find us another property. Which was very accommodating.

We drove all the way from Miami to find peace and quiet in this beautiful cabin! Very clean, nice, homey, cuddly! The sound of the little river in the back was the cherry on top. Would definitely recommend 10/10. Thank you for the opportunity and for sharing your place!!!

We did a ski weekend at sugar mountain and had a fantastic time! The house was very clean and cozy and a perfect size for 8 people. They are not lying when they say only 4 wheel drive cars in the winter. Would definitely stay here again!

House was very clean and warn. Parking for 2 vehicles lovely creek in back. Had a tv in master bedroom and living room only but pictures on website showed tv's in each bedroom. We would stay here again

The property was clean, comfortable, and particularly covenient to Banner Elk (except for road construction along the route) and Boone. Shanty Creek itself was a highlight and made for wonderful sleeping to the sound of the creek rushing over the rocks right outside.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the location. The description was very accurate. The property is in good location and has a small stream and waterfall right behind the property you can hear at all times. The cabin could use the carpet cleaned down stairs was my only issue. Overall all we enjoyed our stay.

Our family enjoyed the permanent river sound tremendously; the children played in the river; we went on the profile trail twice; well return in the Fall.

Hard to find rentals that allow pets and I am so glad I found this place. Definitely bring a fan if you can as they do not have ceiling fans in any rooms. Gets pretty warm.
Being on the creek is very peaceful and the neighbors are so friendly.
Loved it

Perfect for our family of five. Close to town but remote and quiet too.

Wish we could have stayed longer and explored along the creek more. Great family time with the games in the house, tubing and skiing. Couldn't figure out the tv, but that may have been a good thing. Thank you!

We stayed for a week and loved it. I was impressed by the amount of stuff they had available - pots, pans, dish detergent, kitchen towels, extra bath towels, a down comforter & other blankets, mini toiletries, etc. The place stayed well-heated on a fairly low setting and was cozy and clean. It was close to Boone, the Blue Ridge, Blowing Rock, Linville, and more. We hiked a little of the profile trail; it was nice but had road noise. It was quiet and felt private, though there were other homes nearby, and it's not far very far from the road. That's mainly because of the creek, which was the best part. It's beautiful - rocky with little waterfalls. You can hear it in the house and easily walk down along it, into it,
and make a fire by it. They provided good seating; we brought firewood.
We also brought an 18mo old. This place is kid friendly in a lot of ways - they provided kid cups, plates, spoons, pack & play, and high chair. They also had gates at both ends of the steps. This didn't, however, entirely remove the danger for our kid, who kept trying to scale the gate/steps anyways. He'd never seen one before, as he'd never been around large rocks/uneven terrain (beach baby). The property is very uneven with many steps, large rocks, and few flat places. This is what you'd expect in the mountains (even seek out), but keep in mind it isn't best for a 18mo old only used to sandy flat land. Also, bring outlet covers if your kid needs them.

Comfortable home, close to Banner Elk and not too far from Boone. Beautiful mountain laurel in bloom out every window. The sound of the creek and mini waterfalls at night was very relaxing to me. We enjoyed the fire pit by the creek, making smores and talking. WiFi worked well, nice tv and selection of DVDs; and beds were comfortable.
The only negatives were the dampness in the house and difficulty opening/closing windows. It was cool enough at night with the windows open, but stayed a bit damp in the house. A toaster would also be a helpful addition to the kitchen but other than that it was nice.
Overall, we had a great visit to the area.

We had a great time. The house was very clean and the kitchen had everything that we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and we really felt at home. Unfortunately the leaves were covering everything and we couldn't find the outdoor firepit under all of the leaves to be able to use it. The leaves were covering the front porch and steps as well. It would have been nice to have the leaves blown prior to our arrival. We will probably stay again in the future, but I will be sure to ask about the leaves next time.

We really enjoyed our weekend here. We have 2 toddlers so greatly appreciated the high chair, pack n play, and baby gates. The kitchen was large and well equipped. The kids loved the large deck. They also loved running in circles on the ground floor, as the rooms all connect in a circle. The bedrooms upstairs were clean and comfortable as were the bathrooms. It was close to Tweetsie, which was the reason for our trip. It isn't far from the Children's Playhouse, which was our backup plan in case of rain.
The only thing that could have been a potential issue was that there was no air conditioning. This was not a problem for us. It was very cool in the evenings and we actually had to close a few windows to stay warm. I could see how it could possibly be uncomfortable if it were a very hot or very humid week there though.
All in all, fantastic time, fantastic house, fantastic location. We will be back!

We were very pleased with our stay here. The boys ,3&5, loved the creek that is literally right out the back door. The location of the cabin was great. It is located less than 15 minutes to Sugar Mountain, Hawksnest and Banner Elk. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the high country.

Sweet little cabin with a great location. Backyard is a huge bonus and added to our stay. Great place to get away and spend some quality time. Easy drive to Linville Falls, and Grandfather Mountain. Kids enjoyed the Trout Farm and grilling up what they caught. Comfortable beds!

The house is located on a beautiful stream and the landscape at the stream is very beautifil. If you go in the winter and there is snow you have to have a four wheel drive because it is steep but if you don't you can park at the top of the road which is only about a 30 yard walk so it wouldn't be to bad. Only one tv in the house needs three more for the bedrooms.
