Arawak Cottage was a wonderful home-base during our New Years trip. We arrived by 42' powerboat and had no issue tying up to the dock. The views from the porch are amazing, as are the views across the island from this properties private beach access.

Tim’s cottage is a quaint home providing dockage and all necessities for a low-key vacation. The cottage is in a quiet area of MOW is on the far end of the island away from the town center but walkable if you need to get provisions. The caretaker, Molly, was there to meet us and helped get us started with local food info. She checked in a couple times regarding the weather, which I appreciated, but gave us privacy the rest of the time. The island experiences brown outs almost daily, so if you need AC or power this may not be the place for you. We enjoyed the simplicity, and took advantage of unplugging. There is a small collection of books and games as well as flashlights to pass the time. The kitchen is well-stocked to cook meals, and there is a washer/dryer (bring your own washing soap or buy it at Russell’s convenience store). The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor shower too. Overall if you prefer stargazing and seeing sea turtles from your dock, over modern conveniences, then give this cottage a try, you may enjoy it as much as we did.

An authentic, quiet and rustic traditional Out Island Bahamian Cottage right on Eastern Harbor. If getting away from it all, getting back to a simpler time and place is what you seek look no farther. We loved laying on the dock at night and watching the Milky Way. Please note if you want a traditional mainland experience this is not the place for you. It was an absolute slice of heaven for us!

Perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.
As pilots we see a lot of Marriotts and Hiltons. To spend those four days at the property was a great change. And the price justified the boat we needed to rent to get there.

While still recovering from the damage caused by Hurricane Dorian, this cottage was a charming retreat after long days of boating. Conveniently located on MOW, we were about halfway between Green Turtle Cay and Little Harbor, both of which we easily accessible with an hour boat ride. MOW Cay has by far the best grocery store on the outer islands. Located directly on the southern side of the harbour, we were able to enjoy the peaceful water front as well as the private beach on the ocean side just a quick walk over the hill. The beach really was the most under marketed part of the whole place! It was private, beautiful, calm, and exactly what you dream of when you picture the Bahamas. The kitchen was small but perfect for our needs, and there was enough room for a family of four to relax (with a/c!) in the evenings. Overall, a rustic yet very charming, no fuss, basic cottage that allowed us to really get away from it all. And a huge thank you to the caretaker and his sister for answering all of our questions and even bringing us a grill (with charcoal and lighter fluid) so we could enjoy a nice steak. We will definitely be back!

If you want to get off of the grid you will love this place. The photos don't do it justice. The unit is very clean, the hardwoods in the cottage are smooth and have a great natural scent. The dock can accommodate a rather large boat (we had a 48' Hatteras docked the entire time). The coffee pot and Internet worked great which was our only real requirement.
It's a short walk into the area of Man O War where you are able to get groceries. There are a couple of isolated and beautiful beaches. Would and will certainly rent Tim's place again.

This was the BEST place we visited in the Bahamas. It was more than perfect for my family of 7, so much so it was hard to leave. The care takers and the residents of Man of War Key were most helpful and the friendliest around. I would recommend this beautiful place to anyone and everyone. Its a Must See! Can't wait until next year I will be back.

Stayed for a week this June. Fantastic location in the out islands of the Bahamas. The place is so well kept and quiet, it is the perfect getaway for anyone who requires peace and quiet, as well as those who want to explore. Lots to do in and on the water, which is right out your door! We rented a 18.5' open boat from Waterways Boat rentals on MOW and they were the best. So kind, picked us up in Marsh Harbor and started our rental immediately. I can't say enough about this beautiful place. The house, the island and the people. Be sure to get to Tilloo Bank for Shelling and Tahiti Beach for a nice stroll. WOW. Harbors Edge in Hopetown has REAL key lime pie, the best.

I stayed at this cottage two years ago and it was the perfect relaxing quiet vacation. If you aren't a boater you can walk down to the settlement to pick up some groceries or get a bite to eat, go to a gorgeous white sand beach and you can hop on the ferry and go to one of the other islands. If you're a boater then it's absolutely magnificent! The house was adorable and the deck over the water is the perfect place to just sit and read or watch the water and the boats in the harbor. A perfect vacation! Thank you for sharing this beautiful and unique place!

We honeymooned in this house 10 years ago this year. The house, the dock, the island, were spectacular. The hose is on the beach literally with the porch on stilts over the water. Your view from the bedroom is the boats on moorings right out front. The owner's helped us rent a boat to get around, a man o war skiff, which to date was one of my best boating experiences of my life. My wife and I had a great time. Quiet and peaceful. Warm days, and warm water. Everything you think of when you think of a vacation. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to get away to a slower pace and unwind.
We plan to return, and for sure will go back to Arawak Cottage.
