Location and charm
4.1
The location was exceptional, right on the beach - with beach access.
The walls are very thin and the rooms tiny. If you're looking for peace and quiet, I would not recommend this. If you are looking for a place to stumble back to at night's end, it works, and the other guests are likely doing the same.
4.1
Perfect location, updated room, excellent staff.
There’s nothing bad to say. I am grateful I wasn’t on the second floor of the Gables property; the stairs looked terrifying!
4.1
the lobby, porch and outdoor dining were very nice. the location was good too
our room was small and creaky. our door squeaked SO loudly and had large gaps around the door frame. I get that it is an old establishment but some WD40 would go a long way to ensuring a sound sleep for others on the floor. we could not come in or out without making a LOT of noise when our door opened or closed.
the staff was young and not terribly professional. for the price, I would have expected more upscale service. there seemed to be a lack of experience and poor customer service skills from a few.
coffee in the hall was a nice touch in the morning however our third floor service was ice cold and didn’t have all the supplies. everyone was going to the second floor! not a big deal but just an example of not quite getting what we were paying $$$ for.
4.1
No breakfast at the hotel but great options near by.
The coffee offered 8 - 11 am was nice but not that good. And the restaurant is not as good as it used to be. But, again, plenty of other places to eat.
4.1
We would have liked the restaurant/bar to have more hours. We found ourselves not being able to enjoy the beautiful view outside because we needed to go elsewhere for food & drinks. Firepits would have been a big plus as well!
4.1
location was excellent and staff was exceptional
not sure if it was by design but in need of paint job
4.1
Great location, nice hotel and pool, staff friendly
Room small on first floor by the front so hear the front door slam
4.1
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The gentleman that laid out beach chairs every morning pays great attention to detail and really welcomed every guest. So nice to see people really care about their work.
Wished breakfast was served. Would have also liked some sort of chair or bench to sit on. Small bench under the bathroom window would work.
4.1
The location can’t be beat, walking from the ferry to the hotel is a bonus. We were given an end room so we had ocean views and street views from our bedroom and bathroom. A comfortable bed and linens were lovely as were the complementary toiletries.
The room was advertised for nearly $600 a night but after taxes it was closer to 800. We attempted to open the bathroom window and the upper casing fell through to the lower so the opening at the top allowed heat and noise to come in all day as we were unable to close it and when turn down service came they did not notice and therefore did not fix it. Also the plastic chain to open and close the blinds broke when we tried to open the blinds. The sink is very inefficient as the shelf above it doesn’t allow you to bend over into the sink if you want to wash your face. There is nothing in the bathroom to set your toiletries on and therefore I had to set mine on a towel on the floor, super inconvenient. Lastly, management did not recognize that I am a member of your Lark Club and I later found out from a gal that sells her nuts to the hotel that that is what they give us a gift when customers arrive.
4.1
nice property. beautiful location
rooms are clean but very basic

The room was recently renovated and it’s finishes were great. Location is excellent and the room had ac, which is rare in BI hotels.

Location
The room was so small couldn’t even walk past the bed or open the door to get into the room.
4.1
the location was absolutely gorgeous. it had a small private beach with breath taking views.
The only thing I would recommend is that this property serve breakfast in the future. breakfast with this breath taking view would have been the cherry on top.
4.1
Amazing location and vibe. Beautifully re-done. Very hip!
Common areas not air conditioned, stairs very steep, not much staff
4.1
Loved having the beach and chairs right there.
TV Service was not good, kept buffering and couldn't get channels in
4.1
good location, pleasant ambience, clean.
very young staff with little to no hospitality experience strike the guest as somewhat unprofessional.
we made a couple requests that were forgotten by the staff despite reminder emails and confirmations.
front desk was unhelpful with reservations/ booking anything around the island (we wanted a boat ride and we’re told they had ‘no idea’ where
to direct us.
room layout in the gables is odd. very cramped with
insufficient closet space

Great location, views, and decor. Friendly staff.
Small room, but so cute!
4.1
location in town, close to restaurants, shops and ferry and directly on the beach was excellent. beautiful decor - very chic and welcoming. wonderful staff. beach chairs and towels provided for hotel guests.
room was small with no sitting area - just bed and bathroom; however we took advantage of the many common areas around the hotel for relaxing before bed - the chairs on the front porch were comfy for reading and people watching.
4.1
The location was perfect. The food and drinks were very good.
Staff could have been more friendly. Advertisement on the website did not live up to what was actually provided. Walls and decor look old and tattered. When you pay 800+ a night for a room you expect a bit more value.
4.1
The location was great. The pool was nice. The room was nice. Staff offered to help us with our bags when we arrived. They store bags if you arrive before your room is ready or want to stay on the island after checkout. Their bar has a great view of either the Old Harbor or the beach.
Our room safe didn't work and we asked 5 times if it could be fixed including right after we checked into the room. Although we did get tickets for free drinks (which we used), the safe was never fixed and we were never told why until we were leaving. The desk staff just told us that they would tell the manager.
4.1
excellent location right on the beach and close to ferry, short walk to center and multiple bars and restaurants made for a relaxing car free trip
room was a little chilly at night, the AC seems to run on its own schedule
4.1
I loved the location and the staff. They were all wonderful.
The rooms were good but a little small.
4.1
It was a nice location, but I have to admit I did not realize I was being placed in a small house up the street from the main one that is advertised.
The staff, I kept calling about an issue I was having and could not get it resolved until the night before I left
4.1
Outstanding location with comfortable rooms, good food, and lots of amenities.
Customer service was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Not a single smile, would cut you off in the hallways or deck, beach attendants would do their job half of the time and we’re usually just on their phones, lobby was less a lobby and more a boutique with no clear place for concierge. Mostly just made
to feel like we were in the way. You’d think it you’re spending $50 on a lobster roll and margarita, we’d at least exchange some pleasantries.
4.1
location! and cool vibe
rooms are soooooooo small!
