Parking good. Location away from tourist area good.good location. Clean hotel
Only one person working when checking in and she had to deal will problem person who could not pay, had customer on phone who wanted to make reservation so we had to wait 15 minutes to get our room . Was not a good impression first thing. Bed was way too firm.

The staff was so kind and easy to talk too! The property was clean. The beds were comfy! That’s a win!
People were loud late into the night…. But it’s vacation so no worries

It's very clean , comfy beds , short walk to the beach , the pool is great and has a diving board . It was really nice !
My room was by the corn hole game and people were playing at 1 am ,so it was kind of annoying .

Pool was warm and hospitality was great.
Parking spaces a bit tight.

Very clean, like the full size fridge and little kitchenette, loved the heated pool.
Rooms could be a little bigger and sofa was terribly uncomfortable.

Our stay was somewhat last minute and our budget very tight. Some negative reviews almost discouraged us from selecting, but we booked anyway because of the positives. VERY Glad we did. Although the room IS a bit "dated" in decor, it was comfortable, clean and VERY Efficient for our needs. We were on a budget - having a kitchen was a blessing! We fixed our own brunches, then headed out for the day.
We were on the first floor, near the pool. Sitting out in our little seating area was lovely to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee on the chilly mornings of October. It was so peaceful at that time. And the ocean breeze very refreshing.
You have to accept that you are NOT booking the Ritz Carlton, but a nice comfortable motel. We would stay again - and might choose it over staying with family on our next visit to NJ! LOL
Parking - it was a BIG challenge - somehow one night, we almost couldn't find a spot. Felt badly that we took someone else's when they backed out and left for a bit. But we were done for the night. There is VERY limited parking and it is VERY TIGHT for larger vehicles. We have a basic cross-over mid-sized SUV. And it was difficult getting in and out unless parked between two cars. LOL I can't imagine if we were still driving one of our older, larder SUVs! So pick-up trucks and lg SUVs, be aware of the tight fit.
Oh, I do wish the television in the Bedroom was a bit bigger. We are all used to ones just a touch larger and it was pretty small.
To me the parking is a big deal, but with all the hotels in that area packed so tightly, IDK what can be done about that and still accommodate all the guests. The TV is a minor thing, but would be a nice plus.
OH! Seating area in front of the room is not very private, but still is very nice to enjoy. Especially on the chilly mornings with a hot cup of coffee.

Location
Living room furniture wasn't big enough. Living room decor needed sprucing up a bit.

The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The pool was heated and open till 10 pm. Most hotels in the area close the pools early (i.e. 7pm). It was nice to spend the day out, have dinner, and then go for a swim. The gym was nice but the sauna was not working. The hotel also has free mini-golf and ping pong.
Convenient location to the boardwalk and beach. We Uber-ed to restaurants in Wildwood which was about $11 -$13 each way. Glad we stayed in Wildwood Crest as it was more family oriented and quieter. We will definitely stay at Shalimar again.

I liked the proximity to the beach
The floor, both the linoleum and the carpeted floors were dirty. Walking barefoot was not possible. The refrigerator froze all of our food by the third day. In addition, when I checked my bill at the end of my stay, there were strange taxes listed a few times.

The pool and the balcony

The room with full kitchenette was rather useful for our family. Full size fridge made it easy to store larger items.
Beds were on the firmer side. Overall feel of the room was dated.
4.1
Pool was nice, I didn't use BBQ's but they were nice and there were 3 of them.
Remove the dirty carpets, totally gross. The bedding needs to be better, or actually changed. The blankets we had were foam blankets, I have never seen anything like that. Also, the towels felt horrible, and felt unclean. The place looks very nice, but I wanted to go home after 3 days on a 5 day vacation.

The hotel was ok a little small .
The pool was good it was a heated pool.
I like that it was close to the beach and there was a lot of restaurant near by
The bathroom was small
I didn't like that they placed clean towels on the back of the toilet. Yuk They could've installed a back of toilet vanity for storage. I did not like that the beds had plastic under the already thined sheets.
Take your own blanks and sheets what they have is thin and not Comfortable.
No iron in room you need to ask front desk to borrow.
My room was suppose to have a kitchen but it was only a fridge and microwave

The location…it was a block, not even, from the beach.
Found hairs all over the beds and towels. When we came back from the beach our room door was left open for hours from the maid. Thank god nothing was taken and we didn’t leave wallets in there. Also the beds were horrendous. The mini fridge took a full day to chill our drinks.
4.1
The room was clean. The staff and guests were really nice.
The beds and pillows were terrible. Bring your own pillows and your own mattress topper, I'd you have one. Also, the bathroom towels are basically the size of hand towels.

My husband and I met at the Shalimar on the 4th of July 1969! We have been married for 52 years and have been back many times. Everyone is so very pleasant. The location is perfect.
The parking.....The only semi negative thing would be the parking. We tend to stay out late and are usually the last ones in. I doubt that there is anything that can be done regarding additional parking spaces, but, it would be great if there was a solution. This would not keep us from staying at the Shalimar! We will be back!

I’ve been coming to this hotel since I was 13 years old, I am now 23. Every year it was good until 2020. I thought I’d give it another chance since the pandemic died down hoping it’d be cleaner but it was horrible. Shower was dirty, chair was dirty, there was a broken light fixture, paint peeling on bathroom walls, mold on the ceiling that looked like they tried to paint over it. The sad part is I brought my friends here for the first time… an embarrassment. What’s even worse is the staff was more worried about us partying and were rude about having 23 year olds there. I even brought my mom because no one under the age of 25 is allowed. Why would I party at a family hotel that I spent my summers at let alone a dirty one?? So disappointing and will not be returning.

Location is good
Everything in room is old, like 25 -30 years old. Beds are average at best. Price does not reflect what you get at all.

The location to the beach was awesome
The eyesore of the hotel under construction across the street.
4.1
The Pool and Location to the Beach
Bedroom was tight. Zero Closet space, but when you add a Kitchenette in a motel room, you’re going to sacrifice somewhere.
