The home is in the cultural center of the city, 5 minutes to downtown, 5 minutes to the hot Alberta Arts District, and 5 minutes to the equally trendy Mississippi street restaurants, cafes and bars.

You'll enjoy a very spacious, renovated, 1st floor apartment, with living room, dining room, kitchen, one bathroom and two bedrooms with king beds, plus a bonus side room with daybed. Please note, that while this is a generously sized apartment on the 1st level of a historic home, there is a strict 5 guest maximum, and parties are strictly prohibited. An extra guest fee of $20 per night is added for each guest beyond the first two. The price is automatically added when you indicate the number of travelers in the search.

Additional Guest Fee: Please note that there is a $20 nightly fee per guest after the first two guests.
Parking:
Free parking is available on the street in front of the house. There is a 2-car limit for guests staying the night.

There is a motion-activated security camera on the front porch directed toward the sidewalk which can record audio/visual. The field of view is limited to a small section of the front porch and out toward the street.
The Irvington neighborhood:
Our location provides the best of both worlds. We are uniquely situated very close to downtown and hip east side neighborhoods, while also being tucked away on a quiet residential street next to a park. Our neighborhood, Irvington, is an upscale, historic, architecturally splendid area, great for quiet walks or for getting downtown in a heartbeat.

A perfect spot in the heart of the city that has everything that you would need… Comfortable and beautiful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This is a beautiful property. It is located in a quiet neighborhood within walking or short driving distance to a market and restaurants. The home is a designer’s delight with attractive and interesting pieces throughout. My favorite amenities were the fresh flowers in nearly every room as well as a lovely bottle of wine and chocolate left by the amazing hosts on the dining room table. I will definitely be staying here again.

We enjoyed our stay on the main level of this beautiful home for a weekend getaway with the girls. Our space was comfortable and clean, offering all the amenities we needed. Parking and check-in were simple, and communication with the owner was quick and easy. We took an evening walk through their peaceful, historic neighborhood to a nearby restaurant and returned to sit on the front porch to enjoy the mild late summer night air.

When we walked into the house, we thought, "WOW, this is where we get to stay for the night?!" The pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful home. Super comfortable beds. Great neighborhood for walking around (including walking distance to food). This was an amazing stay for the night. We met the owner outside the home the next morning while we were packing up... friendly, lovely person. Definitely recommend!

This is an old style home. Lovely design, built-ins, design features not found in newer homes. It’s well taken care of and comfortable. There’s a light scent of wood. Very roomy. There’s also a comfy seating area with a table on the front porch. The owners live upstairs and are friendly and helpful.
The outside area has lots of foilage. The nearby park is a great walk. There’s a Whole Foods nearby. A 15 minute easy walk or a 5 minute drive.
I had a short but comfortable stay.

We (i.e., me, my wife, my sister and her husband) stayed at this property during our week-long visit to Portland in mid-May 2024. This house was just lovely and very spacious for the four of us. The interior of the house has beautiful Craftsman-style woodwork throughout. It's also in a great residential neighborhood with easy access to all Portland has to offer. The owners live on the second floor, but we rarely saw or heard them. We felt like we were alone in our own little home. Nicely decorated with all the amenities you need. We are veterans of several VRBO stays, and we highly recommend this property!

This property felt like we were staying in our own home. The style and attention to detail as well as how well appointed it was with everything you might need for a home away from home. Beautiful, elegant and comfortable. So spacious! Loved it!!! Thank you Jim and Susan.

Overall the place matched the listing description. Water pressure was decent and didn't run out of hot water. They didn't make us strip the beds or take out the trash, which was nice. Owner was friendly and responsive with communications. This probably isn't normally the case, but they were doing some kind of work upstairs, so there was quite a bit of noise during the day, but nights were very quiet and we slept well. There were many amenities like extra blankets and toiletries, plus they left us a bottle of wine & chocolate bar. Streaming TV was easy to sign in/use. The neighborhood was quiet and easy to access many places by car. No problem finding street parking.

It was a pleasure being a guest at this beautiful craftsman home. On a quiet street, just two blocks to a lovely park - our family had a wonderful time in springtime Portland. Comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. We would love to return.

What a beautiful home. We enjoyed every minute of staying in this house, it was a shame we went out to eat and wanted to explore Portland! Every room has impeccable ambiance and styling. Communication was great, and we thought it would be weird with the owners upstairs but we didn't really notice them at all.

Friends and I came down to Portland for a little day trip. Susan and Jim made check in and check out a breeze. We all raved about how clean it was and kept finding new details and charm to admire throughout our stay. We all woke up very well rested (which is a rare occasion for all of us) and it was a nice surprise.
The Irvington area is very walkable, not to mention all the quaint homes and landscaping you pass as you're heading downtown. The park down the street is great for walking off those big meals from the city.

We came to visit our family and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the house as just the two of us but were also able to host a dinner for a few family members as well. The house is beautiful in every way.

This is a beautiful space, warmly + colorfully decorated. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen is well-equipped; the location is perfect, in a quiet residential neighborhood very close to many appealing shops + restaurants (including a Salt + Straw!). The hosts haven't missed a detail, from the handwritten note and goodies that greeted us upon arrival to the maps + other touring information right inside the front door. Check out couldn't have been easier; we didn't even have to wash the dishes. We can't recommend this property highly enough!

The apartment offers lots of space for a family. Very nice residental neighbourhood. The apartment was very clean and had a very welcoming personal touch. A big blooming brush in front of the Lorch with purple flowers which turn blue when falling off could be right out of a fairy tale. Check-in and out were super easy. We stayed for 2 nights. If you stay longer with a family you should be aware that there is no dishwasher or washer for clothing (you can find the info also clearly written in the description online). Overall it is an extraordinary apartment and we would love to come back and stay again.

It was such a delight to stay here while we were in Portland. The place was even better than we anticipated — beautifully decorated, super spacious even for four of us, very clean, extra comfy, and the neighborhood is centrally located and nice for walking around. We arrived to find wine and chocolate and a card greeting us too! Would absolutely stay again the next time we’re in Portland.

We had a great stay. The home was clean and spacious. Considering there is a family upstairs, it was fairly quiet all the time. Parking was easy, we always found a spot right in front. We made breakfast every day but realized that cooking dinner would be difficult with the minimal pots and pans so we ate out, which ended being a better choice. We would definitely come back!

We couldn’t have asked for a cleaner, more comfortable property than the Irvington house. Just wish we had better weather during our stay. The house was very cozy with big beds and plenty of kitchen supplies for our stay. The neighborhood was charming with some walkable restaurants nearby for morning coffee and dinner (amazing Thai food a block away). No problems with communication with our hosts and the fresh flowers, wine and chocolate were a welcoming touch. One of the best VRBO properties I have stayed in- and I have booked many in many different Western cities. Thanks to our hosts!

This home is a dream and located in a beautiful and quiet are of Portland. Everything you need for a perfect stay was in the home and in the neighborhood! I was there to celebrate my 50th and the owners were so kind as to leave me a hand-made card and bottle of wine! It's the little things that make a difference! So kind! The home was so beautiful inside, I didn't want to leave. We had coffee in the morning on the amazing front porch/patio. We played tennis in the mornings at the park down the street. Rackets and balls were provided! And we walked to get coffee and experience the neighborhood. Delicious food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner we a short walk away. I want to come back in the Spring and stay here again! The host really know how to make their home a most wonderful experience. We slept like babies in the comfy beds! A great night's sleep is so important.
I can't say enough about this gem of a place!
