As if the having the ocean right outside your Fort Bragg getaway wasn't perfect enough, there's even enough space to bring your entire family! This 3,200 square foot beach house sits perched on MacKerricher State Park among dunes and protected nature. It's the perfect site for your next big family reunion or any getaway for everyone! Dogs are also allowed for a small nightly fee.
About four and a half miles north of Fort Bragg proper, this home is in the quiet village of Cleone, giving you easy access to Highway 1 as well as the seclusion you seek in a vacation. Both Lake Cleone, for a serene stroll, and the Purple Rose Mexican Restaurant and Cantina for homestyle food, are a short walk away from your front door. Right outside your getaway are the MacKerricher dunes and trails, a perfect place for a headland hike and a picnic. You can also visit fun and funky Fort Bragg for brunch and a stroll around local boutiques or come for dinner.
As you approach this oceanfront Fort Bragg home, you'll be welcomed by the sea fog and a rustic but well-maintained facade. Greet the rest of your party from one of the two decks as they trickle in. On a clear night, take out the provided telescope and see what you can spy.
On the bottom half of this home, you'll have a spacious den to convene and make plans for the trip (with help from the provided WiFi). Take a moment to write out postcards or record moments in your journal at the desk or watch the big game together on the cable-equipped TV before the new sofa and comfy armchair. Play cards or a board game at the four-seat table before the wall of windows - or you can simply gaze out at the spectacular view beckoning you to comb for pebbles in the sand.
This den also doubles as a room for children to have a sleepover on the sofabed. Two more bedrooms are available on this floor, each with memory foam queen beds.
Upstairs is the living room with brand new furnishings, kitchen, and more bedrooms. The living room has a second TV and sofabed - a perfect room for close friends to have an old-school sleepover if they want! Of course, this space also has huge windows with panoramic views of the ocean.
Make popcorn or even a Sunday dinner around the solid wood table in the fully stocked kitchen. Complete with all new stainless steel appliances, this kitchen provides all that you need. Pop a bottle of local wine to share on the upper deck while the kids play freely on the sprawling yard below.
This property is solar-powered and has a generator, so if the rest of the town is without power, this home will still have electricity and be nice and toasty!
If you've never explored the area, take a mini road trip down the coast for a day trip to Mendocino and Albion, the latter about 20 miles from the home. Since Fort Bragg is definitely the biggest town on the northern coast, you'll have the pleasure of finding little, hidden gems in the smaller towns you find along the drive. Nature walks and farm stands dot the area for a true California experience you can't get in the big cities.
You can't beat the location of this Northern California Coast vacation rental! Come see for yourself how beautiful the area is from your own private getaway!
This home is solar-powered, and it has a backup generator that supplies electricity to the home if the area experiences a power failure.
If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The location of this house is outstanding! Set way back on the lot, you can only see two other houses and they are hundreds of yards away. Two story with a wrap around porch up stairs with plenty of seating for the amazing views. Has an automatic gate on the driveway off the road which makes it very secure. If I need a house that sleeps 12 again I’ll surely be back.

Beautiful house and location. Very clean and comfortable.

Great location and view: pretty complete kitchen and sleeping accommodations: property is in need of exterior maintenance and cleaning.

The view of the ocean and the dunes and the big wrap around deck!

Beautiful location in the dunes near the ocean. Large, comfortable home. Would stay here again. This would be a great place for a large family.
4.7
The property is gated and private even though it's in a neighborhood. The beach lóoks very close but it's a hike get there. Beautiful views and welcoming vibes. We had a plenty of room for our party of 11.

Wonderful views and very private. This place is a hidden gem. Some repairs need to made to the property but overall plan to return.

Wonderful home and views. I will be back!

We recently had the pleasure of renting a stunning coastal house for a family vacation, and I cannot express enough how perfect our stay was! From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of the breathtaking ocean view that greeted us. The house was impeccably clean and exceptionally well-stocked with everything we could possibly need, making our stay incredibly comfortable.
Traveling with a family of seven can sometimes be challenging, but this spacious home accommodated us with ease. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The attention to detail in maintaining the house was evident, and we appreciated how everything was in perfect order. Having rented more than ten homes in this area over the years, I can confidently say that this was by far the best. The combination of a beautiful location, a well-maintained and stocked home, and exceptional service made this a trip to remember. We look forward to returning to this gem of a home for many more family vacations in the future!

Private and quiet. Very nice layout upstairs and down stairs. Very clean and comfortable.

The house was very nice. Kitchen well equipped. But the dishwasher did not work. It was dirty inside it and dishes put away in cabinet also has stuck on food. Called in problem. They sent someone who did nothing. Second call and handyman came and pronounced it broken But this guy fixed the toilet which the first guy broke during his repair try. On leaving we mentioned to the cleaners that dishwasher was broken and they said this has Been an Ongoing Problem. The staff ignored this. Also there were several light fixtures which had burned out bulbs with no replacement available
The location is great. The space is great. But someone needs to take care of it better.

Beautiful private property with a coastal vibe. Views are breathtaking!

Hard to believe anywhere else could beat the spectacular views of the coast from here. No real close neighbors, very quiet. Comfortable and plentiful bedding as well as towels for the bathrooms and the hot tub. So much room upstairs and down for a large group. There are some quirks that can be attributed to the age of the place and the need for a bit of tlc.
The only real disappointment we had is that twice during our stay pickup trucks came on to the property through the gate (locked by a gate code) without any notice. One was a roofing company truck that pulled in, turned around in the driveway and just left without a word. On another day, a pickup showed up with a man who said he was there to "fix the refrigerator." The refrigerator was working just fine. We had children with us and felt very uncomfortable with these unannounced visits. We reached out to Vacasa, who manages this property, without a single response still, even as I write this the day after our 1/2 week stay.

Older home in a great location. The view is amazing!! Lots of room for the whole family, 12 of us. There were dirty clothes left from the people before us which was not great. The railings on the stairs were wide enough for the kids to fit through, but we improvised and blocked them. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.

The view is breathtaking. The ocean dips were revitalizing. The family stay will long be remembered as a glorious time

Secluded, quiet, expansive views from main rooms..the ocean views are the finest

The view was the saving grace of this property. The house is old and in disrepair. Everything about this property screams outdated. At least the beds were comfortable. The hot tub was unusable, due to the lack of any lighting to or from the house. I guess it’s just for daytime? The pots and pans have been there since the 70’s. There was a steam shower that you couldn’t use and a propane stove you couldn’t use, guess they are afraid of burning the house down, a valid concern as the outside is old and crumbling, this home has a lovely property and the view but, the owners are not putting in a penny to make it what it could be. If you have a large group and want a property with a stunning view and, don’t care about anything else then, this is the place for you. It’s big! And close to Mackerricher state park and walking trail.

the views from all directions were amazing even in the rain.

We had a wonderful time. Huge fenced yard for the dogs, lots of privacy, gorgeous ocean views, wonderful trails to explore, and a large house so we all could spread out! The kitchen was well equipped so that it was easy to prepare meals.

We had an awesome time at this lovely home. So close to walking and biking as well as beautiful beach access.

This house was absolutely gorgeous! We loved the view and really enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked. We loved our stay!

The views and location to the ocean were perfect. The house needed some repairs. Ceiling fan near kitchen was too wobbly to use. Trash can in kitchen was broken as well as the two crispers in the fridge that were not original. Chairs shown in the picture around the table were missing 3 and replaced with a bench. Chairs left were a bit wobbly too. Carpet was really dirty in some places. Dishwasher upper rack could not be pulled out more than needed without holding it in place. Living room was comfortable but the windows were dirty as were most blinds. The views and quiet location were a 10. It just needs some updating and attention. Did not stay downstairs but another couple did and they had no complaints regarding the area down there.

Amazing home, great location. House was well equipped, kitchen had everything to put out awesome meals.Beach was perfect, safe fun easy access. Tide pools were so close, had a blast with the grandkids! Hot tub is in the prefect spot. Upstairs deck had great furniture to relax and enjoy the views. We will be back!

We had a group of 8, 6 adults and 2 children 3.5 and 5 and 3 dogs. We adults were two older women, our adult children and their kids.
As we drove into the property, which is gated and has a long driveway up a small hill, there were deer grazing in the small green area. Nice start! The house itself looks as pictured. It has ample parking for 3 large vehicles - no yard space for games though but I knew that ahead of time.
There are 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the main, bottom floor; we didn't spend much time down there.Worked out well to have the family with kids down there so we adults could stay up and make noise on the second level. The second level has kitchen, LR, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a fabulous deck that stretches along the entire house. You can access it from a sliding door off one of the bedrooms and from the main room.
The house itself was plenty big so weren't on top of each other. My only criticism is that it gets warm upstairs and there are only 2 small windows that open and one was broken so we couldn't get a cross breeze. There are ceiling fans which we cranked but didn't help a lot.
The location is very nice - you can walk to the beach through some dunes, maybe 5-8 minute walk, but when we were there the beach access nearest the house was closed off for plant restoration so we had to walk further down. Not a big deal but just FYI. You can also drive as the beach access and parking are at the end of the street where the house is located.

Such a great location! And each room had its own bath and shower. The only thing I would add to it is a BBQ for steaks and other stuff outside. The grill they have is wonderful but it’s a flat iron, just a plane old BBQ would be a nice addition.
4.7
We loved the location and size of the home! Views were incredible. Very cozy!
4.7
The home is wonderful. The views from the living area and master bedroom were stunning. We loved seeing the deer and birds every morning. This house is perfect for large multi-family groups. There were 9 of us and 4 dogs and we never felt cramped. The house has the comforts you want but is not so fancy that you are worried you will break something. The beach is a 5 minute walk through the preserve. We will be returning!
4.7
Great views and privacy!
4.7
The home was great for our group of six. The view was amazing! We enjoyed being together, walking the beach, visiting the towns, and playing games. The bedrooms and bathrooms were nice and comfortable. The hot tub was clean and hot. There were some areas that need attention as it relates to maintenance and repairs. Dining room chairs, garbage disposal, screen doors, etc. Best of all, was the short walk to the beach!
4.7
Location. Roominess. Upkeep good
4.7
The size of the house was very good for needs. The 3 couples at night had their own bathroom. The kitchen was very will equipped with dishes, cooking vessels, bowls and spices. The house was clean. The views were better than shown in the pictures. We used the main upstairs room for all of our time together and it was very adequate for 8 adults. We could have done 9 but it was probably a little small for 10 adults.
4.7
Private location where you can hear the waves at night. Hot tub with a view of the ocean doesn’t hurt either.
I would have give 5 stars except for some rooms get way hotter than others at night.
4.7
What a beautiful home and PHENOMENAL location! Open space, sea views, privacy, what more could we ask for? This house is a wonderful place to reconnect with loved ones in a cozy living room, cook in the spacious kitchen and rest in comfy beds. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We will be back soon!
4.7
Beautiful spot with incredible views from both floors. The decor is a little dumpy -- definitely feels like a full-time rental -- but the space and views make up for it. The kitchen is well stocked, but they didn't leave enough linens for the extra beds, or enough towels for the full 12 guests, and bathrooms were poorly stocked.
4.7
The environment, the view, the peacefulness, the beach. The house was not luxurious or pretentious, but warm and comfortable; well appointed and with good amenities. Kitchen was beautifully stocked to prepare large meals. Everything was clean upon arrival.
We hope we get to return to this wonderful gem of a place.
4.7
Our family had a wonderful time at this home. The location, the views, the stars, the hot tub, the access to the beach were all amazing. Communication with the host was easy and timely too! And the home has plenty of indoor and outdoor living space - the open floor plan (kitchen, living and dining rooms) made meal and family game time easy and fun. Thank you for a great stay.

Everything.
