About this house rental
Come spend a lazy weekend or longer here at our cottage-style home on Lake Sammamish in Bellevue, WA. Note that we also have 2 homes in Sammamish with terrific water views and decks so check them out if this home is booked during your preferred dates. This property ID is 248154 in Bellevue and the Sammamish property ID's are 608040 and 428004. We also have a 4 Br home in Issaquah geared toward longer term rentals. And in case you are traveling, we have a 1 bedroom place in Girdwood, Alaska, a 3 bedroom home in Kihei, Maui along with a 2 bedroom condo right in the village at Whistler, BC Canada-- and we rent them all! Some have long term guests who stay 3 to 6 months or more so just ask about them and we'll let you know.
THIS waterfront cottage style home is located in a wooded setting on a rectangular lot that spans a long sloping hill overlooking our private lakefront. You don't have to cross the street but you do have to walk down our paved driveway to get there-- sturdy knees required! The home offers a commanding view of the lake that gives you terrific sunrises and sunsets and makes you feel you are nested in your own private retreat!
This 2,400 sf home opens to a great room with floor-to-ceiling windows and there are views from nearly every window. Lounge inside in front of the fireplace on a rainy/wintery day, relax on the deck lounger or fix a BBQ dinner in our large gas grill. The living room has plenty of seating for chatting, games, watching TV. The family room has a desk, large reading chair and sofa as a 2nd gathering area. The kitchen is open to the dining room and the table has an extension for larger meals. We have 3 bedrooms with queen beds and 2 of these bedrooms have have adjoining bathrooms. The bathrooms are small- one has a tub/shower and the other 2 have showers only.
One is upstairs, one is on the main entry level. The 3rd queen bedroom is upstairs and also has a trundle bed that opens to offer 2 additional twin mattresses best suited for teens. On the main entry level floor, we also have 1 full sofa-bed with a 4" memory foam mattress and our extra wide reading chair pulls out to create twin bed. Portacrib and high chair upon request. Please note that stairs are open backed and oriented in a way that makes them difficult to block off to kids. There is a step up to the kitchen and a step down to the family room. The deck overhangs our hillside and the yard is not fenced. Most kids are fine but you have to watch them closely. The parking area is packed gravel and there is room for 2 cars. There is room for 1 car at the waterfront if you pull up close to the hedge.
Swim, fish, kayak or just hangout at our waterfront area just below the house. Otters, Blue Heron and Eagles are frequently seen by our guests. You can swim off our dock--there is a swim ladder at the end. We co-own the dock with our neighbor and they use the south side of the dock where they have a boat lift. We offer the north side of the dock for our guests' use. The end of the dock must remain open for loading. The waterfront area is fenced and our guests are welcome to hang out there-- we have a level deck and grassy area, dining table and lounge chairs. We also have a double kayak for your use. More kayaks available in summer from Issaquah Paddle Club at the south end of Lake Samm. Note, we do not have a sandy beach that you can walk into. Our land sits above the lake a few feet. But there is sandy beach and kid playground at Idylwood Park just 1 mile north of us. Weona Park and Sunrise Park are 2 trailheads right off W. Lake Sammamish Parkway where you can walk in the woods real close to the house. Marymoor Dog Park offers 50 acres of off-leash woods & trails within an easy 5 minute drive.
Located 25 minutes drive from Seatac Aiport and 7 mins. from Microsoft. Central location on the eastside is less than 15 mins. from Issaquah, Redmond or core downtown Bellevue -- and just a little over 20 mins. to Seattle. Easy access to either Hwy I90, Hwy 520 or Hwy 405 in minutes. Costco, Fred Meyer and QFC grocery are all within 10 minutes drive.

We enjoyed our stay here. Kitchen was well stocked and all the rooms had an A/C unit. The driveway is tricky so be careful. We both dented our rental cars. Lisa was easy to talk to. Two of the three bedrooms are lofts.

This place was the perfect place for our Arizona and New Mexico family to come together and visit with our elderly father who lives in Bellevue and our family on Mercer Island. Great location, peaceful, beautiful views, comfy beds, cozy, yet room for privacy. My sister, brother, their spouses and I loved our stay! Thank you!

Great house that is as described in listing and pictures. Great view of the lake with a nice lake side area at bottom of the driveway. The driveway is very steep and can be difficult to get in and out of the parking area next to the house. House was very clean and well maintained. Highly recommend.

House is beautiful and well equipped. We had plenty of space and sleeping arrangements for teens/adults. We cooked most meals at the house and every kitchen utensils were present! The views from the home of the lake were incredible. The dock is a short walk down a very steep driveway, well worth it! The house was a special place to stay and the lake was amazing .

We absolutely loved staying. The view is stunning. The house is comfortable and spacious. We had family visit one day and there was plenty of room for kids and adults. The only thing I wish was different was the driveway (and there is nothing the owner can do about that). Speaking of the owner, I had a chance to meet Lisa. She is lovely and when above and beyond to accommodate our needs. She is truly a wonderful host and professional property manager! I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed or stay in this house immensely. We went to the house first to see what type of household items we would need to purchase. To our great surprise, the house was stocked with everything we needed.
The house is located on Lake Sammamish and central for our travels. Would definitely recommend and will stay again the next time we are visiting from Missouri.

The host was amazing and very helpful when we needed it. Beautiful views of the lake. The house was very clean, well stocked with extras as a fondue pot with chocolates, The house has 2 living rooms and two bedrooms on opposite sides plus a main floor BR. Beautifully decorated. We loved our stay here.

Our family (4 teens, 2 adults) stayed here in December as a home base for exploring Seattle and surrounding areas. It was absolutely wonderful in so many ways. The home itself is delightful! Stunning lake views from most rooms as well as a huge balcony, all needed amenities, lots of room to gather and spread out. It’s an older home, but this added to the charm. The dock is an added bonus that we probably would have used more in summer but was still fun to have. The only difficulty is the very steep driveway/parking spot but once you’ve done it a few times, you get the hang of it. Lisa was very easy to communicate with and graciously allowed us a late check out. The location was easy to access DT Seattle, ferries, university village, and some hiking. Overall a wonderful, relaxing stay!

If you are into an older home with some style and quirkiness like we are, you'll love it here. Fun layout including 2 loft rooms 2 living rooms and great deck overlooking the lake. The driveway is a steep, turning, paved snake that will test your skills if you have more than a Prius! Once you've tamed that a couple times, it's all good! Gave 4 stars due to driveway access and could use some fabric cleaning on furniture. Would certainly book again!

Perfect home for our stay! It was clean, well stocked, and the perfect layout for the three of us to have time together and space to be alone. What a beautiful view of the sunrise each morning. Great find! Thank you Lisa!

We enjoyed ourselves immensely.

We had a challenge to find a great place to stay with 5 teens and 3 adults coming at various times. This house had a perfect amount of bedrooms and sleeping options for our group. The kitchen had a lot of options for cooking. (made me with I had some thing for the crab pot!) The view was incredible and we all had fun swimming in the lake and watching the eagles fly by.
It was an easy trip to downtown by car, but we also made use of the close by Eastgate Park and Ride to get to/from a concert at Lumen Stadium. The host was very ice and available for questions and the guest book was very clear. I would highly recommend!

We loved our stay and enjoyed time on the lake, views from the deck and the cozy, cute home!

This house is even better in person! The views from the upstairs bedrooms/lofts early in the morning are breathtaking and amazing to wake up to. The downstairs bedroom is the only one with a "door," but there was plenty of privacy for those that slept in the loft bedrooms.
The linens and towels were fresh and clean and just lovely to use. The kitchen had just about every type of pot/pan you could ever need. They provided 2 small coolers that we found very helpful when packing sandwiches and drinks to take down to the lakefront.
The driveway is NO JOKE! It's steep and narrow but manageable. "Not for weak knees" is a true statement.
We had a 5 year old and 12 year old so they swam almost every day. The only entry into the water is at the end of the dock (jump in or use the ladder) but the water was clean and refreshing in early July.
Lisa was amazing! No question was too silly and she was very helpful when needed. We would be honored to stay here again.

Our family of 6 stayed in June for our daughter's graduation. Such a comfortable home! Lisa was easy to reach & very accommodating. She supplied us with an extra, full propane tank for the grill and extra serving bowls and tongs for our grad party we hosted for 16 people. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could imagine - toaster, crock pot, griddle, blender, Keurig, regular drip coffee pot, plenty of covered microwaveable dishes, baking sheets, plenty of wine glasses and plates/bowls/flatware, even foil, plastic wrap, oils - just everything! Loved the sharp knife set. We could have spent all day out on the deck with the gorgeous, nearly 180' views of the lake. The outdoor dining table was great and had very comfortable chairs. Bald eagles were numerous and fun to watch! The two living areas were both very nice, and both faced the lake. As far as the bedroom/bathroom layout goes - We had two daughters in the queen bedroom downstairs near the kitchen with an ensuite bathroom. Husband and I stayed right above in the upstairs lofted bedroom with another ensuite bath. This bedroom is open to the living room with TV downstairs, and to the lake views thru the A frame windows in the living room. June morning sun came in early, so we put our pillows at the foot of the bed to avoid the direct morning light. Two daughters stayed in the other lofted bedroom above the family room, with queen bed and twin bed at opposites ends of the room, with a full bath at base of stairs.

Good communication from property manager. We really appreciated her description of the parking situation as we were driving a huge pickup truck and the driveway was much easier to navigate with her specific directions. The location/neighborhood was really great. We enjoyed a quick dip and kayak in the lake. House was clean and comfortable.
Sometimes I can’t figure out rooms/bathrooms on VRBO listings so for our family- there were two loft areas. One had an en-suite bathroom with tub (the only tub) and bed. That’s where the parents slept for us. Another big bed with an attached bathroom right below, our daughter took this suite. And then across the house in the other loft, we put our two boys. There are two beds. A big one and like a twin daybed. The boys used the bathroom right down the stairs from their loft. There was a lot of room.

This is a magical place. The house has stunning views of the lake and a large deck spanning the front of the property. Then, there’s a short walk (45 seconds or so) down to a lakeside area with a double kayak, deck chairs and a table and chairs. You can sunbathe, swim off the dock, and take a paddle in the kayak. Breathtaking location.

The place looked better than we expected. Beautiful porch overlooking the lake, very nice neighborhood. All areas of the house has a lake view. Awesome place! Hopefully we can go back one day. Thanks Lisa!

Very restful and has all the comforts of home. The views of the lake are outstanding. Plenty of room to relax and read or watch tv. Lisa was very accommodating and easy to get ahold of.
Parking is a bit cramped but works for 2 cars.

This was our second visit this year, and it was a wonderful experience both times. This home is very clean and comfortable, great beds, full kitchen, and a lovely deck. The location is ideal for my family. We LOVE being on the lake and there is a beautiful park, and access to its trails, just down the street. This home gives you the feeling of being fully removed from the city, but it’s just a quick drive to restaurants and shops, and easy to get into downtown Seattle. Lisa is a wonderful host and has been very responsive and helpful during our stays. We loved our time here and would definitely stay again if we get the chance.

The space is simply beautiful and view can't be beat. The building is older so it can be quite drafty in the winter. However the hosts provide many heating sources and we were nice and toasty! We had several minor needs regarding check in and check out and Lisa was SO accommodating. The stay was for business but I look forward to a visit in the summer for pleasure!

My family and I traveled to Seattle for a week and loved this property. It was so easy to get downtown for appointments or to explore, and then we got to relax and unwind in the tranquility of this property. Lisa communicated everything we needed to know, and was easy to contact. The property is clean, well appointed, and comfortable. I especially appreciated how nice the beds are.
The setting and access to the lake are fabulous.

We were seriously sad to depart this property today. It is big (for 2 people), has a gorgeous view of the lake, and was nice and quiet. The beds were shockingly comfortable, too! The only thing to be aware of is the driveway is a bit steep and can be challenging for larger vehicles.

We, a group of graduate students from UT Austin, stayed here to save some money on housing for the duration of our conference. It was a lovely home with plenty of space for the 6 of us, comfy beds and couches, and simply the most spectacular view. Every person staying in the fancy hotel hosting the conference was envious of our housing choice. Engineers from all over the world were jealous of this find, and other members of our lab wanted to cancel their hotel reservations to join us. Thank you for allowing us to stay at this property. We will never forget our time here.

Thank you for such a wonderful relaxing weekend. We loved the east access to the lake.
