Sunset Cottage at Lake Barkley is a beautifully renovated, 4 bedroom 4 bath waterfront rental home in a quiet cove near Lake Barkley Lodge and Marina. The home has been professionally decorated, with attention to detail to make your stay relaxing and memorable.

Sunset Cottage will accommodate multi-family and friend gatherings and reunions, as it has beds for 12 but will sleep up to 14 people. The kitchen has new stainless appliances, and is fully stocked for families who enjoy cooking. A propane gas grill is also provided. The eat-in kitchen provides a large island that seats 8. A spacious deck has a dining table for 8 and beautiful outdoor wicker furniture. A screened-in porch on the lower level provides a dining table for 6 and wicker furniture to seat an additional 9 people.

The property has a gently sloped yard that leads to a private covered dock and 2 jet ski pads. Guests are invited to use the perimeter of the private dock during the summer months as the owner's boat occupies the covered lift. Ropes and bumpers are provided. A fire pit near the water's edge provides the perfect opportunity for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, or just relaxing and making memories with family and friends.

Sunset Cottage is located in the popular Little River area of Lake Barkley, with Sandy Beach just across the bay. Enjoy your morning coffee while watching the deer play at the water's edge, or catch a glimpse of the famous Bald Eagles and Great White Pelicans as they soar across the lake.

Two kayaks are provided for guests who would like to explore the tranquil area by water.

The home's loft is the ideal space for a family with kids. It has a king-size bed and 2 twin beds with trundles to accommodate 2 additional persons. The loft includes a full private bath, and a 36 inch Smart TV. Additional Smart TV's are equipped with YouTube TV in the Master Bedroom (42 inch) and Lower Level Family Room (55 inch). The Lower Level Blue Bedroom has a 32 inch flat screen TV with YouTube TV. Ample parking space is provided with driveways on both sides of the home, and includes a carport.

The Rivers End boat ramp is conveniently located just down the street from the entrance of our subdivision, Parkview Shores (approx 1/2 mile).

We all loved this house! They have everything we needed - including 2 fridges, 2 washers and dryers, 4 bathrooms/showers and lots of beds! Beautiful home and lake views. Mike, the owner, was so easy to work with and you can tell he loves this home and happy to open it up to families. What a treasure!

Super easy to find. Incredible views. Very nice updated & spacious house. Enough comfortable sleeping space. Easy access, and safe, to lake. Rented a boat for a day, rode to house to get everyone. Great fun!! Elk & Bison Reserve fun for an hour. Inside house areas nice, and just enough for the possible rainy day. Glad we went!! Mike is very attentive and friendly.

Beautiful spacious home with all the amenities. The yard and fire pit were great. Plenty of fishing and jumping off the dock to be enjoyed. The neighborhood was very quiet and full of beautiful deer.

Great house. The deck and screened room was perfect for our family. We rented a pontoon boat for the week and was able to tie it to the owner's peer. Kitchen gave four cooks plenty of room to create delicious meals all week. Most certainly will return.

This house is very nice but it is not big enough for 16 people which is how it was listed. Really 12 would be perfect. Not enough space to even pull out the trundle beds and couldn’t find any sheets for them. But overall we still had a wonderful time just very crowded. The outdoor space is great!

Very nice Lake house. Our family really enjoyed their time on the water with their jet skis, fishing & boat rides. We also sat around the fire pit & roasted some marshmallows : Also enjoyed just relaxing & watching the Beautiful sunsets and deer running through the yard.

We had a wonderful stay at Mike's lake house. He was the best host that I have ever had at a rental property. The house and grounds were very well kept and Mike was very attentive. Note that the lake and firepit are is quite a bit further from the house than anticipated but the exercise didn't hurt.

This cottage and setting was beautiful! We loved every moment from fishing off the dock with our boys, drinking coffee in the AM while looking at the stunning view and enjoying the fire pit at night under the stars. The house was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed and more and the owner was gracious and accommodating. The only disappointment you will experience is having to leave it all behind! Highly recommend!

My 83 year-old mom, sister and I loved our stay here so much we did not leave the property from check-in to check-out. We made all our meals in the beautiful, well stocked kitchen. Spent our mornings on the deck, afternoons sitting by the lake and then headed in to the screened porch until dinner. I also took advantage of the kayaks every morning exploring beautiful Lake Barkley. This property was perfect for my mom because getting up and down to the lake didn't require stairs or maneuvering a super steep hill like many of the lake houses I saw, just a slight hill she was able to handle just fine. This was our second trip to Sunset Cottage and we are already talking about making our third.

Everything about this was amazing. The house was amazing (clean, well stocked with necessities, plenty of room, great layout, wonderful views of lake). The communication with owners was amazing (timely, helpful, accommodating). The lake was amazing (good fishing from dock or boat, great beach across the channel for kids to swim, low traffic). We would definitely stay here again. Strongly recommend for a family or any group looking for a fun relaxing trip.

Great location right on the lake. 3 bedrooms, a loft area with a Queen and 2 twins (and 2 trundles) plus a pull-out sleeper sofa provided enough seeping space for our family of 14. We brought our own boat but rented jet skis from both Moon River Resort and Marina and Lake Barkley Marina. Moon River was about a 10-minute drive and Lake Barkley was about a 30-minute drive (only 5-10 minutes by boat). The dock was perfect for our use. There was plenty of seating around the fire pit for cooking s’mores. The house had a wonderful kitchen with an island that seated 8 of us and plenty of seating on the deck (with a beautiful view of the lake). The host, Mike, was very responsive and answered all questions very quickly. I’d highly recommend Sunset Cottage for your next Lake Barkley vacation.

Three generations of family stayed in May. The house was beautiful and exactly as described/pictured, and it was stocked so well that we didn't need to supply any kitchen items. Bedrooms were set up perfectly for our family. Bright, comfortable, and beautiful views. Communication with property manager was excellent. I would recommend this house to anyone!

It was a great house. We watched the boats and barges go by. One morning we had deer in the yard. It was a very quiet area. We had 9 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of room. Though the kitchen and living room wasn’t as big as it looked, but you had a big area downstairs and we didn’t spend much time inside anyway. We would definitely rent again! Communication was great with Mike.

This property was great for my family! We hoped to catch more fish but that’s always a gamble. Mike was awesome at communicating. There aren’t a lot of places near by to grab groceries. There is a food giant and dollar general in Cadiz. But their selections are scare for produce. Maybe grab groceries before you get there or stop in Benton. House was well stocked and clean! Thanks Mike!

What a beautiful place, and a gorgeous setting. Unfortunately, it was too chilly to enjoy the outside this trip. But the house was so clean and comfy, we just enjoyed hanging out inside. There were 8 of us. Parents, sisters and husbands. And we all decided we should go back when it warms up so we can enjoy the deck, screened in porch, fire pit, kayaks, walking along the lake, etc. Thanks, Mike!

We had a great time! The house is lovely and well-appointed. We really enjoyed the fire pit and were lucky enough to have the weather clear for us on New Year’s Eve so we could enjoy a fabulous sunset. Great place and hope to return one day soon!

The number of bedrooms/bathrooms were perfect for our group. The kitchen was well enough equipped that we were able to cook Christmas Eve/Day Dinner. Having two fridges and two washer/dryers was a bonus. My only very very small complaint was the plethora of throw pillows in the bedrooms and family gathering room that made it difficult to put them aside and out of the way. They look nice but so many just aren’t practical. Everything was great and we enjoyed ourselves.

We had a great time!! Would definitely stay again probably during the boating season next time!! We had four couples and there was plenty of room for all of us!! Harper House has amazing food!! Thank you Mike for suggesting it!! Excellent service as well!! Loved fishing off of the dock and floating around on the lake!!

The home was welcoming and the owners have thought of everything. We appreciated the baby gate as we had little ones. More than enough room for our group. Very clean and beautiful bathrooms (important to me). You will not be disappointed should you decide on this property.

Our getaway with friends at Sunset Cottage was outstanding! The house is laid out well with numerous well furnished spaces to gather. Host was wonderful to work with and responded promptly to questions. Ramp to launch our boat was just down the road and dock at the cottage was perfectly positioned for docking and unloading. This part of the lake was pretty quiet while we were there.

Beautiful lakefront property that pleased everyone in our group with easy access to fishing, swimming and kayaking right off the dock. We enjoyed the fire pit with chairs and the ample parking space. The screened in porch was great for morning coffee. The large island in the well stocked kitchen easily accommodated our group of eight for meals. The multiple bathrooms and bedrooms made for plenty of private sleeping and showering spaces for everyone. The multiple fridges, washers and dryers were a huge plus to this property versus others we have stayed at. We had trouble with our provided access code when we arrived but the owner responded quickly to my voicemail and provided us with a new code to use. The only downside to our entire stay was that we needed to wash and wipe down the deck/railings, the outside of the large picture windows and the patio furniture before we could use it. There was a thick layer of bugs and mildew over it all when we arrived. After spending about an hour or so spraying it down with the provided hose and wiping off surfaces we were able to enjoy using it the duration of our stay. There were also a number of cobwebs hanging in the main living space from the lights, tension line in the kitchen/living room. If that had all been clean when we arrived this would have been 5+ stars. Since it wasn’t, I have to rate this 4 stars.
