About this house rental
Escape to the perfect lakefront getaway! Our cozy cabin offers great lake access and is just a short drive from all the fun-filled activities you could ask for. With nearby rafting, biking, ziplining, Cherokee, Bryson City, and Robbinsville, there's never a dull moment.
Enjoy your own private section of the dock. During the summer months, you can easily launch your boat right next to our dock and tie off right away. No more wasting your precious vacation time searching for a boat slip!
Take a dip in the refreshing lake waters or cast a line and try your luck fishing from our dock. For the thrill-seekers, bring your boat, water skis, and/or jet ski and play on the lake, or take a leisurely cruise through the stunning mountain-scaped lake. Don't forget to pack some sandwiches for a relaxing picnic on the lake or at the historic Fontana Dam.
If you're looking for more adventure, you won't have to go far. Go white-water rafting or kayaking down the Nantahala River, take a ride on the Great Smokey Mountains Railroad, go horseback riding, hike the Appalachian Trail, or challenge yourself on the famous Tsali Bike Trails. You can also tour the historical Cherokee or try your luck at the Cherokee Casino, all just minutes from our cabin. We like to think of our area of Western North Carolina as God's Theme Park, a place for recreation and relaxation that is sure to recharge your soul!
Our private dock walkway is shared with our other home, but each of our homes has its own reserved section. Our dock is conveniently located just outside the marina's no-wake zone, making it a quick and easy trip for supplies and gas. From May to early September, you can launch your boat and/or jet ski right next to our dock. The marina launch area is also just a short distance away. Please note that the dock may not be available in the winter as the TVA lowers the lake level. The marina adjusts our dock as the lake level lowers and rises to and from the winter levels.
We provide a golf cart for transporting people, coolers, and gear to the dock, as well as two ride-on top kayaks to get on the water for your convenience. Please note that availability depends on the prior guest caring for them during use, but we make a reasonable effort to ensure they are available for all guests.
Need more space for your party? Check out our home next door (291348) and see if it's available. It's always more fun when everyone is close by!

Guests enjoyed the property for its beautiful lake views and convenient amenities like the dock and proximity to outdoor activities. The host's attentiveness and the overall experience were highly praised.

First the good. Nice cozy house on the lake. Nothing fancy but clean and functional. Really nice dock/pier on a beautiful spot on the lake. There really is no bad but some things to be aware of. Internet was spotty our entire trip if that’s important to you. There had been some storms before we got there and WiFi/internet was completely out on arrival. It seemed to get better during our stay so maybe it was storm related. The drive to the house is quite narrow necessitating backing out or performing a 160 point turn between a vertical hillside and 100ft drop. Backing wasn’t that difficult. The path to the dock is quit steep but doable and they have a golf cart you can use to completely circumvent the path. Didn’t use the cart but did drive down to unload paddle boards, easy

We enjoyed everything this property had to offer.. The house overlooking the lake was hard to leave. George is always easily available and very helpful..

The property was about what I had hoped for. It had access to the lake and close to Nantahala Outdoor Center where we went rafting and zip lining. There's a boat rental close by. The people there were very friendly and helpful. Having a dock close to the boat rental place is very convenient. We were able to do quite a few adventures and had a great time!

Unfortunately, there's a lot to be disappointed with, as far the cleanliness of the place and communication with the host.
Many of the appliances did not work well. The oven only turned off when you put it on clean mode. The shower was clogged, so you were constantly standing in a pool of water. The control panel for the hot tub had fallen off, thus exposing loose wires to the water.
Most everything was dirty. The couches were musty, old, and very dusty. Much of the outdoor furniture had mold all over it, and if it didn't, it was covered in layers of dirt. I spent twenty minutes cleaning the outdoor table, just so we could feel comfortable sitting there. The carpets in the bedrooms were very stained. The bunk beds were precariously rickety, to the point that we weren't comfortable using the top bunk. The comforters were cheap and dirty feeling.
I will say that the kitchen and bathroom had been cleaned, but that appeared to be it.
We almost left a day early, but the beauty of the lake makes up for a lot.
When we left, we emailed the host about it all. It's now been over 24 hours, and we have not received any sort of response. Though we will happily visit the lake again, we won't be staying here. I will say that when we booked i did not click on the button for pets and when i messaged him he waived the fee for us which was kind.

Had a wonderful time, this is my second time renting and will definitely rent again! Brought my two Corgis with me and they had just as much fun, the ramp off the dock is perfect for ease of access for the dogs! Property is no frills but is perfect and what really makes the rental is the dock! There's nothing better than a few days at the lake to recharge. The addition of the firepit was great too! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

We enjoyed our time at the lake house so much! The home had everything we needed for our 4th of July vacation. Fontana Lake is gorgeous! We brought our boat and the dock was perfect. The host provided a golf cart, kayaks, a fire pit, grill, and all the amenities we needed! We were very comfortable there. Thank you! We can't wait to come back!

Lake house
The dock really made the place great. No one was staying at the other camp at the time so had dock all to ourselves. The house was smaller than we thought but was fine for our family. Went hiking and fished at the lake, had fun. Caught catfish off the dock every day we were there. Kids enjoyed swimming at the lake during the day off dock and had fire at night at fire pit.

perfect getaway
Such a magical spot! Plenty of space for our family.. All the beds where extremely comfortable. hot tub was soo hot and wonderful, my mom actually slept on the hammock outside because she wanted to! We spent time on the dock just swimming as well as kayaking and one day we rented a boat that we were able to tie up to the dock and have the family come and go. It does not get much better!

Private Mountain Lake Getaway
My husband, mother-in-law, and 17 yr old son enjoyed ourselves for 4 days and 3 nights at this cozy, quiet mountain lake getaway. Being surrounded by the forest helps to keep the house and porch nice and cool in the summer and the AC was working almost too well inside. The house is very close to the water but just far enough that we were grateful for the golf cart the hosts provided there, so we could drive our mom down to the dock and up again. We cook a lot from scratch so we were grateful the kitchen was fully stocked and the gas grill was functional.
Our teenager appreciated having wifi and the tv includes netflix, disney, and youtube - you just have to login to your own account to access the latter two. The place was just as described, except that the private dock is actually shared with the neighboring property but we had no issue with that. We never even saw the other family that was staying nextdoor, but if we had that would have been ok as there are designated spaces on the dock for each property. The bedrooms are very small with just enough room to walk to one side of the beds but we didn't spend much time there, as we enjoyed most of our time between the cool, clean, emerald water of Fontana Lake, the private dock, and the shady deck, which was so accommodating for lounging and visiting with the family. The hot tub was VERY hot and the jets worked decently well. Every night we we serenaded by the lovely orchestra of toads, frogs, and whippoorwills. It was quite enchanting. And it was such a wonderful place for our mom's dogs to stay with us. We are so grateful for such a lovely location available to dog lovers. We just wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely book again when possible.

Fontana Lake
House was pretty much as expected. It was small with only one bath, so glad there was only 2 of us. Lake was way down in the fall dock was difficult to get to so really were not able to use. Location was good. Not too far to Bryson City or Fontana Dam.

Autumn at the lake house
We had a wonderful experience! The location is perfectly remote but close enough to all the things we needed. The house is much more spacious than the pictures showed, and the dock on the lake was so much fun for relaxing and fishing!

Bring your boat and enjoy Lake Fontana
My wife and I had a wonderful early fall week stay in this neat cabin on Lake Fontana. The cabin is not new and luxurious, but it is very functional and comfortable. It's one of the few places that enables you to bring your own boat and have a dock to tie it up to. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to bring a boat and enjoy the beautiful lake. This would not be the best place to stay if your interest does not center around being on the water.

Simply an amazing rental
This cabin is the perfect secluded getaway located on lake Fontana with all the comforts of home. The views of the Smokey mountains from the lake we’re breath taking. One added bonus of this cabin Is the dishwasher. Less time scrubbing equals more time on the lake fishing swimming kayaking and boating which we took advantage of all of those activities in the clear clean blue waters of lake Fontana.

Awesome Place!
We had a great time. A definite do again. The cabin was perfect for two couples, comfy and had everything we needed. It was so nice to have coffee on the porch each morning as the sun came up and to relax in the hot tub each night after long motorcycle rides through the mountains. The only downfall for us was all the thin gravel roads leading to the cabin. We trailered two sport bikes and had to find a place each day we rode to take the trailer to off load and reload the bikes since it was too dangerous to attempt to ride on gravel. That’s on up, though. We didn’t think to ask. George was great and helped us find a place we could park our truck and trailer each day where we could safely unload/load and ride out for the day. George was also a savior when we got lost coming in. The dock was a great place to hang out and enjoy the lake. We appreciated the golf cart being available and used it to guide our friends in and to go to the dock when we were too lazy to use the stairs! I’d recommend this property to all and we will be back!!! Thanks, George :-)

Cozy and private
My wife and i spent 5 nights here. We enjoy our privacy and prefer rentals that are cozy and not too large. This property was perfect for us. The rental had plenty of room for our needs. I was concerned about the privacy since lakefront property is a premium. It is hard to find rentals on a lake and still feel isolated. I was extremely happy when we arrived. Sitting on the porch, only one house can be seen (barely) and even that is obscured by the trees. We visited in mid november so we did not take advantage of any water activities but standing on the dock we could imagine how much fun it would be in the warmer months. There is a ladder and a floating ramp to gain access to/from the dock/water. Jumping in to swim and getting back on the dock would be a cinch. While we were there, the weather was cold and raining. The hot tub is covered by the bottom porch and was perfect for those chilly wet evenings. We spent many hours comfy and warm while the temp dipped into the mid 30’s. If you’ve ever used a cheap hot tub in cold weather, you know how hard it is to keep the water temp hot - well that was not a problem at all. The water temp stayed perfect no matter how cold it was and, as i said, we spent many hours in it. As far as inside the cabin, we like quaint and cozy so we were pleased. The bedrooms are small and the queen bed takes up most of the room. Its for sleeping, not aerobics so that isn’t an issue. There’s even a small tv mounted in each room. The bathroom is just that - a bathroom. Tub, shower, toilet, and sink. What else do you need. Oh - and a hairdryer. My wife didnt know if there would be one so figured i’d mention that. There is a laundry room with washer a dryer if needed. The kitchen is stocked with enough cooking utinsils, pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. when we arrived there were paper towels, coffee filters, salt/pepper in the cabinets. The location is perfect for those who plan to adventure out for activities. Centrally located for acess to Bryson, Nantahala, Cherokee, Gatlinburg, Robbinsville, etc. Even Asheville isnt more than an hour away.
From the pictures it should be obvious, but be aware there are many steps to/from the main level to the hottub and dock. Anyone with physical limitations could have a very hard time. Large groups would be very crowded inside. Families of 4 or less should have ample room. If you plan to be out and about all the time and only inside to eat and sleep then it easily sleeps 6.

Quaint getaway
Enjoyed our stay. Weather was perfect so we lived on the beautiful dock. Couldn’t beat the 82 degree water temp! Thank you for letting us bring our small fishing boat and for allowing us to stay for less than an entire week. Very tranquil location for our family to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company.

Is this really what we paid for
The dock was not there at all, was instructed to take our trash away to recycle center when checked out so drive aprox 15 miles out of our way to a place that was closed. Pics of house make it look a lot larger than it was so basically the prop is way over priced for the location and what u get. Cabin was clean! Hot tub needs attention.
