About this house rental
Villa Petrolo is an 18th century manor house, built by Massimiliano Soldani, architect sculptor and medalist for the Medici Family, as his own residence. It’s now available for holidays, weddings and events.
The property can host from 17 to 33 people in 16 bedrooms (in twins or doubles, 1 single and 2 triple bedrooms) and 12 bathrooms.
Includes daily 4 hours cleaning service, private swimming pool 6x12 mt, Wi-Fi internet, billiard, tennis court, ping pong, Sky- TV, two kitchens, large living rooms, 1 grand hall and fireplaces for cozy winters.
The house is over 800 sqm (8100 sqft) and is surrounded by private gardens of over 1 ha with fountain, century old cypresses and holm-oak woods. The interior decoration, keeps the traditional “landed gentry” feel and consists mostly of antique furniture, with both antique and modern paintings.
A great selection of the Petrolo winery products will be available for you: our fine wines, organic E.V. Olive oil and honey.
Delicious informal meals, full board, half board or just occasionally, can be requested, prepared by our family cooks, in traditional Tuscan style.
The Villa is divided as such:
-Ground and first floor for up to 17 people:9 bedrooms ensuite, with large livingrooms and a vast hall with Murano crystal chandelier.
-2nd floor adds 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms for 16 extra guests. Flexible upgrades possible.
PETROLO WINERY
Tenuta di Petrolo, with its famous winery and prestigious production of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, is placed on the slopes of the hills bordering the Chianti region overlooking from its favourable point of view the lovely valley of Valdarno Superiore.
The Estate is surrounded by green olive groves, active vineyards and beautiful oak woods in an area full of charm and history. Dominating the countryside and landmark of the Estate, is the Tower of Galatrona which foundations date back to the Etruscans and Romans. The Tower itself lends its name to some of Petrolo’s wines, the 'Torrione' (which means big tower) and the 'Galatrona'. Petrolo’s manor house, the Villa, overlooks the ancient Romanesque Pieve (parish church) of Galatrona, which houses precious renaissance works by Giovanni della Robbia.
Three small private lakes, where fishing is possible, complete Petrolo’s scenery.
WINERY VISITS
Interesting visits to the wine-cellars can be organized with tastings and purchase of the estate's products.
Petrolo can accomodate its guests in the Villa and in four independent farmhouses: Bòggina, Costa, Vigna, Feriale I and Feriale II. Managing up to 79 guests.

Villa was the perfect place. Marco our host was very attentive and helpful. Space for all 27 to relax and have fun from ages 3 to 76. Food by private chef delicious. Pool great size and vey clean. Loved hiking around the grounds. Good location for all family members to make daily excursions. Wine tasting and tour excellent. Accommodations were wonderful…we were there at the hottest time so Marco help with an in room AC and many fans for the third floor. It all worked out.

Our group of 18 had a wonderful time and everyone was raving about the Villa, the staff and location. It was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The catering was excellent too. Several of us were discussing the possibility of coming back since it had been such an enjoyable experience.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding here with a small group of family members. We were overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and generosity of the staff, who helped us in countless ways in order for our ceremony to be exactly what we imagined. Thank you Villa Petrolo! We couldn't have asked for anything more- it was a trip of a lifetime.

We booked our stay at Villa Petrolo to host 20 guests (and one toddler) for a wedding/elopement. Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. The villa itself is beautifully decorated and looks even better in person. Each room has its own personality and there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy time as a group or alone. The grounds are peaceful, picturesque and well taken care of.
Thank you to Marco who was responsive, answered all of our questions and was extremely helpful with booking and throughout our stay. We had a wine tasting and a cooking class that everyone loved! Laura and Francesca were an absolute delight and were so kind and helpful. Everyone at Villa Petrolo really made our stay stress free and ensured the wedding day went seamlessly and according to plan. We all had the most amazing time!

We had our wedding at Villa Petrolo!
We had our wedding at Villa Petrolo! We stayed there for 5 days with 25-30 family members. The villa is amazing. The staff are amazing. Good location (near train station and grocery store).
We stayed in April and it was kind of cold in the villa (even with the heater running), but totally worth it, just make sure you bring warm comfy clothes to sleep in. :)

Beautiful villa, lovely food, fab team
Just fabulous. The Villa, the house team, the food and the location were perfect for our 40th anniversary celebrations. If we needed anything the Petrolo team sorted it. It is much more than can be given in a review it was our home for one week and we could not have asked for more. I would love to return one day.
