This house was perfect for our family of four. It was well equipped, including beach towels, a cooler and everything else we needed. Yvonne was so kind to turn the ac to a cooler setting for us when we felt too warm.

This vacation rental really takes the cake: Cleanliness 5/5, Communication 5/5, Comfort 5/5, Quiet/Safe Neighborhood 5/5, Amenities 5/5, Beautiful Location 5/5!
The only downside was we didn’t book enough days! We’re coming back when we visit Yosemite again and we strongly recommend this house.

The home is even more spacious than expected and was spotless. Charming backyard to relax. Just far enough away from Mariposa to see TONS of stars at night, but only a 5-10 minute drive to Mariposa to explore the town. Mariposa is charming...I wish we had more time to explore it. The beds were super comfy. Can't say enough good things about the home. VERY comfortable for our family of 5. Would stay again in a heartbeat! Host responded within minutes and very easy to communicate with.

Oak Rock Hideway is appropriately named. If you're looking for a comfortable and well-kept home that's off the beaten path this is it!! There was plenty of room for our group of 4 seniors, and we made good use of the well-stocked kitchen and outdoor grill to prepare our evening meals after long days of exploring in Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon. The owners live right next door and checked-in several times to make sure we had everything we needed.
In Mariposa itself, we were surprised and pleased by how big and well stocked the Pioneer Market was! We've become regular VRBO renters over the past 7 or 8 years and would rate this property as one of the better ones we've stayed in!!

This house was perfect for our short stay in Miraposa. It was a great location for visiting Yosemite and just a short drive to restaurants. The house was very clean and was well stocked with everything we needed! The instructions for check in and out were clearly displayed and very helpful! We would love to stay here again if ever back in the area!

My family and I are so happy that we chose to stay at Oak Rock Hideaway during our visit to Yosemite. The beds were very comfortable and provided us with a great night's sleep every night, and the home was incredibly clean. I loved that the house had an abundance of natural light inside and that the back patio/deck was so secluded. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the views and watching the birds while drinking my coffee on the deck each morning. True peace and serenity! We would love to stay again if we ever return to the area.

This property is exactly what we were looking for; private, quiet, clean and a refuge after a day of adventures around the Yosemite and Mariposa areas. My family of 4 (including 2 teens) loved it! The beds were comfortable and the place was spotless. Our host was great with communication. I would highly recommend it to friends and family.

My family and I were looking for a place close to Yosemite (within an hour drive) but away from the noise that tourists bring. We came upon this little gem and it was perfect. The owners were great when it came to communication and there was nothing left to chance. The house itself is beautiful, super clean and shows the pride of ownership. It is clear that the owners think about what they would want if they were the guests when it comes to the little things...like providing beach towels and a cooler for a day at the lake. This was my first time renting a VRBO...and I couldn't recommend a better introduction. If you are looking for a great place near Yosemite...look no further. This is your place!

This is the cleanest place I have ever stayed. Not only was everything prestige inside, but outside as well. No cob webs anywhere for this place in the mountains! All outdoor furniture was spotless. Very, very well done and we are so happy we chose this property.

This was all we were looking for, away from the city noise, beautiful starry nights and quiet open location. I would stay here again for sure. You can tell they have great pride in their home. It is clean and so homey, I loved the large master bath and shower. We enjoyed the sounds of nature while sitting at the firepit at night. Mariposas is a wonderful little town and the drive to Yosemite was about 45 mins. Thanks again to the property owners for opening up their home to us!

We loved staying here for our vacation in Yosemite! Very peaceful and quiet. The home is beautiful and was very clean! Yvonne was easy to work with and even let us check in early when we arrived at 3. We were very grateful, as we had been traveling from Georgia and had been traveling fir a long time. Yosemite is about an hour away and it’s a beautiful drive in.

The property was in a great location about an hour from Yosemite, very clean and well maintained. Cute place with all of the appropriate amenities, TV/Netflix etc, cooking utensils, oven, fridge. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms/showers very clean. Checkout instructions were very transparent and listed on the fridge. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay near Yosemite!

Was a great location and beautiful house. We (My wife and two daughters) loved being there and would recommend to others.
Access to the property (off the main road) is a pretty rough road (drive). May want to include some description of this in the listing (may have been there and I just missed it). We had an SUV and it was fine but anything with low clearance would have had some trouble.

Great Base for Yosemite Visit
Very happy with the Oak Rock Hideaway as our base for a 4-day trip to Yosemite National Park. It is an easy drive (less than an hour) to the Arch Rock Entrance and about 10 minutes to Mariposa. The home is clean, spacious and modern with plenty of amenities. Top notch experience!

Perfect getaway close to Yosemite
A beautiful house in a beautiful setting! The house was spotlessly clean, and extremely well equipped. There were even toys to keep the little ones busy. The location was perfect, an hour away from Yosemite, less than five minutes away from the California Mining and Mineral Museum and 10 mins aways from Mariposa. We enjoyed watching the birds and deer from the gorgeous patio. Will definitly be visiting again. Highly recommend!

Mountain home away from home!
Wonderful and well-appointed home! My family and I stayed while we visited and explored Yosemite National Park. Home is spacious, very clean, and a relaxing spot. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and watching the cows.
Was a little farther from the park than we originally thought, though its a beautiful drive there and back.
Could have used a baking sheet and some cookware with better matching lids, but we made do and cooked several meals there.
Was great having laundry and a dishwasher!
Thank you Yvonne!

Fabulous choice for Yosemite vacation!
Super clean & well equipped. The owners have thought of everything! They live adjacent to the property, which can be very handy if there are any issues, although we had none. The property is very comfortable and extremely well kept with lovely decor and flowers outdoors. We especially enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife feeding while we ate breakfast on the back patio in the quiet and serene mornings. Highly recommend!

Peaceful serene setting to relax and enjoy nature and recharge your batteries.
Comfortable clean house with all the necessary amenities in a quiet setting with scenic views. Plenty of opportunities to sit outside on the patio, by the barbecue, on the back deck or around the firepit and enjoy the wildlife - birds at the bird feeder, cows, a horse, and the highlight for us was the bobcat strolling along the dirt track beside the property gate..

peaceable kingdom
Calm, peaceful, bright and welcoming. Everything you might want is there, and it's only a short gravel lane to get to the paved road. Ten minutes from Mariposa. Definitely coming back!

Peaceful and Beautiful!
This property was super cute and absolutely perfect for our stay! There were 4 of us, and we had more than enough room. We truly enjoyed the peace and quiet, and beautiful views. Deer from the area would pay us a visit in the mornings. The furniture and decor in Yvonne's cabin was lovely, and it was spacious and clean. She thought of everything with many wonderful details! We really enjoyed visiting around the firepit in the evenings. Very relaxing, and the drive (up to an hour) to Yosemite was beautiful as well. It's worth the drive. We even saw a black bear on the way to the park on our second day. Fabulous trip, and I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home
The host of the property shows true care. She provided beautiful, clean, well organized and well supplied home. Very relaxing ambiance. Thank you for being such a great host!
For the Accuracy of the property listing I gave four stars because under the photo and information states "Bootjack" but the property is in Mariposa.

Lovely farm, clean home
We had a wonderful time visiting Yosemite and the surrounding area from this beautiful, sparkling clean house situated on a California ranch-farm. The outdoor seating area was peaceful in the morning for birdwatching and mountain sunrises. The garden was also beautiful. There were books and games and television (we used our Disney plus account to watch Free Solo) for those who need a break from the outdoors. The beach towels and picnic blanket were a nice touch, useful for our Bass lake and Splash-n-Dash outings.

Serene Mountain Oasis
Yvonne created a comfortable and inviting home for us. I was nervous about traveling and have high standards when it comes to cleanliness, but the Hideaway met them all! The home was immaculate!
Highlights:
1. My partner and I were able to telework effectively with the high speed wifi.
2. We loved sitting out on the deck and watching the birds, squirrels, and cows!
3. Yvonne had plenty of pots, pans, knives, cutting boards, and other useful appliances. She even included a cooler!
If we ever needed anything, Yvonne or Stan made themselves available. It was a pleasure speaking with them. They provided plenty of information about the surrounding area, including Yosemite National Park.
Things to be aware of:
1. The trip to Yosemite took about 50 minutes if we left the house around 6am. Be prepared to encounter traffic if you leave after 10 am!
2. If you’re into cooking, consider bringing your own spices. Also consider bringing Tupperware with you.
3. Pay close attention to the written instructions provided by Yvonne. Your GPS may not be exact.
Our stay was magnificent and we look forward to returning!

A very nice stay
A very clean house, well equipped and stocked. Communication with the owner was timely and helpful. The photo of the outside of the house does not do it justice - the property (as well as the house) is very well maintained and the views are great. The overall place has a very calm and relaxing vibe. We were pleasantly surprised by our stay.

A very nice home in a very nice place
The three of us had a very nice time. The home and grounds are just as described. There were lots of finches enjoying the bird feeder, they were fun to watch from the patio in the morning. The owners were very responsive. Thanks for the fun!
