About this cabin rental
Create lifetime memories in this kid and dog friendly mountain property. Kids can play in the backyard in the fort and nature course while you enjoy your favorite beverage taking in the view of Mount Baldy from the private back deck. In the evening, make some s’mores around the outdoor firepit telling jokes. In the fall, walk through the forest and watch the aspen leaves light up the mountains like gold. In the wintertime, enjoy a winter wonderland full of snowmobiling, snow shoeing, ice fishing, sledding/tubing and cross-country skiing at the nearby Grand Lake Nordic Center. You can even fit in a day of skiing on the way to the cabin with a stop at Winter Park Ski Resort just 40 miles away. At the end of your day, snuggle up next to the indoor wood fireplace in the cabin with a warm beverage and just let all your troubles disappear. This licensed 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom Grand Lake rental property has Columbine Lake across the street and acres of wilderness out the back door. Take a hike in the world renown Rocky Mountain National Park just 1.1 miles North on US34. Stroll through the adorable town of Grand Lake just 1.5 miles away. There you can enjoy shopping, restaurants, festivals, ice cream, kayaking, paddleboarding, and some relaxing time on the beach. Don’t miss out on the Grand Lake Winter Carnival Festival with bed sled races. This newly renovated cabin features wood burning stove, granite countertops in the fully equipped kitchen (including the extras such as a crock pot and a coffee grinder), custom sink and waterfall shower head with travertine tile in the bathroom, and a flat screen smart TV in the common area. The two bedrooms are upstairs. One has a queen size bed and the other a full-size bed. The main floor features an updated La-Z-Boy couch with a comfy queen Tempur-pedic mattress. Bringing kids along? Pack less and use our Pack N Play and high chair. Bringing a dog along? We provided a dog bed and bowls for your convenience. The town of Grand Lake is 1.5 miles away; RMNP is 1.1 miles away; Ski Granby 25 minutes; Winter Park 40 minutes. Endless miles of trails for snowmobiling, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, running and hiking. Some of the best fishing in the state. Enjoy the views and a beverage on the back porch or cuddle up next to the fire with a book. This is moose country so bring your camera! We often have moose, fox, deer, and rarely even bear that can be seen from our back deck or covered front porch. One or two well behaved housebroken dogs are allowed. Now some important rules. (Please see the rental agreement and the instructions for a comprehensive list): 1) You must select the 'pets' option at the time of booking if you intend to bring a pet or notify us through the VRBO app so that the appropriate pet fee can be applied. The cleaning crew requires advance notice for cleaning after pets. Failure to select the pet option or otherwise notify us that you will bring a pet may result in additional fees taken from the security deposit. No cats please! We love them too. But some guests are highly allergic. 2) There is a strict no-smoking policy which is enforced. 3) Early check-ins: during the busy summer months, early check-in before 4 PM is generally not possible. 4) Firewood: firewood on the premises is for winter heating and not for outdoor fires. Firewood can be purchased for just $5.00 a bundle in Grand Lake for outdoor fires. 5) Outdoor fires: If you choose to have an outdoor fire in the firepit, it is your responsibility to stay up to date with any Grand County fire restrictions. This site is a good resource: https://bewildfireready.org/fire-restrictions/. Also, please drown the fire and stir it before leaving it unattended. It should be cold to the touch and no smoke. The area has been hit hard by wildfires. Please do your part to prevent forest fires. 6) Finally, Columbine Lake is a private, covenant-controlled community. Renters are not allowed to use the clubhouse, gazebo, horse pasture, OHVs or Columbine Lake.

Had a wonderful time relaxing with the family and Booker our golden doodle. Adorable cabin perfect for my husband, son and I. Great location, well equipped and communication with the owner was excellent! Really cute small town with a local grocery store to pick up items as needed. Would highly recommend!

We enjoyed our 2nd Christmas at the loose moose . The cabin was nice, cozy and warm. The family and pups enjoyed playing in the snow in the back yard. I would recommend.

We always come to this property in the fall for the annual Elk Rut in Rocky Mountain National Park. Being on the Grand Lake side much quieter and always beautiful. The house and owners has always been great. Minutes from Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake, Lake Granby, and the the National Park. Never disappointed.

Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for my first trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. The location was perfect; the hosts helpful and responsive; and the house had every amenity I could have wanted. Five stars all around.

The house is in a great location for several reasons. It's very close to the West entrance into RMNP, it's equally close to the town of Grand Lake. The nice part is it's off the beaten path so that gives you a quiet place to stay. We we lucky enough to see deer, coyote, and elk from the back deck. If you want you can walk around the lake road. Anyone you pass by on the lake road is very friendly.

This cozy cabin was the perfect place to stay for our visit to celebrate friends getting married! Very clean and relaxing with an amazing view both out the front door and sitting outback on the balcony. A perfect fire pit set up. Beautiful location.

We stayed in this cabin for five nights with two small children and two adults. Probably a little too cramped for four people, lots of toys and only one bathroom on the main level, especially in the middle of the night. We had problems with Netflix and the owner, Kate was very responsive and resolved our issue right away. We gave feedback about what was needed and what could be improved and again Kate was receptive. The location isn’t far from town and we enjoyed the back deck views.

It’s a great place to stay if you’re visiting the grand Lake area, or Rocky Mountain national Park. Kevin is very clean and nice easy check in process and believe it or not we saw a moose outside of the back deck maybe 25 feet away from the house. It was amazing.

We had 5 adults. The fold out bed in the couch was good and made it work for us as the bed space was limited. Clean, well maintained. Nice quiet place. Great fire pit area.

Very relaxing; beautiful scenery; however, carpets are stained and there is a lot of dust on the fixtures.

This was a a great property. It accommodated 4 people very well, had a front & back porch that we enjoyed morning and evenings and 5 minutes into downtown Grand Lake. Easy accessibility to the lake for kayaking and paddle boarding! Will definitely return!

Loved the area, great views, beautiful lake, too bad renters are excluded from using the lake. Had a great experience!

Spectacular views at every angle of this property. The home was clean. There was just enough of everything for our entire stay. Communication was always prompt, though not much was necessary. Short drive into town was nice.

Perfect cozy cabin on a private lake very close to Grand Lake. It was perfect to spend the night before going into Rocky Mountain National Park the next day. We had breakfast out on the back deck and even saw some moose!

We loved our stay so much,we booked for another 8 days in August and plan to come back next February. We stayed 2 weeks and cooked all our meals in the well stocked kitchen. The front and back decks are wonderful to sit on. The back deck has a beautiful view of trees.

We spent our time celebrating the New Year, watching the Grand Lake fireworks from the back deck. We had a great time. The cabin was full equipped with everything needed and well maintained. Would love to revisit during summer, the views of the lake would be amazing.

The cabin is cozy and quaint. We loved the setting! Columbine Lake is beautiful! We enjoyed walking our dogs around the lake and drinking our morning coffee on the back porch. The location is perfect! It is close to Grand Lake, but in the middle of nature. The cabin has two bedrooms on the second floor and the bathroom is on the first, which was fine for us, but may be an issue for some people. Also, if you plan to take a lot of food, it might be helpful to take it in tubs for storage. The kitchen has cabinets, but they are full of dishes and pans. Ben the owner is awesome and very responsive.

Love this cabin! Super clean and cute. Beautiful views off the back deck space and a nice spot for morning coffee. I rented this cabin for my mom, and my Aunt and Uncle visiting from AZ and NM. One thing I didn't take into account was the bedrooms upstairs, but the only bathroom was on the main level. For 3 80ish year Olds that layout was a bit of a challenge. I can also see it being challenging for families with young children. If the need arises, I will not hesitate to stay again. Great lake community with families and pets. Nice place to take a morning walk too!!

The location is tremendous, close to RMNP and Grand Lake and all their attractions. The Troublesome Fire was stopped short of this neighborhood, thank goodness. The only down side was the virtually suburban nature of the property and the private area that it is in. We could not access the lake, or even walk to it except on the boat beach. The cabin was itself was delightful, very well appointed. The deck was great!

Cabin was perfect for us. Just what we wanted. Close enough to Grand Lake and RMNP but remote enough to feel relaxed. Would definitely go again

Wonderful Cabin!
This was our second time staying here. It is a very clean and comfortable cabin. The Columbine Lake area is beautiful and where we always stay when visiting Grand Lake. Thank you Ben for sharing your cabin with us.

Sleeps no more than 4 adults.
Very small home and sleeps no more than 4 adults. Community roads are all dirt and the procedure for taking out the trash is extremely inconvenient. Front door handle and luckily I knew how to fix it. Kitchen supplies were very limited. While home was clean on the surface, there was a lot of dust in corners, on ceiling beams and ceiling fans.

There couldn’t be a better location and this cabin is adorable. Four of us stayed comfortably, one on couch, and it was well appointed. Columbine Lake is so peaceful.
Grand Lake is a few minutes away and we kayaked, shopped, & ate great food!
Rocky Mountain National Park Grand Lake entrance is 5 minutes away.
Thank you to the owners! Love your place. The peaceful back porch is worth it all on its own. What a view!! Everything else was a bonus :)
