About this house rental
Look no further!! We offer it all- beach and canal!! This house is truly the best location on the island and allows easy access to all the island's activities! We are a canal-front home with a private dock, across the street from the beach, next to the tennis and pickle ball courts, across the street from olympic pool, adult pool, restaurants and shopping! We are less than 100 yards from beach access 16 - which has sand regardless of the tide! (This is an incredible bonus considering some beachfront homes don't have any beach during high tide or have a huge hike to actually get to the water!) We are also INCLUDING 2 Amenity cards with rental! Perfect home!
Once you visit our home you will want to return! This home has generations of love and laughter. It has an open floor plan so you can talk to the chef while sitting on the back porch overlooking the marsh! Downstairs you can follow a family tradition and have an oyster roast in the fire pit!
ADVENTURE/ACTIVITIES: If you feel the need to venture further, you can go to two different wonderful golf courses, a marina, five different restaurants, several pools, and a fitness center!
You can also explore the island on quiet roads and extensive bike trails. There is a lot of wildlife to be seen including alligators, pelicans, osprey, dolphins, crabs, and a lot of deer! There are also many great shells to be found on the beach. It is like your own little mini zoo!
If you wish to get intimately involved with wildlife, you can bring home dinner by going crabbing and fishing off our dock. You can also bring your boat and launch it at the marina or another close public launch.
Fripp also offers Camp Fripp, a children's recreation center where the kids can explore the island while mom and dad golf, play tennis, or just sit by the pool. There are organized activities for the older kids as well.
ISLAND FACTS: Fripp Island is a pristine 3000-acre private, gated island 19 miles outside of Beaufort, South Carolina. The island has three and a half miles of beautiful beaches. Several movies have been filmed on the island including Forrest Gump, Jungle Book, and The Prince of Tides. The authors Pat Conroy and Cassandra King chose to call the island home for a brief while.
HOUSE INFO: This four-bedroom, two-bathroom home has an outdoor covered porch and an enclosed sunroom. There is a king in one room upstairs and a queen in the other room. Downstairs, one room has a queen and a twin and the other has a queen. The pull-out queen is in the sunroom which has a door to shut it off from the rest of the house. ALL OF THE ROOMS HAVE A TV!!! There is a wonderful view of the canal with a private dock. Downstairs there is a screen porch with an enclosed charcoal grill, a ping pong table, and of course a washer and dryer. The kitchen has all of the essentials and then some. You will surely want to enjoy it!
The house was originally intended to be a fishing camp. The downstairs was going to be for all my Grandpa's rowdy friends. The upstairs was supposed to be for the more refined guests! That being said - YOU HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE TO GO FROM THE UPSTAIRS ROOMS TO THE DOWNSTAIRS ROOMS. Some people find this charming. Some find it bewildering. I like to escape downstairs!
The cost of this rental INCLUDES the resort fee and 2 amenity cards!! That is a huge savings to you! If you wish to purchase additional cards the prices are listed below. They are purchased through the owner.

Best trip to Fripp!!! This was first time for us staying canal side and we loved it. The kids enjoyed setting and checking the crab baskets and the adults loved to fish from dock.

We were well pleased with the property. The game room and dock were a plus, my grandsons loved them both. Home was clean. The owner was a pleasure to work with. We had to leave early due to tropical storm but really enjoyed the time we were there and would stay again

Our family had a great time at Marcie's house! The house was very clean upon arrival and had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here while fishing from the dock or just sitting around on the porches. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable which is always a huge plus while on vacation. There were also plenty of beach chairs, toys, games, etc. to use. We will definitely love to stay here again. Thanks for everything, Marcie!

Close to everything- beach, pool, and marsh. Loved the dock for crabbing and fishing. Sunrise was breathtaking on the dock. Beach access is just across the street along with the pool. Something for all 10 members of our group. Fripp is a special place. Great memories of our week.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was so close to the main Beach Club areas and right in the middle of the island which was super convenient.
We went with our family (3 couples and a 5 week old baby) The "split"house was perfect for us because two couples stayed upstairs and my husband and I stayed in one of the rooms downstairs and set up our 5 week old's "nursery" in the adjoining room. The back porch was so nice looking out over the marsh/canal. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely go back!

We loved the house and its location. The external stairs was not a problem for our group. Having the dock on the canal gave opportunities forots of great activities during down time when not at the beach.

Came done with some friends to do some fishing. Had an amazing time and caught a bunch of fish. Even got a 6lb Red Drum off the dock. We have stayed here before and will stay again. House is well setup and everything is clean and works well.

Wonderful rustic beach house that’s great for a beach getaway. We loved enjoying a low country boil underneath the old oaks out front!

My husband and I treated our adult sons and their partners to a post-Christmas getaway. We had an amazing time at this Fripp Island home! It is very clear that the family who owns the home takes great pride in sharing their authentic beach experience with others. The home is one is the best outfitted homes in which we have stayed. Any kitchen appliance you can think of they have here at this home! Need a large electric griddle? They have one. Need a slow cooker? Check! Need a fryer? Got that, too! (One thing to note, for those who plan to cook meals, the kitchen space is tight, but we made it work. Just not much room for multiple chefs to work at one time.) The bathrooms, kitchen, rooms, etc., were very clean, but we did notice that the area rugs were full of sand from previous visitors. We spent very limited time on the beach, so we certainly didn’t produce all of the sand that we shook out of the rugs upon preparing to leave! The sunroom was our favorite place to hang out, but the living room also had plenty of room for 7 adults. Sitting in the sunroom and watching the marsh birds and deer was wonderful! If we had any issue at all, it would be that the downstairs screened area needs a good cleaning and some things need updating/repaired. The ping pong table was not able to be played on because the net was broken (my sons assured me that you can’t play proper ping pong without a net!) Additionally, there was a noticeable musty smell in the downstairs rooms, but again, this is authentic old Fripp. With adult family members staying in the two downstairs bedrooms, security didn’t feel like an issue, but I would not be comfortable with children rooming below. That is probably a city dweller’s perspective, however, because Fripp feels like a very safe place to be! All in all, it was a wonderful vacation, and we would stay here again!

Family Fun on Fripp Island
Very homey and relaxing. Short walk to a beautiful, wide, peaceful beach. The porch and dock overlooking the marsh tranquil and relaxing way to begin and end a day. Kitchen was well equipped and the beds comfy. Fell in love all over again with SC coast. Would love to return but for more than 6 nights.

Loved this home!
Fantastic location! The home has a ton of character! It was clean, perfectly stocked & suited our group of 6 with plenty of room for others. Our favorite part was the dock. We threw the cast net for bait & fished during the hide tides. The 2 minute walk to the beach was perfect. Marcie, the owner was very responsive & great to deal with! I’d definitely rent again!!

Best spot on the island!
This house couldn’t be more charming! You can tell lots of wonderful beach memories have been made here:). The location is perfect! Walking distance to the beach, pool, ice cream shop and tennis. Also sits right on the creek with its own fishing dock. The owner is super helpful and responsive. We’ve come to Fripp for many years and this is my favorite rental yet;)!

Marcie’s Place
In short, this house was incredible. It sits directly across from one of the beach access points, so for a house on the creek side it’s as convenient as you’ll ever get to having access to the beach.
The amenities provided suited our group perfectly (wish we had found the griddle and waffle maker earlier!), and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.
For those who stay, *make sure* you spend some time on the chair on the dock. You’ll know which one I’m talking out when you get out there. 😁
We’ll be back next Memorial Day!

Great Location
Everything needed supplied in unit. Manager fast response for internet outage and kept us posted on when we were expected to resume service. Widespread outage. Location on canal (for fishing crabbing) and across the street from the beach. Lots of beach left at high tide.

Great Vacation
The house is in an excellent location on the island. So convenient. We had plenty of room for our crew and accommodations worked well for all of us. So of the things we liked were the ping pong table, the dock out back, shade trees, high speed internet, beach chairs, washer/dryer etc.
Marcie made sure we had all we needed for a great stay.

Great experience!
We were only there for a day and a half but had a fantastic time! Easy walk to the beach across the road, lots of chairs/boogie boards provided. Outdoor shower was clutch. Took advantage of the grill, crab pot, and ping pong table. The upstairs was fantastic, we had people spread out playing board games and kids playing video games. It was never an issue to get around because the porch extends all around, so instead of walking through everyone you can just go around the house. Owner was VERY responsive and flexible with us which was so great! Deer everywhere, very awesome to wake up and see a deer near your door. Fantastic value, highly recommended and everyone is already talking about wanting to go back!!

Lovely dock on the canal
We enjoyed our stay here. We especially loved the dock on the canal in the backyard and the short walk to the beach. The house was great for birdwatching. The house is right next door to the pickleball and tennis courts which was a nice plus for us. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, perfect for our group. A few small issues came up and Marcie was quick to respond and all issues were resolved. We would stay here again in the future.

First time to Fripp
This house was amazing. Private dock out the back door with great fishing. Our family really enjoyed fishing in the early mornings and evening. It was just across the street from the beach within walking distance or short golf cart ride. Very quiet surroundings. Enjoyed watching the deer in the mornings come and great us. Very clean house. It was just 4 adults, and 2 children. We had plenty of room. There is a downstairs area that has 2 bed rooms and upstairs has 2 bedrooms, kitchen and a sunroom. My daughter loved the sunroom, it was her house. Would definitely recommend this place for a large family or anyone that likes to fish. Well be back!

Best thing is the location
This house had some positives: location (a quick walk to the beach), private deck on the canal, very good/fast WiFi, TVs (though we didn't watch but one of them), a large number of dishes, cookware, and silverware in the kitchen, a nice new dishwasher, & a decent microwave, toaster & coffeepot. The golf cart inclusion was a big plus, but the cart itself didn't drive well (didn't go straight - you had to keep turning the wheel back to get it to go the right way). The rooms upstairs were acceptable for sleeping in. There are beach chairs and other items for use too. That being said, I cannot recommend this place IF your priority is a nice, clean, modern home. It simply isn't that. It's not only dated, but it was not very clean upon arrival (hair in fridge, cigarette butts & ashes on porch, etc.). Lots of little things are unappealing or broken--too many to recount (just two examples: toilet paper holder falling off the wall and part of the blinds missing in a bedroom). The sunroom that is encased in glass (and is decidedly not a porch but an indoor room) had a strong cigarette smell in it upon arrival (the description online says smoking is allowed only on the "porches"); our visions of relaxing out there quickly evaporated (we had to keep it closed off our whole 5-day visit). Perhaps more importantly, the downstairs rooms smelled musty (likely the area around them has flooded before), and during the week my brother (who was staying in one of them) awoke to crabs in the room on the bed next to him! Fiddler crabs. In your room at night. Not good! There were roaches as well down there. We had security concerns during our stay: the backdoor lock doesn't work (the owner is aware of this but hasn't fixed it yet) and the downstairs is not only separated, but the screened-in porch area (off of which the bedrooms lie) doesn't lock. (The bedrooms do each have their own lock, which is a little odd, but better than no locks at all down there.) The lighting in the kitchen/living/dining area is poor, which can feel either cozy or gloomy, depending on your perspective. We chose to make the best of our stay, but the state of neglect that the house is in did disappoint us and colored our first visit to Fripp. This house was likely nice when it was new, but it needs some serious cleaning and updating, with more of an eye toward guest comfort. The owner was nice and helpful--no complaints on that front; I wish such an ideally situated house were in better repair.
